Wow! My lady took me here and I've gotta say, I'm impressed. The food is really good and at a great price too! Best orange chicken, beef and garlic dish, egg drop soup and hot and sour soup I've ever had . The veggie spring rolls are also very tasty .The sauces are very good too .Trying this place out is worth your time.
I really enjoyed my tofu and veggies vermicelli bowl. It was very fresh and a really big bowlful! They don't have a lot of vegetarian options. It is served with fish sauce, so if you are a pescatarian, you won't mind. Sodas are served in the can. I really wanted to try their Thai iced tea, but didn't want to do so much caffeine at night. My husband said the beef dish he got was very good. The staff were very nice and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.Update: I have eaten here several more times and continue to be impressed with the quality of the meals. Thank you!!
One of the best restaurants around. Food is excellent, and they can cater to those with food allergies. Prices are very good for the portions. Staff is always friendly, attentive, and down to earth. Location is perfect for so many reasons.
Redemption!!!! Fantastic takeout from a Hong Kong tonight! Steak Pho, Orange Chicken, Beef w Broccoli and Lo Mein were all outstanding!! We used to frequent Hong Kong quite a bit, but after a couple of just okay takeouts, we have Little Bejing a try.... And were underwhelmed and wallet empty. Tonight was fantastic just like old times! Truly hoping they are back.
Love this place. Extensive menu selection. Everything made hot and fresh to order by hand daily by some really great local owners! Good for carry out or dine in experience. Prices very affordable. The quality of the food and service will hopefully not disappoint.
This little gem is actually really GOOD! I love the Vermicelli bowl with grilled beef. I’ve also discovered that their Spring Roll with grilled beef is like getting Vermicelli all rolled up, but with this lovely peanut sauce!! I love this place❤️
Cozy little place I order here on Uber eats a lot And I like to sit down and eat here too. The food is really delicious. I love the pho and spicy beef stew. I also really like their tofu specifically the sesame tofu. I always eat their soup when I'm feeling sick. Of all the restaurants in Elgin, this is the one I've eaten at the most.
Walked in and sat down wherever we wanted. Had a waitress come over immediately to take our order. The soup we ordered came out immediately, and our dinner meal came out very shortly thereafter! On top of the great service, price and quality of our meals, 1 of our meals were enough for 2 meals!! I would suggest Hong Kong Restaurant to anyone looking for really good food for a really good price.
This is our favorite go to Chinese restaurant in Elgin. The food is always fresh, and we've never had a bad meal.
Service was really quick and friendly on Fathers Day. Stopped in while passing through Elgin, and was not disappointed! The vegetables all tasted so fresh, and the entire meal was so favorable. Definitely recommend the Lo Mein, as it is a good portion and tasty!
I've been here before and last time everything was great, but this time I noticed that there were new staff so food tasted different Service was not the best
Place is always great. Super friendly, service is fast. The lunch specials are nice portion, I usually don't quite finish them and the mango or coconut smoothie with tapioca is yum.
We went to Panda in Manor but they ran out of food. I am so glad we decided to go to Hong Kong restaurant. They had everything and it's really good. Huge portions at a great price.
OMG! ELGIN ASIAN SECRET! Everything on the dish was savory and blissful with its on individual flavors that came together causing the taste buds to beginning for more! I will definitely come more often.
Best Chinese food I remember having! Everything we ordered was phenomenal 🙌 and we were greeting as soon as we walked in. They are so friendly.

This place has the best fry rice I've ever had. It's always perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. The portions are huge, so I always have leftovers. Plus, the price is super reasonable. Definitely check them out if you're craving some good Chinese food.
Great family-friendly spot and delicious Chinese and Vietnamese dishes with fresh flavors and generous portions. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for families. Highly recommend!

Very clean and the staff a very nice. However, I do not like the new changes that have been made since the new owners took over in July. The food is good but not the same and before they served you at your table but now you have to go to the counter for everything so it has a fast-food feel. I do recommend the place just sad to see the changes.
7 -29- 17 The food is yummy. The people are precious. We had 2 lunch specials & left stuffed. They have a huge menu of several different types of Asian cuisine. Very casual, order & pick up from counter. Very clean. Will go again.
I had previously ordered food from here through UberEats and was pleasantly surprised by how most of the items were pretty tasty, I decided to visit the restaurant in person. The restaurant is very clean and well kept, lighting was good and tables were clean. The gentleman taking my order was very friendly as well. For this visit I ordered the salt and pepper tofu and beef pho. The tofu was really tender and the pho was good. I previously also tried their lo-mien which was good, but the Singapore rice noodles were just alright. Overall I really enjoyed the food here, and consider it one of the better Chinese restaurants in the Elgin/Manor area.

