reasonable price. great place to grap a lunch and dim sum
Dim sum items are nice and warm! But CASH ONLY tho.
Cheap, delicious, convenient. Friendly service capable of communicating in English
One of my fav. Places to eat. They even have bubble tea.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in NYC. The food makes me happy all the time. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended!!!
Dim sum is great had it for the first time and it was surprisingly different great flavors from other places I’ve had.
Whenever you are in Elmhurst a bad stuff This is place is located in that location. It's there. You can get a cheap and quick Chinese meal at a good price.....!!!
Still reasonable prices for quick Chinese food and dim sum. Great variety!
This place is not bad @ all their food is great specially their beef stew soup with noodles my kids love it! Their price is ok.👍👍👍
Affordable foods and nice service from the lady behind the counters.
Amazing Dim Sum. I go here as an alternative instead of driving all the way to Chinatown. I've been here numerous times and it's in my rotation!
Cheap good food!
Good food, great prices. Chinese food and Dim Sum any time of day.
Fair price and good variety. Great place for lunch.
So much food to choose from and everything is so good, you really can’t go wrong (other than the sushi which I haven’t tried because I would never eat sushi at a Chinese restaurant). I come here at least once a week. My only complaint is that they are closed on Sundays
This Cantonese canteen in Queens; they serve delicious BBQ meats (like roasted duck, char siu and crispy pork), congee, and noodles. They also have a wide selection of dim sum and cooked dishes. Highly recommend this place for authentic Cantonese cuisine!
If you don't have expectations, you will never be let down. Here made me impressed. There is open early morning.Dimsum was better than I thought. Shumai is better than michelin place. I really recommend.
Our go to take out spot in Elmhurst. You can't go wrong with the dimsum, roast meat, or lunch boxes. Affordable too!
The experience at this store was wonderful this is because my sister and I went to the restaurant and went to the store and ordered pig over rice and it was wonderful. The service was fast and the atmosphere can be noisy.
This a great place to pick up some amazing dim sum to go! Please come to Rego Park 💜
Cheap chinese food restaurants. For their price, the taste is super. Cheap, big portion, what else can be better. This place is my saviour on my poor days. LOL. Whenever Im too poor to spend money on fancy food, and too lazy to cook. This is the place I will be go to
Ordered 8 dishes for a work function. Food was ready and on time on the date of pickup. Food was fresh, tasty, and hot for the event. Half trays ordered were veggie fried rice, white rice, chow fun (noodles), vegetable dumplings, shrimp dumplings, beef with brocolli, chicken with brocolli, and sesame chicken. The average price per person was $6. They only take cash.
Tbe atmosphere is very local and commissary like, but it's perfect for what it is. It purpose is great food. A plethora of options when it comes to hot, fresh dim sum; as well as an extensive bar for hot food. Although I went there for sushi, which wasn't available at that time; I left with some amazing dim sum!
A favorite of mine when it comes to quick, quality and affordable meals. In what some may describe as a school lunch style setup, you can get a platter of rice and 3 other "side-dishes" by asking the person behind the counter, all for a low price. It tastes great and is super worth the money. You can also get a large arrange of dim sum from this place. Of course, coming here without any Cantonese/Mandarin can make ordering slightly difficult, but simply pointing and asking for what you want can suffice. Give this place a try if you're ever in the area!
The restaurant has an assortment of dim sum items, large / small orders of fried rice and rice noodles available and 3 or 4 dishes you can choose from an available buffet with white rice for a set price. There is a station to purchase roast pork, barbecue ribs, roast pig and soy sauce chicken. The downside is place is closed on Sundays for religious observance and sometimes they run out of certain food items by 5 pm. They officially close at 7 pm.
My mom and I have been to this place and ordered take out of roast pork, sushi, and soy sauce chicken. The food there was wonderful and tasty. The service was wonderful and that the atmosphere was that there were people in their eating, drinking, talking and others.
My go to restaurant because it's incredibly inexpensive for the amount of food they give you. The food tastes good not only because it's tasty, but because they have so many customer, it's fresh.
