Really loved the beef stew over mashed potatoes, it was delicious. My friend tried the new baked chicken over noodles with mushrooms and a creamy mustard sauce and that surprisingly was delicious as well. We will definitely be coming back here again. And the server was great he came to check on is and refill our drinks and he even asked if we wanted a dessert which we ended up trying out too.

Ive never had a bad meal at Mimi's. The portions are large and the food is seasoned and cooked well. I especially love the breakfast menu and meals. When in doubt, go to Mimi's.

I went on a Wednesday morning with my wife for breakfast. I ordered the stuffed French toast and my wife ordered the eggs benedict Florentine. Fantastic food and very good service. We were seated pretty quickly and received our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I was glad to see the restaurant was open after learning other restaurants in my area closed down during the pandemic. Mimi's Cafe offers flavors that are hard to find this in other places.

I really like the atmosphere in this place. It's never overly crowded. Everyone is very nice. The food is good. I only have a very small complaint, but I think this reflects the sign of our times. My small complaint is my breakfast bacon was so thin and crispy the moment I took a bite it shattered all over the table. It was still good, just a little thin.

Very rare a place hits 5 stars and every aspect of the restaurant. This was a great find. I love the way the place is layed out with different rooms and a small bar area that actually had Thursday night football on. The staff was very friendly and worked as a team. The food at first seemed pricey but for what i got well worth it. The pot roast dinner was absolutely the best. Definitely coming back. Guaranteed.

What a great place! There are some great options on the all day breakfast menu. I definitely want to come back and try other items. The fresh baked muffins are to notch. Tasty coffee, and the pumpkin latte is heads and shoulders above anything you'll find at the green and white logoed corporate giant. Staff was fantastic, fun, and attentive.

Ok, it’s a chain restaurant. Having said that, I must share this! I’ve been to a Mimi’s before near San Diego, it was very average, not even took the time to post a report. Now, this one just south of Sacramento, well worth the time! I ordered the Salmon Hibachi. Ordered very specific and they delivered perfection! Was delicious and nutritious! Service was impeccable! Super cute inside and excellent service! We spent mothers day here a while back and fell in love with the place. Very cozy inside with cute little details. Food was very flavorful and fresh as well. Only went for the muffins and coffee. You can't go wrong with a blueberry or bran muffin. Sat with friends to visit for a while and server was friendly, helpful and not pushy at all.

My third time eating at this location they have a really good breakfast menu with a lot of variety. The staff is kind and attentive I really like the atmosphere and the music one of my favorite places to grab a late breakfast in Sacramento.

Nice subtle sit down restaurant, I got the Florentine eggs Benedict with a side of basil pesto, the egg was nice, fluffy and yolky, the potatoes give it a nice complement as the meal doesn’t give the impression of a heavy meal, more of a simple meal. I got my food to go and it was really quick, the restaurant was pretty empty. Forgot my lemons, but there was no issue, the gentleman gave me a cup full. I just wish there was more ham and hollandaise sauce. One little cup is all they gave, but I'm glad they didn't put it actually on the eggs due to it getting soggy before eating. There were lots of potatoes which were really good. I'd go back but just will order extra hollandaise next time.😊

The cream cheese filling in the french toast was supposed to be infused with orange marmalade, and it was, during the last 3 bites of my food. The rest of the filling was extremely bland and the only thing that made the french toast good was the sweet parts of the fruit on top. But honestly, this was a perfect dish for someone with diabetes or who is just not big on sugar. The bacon and eggs were PERFECT and so were the potatoes! You just have to season the eggs and potatoes to your liking. My husband didn’t like his omelette at all. He said it was flavorless, eggs were hard, and the meat was stale. Almost giving it the taste of it being steamed dry.🤦🏽‍♀️😭😩 Overall verdict….I would come back and try something new, but he wouldn’t. 3/5 stars for the food isn’t too bad, but we have had better quality food for the price at other restaurants in town. 4/5 overall. We appreciated the customer service more than anything!!

