This place has the best tasting steaks. When I go here I go in and order my stark medium and it comes out perfect. Add a little chimichurri and you're done
Get the skirt steak sandwich for a quick bite to eat! I usually get two after a good workout!
I highly recommend this place for their steaks I have been going there since the 80s it's better than any commercialized steak house I have been too and it's reasonable place. And try the skirt steak it's off the wall guys
SO GOOD! I LOVE their Beef Empanadas, if you’re in the area, you should definitely grab a bite here.
They give you exactly what they say. Simple and to the point Argentinian food. No nonsense delicious Argentinian food. The steak Parillada is cooked perfectly.
Can't go wrong with this place...consistency at its best. They hit the mark every single time....great food, good service.
Great food, meet place but even the fish is delicious, Also the servive is grat waitress are very nice and Professional... I recommende ... 😍😍😍 Ricardo mondello
I was invited there as a guest with an Argentinian friend. This skirt steak as absolutely fabulous. This is a place to go back to and rediscover by ordering something different every time.
This restaurant is still the best. The staff is just as wonderful as always. I feel bad that they have less business due to the city's COVID restrictions. I'm sure soon they will be just as busy again serving their great meals and steaks.
My favorite steakhouse, by far. Top meat quality, always prepared to perfection. Excellent side dishes. Reasonable prices.
literally my favorite place to go eat a good steak ... been coming here for over 10 years ... it NEVER disappoints ... sangria is AMAZING, appetizer are great and main dishes are even better ... really friendly staff... definitely a must go for anyone who's looking for quality food
Authentic traditional food. Some of the best grilled meat I've had in the city. I mean it. Not fancy but these guys are no joke. You got a meat craving, head here quickly.
Excellent Argentine food, good service, laid-back atmosphere, and reasonable prices. I recommend it, I think you won't be disappointed.
The BEST Argentine food in town. It's not a ritzy restaurant if that's what you want your in the wrong spot. Otherwise you'll enjoy great food a great wait staff. It's as if you were at home getting meal....
Really good morcilla and asado de tira, just like in Argentina :) The waitresses spoke to me in Spanish the whole time I was there. 10/10
Have been going here for years and never disappoints. Always a great meal no matter what you order and perfect service. 5 stars all around!
I love being at this nice quiet place. The food is awesome as always and will bring u back for more. Enjoy the parrilladas which are my favorite beside the other plates.
The food was delicious 😋, the waitresses a love and super attentive Without a doubt I would go every weekend to eat I loved the Argentine atmosphere I highly recommend it ❤️
Local place with great food; eat in or take out. Local clientele, very authentic, traditional Argentine fare. Must try the morcilla and the steak sandwiches. Get dessert next door at the Rio de La Plata bakery with outdoor cafe - very good coffee there and lots of tasty treats.
You can never go wrong eating here! Food is amazing!! Always fresh. The location is small but worth the wait. Parking in the area can be hard to find.
If you are seeking genuine argentine cuisine this is the best place. Simple decor, but don't let that decisive you every dish and fresh meat for asados are great! Will recommend this place to everyone
Food and service...they are brilliant. The meat terrific and delicious. Mushed potatoes extremely perfect. The waitress and her service...promptly, polite and very educated.
Been going here for 25 years and never had a bad meal. Service is excellent. Highly recommended. Depending on time you go there may be a wait.
Food ,service was great . The skirt steak I ordered was phenomenal Probably going back in a few weeks
One of the most authentic argentine butcher shops and restaurants you can find! A little slice of Argentina in Queens!
Really good and tasty food! The service it's great and the place is nice and clean. Thank you so much for all your tasty food and the good service.
Amazing staff!!!, thank you Iris.for making my birthday celebration one of the best ever, your service is the best!!!, no wonder you have been there for 18 years!!! For we'll be back!!!
Great steaks and good service, not a fancy steakhouse but very much worth it. They have a butcher shop that sells great cuts of meat (beef) for the diy crowd
One of the men behind the counter seems miserable not very patient or nice
Always a great experience in here. Steak is consistently great, the sandwiches are wonderful, and the service was both quick and friendly. I don't live in the area anymore, but any time I am it's on my must-visit list
My favorite Argentinian Restaurant by far! I love the fact that its affordable! the highlights are the sweetbreads sandwich and steak sandwich. Their empanadas are excellent. I also like the fact that they sell freshly made sausage and other Argentinian food that can be cooked at home. Highly recommend this restaurant!
