Stumbled in after deciding the dumplings around the corner have become insanely booji, and couldn't be happier. Good quality, service, and priced well. The chirashi don is 🔥 but then we tried the sashimi deluxe and it's 🔥🔥.

Amazing!!! Happy hour deals are Only $5 for full orders of many types of sushi! All the food here is truly a delicious work of art. Kyu2 takes sushi up to its highest, best level and with outdoor seating, a nicely decorated interior with secluded tables and bar side seating (all areas spotlessly clean) they have what you want for quiet get together or after work drinks and meals with your friends. The staff are friendly and very helpful. (I even noticed a waitress hugging a regular female customer as a greeting.) I talked with Chef Nui and felt his passion for doing it all the right way and "using his heart" to make his food/art creations (like the dragon artwork sushi I posted a photo of). Do yourself a favor and go try it now.

Consistently good, friendly , respectful. I could imagine to be in Japan when I dine here. This is a regular spot - I eat here with my daughter, who is a student at Berkeley- she loves it too.

A tiny spot with big flavor and decent prices. They have a happy hour with several classic hand rolls and I was surprised at their large size. Their specialty roll menu was large with lots of options both classic and interesting. Their miso soup was absolutely delicious - a must try.

This is the first time I been here I got to say the volcano roll was delicious if your looking to have something spicy and delightful this is the roll to order. Not just that they also have options for vegetarians Yummmm……. My boyfriend got the veggie roll if your looking for something more sweet and less dramatic with flavor this is your roll to order. Highly recommend this place the service was slow but we did not mind because we like to take our time also well we were waiting she gave use some complimentary miso soup that was very nice of her. 😌🍣

Super delicious sushi with great presentation. I mean amazing presentation on their signature rolls. The chef is truly an artist. I always enjoy coming here and I always get a great meal. Highly recommended and not to be missed. The decor is a mix of traditional woods with Japanese items, plus more modern things like TVs. Personally I think they could get rid of the TVs. They make the place less elegant and below the level of the food they serve. They have outside seating for good weather, and there is a small garage across Hollis from the restaurant.

Excellent little spot for sushi. The owner opened up early for us because we had to catch a flight right after lunch. The sushi was exceptional, both in taste and presentation. Highly recommended!

one of my favorite sushi places. it helps that i love so close by! super cute restaurant and a nice outdoor area for when i dine with my doggy. staff are all super nice and attentive and they’re really efficient even when it’s busy (usually weekend evening). bento lunch boxes are really good and filling and i like that i can choose from a variety of menu items. i love the spicy tuna, emery roll, and takoyaki here.

Delicious food!!! We got the dragon roll, the sweet potato fries, shrimp tempura roll, cherry blossom roll, sake, and the spider roll. We went during happy hour (a nice surprise), which has great offers, 4-7 pm. The art with the sauces is sooo pretty and also nice surprise. 🥰 and the service was absolutely excellent! Everyone is kind and attentive and a great atmosphere. 10 out of 10! Thank you very much!

Everything we tried was just okay. We went there at 5 p.m., no customers but us. The service was very slow. The atmosphere was so cute! You can sit inside and outside. The happy hours are nice! The presentation on each dish is excellent. The taste and freshness on sashimi could be better.

Everyone was very nice. Wasn't impressed with the food though. The sushi rice was too tough and the chicken was very chewy.

Word of caution...I think they had a change in ownership or quality. Overall very disappointed and definitely did not meet expectations. The restaurant floor was extremely dirty. There are items missing from the menu like udon (there are pictures online of udon, noodles, etc). Happy hour is not that good of a deal. I'm currently praying that we didn't get food poisoning and regretting we put that fish in our system. Pray for us.
