My mom and I have come to this place and ordered lots of food like stinky tofu, beef stew, oyster pancake and others. The food was awesome, and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was like there were pictures of famous Taiwan landmarks, and people eating in there and others.

I highly recommended the beef stew noodles soup and popcorn chicken. The beef is tasty and tender noodles cooked just right the broth is good, not salty. The price is reasonable. Definitely will come again! 👍👍👍

Went out for pho and ended up finding this place. Food was pretty good. Loved the beef noodle soup, especially on a cold day. The popcorn squid was really good too

One of my favorites place. Foods are delicious and price is fair. Portions are big. But you need to pay attention about MSG if you avoid it.

Hands down this is one of the best Taiwanese eateries I've seen here in Queens. The taste and quality of the food is comparable with the food in Taipei. Even the place and seating reminds me of home-style restaurants you can find dotting the street corners of Taipei city. If you're in for good Taiwanese food, this is definitely the place for you. Price is affordable and portions are very generous. The dishes range from home-style dishes to typical street fare, such as Stinky Tofu and Fried Intestines. Just note that the place takes cash only, but there are nearby ATMs so it isn't too bad.

Overall the food was 4ish but 5 total for services and the prices. Everything we got was good although my friend said some of them were not that “Taiwanese.” Surprisingly, ✨scallion pancake was delicious. Crispy edge, pretty simple and traditional style. Beef noodles was good, I like it, but my friend said it was not Taiwanese style. If u r not looking for that, then it was still a good one. Stinky tofu here was a fried style. It was good too, didn’t go wrong.

A fantastically authentic Taiwanese food experience! This place is where I frequent when I long for my comforts of home away from home. Their stinky tofu is pungent and the real deal, perfectly fried with some cabbage garnish. I love their snow cabbage with tofu or fish and edamame, perfect to pair with fried rice or knife shaved noodle soup. Don’t miss their jian bing/scallion pancake rolled with egg and basil or beef! You really can’t go wrong, every table around us was really happy with what they ordered! This is a cash only, no frills, mom and pop kinda place, where they serve hot oolong tea with every meal and the food truly speaks for itself.

12/23/23 Update - Looks like the restaurant got renovated! They got new tables and the lighting is much better. We walked in at a weird time between lunch and dinner, so we got a seat of our choosing. The restaurant was dimly lit, and the tables had this weird bumpy cracked texture to it, which was a bit off-putting but I was here to eat and not buy furniture so it was trivial in the grand scheme of things. I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup like everyone else, and it delivered. The broth is definitely more on the clearer side, compared to other, darker and richer beef noodle soups I've had (E.g. Noodlecraft's Braised Beef noodle soup) so it's lighter and more drinkable as a result. The beef in the noodle soup was super tender and flavorful. I threw in some of the pickled cabbage they have at every table and it was a good combo. I would definitely order this again, especially now since the weather is getting colder. I also got their salt and pepper chicken and their lu rou fan, which were both pretty standard. I wish the lu rou fan was saucier, but it was pretty decent and I think they give more meat compared to Taiwanese Gourmet (but you pay more so the math works out). What really sealed the deal for me was how nice our waiter was about answering all our questions about the food, even offering to make the cold cucumber appetizer with more garlic, which is how I like it. I would come again, I really like the food and all you can eat pickled veggies.

Delicious beef noodle soup spot I stumbled into by accident one hungry afternoon. This place is cash only, good thing I asked before I started ordering. Only had $20 on me, so I got the beef noodle soup and cucumber. Everything was delicious, the beef was super tender, the broth was flavorful but not overwhelming or greasy at all. Cucumber was just my attempt to get more veggies in, it was crisp and refreshing. Went back a second time armed with more cash and got a bunch more dishes to try. The beef noodle soup is still my favorite. I took one to go for my picky little brother and he inhaled the whole thing in under 10 minutes. While the noodle soup is probably best eaten at the restaurant, it was still good after 30 minutes in the container. They pack the noodles, beef and broth separately so the noodles don’t get too soggy. Menu is in both English and Chinese. They also speak both languages in there, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t speak Chinese. This place is worth a visit to try authentic Taiwanese style cuisine. One thing to note is that they make stinky tofu at this restaurant. I’ve tried it before when I went to Taiwan and it wasn’t my favorite. Be aware that the smell can be pretty strong if anyone at another table orders it.

A very low key spot tucked away in the corner of Dongan St and Broadway. The beef tendon and beef stew noodle that I had was very hearty. decent amount of chunks of beef.