The food here is always fantastic. Very authentic. Great prices, big portions, very high quality meats. The wait staff is very attentive. My family has been going here for years and years. We all love it!
Love this restaurant, great food, great service. We highly recommend.
This place is by far the best Argentinian restaurant I've ever gone to. My father grew up in the area and has gone here since he was young. We still come here every time I am in the states. Their empanadas are the best I have ever eaten, every meal comes with free sausage and bread, the staff is extremely friendly, and all the food is 100% delicious. This place has been a traditional family place for a long time, and I don't intend on it leaving the traditions any time soon
Been going to this place for years. Abad and Tony who manage the place know their meats. Miguel grills the steaks to perfection. A must for steak lovers on a budget.
Great place for asado or other Argentinean favorites. Relaxed atmosphere and good staff
I love this place. I always bring my family to eat here. Food and staff are amazing. This place won’t let you down. The quality of meat is top notch. The price and quantity of food they give is seasoned. I would recommend this place to any. Even if you’re from the outer boroughs.
I loved it - steakhouse quality steak, at diner prices and ambiance. Great chimichurri sauce, heavy with garlic, on each table. Great selection of cuts, and if you are on a budget, the combo platters let you sample a few different cuts at a very reasonable price. Filled with locals, both Argentinian and other, along with cops and other people who know about the secret. I also bought two plates of short ribs from the butcher counter for a large family gathering, and it was amazing too. I don't know where they get their meat but it's great, and they know how to handle it. Vegetarians tricked into coming here should lie low! Highly recommended.
Omg delicious. Our skirt steak dinner was so good. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Parking is rough in this area. We drove around for 15 minutes before we found an open spot
Modest, no-frills argentinean steak restaurant. Great, fresh, tasty, well-cooked steak and other meats with simple, but well-prepared side dishes plus wine and other delicacies. Affordable. Good customer service. Lucia and Marcela are great. Great bang for your steak-bucks. Highly recommend.
I admit, I was skeptical going in because of how great El Gauchito is, right across the street, but Esquina Criolla is fantastic. The milanesa de pollo is reminiscent of those I grew up with in Buenos Aires, service was good, papas provencal were excellent. The ONLY complaint would be that the empanadas are better at El Gauchito, but they still aren't BAD here.
The food has always been excellent, the place hasn't changed ever, maybe a little remodeling would help the atmosphere a little, some servers are great, some not so. Food tastes great.
The churrasco at this place is excellent! Far and away the best I’ve had in quite some time. I had their entrana para 2 personas, and It was more than enough food. We even left food that’s how much It was. I also had their blood sausage (morcilla) and their Argentinian sausage (chorizo) and both were excellent. This is a place you probably pass by every single day, without knowing that inside awaits the best skirt steak in Queens!
Great place good people delicious food Sangria was delicious and the steak was so juicy . The atmosphere was very family friendly and the service was great. You can eat here for breakfast lunch and dinner that's how good it is.
I always visit the restaurant and it is quite a pleasant experience. I went to La Esquina Criolla on Saturday with my family. Luciana took care of us. She had our table ready for six people. We enjoyed the vino de la casa, nine empanadas, which are the best, and two combinations for the gang. As bonus, my family and I enjoyed next table a fine man and his family celebrating his 90th birthday. The servers sang the happy birthday song and we all applauded congratulating the nice fellow. Incredible experience, excellent food, and fantastic service. Luciana, I will see you soon. Obrigado!
I come here on the reg. The best by far. Even my children enjoy eating here. They specialize in grilled meats. Flavor is off the charts, friendly service, and for the quality the price is very low.
The best Argentinean food !!! All the staff super friendly!!! Excellent food !!!!
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Feels like being at home. The steaks are top notch; cooked to perfection, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Recommend the combo <<Entraña y Tiras (Skirt steak and Short Ribs)>> with fríes. The cheese cooked on the grill is delicious. The place has decent wines, too.
