Great food and loved the outdoor patio seating where we sat with our Great Pyrenees
We LOVE Plant Power. This location is conveniently located off the I-5, it has parking, self ordering machines, a drive thru, and of course in-restaurant dining and ordering. I swear this location back in the day was a gas station, but they did an amazing job converting it. The food Plant Power offers is just like McDonald’s but better and vegan. There is nothing on their menu I would not recommend. If you haven’t already give them a try. Also their staff is incredibly nice.
My boyfriend was skeptical about coming here, but once he took a bite his face lit up lol he couldn’t believe how good it was. I got one too and they were so delicious with lots of flavor. I loved their fries as well! The food is little pricey but you get what you pay for. Good food is an investment and this was worth it.
First time here, finally. As with pretty much all plant based foods, it's a little pricier, but overall the flavor was really good. It's a walk-up place and self serve kiosk ordering. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and a blueberry drink. All pretty good and a little over $15. Served quickly at walk up window. Will be back.
Favorite fast food place ever. The Big Zac is better than any other non-vegan fast food burger I've ever had except maybe In n Out. I'm not even a vegetarian or a vegan and this is my go to fast food place. Employees are friendly, the prices are maybe a little more than average fast food place but nothing crazy. Service is pretty quick and I've had them screw up an order. All the sauces are tasty and the onion rings are bomb.
I love this place. Every breakfast item is excellent. I'm not a fan of the burgers, both black bean and beef are kind of meh, but the chicken is great. Try the shakes. Peanut butter flavor is amazing and every monthly flavor has been great.
Always delicious and fresh. Definitely vegan, but not necessarily healthy, this place scratches the itch for comfort food when needed. The Rambler and the "bacon" "cheese" burger are favorites, and their fries are great! The shakes are also very good. Overall, this is a great go to if you are craving something "bad".
So delicious. My family eats a regular diet and they love eating here. I know they are known for their burgers but I love the chicken sandwiches ask for Buffalo sauce on the side. And treat yourself upgrade to a shake cookies and cream is my fav.
I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but it was great. Tried the "chicken" sandwich & the epic fries (not what they're called but they'll know). The pressed juice was delicious! I wish they were closer, more fast healthy options are needed in today's lifestyle! They have a drive thru!
This place is amazing! I have been saying for years why don't they have a drive thru vegan place. Food is so good "milk" shakes are delicious and they even have a vegan big mac, called the big Zac which is awesome because we all grew up eating big macs and it legit tastes exactly like one - it's huge & filling though so if you don't / can't eat a lot definitely skip the fries!
Driving from LA and saw this place, stopped by and I'm sure glad we did !!! I had the Iconic Burger and my wife had the Chicken Sandwich with BBQ sauce and...... IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! We got a order of fries as well they were piping hot and crispy !!! I totally recommend this place and I'm stopping by when I head back to LA. Sorry no pics, next time 🤣🤣🤣
Great food. I had the Big Zac and if was really good with a tasty sauce for it. The sweet potato medallions were thin and taste great, but next time I would probably get a thicker fry because I like the thicker texture. The best part was looking at the menu, and being able to order anything on the menu and it's all vegan.
Really great place for quick vegan food. The fries taste like McDonalds fries way back when they were actually good. The burger was impressive. I wish they had Plant Power in Chicago, but I'll definitely return once I'm back in town.
There is a woman who works here that always has a smile. She is always so kind. I love that there is no meat or dairy so I can order whatever I want without dissecting the ingredients! The food is tasty, it's expensive, but worth it.
This is, by far, my favourite vegan fast food. It doesn't even taste like a fast food experience, it's just that good. The Buffalo wings are worth dying for, honestly. The wait time is usually pretty reasonable, and the food is so good. Prices are really incredible for the quality of the food. I can easily eat there every day if I lived closer. Do yourself a favour and order two orders of the Buffalo wings because you love yourself.