Tons of food for a very cheap price. Dim sum and the steam table are hot and fresh at lunch, not as hot or fresh by dinner time so come early. Don't come on Sunday, that day is reserved for worshipping God. Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” And he said, “Bring them here to me.” Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave tomato and egg, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour pork, different dishes with fungus, bamboo shoots, twice cooked pork, shrimp dumplings, dim sum, roast duck, roast pork, and soy sauce chicken to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve takeout containers full of the left over dim sum. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Tonight I took the boys to "FIVE LOAVES AND TWO FISHES CHINESE CUISINE". Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Elmhurst, "Five Loaves and Two Fishes Chinese Cuisine" at 82-72 Broadway is a delightful gem that transports diners to the heart of China with its authentic flavors and warm atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a charming decor that combines traditional Chinese elements with a modern twist. The ambiance is inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, showcasing the richness of Chinese culinary traditions. One standout is their Kung Pao Chicken, which features tender chicken pieces stir-fried to perfection with crunchy peanuts and vibrant vegetables, all enveloped in a savory, spicy sauce. Each bite is an explosion of flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Another must-try is the handmade pork buns, filled with a delectable mixture of pork and vegetables. They are steamed to a delightful softness, served with a tangy dipping sauce that enhances the overall experience. The integrity of the ingredients shines through, exemplifying the restaurant's commitment to quality. For seafood lovers, the Szechuan-style shrimp is a real treat. The shrimp are cooked flawlessly, retaining their juiciness while being enveloped in a perfectly balanced spicy sauce that brings the dish to life. Pair this with their fragrant fried rice for a satisfying meal. The service here is impeccable, with attentive staff who genuinely care about your dining experience. They are always ready with recommendations and ensure that your meal is nothing short of exceptional. To top it all off, the dessert options should not be overlooked. The mango pudding is light and refreshing, a perfect way to conclude a hearty meal. In a city brimming with dining options, "Five Loaves and Two Fishes Chinese Cuisine" stands out for its dedication to authentic flavors, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious Chinese fare. Highly recommended! #onlyinqueens #Fiveloavesandtwofisheschinesecuisine
Cheap and tasty food, but sometimes the food served wasn't hot enough.
Great place for fast and cheap chinese comfort food and dim sum.
Great price for 3($5.75)and 4($6.25) dishes with rice.
Traditional Chinese breakfast and lunch boxes, that serves in good portion of good prices. Like it
Great place to eat Asian food. Very affordable.
Is it me or have the portions gotten smaller? Still tastes good but the portions have gotten smaller.
Good price for tasty food. Usually crowded in morning.
Good variety of dim sums, roasted meat, congees and more.
Has many options and dim sums. Take out or eat in. Confusing ordering and paying or lines You need to ordered your food, pay, then go back with your receipt to pick up your food.
They serve the food fast but the sauces for dimsum are very limited
Affordable food offered in a variety of dishes. Conveniently located, it gets crowded sometimes, but you can also order your food to go.
Good food and service my go to for last takeout 9.00for 4 choices with white rice delicious
Cashier not friendly, food delicious only price is up from $8 to $9.50.
A good place to get cheap Chinese food. There are a lot of tables but they are usually full.
Love this place if you come early in the morning. The foods are fresh and lots of variety. Also the soy milk is great! However, the food qualities decrease as the day goes by. Probably because they make everything in the morning. There is no point coming here after 5pm though, all the foods will be gone. So go early!
Great tasting authentic Cantonese BBQ, i.e. roast duck, soy sauce chicken, roast suckling pig, etc. Great selection of dim sum freshly made as well as a good variety of buffet type food all at a reasonable price. Parking on weekends could be an issue but well worth the trip.
Cheap, fast food but the service is bleh. They don't care whether you stay or go, but you'll get a lot of food for a cheap price. Don't mind the MSG aftertaste and you'll be happy with how cheap your lunch is.
A little hole-in-wall restaurant that serves good Chinese food, in which you get to order full dishes like noodles off the menu, or pick out various dim sum dishes throughout the counter. They also have fresh vegetables, char siu, and other meats that go nicely with their lo mein.
Love this place for some quick and delicious food. The roast pork is some of the best anywhere in NYC. Hit up the steam table for a three or four dish and rice, they are all delicious.