The restaurant delivers real value for the price. Such attention to flavor profiles. My taste buds were completely amazed. The team was exceptional, highly focused and delightful. This restaurant earns my constant backing.
I spent one of my birthdays at this spot and had a wonderful time. The restaurant lives up to the chatter. This restaurant knows good taste. The employees displayed consistent friendliness. Visit this restaurant - you'll become a repeat customer.
On behalf of The Center for the Women of New York, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to La Esquina Criolla for their generous and delicious donation of empanadas to our Taste of the World at Fort Totten gala. La Esquina Criolla’s empanadas were, as always, a huge hit—flaky, golden pastry wrapped around savory, well-seasoned fillings. Each bite was packed with authentic flavor and made with the kind of care and tradition that keeps guests coming back for more. It’s no surprise that their empanadas have become a beloved staple at our event! We’re so grateful for La Esquina Criolla’s ongoing support and dedication to our cause. It’s because of wonderful local businesses like theirs that we’re able to raise essential funds to support women across New York. Their continued generosity makes a real difference in our community. We highly recommend La Esquina Criolla for their consistently delicious empanadas and their big-hearted commitment to giving back. Thank you for helping make our event a success yet again
Very casual place for good beef cuts. Ihad the short ribs and beef tongue here.
I've been coming to this non-presumptive Argentinian steak house since the 90's. It has probably been around since the mid to late 70's or even before that. And that's because they have retained the repeat clients and new one's because of how good their steaks and prices are. Their steaks are "scrumptuous." I have a sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and the Russian salad with a glass of red house wine, and I leave very satisfied each time. And can't wait till the next time that I can go for a juicy perfectly cut and quality steak cooked over fire.
Waitress was rude but rest of the staff was great. Food was served quickly and they were very kind to help me choose the meal. Amazing food! Waitress wouldn’t let me eat inside since I walked in but ordered my food Togo. Usually you can take a quick bite inside a restaurant. This one was pretty empty but she said I am not allowed to eat there so I left. She was also rude in the beginning as well.
Love this place, I come here for years and I always recommend 👌 ❤ for meat lovers. Sangria is awesome food im surprised they don't have a bigger spot but I guess that's how they keep such a great quality. To the owner a siber hand shake 😆. Felicidades y gracias por su local y buen servicio y calidad de comida.
My wife is from Argentina and she needs her fix of Argentinian food. She likes this place the best out of all the Argentinian restaurants. Perfectly grilled and tender meats. Great tasting sangria to go with your food. Always get a grill of meats for 2 or 4 people depending if it's just me and her or 2 other people with us. I love their skirt steak, it was cooked exactly how I requested. Side of maduros and morcilla and I'm in heaven.
This place has great steak! I had the entraña for two, they cook the steak to your liking. The give you bread and and chorizo parrillero as an entry. The price is not expensive for the amount of food and service. The chimichurri is delicious! 5 stars for sure. My family comes here all the time.
Price is good, portion are right, the taste great. Staff is attentive and courteous. There's great attention to the order and the food. Dessert, great end to a great dinner experience.
This Argentina spot serves as a butcher shop as well as a restaurant, so you could stop by to take meat home or stay for the amazing carnes a la parilla (grilled steak). For starters, we ordered the beef and spinach baked empanadas. For the main dish, we shared la entrana de ternera y tira de asado (veal flank steak and short rib). The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor!
Good food. Service was slow took about 20 minutes to take our order and wasn't that busy. Doubt it will be your experience. Would come back.
If you like to eat meat this is place were you got go, the barbecue preparation are excellent so should joined the food plus the drinks and you can buy everything for you on barbecue as well.
Been going there for years , fresh meat since is a meat market. Very good blood sausage , tripe and ribs , try the parillada for two , good variety of meats.
The food is good but there aren't a lot of options in the menu, Argentinean style meat cuts and barbeque
Nothing fancy about this place. Food is simple great and straight to the point. I love their sausage appetizer.
Really good food, decent price. They have good cuts of meat. The empanadas are also good. Have been 2 times already, will return on the near future.
Great place for empanadas and parilladas! Their choripan is delicious! Prices are reasonable, service is okay nothing beyond. Finding parking around here is difficult so be aware of that.