Food was good, but i ordered 2 of the dinner meals which was supposed to have soup, rice, and an egg roll. Both my meals did not come with egg rolls and we were disappointed. Also ordered steak Pho and its not worth the price their was barely any steak or noodles. I would love to go back as long as i get what i ordered. I ordered over the phone and my husband picked it up so i didnt see anything was missing until he got home.
I would not recommend it. I had sweet and sour pork lunch. Everything was just bland, egg roll was over cook, wanton soup was chicken broth some cabbage 1 wanton, fried rice just had a couple small bits of egg, and not impressed with the fried pork.
I came here because my daughter said she ate here several times before and liked it (she then told me it seemed to be under new ownership). The lomein tasted rubbery and had a horrible after taste like musky perfume (my daughters agreed) .. the sesame beef had a very generic taste and the beef itself was gamey tasting l. Staff did nothing to fix this or make the experience better,j ust told me it was fresh and that was that .. I have never paid so much for horrible food . Never again .. I'll stick to fast food when visiting Elgin .. also I am not a picky person and hardly ever complain .. please learn how to accept criticism without making faces ..thanks
My first impression when sitting down was that everything seemed rather expensive, especially compared 1:1 to another place like Pho Yes just down the road that offers basically all the same food, but I hoped the cost would be counter-balanced by quality and/or quantity. Unfortunately, neither was the case. The first two things we tried to order off the menu were out of stock. Great start. We ordered other food, and while it came out at a reasonable speed, my wife and I both agreed that everything tasted exceptionally bland and tasteless. And on all orders, they really skimped out on meat, clearly cutting costs by plating as little meat as possible to reasonably get away with. Again, compared to another very similar place like Pho Yes (which we had just visited the other week so it was fresh in our minds), the lack of taste and especially lack of meat was very apparent. The spring rolls were an obvious example, where we're used to meat being wrapped around the interior of the roll with thick cuts, but here it was two small pieces of meat on a single side per roll, so little that we couldn't even taste the meat, the spring rolls tasting just like the vegetable filling (so basically just the bland taste of water/air). The entrées didn't fair much better, with little meat, little sauce, and little flavor. Neither of us could finish our meals just because they tasted so empty and hollow. We took them home and tried to revive the meals later by adding more homecooked meat so the ratios were somewhat correct, and adding much-needed seasoning and sauce. But the base we were working with was still rather mediocre, and at that rate we might as well just stayed home. Very disappointing experience. Waste of time, a drive, and especially money (I spent like $75 on this crap), when we have gotten the exact same meal elsewhere at a much higher quality for half the cost.
Used to love this place and still encourage people to continue eating here but please check your order before you walk out. I have a few issues I would like to see addressed. Tried to order on phone and was extremely polite and clear as I always am whenever speaking to people when ordering food. I corrected the worker I only wanted one vermicelli bowl and an order of pork egg rolls. Instead I still got teo orders of vermicelli bowls and spring rolls instead. My sandwich completely fell apart and instead of a fried egg I got scrambled egg, not to mention was made unlike any bahn mi I've ever encountered. Just asking some research into these dishes on their menu be done by the workers and the menu be more understood by those taking orders. Very sorry to the owners for this review but it is not up to par.
As an appetizer we had the fried dumplings and they were pretty decent. My boyfriend had the chicken fried rice. The rice was OK but the chicken was absolute garbage quality. I ordered the spicy beef pho and that was absolutely not it. It wasn't spicy for one, for two it was super greasy and for three it did not taste like pho at all.
Food lacking any real authentic flavors. Looks like pho, but broth couldn't stand on its own. Spring rolls had no aromatic and they used iceberg/romain lettuce instead of green leaf. Not sure of the dipping sauce...maybe Thai. Would have been better off with some fish sauce, with a squeeze of whole lime, and chili oil or sriracha; that would definitely bring up flavor profile.
2023 Update: Honestly I’m disappointed. I got the seafood pho. All types of seafood tasted overcooked and kind of old, not fresh. I got a kids rice with pork plate and I can’t put my finger on what’s off. It tasted like old oil or old sauce, the rice was slightly underdone. My hot tea I ordered didn’t come out hot enough for my tea to steep. Environment is quite and calm, low lighting and tinted window. Pretty clean. 2020: Quiet setting, food out in a timely manner, friendly staff.