Finally I tried this place, always been curious ever since last year. I ordered fried rice, seaweed egg soup, shredded beef with pepper and fried chicken cutlet. The seaweed egg soup just a lil bit too salty but other than that its really good. I think the best. Fried chicken cutlet was good, then the shreded beef, how can I say. I like the taste, but I was expecting they cook it lil bit longer, like more burnt/browniesh as that what I always remember about shredded beeef dish from any taiwanese restaurant. Fried rice was okay. I cant complaint.

Happy Stony Noodle sounds like the name of a place for potheads who have late-night munchies. Gotta love them Engrish translations. Anyway, this was a pretty solid Taiwanese spot. Solid enough that I didn't mind the hefty train ride. The Stinky Tofu was one of the better ones I've had. The Oyster Omelette was huge and well-sauced. The Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken didn't come with basil, which was disappointing, but it came SPICY, and that made up for it. Love me some spicy fried chicken. Finally, the dish by which all TW spots are judged: the Red Braised Beef Stew and Tendon Noodle Soup. This was disappointing in that the broth was more tea-based than red-braised (no discernible spices or peppers), but they gave a ton of beef chunks and tendons that were very tender, so points for that. All in all, an okay rendition, but nothing to write home about. Thankfully, everything else we got was on point.

Nice meaty portions of beef and tendon in the noodle soup and the soup had decent flavor. However, the noodles were only okay as they were a tad overcooked and tasted like the mass-produced ones you buy from the market. I was expecting the noodles to be better since they have 'noodle' in their name. The appetizers almost made up for it: crispy scallion pancakes with a slight chew in the center and nicely-flavored crunchy thinly sliced pig ears. We went for a late lunch and the restaurant was dark and cold - not sure if they were trying to save on the utility bills when there are fewer customers but it was a little odd to me (and I don't mind eating in holes-in-the-wall).

The best beef noodle place in town. It's an authentic Taiwanese place with many delicious appetizers (go well with beers). The beef noodle soup is unique here because they use good quality long-shimmered beef cubes unlike other Asian places that typically use too much tendons or the beef stuff (not meat 🥺) the noodle quality is a little inconsistent. You may want to remind them to make it harder if you prefer al dente.

This is my second time here, but my first time trying their rendition of Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup. While they do get bonus points for the bowl of sour cabbage provided for you on each table. Their Beef Noodle soup isn't worth while. It smells fantastic, but the broth itself is on the bland side. Their stinky tofu I found good - ironically it had a very bad lingering smell after you eat it (pretty good thing in my opinion). Their Oyster pancake was good, except it is drowned in sauce. I did enjoy their porkchop over rice as well as their popcorn chicken. But I can't see myself here as often as Taiwanese Gourmet just a block down. The interior is a bit bleak. It doesn't look lovely or all that welcoming. The lighting is low but no real decorations to help it.

This has been my go-to Taiwanese place whenever I'm in town; however, I think my loyalty to this restaurant is wearing out. I went in for a takeout as usual and I had the cash ready. To my chagrin I was told a higher amount due than expected. The owner/manager immediately reacted to my reaction: "Let me give you an updated takeout menu". So the prices of most items on the menu have gone up. To add insult to injury, the takeout containers were now shallower and the division between the compartments were the size of the Panama Canal (see photo)! I know restaurants are cut-throat business, but I am sure the latest maneuver must have turned away many old timers, including myself. For that I am taking away 1 star. I would still come back for the "#32 Taiwanese Style Pork Soup" (肉羹) which is a well known Taiwanese snack. If Stinky Tofu and Oyster Pancake are too exotic for you, and Minced Pork Rice and Salt & Pepper Chicken Nuggets seem like a cop-out (too safe), then this could be your middle of the road pick for Taiwanese cuisine. The English name doesn't do the dish justice. The soup is thick and infused with bonito flakes and the pork is coated with grounded fish paste, yielding a very tender and addicting texture. Topped with cilantro, and you have a dish to die for.

Looking at other reviews. Decided to give this a try Did we eat in the same place? Food and Service was below average. The beef and tendon noodle soup lacked flavor. The broth was weak. The noodles were too soft and mushy. The cumin lamb noodles were okay. Not great and not bad. Big portion though. Oyster omlette had maybe 4 oysters in there? And the sauce was too much. I can make better oyster omlette at home. The fried intestines were pretty good. Overall the food was disappointing. Only 1 waitress. Tea was never refilled.

I don't really know why the waitress gave me the bill when my food served to the table just 5 mins? My daughter with her Dad came here a lot now I doubt the quality of this Restaurant. I knew the Taiwanese cook and the owner of the place were gone so made the noodle and fried pork chop taste style totally changed(WORSE than before),even though it's fine, but no service here food is not that good so I don't recommend here. I would rather go to Taste Good Restaurant and will never come back. Plus $5 tip for the dine in order #31 with $21 bill,I don't want you guys said I am picky customer so no service deserved. The blame is on you,not me😊