This is a nice go to place to brunch with Friends. Now, that being said be mindful that if you do not come early enough, you will have a substantial wait. The staff will pass you by and just keep telling you they will be right with you. I came twice in a 2 week period first, with some girlfriends and second with my Husband. The first experience was great. Our server very pleasant and food on point. The second, was disastrous. We were seated right away but it took a long and slow 20 minutes before we got seen by anyone. I was ready to leave, mind you, I am the more patient person. Since the Hubby decided to stay, we did. Our server apologized for the wait and went on to take our order. I ordered the exact same thing from the week before and it was like I ordered 2 different things. I was told maybe they had not bought tomatoes the week before. I politely told the server, this dish does not have tomatoes and left it at that. The food here is good for the most part but like any foodie out there, when the service is delayed and bad, your dining experience gets spoiled.

First and foremost I must tip my hat to Alex the server, he was extremely excellent in providing customer service. My first order was not so great the eggs were extremely hard. Alex immediately apologized and took my plate back to have the cook remake my order. Which, came out 100% better than before. My husband ordered Scrambled eggs with mushrooms, bell peppers & onions with turkey sausage that included country potatoes. Once again our Server Alex was courteous & showed professionalism in handling our table. We will be back and will be requesting Alex as our server.

I recently dined at a local breakfast spot that serves all-day brunch—a definite bonus. I opted for the rib eye and eggs, and while the dish had potential, it fell short in a few areas. The rib eye was thinner than I expected, leaving me wanting more substance for the price. The eggs, however, were a standout, perfectly cooked and rich in flavor. The accompanying potatoes were a bit overwhelming with the bell peppers and onion addition and felt unnecessary, overshadowing the rest of the plate. On the beverage side, the caramel latte was disappointing; it lacked the depth of flavor I anticipated. On a brighter note, my friend loved her ham and cheese crepe with potatoes, which suggests there are worthwhile options on the menu. Overall, while the experience was just okay, the ability to enjoy breakfast at any hour is a major highlight.

Poor quality food and service. Had to ask for the missing bread basket which I believe I was charged for. And... that's what my dinner came with, 3 kid size slice of cold bread that was tossed on the grill couple of times. Fire dessert, I ordered a blue berry muffin since the place "supposedly" famous fot their desserts. To my disappointment, the muffin felt as though it was taken out of the refrigerator or freezer (that's how hard it wad) and place on the top of hot plate of dinner plate/ box in the bag! Overall, very disappointing.

The atmosphere was nice except the carpet was filthy looking (carpet is just not a good idea for restaurants). The food looked beautiful however, it lacked in flavor and authenticity. For example, the cappuccinos we're not made with espresso. The "whipped cream" on top of my iced cappuccino was cool whip, not whipped cream. Everything was over priced and personally we thought Denny's would have been just as good, but less expensive. Also, our food took a very long time to be given to us even though there were not many diners. We did not try any of their baked goods and we do not plan on going back.

My daughter and I were there for lunch. We are local but haven't been there in years. Anyway, i ordered a sandwich trio which served with French fries and soup. The soup and fries were good as usual but the sandwich, however, it was like pulling the foccacia bread and chicken breast and put together on the plate. No mayonnaise, no lettuce or tomato. Super dry and cold. So disappointed!! My total bill was $76 and I could have gone to In & Out and spent $20 for it. Although In and Out never ever disappointed me in the past. Bottom line, I still tipped 15% for the service but not for the food!!!

If the order pick-up is staffed, it is likely to be slow. often it is not staffed and if they didn't lose your order, go play the lottery, because you are lucky. I gave this restaurant 3 chances and they have failed consistently. I will not be returning

I dined in here on a Saturday, the parking lot was almost completely empty and it appeared nobody was eating here even when stepping into the restaurant. They did happen to be open with only one other group of customers dining in. The interior of this spot looks outdated and has a home like look - being a chain restaurant they try to make it feel as if you are dining in a local setting. Sitting alone with none of the other tables with other patrons felt certainly strange compared to dining at somewhere else such as B.J.'s across the street. Our server seemed friendly and accommodating, but the food was a disgrace. Chicken pot pie and brioche cheeseburger with a side of au gratin is what consisted of our order. The chicken pot pie was not even a pie - it's chicken filling looked and tastes bland and frozen and the "pie crust" is no where compared to any pie crust I've had, it was more like a cracker that they placed on top of the bowl. The burger tasted frozen and was way too fatty not to even mention the insane amount of sauce they put on the burger to hide the horrendous fact that it is frozen. I have never seen so much fat/oil used on a food item that their au gratin potatoes used - it was oblivious how oily and greasy it was. I would not recommend trying somewhere else for better dine in experience such as the personal favorite Black Bear Diner just a half mile down the road.