I've never had Vegan food but I am a fast food junkie. I drove by this place and stopped in to see what they recommend. The person at the counter suggested the Buffalo 88 "chicken" Wrap. It was delicious. I will be back, especially since I have a conscience of not wanting to eat animals and it's conviently located off the freeway. No interior dining room, only patio. So visit on a sunny day!
Elena went above and beyond when helping us and was extremely pleasant to speak with while waiting for our food. Always great stopping by, love their shakes!
What’s not to like? Delicious, fast, better for you and the environment! Beautiful outdoor seating
I have been wanting to go here for a good minute. Its awesome to see a vegan place have a drive-thru rather than just being another temporary food truck. In terms of taste, the burgers are good! I had the bacon cheeseburger and I absolutely love the bacon (I think its beleaf). The chicken nuggets are good with the sauces but the nugget itself lacks a little flavor (maybe paprika, garlic powder, and salt?) in the batter but otherwise is an awesome addition to the meal. Soda is tasty, I had the blueberry soda and it was pretty yummy and unique. Overall a great meal, would go again.
Right off the highway was continent. Absolutely great fast food! Loved everything we got! So fast so fresh so good!
I used to enjoy Plant Power! I love the concept of it and think we need more plant-based/vegan food options. However, I think the quality has gone down a bit the last few times I’ve been there and it is too expensive for what it is in my opinion. I think to be fast food it has to be affordable, and it shouldn’t cost over $20 for a meal. I hope they lower their prices!! I’d go there more often!
So delicious!! Totally vegan! Plenty of gluten free options! I highly recommend the beyond meat patty and ALL of the burgers! Their chicken sandwiches are delicious as well! Not in the mood for a meal (made when you add their awesome fries!)? Grab a "milkshake" or a slice of their better than cheesecake as a tasty treat! No matter what you choose- plant power will deliver both in taste AND service!
Vegan Bacon cheese burger was the best tasting vegetarian burger I ever had (and I have had dozens of different ones). Fries were great too! Outside seating area needs more frequent bussing/cleaning. Great location. My nephew is super picky eater and loved the chicken nuggets so much he made me drive 45 minutes to take him back a few days later.
Excellent! What a great find! The Southwest Avocado Wrap was delicious and the people were super nice. So was the price! I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, so, of course, I was skeptical. I was fully impressed and satisfied. I will be back!
The food is good, and the outdoor patio is a nice place to sit and eat. I had reservations about going to a plant based food place but it is really good, that I’ve been back multiple times.
I know they are in the soft open stage and they are working through some POS issues and such, I am sure they will work those issues out before the grand opening! More importantly the food and environment! The food is Great my favorite is The Big Zac, delicious! the outdoor seating is great there are plants all around you, like eating in a garden! If you drive near the Santa Fe Dr, Encinitas exit definitely worth checking it out!
Almost "too real" Vegan fast food. We tried: The Buffalo ’66 Sandwich Crispy battered buffalo ‘chicken’ breast, ‘ranch’ dressing, lettuce and tomato $7.95 'Fish' Filet Sandwich Crispy breaded 'fish', American 'cheese', tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato $7.95 Kaleslaw Creamy southern style slaw made with organic kale, carrots and cabbage $2.50 Fountain Drink 12oz. $2.00 / 16oz. $2.50 / 20oz. $2.95 Fair Trade Lemonade / Organic Black Tea / Natural Lemon Lime Soda / Natural Blueberry Soda / Natural Root Beer / Natural Cola Everything was good and to be sure their food quality is better than any typical fast-food chain. The faux fish was almost disturbingly "too real" in taste, texture, and aroma. They really have nailed making a convincing flaked fish patty analog. The chicken patty isn't quite as convincing but ous very good. The slaw and soda were good. We would go back again. Bon Appétit. 😀
I always like to cruise through the drive-thru and get my bacon cheeseburger. It's freaking amazing! The service is always friendly as well. But damn, I'll even skip breakfast and come here to treat myself for lunch and it never disappoints. I don't know if it's the healthiest vegetarian fast food, but I love my bacon cheeseburger. It's a little Slice of Heaven on earth. Yum yum!