"Fastfood"( you'll be in and out) , "$" and lots of food to choose from. They have bbq station ( roast pig, pork and duck), soup, Dimsum section, desserts, and the variety of dishes from vegetables, meats and fish dishes.we always go here whenever we're in Elmhurst, NY.
A variety to choose items. Descent taste. Service can get a bit delayed due to language barrier. Beats many other buffet style. Different dishes change at times. Pretty popular in-dinning/ take-out. Price does go up but not exaggerated. For sure, at times this place is better than cooking at home. Recommend.
We've been coming here for years and while the prices are bordering almost $10 for lunch per person it's still quite good. They are now closed every Sunday but we make it a point to get there before 11am so we can order out and beat the crowds which can get quite lengthy. Atmosphere isn't stellar but then I'm here for the food. If you don't know how to order just point to the items you would like and they instinctively take it from there. Avoid the soup provided since it is nothing more than MSG riddled flavoring packets of seasoning!
Generally busy place with some seats. They have a good selection of 4 sides with rice and soup. I haven't been disappointed with the food and has been freshly made. You might want to be a little careful if you're a vegetarian as they use the spoon between meats and vegetables. There's no dedicated utensil per dish. What's important to me is that they scoop the food for you, so the customer doesn't contaminate the dishes behind the glass.
Good prices for decent quality food. A great value for dimsum to go. Free parking although the lot can get quite full during weekends. Pickup a box of lunch where you can select 4 different choices rice and soup for $6.25. It feeds 2 easily !!
I love this place. The place may not be presentable, but good deal for your money. Food is pretty good too.
Great place to get a full meal for lunch dinner or add a dish or two to dinner. Traditional Chinese roast meat spot. Great prices. You pay first before picking up your food. Recommend!
I love their roasted ducks 🦆 & sesame chicken 🐓 . Whenever I go to Queens I have to stop by here to get half a duck or chicken no matter what circumstances 😂 . For $15 you get a container full of half chicken and $18 for half a Duck plentiful enough for the week. Their dimsum selections is also good. They only take CASH no Card accepted which is a disadvantage.
Bubble tea and dim sum are good. Multiple selections of foods. If you are looking for a quick stop and go it's good. Especially since it is right next to the market.
Chinese fare lots of choices..6.50 you get four kinds of food choices veges, chicken ,pork or fish, free soup and rice..bathroom is soooo dirty makes you dont want to eat .only issue placr clean the bathroom..
First time here and it was a bit confusing. There are like 3 different businesses here. The food is cheap and pretty good.
You want some options in your food, this is the place to go. Its fairly priced, feels a bit run down, but the food is great for its price. Definetely do go buy food here before 4 PM because the food will run low, I personally get me the spicy tofu, with chicken potatoe, and seafood salad. Of course, you will have to point out the option you will be getting. However, this would be a place you would want to eat from only from time to time.
The food isn't really mindblowing or spectacular, this is just a place where you want your stomach filled with food because you're hungry. The price is below average, so you get what you pay for. They have a variety of Chinese dishes ranging from dimsum to roast pork that is sold per pound. They also do the budget meal most cafeterias provide, where you pick 3 or 4 dishes and add rice or noodles for your starch.
This is one of those Chinese meal box places. You get rice with 3 or 4 dishes and a cup of MSG soup. There's a Chinese Roast meat station, a bubble tea station and a dim sum station. The day I was there the sushi station was closed. The food is serviceable if you want it fast and cheap otherwise there are better options in the neighborhood.
Came here for breakfast, they have dim sum in the morning, the food was ok, nothing special to it. I did not like their lunchbox choices, sometimes I come here for the 2 choice bbq, roasted pork and duck mostly, time to time I do get the bbq pork, it taste decent but low in quantity.
CASH ONLY. The meal is plentiful, you pick four options which could include an entire fish and omelette. Expect to pay $2 extra for the fish. Right in the corner is a sweet station that has stewed concoctions of white fungus, dates, or you guessed it: beans.
Grab dinner here sometimes. $5.50 is cheap and you get 3 different dishes in small portion to go with rice. Tastes average but no complains.