My first time eating here, food was great, but the wait time.... omg. 😤😒🙄😭⏳⌛️ Way too long, like a good 20-30 minute wait (& it wasnt THAT busy...). Nice customer service though. Would recommend this place, unless youre starving & youre hangry✌🏼
I have been frequenting this establishment for about 15 years. I do not go for the service. I do not go for the ambiance. I go for the skirt steak sandwich. Personally, I order it plain (just the skirt steak with a bit of salt on a hero), but there are many ways to customize it according to taste. Def worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.
La Esquina has been here as long as I can remember. 40-50 years. I’ve lived in the the neighborhood most of my life. Service exceptional. Food fantastic. I come regularly for their empanadas chicken and ground beef and they have fried beef. But anything you want here you can not go wrong.
Good food a bit small inside feels crowed, service is decent
Affordable high quality steak. No fancy look, no fancy prices, ran by nice people, who just do their job, and want people who eat at their place to leave happy. I can’t say that this is the best steak I had in my life in New York, but I can tell you that I had a great steak here, and had a great experience visiting this quiet and local restaurant.
The first time I ate at this place I thought it was amazing, the empanadas and parrillada were espectacular. The second time around I was somewhat disappointed, the empanadas were not as good as before , the crust was not crispy and the stuffing lacked flavor. The parrillada had some pieces of meat that were tasty while others were dry and flavorless. The service is always good and this is reason I gave this place a 4 star rating.
A friend bought empanadas from this place to a party I attended, and I was thrilled with the taste sensation and amount of stuffing each variety features. I picked up some for my family one time when in the neighborhood, and everyone agreed they were great, especially compared to some we had at restaurants that claimed to specialize in empanadas.
La Esquina Criolla has been on our bucket list. We were eager with protein, meat in a Sunday afternoon and decided to try this place which served solid Argentinian barbecue with convenient grab and go by phone. We ordered La Parrillada for 2 and the portion was more than enough for 3-4 people with great price. The sides were not special but were perfect add-on to the entrees. The quality of meat wasn’t the best and even had coppery smell but tasted delicious especially with their unique sauce.
Regular Argentinian food. Prices are little high, for the price Queens offers better places
I gave a 3 stars review mainly for the food. I ordered Parrillada Completa para 1 and Ensalada. First come appetizer bread + butter and I have no idea what it was, sliced meat. That was really good. Then, the main course Parrillada Completa came. The steak is okay, cant complaint, but the rest was very standard. They didnt come with any salsa, i was expecting they came with green or red sauce. Well i was very highly anticipated because got recommended by my Argentinian friend, but probably this is just not for me. Maybe i will give another chance to order another dish next time.
Very disappointed. Based on the reviews I expected to have amazing food. It was mediocre. No one there is helpful unless you ask. Waiting around 10 mins for someone to help us order take out. Waiter was heating customer food in the microwave lol. Yeah, not worth it.
The cooks charred my food, they are not an authentic argentinan parrirada, it looks like the owners are out of town and the service is mediocre. The cooks weren't even looking after the grill. Overpriced
The food its okay, but the service is terrible!!! The waitress had very bad energy to serve us because she was watching TV!! never again!
Went to buy some tripe to go. Waitress "took my order" and asked me to wait for half and hour but WHOEVER was taking care of the grill, DID NOT pay any attention or asked me how I wanted my order. After waiting for more than 6 or 7 minutes for him to at least make eye contact, I left the restaurant very frustrated.
Over priced and for the $110 I paid they had the NERVE to give me mashed potatoes and mixed up my order. Good think I opened bag in my car, had to go back for my ensalada rusa.
Did not like this place at all ... This place needs a remodeling or something.... When you go to the area of the restroom it's like you walked into a sewer.... The server was ok not great at all they sell a beer like it's a fancy and luxurious place .. their beers should not be more than $3 or Max $4 a piece, actually $4 is too much.
Rude staff, food ok nothing special, no outdoor dinning. I rather go to El Porteño in Manhattan. Tiny restaurant with too many rules for dinning , I rather pay more and get better service.
I went with my family last Sunday and they gave us an uncomfortable table, my pregnant daughter was uncomfortable, we asked to change tables, they had 2 available and they told us that we have to wait at least 20 minutes, we better leave, the waitress does not deserve even $1 of tips. very indignant.