Will never go again. Sign said wait to be seated. The “wait” was over 10 minutes and hardly anyone in the restaurant. Took over 10 minutes to get out order taken and to wait another 35 minutes …

Warning ! Awful food, we went here for lunch 3/13/25 it has been years since we went thinking quality should be the same. It was not it was god awful we had to go to a gas station after to get candy to get rid of the ugly greasy taste from our mouth and it still lasted hours after. This place used to be nice there is no attempt to keep this place nice and it shows in the form of A run down greasy spoon.The service lady was very nice and thoughtful as we mentioned A discrepancy she addressed it positively without asking. I will say this , the bread pudding was almost as I remembered it and very good but the food was nasty I do not recommend in fact warning you. No wonder they are closing so many Mimi's Cafe's in fact I felt cheated

I will start off with this. The one in arden area is much better then this location. It was a 25 minutes wait that is ok because they was busy. When we got our table it was another 10 minutes wait for our waiter. When our waiter came he took our drinks order and food but didn't get our drinks for 15 minutes. When we got our drink my daughter spilled her water on the table and I start cleaning it up right away. The waiter saw me wrapping the table and decided to put our food on the wet table an didn't even asked if I need more napkins. So I asked for more and never received it. Food was cold when it came out and you can tell in the picture the table was still wet. Even the waiter talked bad about the restaurant. Wouldn't come here or recommend this location.

Dirty! Forget special covid cleaning, they can't seem to keep up with the basics. The bill came in a book covered in greasy fingerprints. My wifes $5 iced cappuccino was topped with COOL WHIP! Eggs Benedict took forever and was LUKE WARM. Save your money and go to IHOP.

Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Over 30 to get our food. Ordered a burger and got an omelet. Was told that I ordered wrong. Got our appetizer with the meal. Was charged for the omelet. Complained, and they discounted the omelet. Complained again and was finally not charged for the omelet. Was there for well over an hour and never got my burger. What a joke!!!!!!!!!

I used to go to the Mimi's in Foster City, Ca it was good. I've moved, so we went to the Mimi's in Elk Grove, Ca. What a disappointment! First off the waitress told my boyfriend they didn't serve bread, I knew that didnt sound correct, in the past at the other location they served bread & muffins. Anyway, we ordered 2 half chickens with sides & a side of shrimp. When dinner came the half of chicken looked like half of a Cornish hen, my boyfriend sent his back, & ordered meat loaf, I kept my dinner. Omg, my chicken was so DRY I could not even cut it, I had to rip at it, there also was no flavor. My boyfriends meatloaf was hard & dry with no flavor. I asked the waitress for bread ( she had told my bf) they had no bread, she said ok, she brought over a basket with of 6 small thin cut pieces of bread that looked as if they were toasted too long in a toaster. This entire dinner was a JOKE & the waitress NEVER brought our shrimp. We couldn't get out of there fast enough & we both agreed we would have had a much better dinner just staying home. * ALSO they were not even busy so really there is no excuse for the awful service & awful food.

Very bad experience I came here because is my best friends birthday the schedule was close at 9:00pm I’m here at 7:55pm the person there yes he’s saying that close nothing else

This is the first time I am here because my friend referred to me. The food is not good at all. I ordered chicken with eggs. The chicken is very dry and precook without any seasoning. I feel I should go elsewhere it’s cost me at least $50.00 fro two but flavor is worse than I small coffee shop that cause me a lot cheaper.

I visited the elk Grove location today since the Natomas location closed. I loved Mimi's café in Natomas and the food was always great. I ordered the Teriyaki grilled chicken Sandwich with fries. My friend had the salmon with Quinoa and a baked potato. My son had chocolate chip pancakes with sausage and eggs. My only complaint is the food was terrible. First, it was cold when I arrived. We asked our waitress to reheat it for us and she was very kind to do so. However, the food was just not tasty. I did not even end up finishing my plate and I'm not sure if it's the location, but I will not go back there again.