Great vegan place and the shakes are amazing! Can’t tell things are vegan truly taste great. Great for vegan and non vegan to enjoy. Must try!
This location has a nice outdoor seating area. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. Milkshakes here are awesome! The Western burger is my favorite, but the wraps are good as well. Fries can be a bit salty, but they are really fresh.
This place is great, super convenient, fast service, and absolutely delicious food on a fantastic menu. I only have two main complaints. I really wish they carried diet sodas because many of us are vegan/vegetarian for health reasons, and sugary drinks are the worst. I also wish the staff wouldn't give the stink-eye when selecting "no-tip" at the drive-thru. I'm all for asking for tips because people who can afford it should be encouraged to give a little extra, but many of us can't afford to give an extra $5 tip on top of an almost $20 drive thru order, so being treated a little rudely by the staff for saying no seems ridiculous. Despite this, I fully recommend this restaurant, and hope it spreads further around the country.
David gave EXCELLENT customer service just now and was very professional, conscientious and kind! Give that young man a raise!! Don’t want to lose a great employee like him!! Part II: Shockingly, you just wowed me AGAIN (5 days later and another visit to SoCal)!! 😳 I didn’t think it could happen twice, but Marisol just gave us such excellent service with a complicated order. I always feel like an idiot with my special orders, but she made me feel like it was NO PROBLEM and made me feel comfortable when she told me she does special orders all the time. She was so friendly and happy, she just elevates your mood talking to her!! I don’t know what it is about this location, but the culture MUST be great to have 2 different employees give such great service that really went above and beyond!! Kudos to the Encinitas location for being so personable, helpful and having great interpersonal skills!! 👏🏼 I’m very impressed and grateful!! 🙏🏼 Oh, the food is great, too!! 😂👍🏼 Part III: After my part II review, we had forgotten to get onion rings so we came back later that night, just before closing, and were wowed again by Elena. She was personable, funny and professional! It’s definitely the culture at this location!! Keep up the great customer service, it brings customers back!!
Absolutely loved my visit. Visiting plant power hits me with nostalgia from when I was a kid. The staff is very positive, welcoming, and willing to take the time to answer all of your menu questions. I absolutely love their menu and have had many of their options, yet keep going back to their good ol’ cheeseburgers and milkshakes. Highly recommend their snow days as well!
"OMG"! this is the best place to eat vegan food!! Their blueberry soda is caffeine free and no sugar! Very delicious and recommended 100%
I love the new munch wrap extreme!! <3 marisol is lovely!! There's a really cool white guy idk his name, also one of the mexican men working idk his name forgot the avocado in my big papa breakfast burrito and marisol fixed everything AMAZINGLY 10/10
Nice to have some good and tasty options for vegetarian and vegan guests. Would highly recommend. Just wish they had an indoor dining room.
Fantastic chicken wrap and burger.. will be trying more stuff on the menu . My 2nd time here. Super yummy
Unique in finding a vegan fast food restaurant. Food is always good. I generally drive thru so can't speak to a sit down experience, which I think is limited to patio only.
What a surprise coming from the east coast to find a VEGAN FAST FOOD RESTAURANT! See the menu board photo. I wanted to try everything, but companion had a crispy “chicken” wrap that was fresh and delicious, and I have the holy guacamole burger, with a beefy patty. The other option is a hippie patty, which I have never had, but I imagine is made of beans or greens. The beefy patty tasted like an impossible burger. The burger had lettuce, guacamole, cheese (vegan) and chipotle sauce. They did not have any diet soda, which I should have expected, the beverages are all organic I gather. They were nice enough to provide ice water. Would definitely come again and I remain amazed that a place like this exists. Maybe there is hope!
So Delicious. The people who work there are so Kind. The Food is so yummy. I Love that it's All vegan and everyone who eats meat likes it too. Everyone can go there and Have the Best meal Together. It's Great to order online and pick up on way to work. Naseem who works there is Always polite. Service with a smile. Thank you so much.