Just ok.. nothing special… the pork n shrimp dimsum were edible and the congee was ok but STAY AWAY from the chicken feet… idk if its suppose to be sweet/sour but i definitely had nothing like that at any dim sum restaurant.. it said honey chicken feet so, at most, i expected a little sweet but ate a couple of bites and i couldnt handle the taste…
Really cheap, but the seafood are not fresh at all. You get what you pay.
If you ever get food delivered from here add another 30 min. To the estimated time. The sushi is also is not with the wait.
We went to the there buy some to eat but Their Food was too Cheap but their Food is not good because it is like to Salty.
Service is poor when too many employees serve hot food section just before lunch traffic, and no one serving dim sum section. Females do not take initiative to walk over to dim sum area, you are left hanging in there until someone walks over there.
If you like your food to be take out quality or consume egregious amounts of bad fat, by all means eat at this place. Their bbq look pretty good though. Never tried, but could be worth sampling.
Watch out for the cashier, she cheated me out of $10 saying that's what I gave her but I did give her $20, so dishonest!
Worst place for dimsum, very rude staff & the food was cold. First & last time i will ever eat here. Do yourself a favor & go to a better dimsum place than this one..
Don’t order “3 dishes and one soup”. Vegetables were not good quality, and they charged $5.75 for this considering their less good cooking.
Went there 3 times the past 2 weeks. The first time i substituted the white rice with noodles. Lady said it'd be an extra dollar ($5.25 is the reg. price with 3 sides and soup.) Food was fine. Second time, same deal. Paid extra for the noodles. Third time i also substituted the white rice with fried rice, only this time i was told it'd be $2 extra. I was confused, but i paid it anyways, however i regret buying the food since it was cold, and definitely not fresh. Even the soup was cold. Needless to say I'm not going to spend my money there anymore.
Pretended to be understanding when I did not have cash on me. She then spoke in Chinese to her coworker and said that she told her not to make the order for someone like me. Don't pretend to be nice to people if you're going to say something racist or with microagressions behind their back thinking they don't understand.
You. And. Your. Language. And your people. Serve them And Respect the delivery guy they. Are not. A joker. Making fun. Of. Them
I'd love to give a zero star response as my service was terrible. Made an order through UberEats at 8:24 because why not, I've been to many other sushi places that have accepted my order even 30 minutes prior to closing because no employee has to physically drive to you, it's the uber driver... However, after waiting close to an hour, I decided to call the store and request some assistance, the lady responded by "no take order, we closed, tomorrow, bye", I barely said any thing and waited for you guys to hang up in my face(which yall did 😀). So my question was, why the hell did you not tell me you couldnt fulfill my order due to closing soon(1 Hour) as soon as I made the order. This is how restaurants die out, terrible communication. Bamboo Ya is a great alternative if you have the option 😇
Don't go to the dim sum store ! Hoping i will enjoy dim sum on weekend, i bought some, hoping it's meat inside ! but instead it's all sticky rice wrapped as dim sum style ! so disappointed !
The food was cold and the food was disgusting and the staff/worker was rude and can’t even get the same food and they want to upcharge me 2 more dollar for the same scope of food I want and I already paid 9 on top already for a 4choice and don’t recommend this place ever since other 4choice I go do let you get the same choice of food for no extra charge
The restaurant is sneaky about how they charge you and what they weigh in front of you. Be careful
Rude server! After ordering worth $40. They only give u 2 soy sauce and when asking for more they say you cant have more soy sauce!
I ordered 6 lunch through Uber eats. They didn’t give any utensils or napkin. I called them, they told me I need to ask.
I bought breakfast dim sum, rice rolls, and hot and sour soup, but they weren’t fresh. Still not giving up, I went back to get four dishes and a soup, but two of the dishes weren’t fresh either. In the end, only the plain rice and steamed egg were edible. So disappointing — I ended up eating bad food first thing in the morning. I won’t be coming back again.
There was times the new serve rice with scab metal small piece inside rice, and i was decide to checked same person ! Hey if rice is safe!? And she gift bad face and throw box foods my ordered food