We had reservations on Mother's day.at 5:30 pm. We arrived and seated button one came back to great us, offer drinks or give us water. I had to ask for a server. Our food came but only for three people one meal was cold, we ate and were almost completely done and again had to ask for our server to inquire about the other people meals that still had not come out. The first meals were completely done eating and the rest if the food came out. So, they watched us eat, and we watched them eat. Our bill came out in the mid $200 And I n had to ask for the manager some type of compensation for the horrible service and at that point we still had not gotten our deserts.

Nothing against Mimi’s, Amazing customer service and friendly but the food is a no go. We tried this place once for dinner and once for breakfast. I had the pot roast for dinner, you can tell it’s not homemade or they use gravy from a can/jar. Got the French toast with fruit this morning and all the fruit was going bad… rotting and wilting. I think I watch too much Gordon Ramsey stuff lol. 🤷‍♀️ We won’t be returning, I’d rather have McDonald’s. No fresh ingredients, I really hope Mimi’s can turn around.

Had to retreive a water for water, again for menús, again to take our order, and finally for the bill. My food was dry and had onions in my french toast. Nothing i ordered came with onions. The atmosphere was cold and neglectful. Sadly on the way out, there was a sign offering a free muffin for a 5☆ review.

Made a reservation on Thanksgiving. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Another 15 minutes and still no waiter approached our table, so we left. Very disorganized! I normally love Mimi's, but this was not good.

I had high hopes for this place, but I was honestly very disappointed. The food was bland and tasteless, the portions were small, my fries were burned, and the coffee was very bad. The only thing that was good was the mimosas I definitely won’t be coming back.

Ok, so we went on Thanksgiving because many other restaurants were closed. When we got there with our reservations we were told you get turkey take it or leave it. Apparently the advertised Ham dinner was reserved for the people taking food to go. After finally being seated the waiting began. Finally the server runs up to take our order which is interesting as we only had a choice of soup or salad and the required turkey dinner. More waiting and then the plates of cold days old turkey with different piles of brown stuff was thrown down and he runs off. I couldn't eat any of this slop but my friends picked through it and then we waited some more. Finally the waiter runs up and offers our pumpkin pie to go so they could get another group seated at our table to scam them out of their money. Elk Grove has many good places to eat, this isn't one of them .

The food was really not okay. I ordered the citrus salmon for lunch, and what I got was basically 2/3 of a plate filled with salad, with just a small piece of salmon. But the worst part? One of the strawberries in the salad was moldy. And I've already eaten the salad. We told the server, and he replied "okay." When he came back, he told me they had “remade the salad part.” I was honestly shocked. They only remade the salad portion? Not the whole plate? Once there’s mold on the plate, the entire dish is contaminated. I had every right to ask for a new entree. That’s just basic food safe.

So I came with the wife and our daughter because they've been wanting to try this place. The atmosphere is nice. The place was clean, and our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered our food, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. My daughter ordered the turkey pesto sandwich on Ciabatta, and the wife ordered the French burger on sour dough. The food came out fairly fast, and it LOOKED good. ( The keyword is "Looked"). Looks could be deceiving, though. My daughter's sandwich was delicious it was good. My Benedict was alright, not the best I've had. I could have done a better job at home in my own kitchen. The wife's French burger was disappointing, very greasy, and you could squeeze it, and greas juices were dripping all over the place. The waitress was helpful. We sent it back and had them bring out a French dip. This was worse than the burger. It was nasty it was just some meat and bread. The grand total for everything was $64 plus tip. I didn't like that the first line for the tip was 18%. I was wondering cuz when we got there the people that were sitting to the table next to us left a lot of food on their plates I was like that's a waste why would they do that and now I know they did that because the food was not good. Also , my wife got sick from the food when we got home she was nauseous and vomited 🤢. Was going to give at 4 stars, but after she got sick, forget it never coming back heCaswell. I got a mimi's gift card, and I'm now going to throw it in the trash as well.