Sometime in the first part of July 2017, the restaurant came under new management. I decided that I would give them a chance. I loved the previous staff; the service and food was always great, but I was definitely open. My first experience was me going in and sitting at a table. The people at the counter hollered at me to come up there to order. I went to the counter, had to stand there and look at the menu, then order. The order taker had no idea about what any of the food was, so that was definitely a bad sign. I ordered water and was told to go over to a different counter to get it...they were kind enough to ask if I wanted ice, though. Anyway, so I paid for my meal with a credit card, so I didn’t leave a tip(it was apparent there was NO service, but I had cash just in case I needed to leave a tip). I was given a number, I got my water, then sat down at my table. Less than 10 minutes later, from behind the counter, they holler my number. So I went to the counter again to get my food...it was served on a flimsy, warped plastic tray with plate and bowl. I went back to my table, praying that the tray didn’t fold and my food go flying. The food portion seemed a little bit less than with the previous management, but still acceptable. The food was also acceptable/good. I had to get up and go get my own water refills several times because the water glasses are probably 10oz glasses. I also have an issue with the hot mustard and sweet & sour sauce dispensers. I’m not sure how they are stored, but I don’t think they are stored correctly. I tried to squirt some hot mustard out and a big glob of dried hot mustard shot out. Overall, I’m very disappointed. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was acceptable. There is NO service whatsoever. I do not go here to have to walk around and serve myself. I guess on the plus side, I save money on tips because there is absolutely no service. The prices are also fair. I will probably go back, but grudgingly.
Everything was drenched in grease.. Even the chicken that came with the chicken pho was grilled and drenched in grease, defeating the purpose of a healthy bowl of pho… The Mongolian beef was also prepared odd. It was drenched in oil and had some burn marks on the side and tasted like “beef bistec/fajita” that you can get at a Mexican restaurant but with some soy sauce/oyster sauce/ginger seasoning. Oh and the wonton soup that I paid extra for, only had one hollow little piece of wonton and some broth. IMO, not worth the $75 we paid for.

Zero rating! This is the best place to get sick. While dining here, my family and I immediately had stomachache. We vomited. We also had diarrhea. It was awful. We ordered Lo mein, pad thai, grilled pork ribs, and rangoon. While the service was mediocre, the food was “to die for”.
Love old tasting, poorly made food? Are you looking for a restaurant where you can not only get ignored by the staff, you can get a stomach virus too? You’ve found the place! Come on in and see a dirty restaurant with old unwashed condiment bottles on every table. Find something you like on the menu? Who cares! They’ll make you what they want to make you and you can figure out if it’s what you ordered or not. Do you have $15 and love diarrhea? Hong Kong Restaurant is the place for you. Bad Service, Bad Food, Incorrigible Business. Sell the restaurant, open a Blockbuster Video, it’ll last longer.
Not good . The middle of the boba jelly was hard and tasted rotten . My daughter found a dead fly in her boba . The peanut sauce for the spring rolls was gross tasted like chemicals then then spring roll it self was gross I spit it out . The Lemon grass shrimp had no lemongrass flavor at all . 100$ for nasty food do not recommend.
Been here a few times over the years and the only nice thing has been the new benches. Food is always questionable and I figure it is just a bad time but they are consistent with bad food. Server didn’t even wait to take our drink order when seating my family of 4, the only patrons in the restaurant at the time. When my husband asked about the meal he got and thought that it was wrong. The server took the meal back to the kitchen and the man came out and quite rudely pointed out each individual piece of seafood. My soup was sour.If the server had come back to check on us and see how things were I would’ve been able to tell her, but she was too busy eating in the back. When we were ready to go, no one was in sight even after standing at the cash register, saying hello a few times I walked behind the counter, opened the kitchen door and asked if we should even bother paying for our food or just go ahead and leave. After the barrage of my friend, my friend,we finally got the attention on the man and my soup was removed from the ticket but our bill was still $60. We will definitely never be giving them another chance.
Ordered spring rolls and pho, not sure what the soup is but it doesn’t taste like pho, it’s super greasy and the meat and chicken is questionable. The spring rolls is literally just lettuce and noodles and 2 nasty shrimp pieces. Disgusting. Don’t waste your money
Ordered from them twice, the first time beyond chewy and gamey chicken the rest of the food was delicious with some of the best lo mein I've ever had. Today though, we ordered from them and as soon as I opened the lo mein I could smell something was off but wasn't sure what. First bite let me know exactly what was wrong, it was rancid! It had clearly gone bad and was still served. As well the sushi we ordered didn't taste right, very fishy and tough which means old fish. The egg rolls were also a bit questionable as they had a slightly pickled, off note to them which I hadn't tasted before. Thankfully doordash was able to refund us the entire order, but now I'm sitting here with a upset stomach and honestly too disgusted to even attempt to eat or order something else for tonight. Never trying this place again, the health department really should take a look at them
I spent $37 on 3 meals and each was disgusting. My egg drop soup was completely solid, when I contacted the restaurant they said “yes, we just noticed that” and gave no offer to compensate me. The 2 meats in my Pho were chewy and weren’t eaten. This is a complete waste of money!
All around terrible. Slow service, dirty restaurant, bad food. Tapioca pearls tasted and felt old like they had been soaking way too long. Crab rangoons had practically zero filling (one was actually just a fried wonton wrapper with none in it at all) and faint flavor of something off like vomit. Pad Thai was basically a soup and all the noodles were less than half an inch long. So bizarre and disappointing. There were only 4 or 5 tables sitting in the entire restaurant when we arrived, 3 already had their food, and still it took a ridiculously long time for anyone to take our order. Even then we still waited too long for what we ordered, (25 minutes for one entree that was clearly not freshly made and we were the only active table), the appetizers came out at the same time as the entree, and parts of our order were left out. Sticky tables, dirty condiments and silverware. I also found it strange that the server was not actively tending to any of the tables. I could hear other tables wondering where anyone was and having to flag down people for drink refills, to order, and to get the check, simply because the server would just go into the back for extended periods of time without coming back out. Will not ever be returning and would not recommend.
We ordered togo, We didn't get our egg rolls, ordered crispy wonton with sweet and sour sauce, didn't get the sauce. Wonton soup was too salty, kinda disappointed to have tried this place for the first time, we drove from bastrop and I do not think we'll be back. They were not busy and I even tipped!
If I could give this place less than one star I would, they need to be shut down. First off my order was wrong, I ordered the beef pho and I have no clue what I actually got. I get home and try it and it tastes like dish soap. My son didn't even eat his food either because it was disgusting. They have really went down hill since the new owners took over and I will never eat here again.
Probaby the worst Chinese I ever had... but apparently every Chinese place sucks in Texas... no offense.. it's honestly less than mediocre. Not fresh ingredients, frozen and processed meat and vegetables...rice was chalky...food not seasoned and portions are small. Best thing I ate was an egg roll and it was nothing spectacular. Owner was nice and they finally answered the phone to order from here. But not a fan of their food.
We just ordered 2 plate of combination fried rice. Worst fried rice I have ever had. Seems like it is just boiled rice with very little meat. No shrimp hardly any chicken and beef. Will never eat here again--- update food is worse than I thought we ordered egg drip soup and it is so gross we had to throw it out. The bowl was more like a brown gravy. With something g in it that we cant describe. Had to throw the whole meal out.
If negative stars was a choice today that would have been my review. I just wanted a replacement bc my chicken did not taste the same as it did with my previous order. Cook said he could not replace it bc I used Doordash instead of calling them my self and that he had made 10 plus plates of the same chicken and didn’t have any complaints. All I wanted was to replace the chicken. I was not asking for a refund. Will not be coming back.
Placed an order on their very first day of new ownership and it took 4 tries and over an hour to get the order right, which still lacked in quality. Gave the place a few months to get their stuff together and went in today for Lo Mein and wings. Paid over $20 and got 5 wings when I should have gotten 8 (per the menu) and recieved a pan noodle instead of a Lo Mein noodle and still lacks quality and authenticity. Sadly, I will not be returning to this location. I miss the old management :(
Food was a 2/10 I wish I had known they were going to play with my money like this I would’ve never went out and got this.it was supposed to egg foo yun and well all I got was a blob of food and on the side wet won ton chips and the fried rice seemed old I don’t know what happened but I expected better especially since family and neighbors said it was good…Now I just want my damn money back😭
I been coming here for 2 years. My last 3 orders have not been correct. I ordered shrimp Pho and it came without the veggies. They tried to say it was because it was a small pho. But I've never been told that at a pho restaurant before. When I called them they acted like I didn't understand the menu. I will never come back to this restaurant again.
This restaurant is not clean at all... as you can see in the picture we found a roach in our food. We will never eat here again. The lady even had the nerve to say that they don't have roaches here... and we had to ask for a refund... they didn't apologize for it until we went up to demand a refund and she only gave us $10 dollars for that plate... never again.

I am not one that normally posts negative reviews. I prefer to give local businesses a chance to correct or improve. Since ownership change it has consistently gone down hill. The In-ability to take orders properly and follow special instructions for orders is appalling. Charged extra for extra protein still receive a normal portion. Ask for no lettuce still get it in my dish every time. Forget whole dishes on my order that I’m charged for. All these things are not once, not twice but several times. Once in 2 years My order was right and only because it was in person and I was sitting in the restaurant. This restaurant used to be fantastic. Coming from the service industry it makes me sad to see one of my favorite local spots go to pot. I won’t be spending my money here anymore.