Most excellent plant-based vegan fast food joint! Lots of selections! We had their "Chicken" Caesar Wrap and Southwest Avocado Wrap. Absolutely Loved the Caesar Wrap although the Avocado wrap was also good. Took home two Peanut butter pies. So rich! This chain is the real whole food plant based deal. At the Encinitas location they have walk up service as well as a convenient drive through. There is also a delightful seating area out front. They do have highchairs for the kiddos, too. I thought their prices were very reasonable. We will be visiting many of the other locations in SoCal and highly recommend them to you.
I love this place and the smores snow day was a 12/10!! The Buffalo chicken is ALWAYS great The Nashville hot was great with their Chipotle and ranch sauce. The Big Zac is better than the inspiration js The California burrito is so fresh!! Will be back again and again Highly recommend the blueberry soda
My absolute FAVORITE vegan fast food joint ever!!! They literally have all your nostalgic childhood McDonald’s dupes properly veganized and they bring it! Feels so good that everything you are eating hasn’t harmed a single creature in the making, and you get all your nostalgic junk food memories satisfied, and super ono! Thank you plant powered, I wish there were a thousand more locations!
Finally got to try their breakfast menu! If you are plant based or trying to eat less meat and miss fast food breakfast sandwiches fret no more! So delicious and satisfying, the crispy hash browns really made it a complete meal and experience. Thank you for existing Plant Power, I had the best nostalgic meal!! -'Sausage, egg & cheese' muffin -Breakfast Burrito
The vegan cheeseburger I had was great! Lots of lettuce that was a bright green, nice tomatoes, and lots of pickles, which made me very happy! I had enough for each bite. The sauces were plenty, and drippy, which worked for me! French fries are very thin, not greasy. I tried a bite of the animal fries and those were super yum! Only sadness, the two things I wanted to try both had cilantro in them..the "beef" and the black bean. I believe that's correct, but check with them if you hate it as much as I do. Kind of a bummer, I couldn't get the avocado wrap or another very similar. Not their fault I HATE cilantro. 100% will go back. Staff was nice. No indoor seating so either sit outside on a nice little patio or eat in your car. They do have heaters.
If I could do 4.5 stars I would. 4 isn't totally fair but 5 isn't true. Let my preface my review by saying I eat meat twice a day every day. That being said, the food was excellent. I can tell it isn't the real thing, but it's damn near it. Bravo to the vegan gods, they have outdone themselves on this one. The reason I dock a half point off is due to price (could be lower for fast-food), speed was a little slower than true fast food (but this food is harder to make good), and I could have done without the salad. Surprisingly they don't do that well and that alone almost out this at a true 4 star review. You go to a vegan place expecting a good salad and they should deliver. After it is all said and done, I would come back to this place. It is assuredly better than any other true fast-food burger place baring In-N-Out, Five Guys, and Steak N Shake.
Pretty good Classic Cheeseburgers & fries. We went through the drive through a long while ago. Somehow my son got the wrong order & ended up with a Fish Filet, which was actually somewhat better than the burger with a nice, subtle flavor. The Milk Shakes (Chocolate, Vanilla, Cookies & Cream) were good.
One of my favorite vegan spots in Encinitas. If you’re craving comfort food, without the guilt of meat or dairy (perfect for vegans or vegetarians) make the trip. I love their salads and will occasionally also get one of their many variety of burgs 🍔 Oh and try their new summer iced teas and dairy-free milkshakes - divine 😍🥰😍
Food was pretty great. The chicken sandwich was the same size as a Chick-fil-A sandwich. If they got a crisper batter it would be like spot on. Partner got the chicken waffle sandwich and that was also pretty good. Waffle buns were about the size of eggos. The zac sauce taste like a creamy thousand island. Fries were good. Their sodas are pretty great too. I was surprised the onion rings were a dollar a piece, I ended up not trying those. The price is pretty high considering it's like a "burger king," but worth the try. Toilet paper in the bathroom was about as bad as a gas station. There also wasn't a hook for me to hang up my purse.
I'm not vegan. This food is insanely delicious!. I eat fish and chicken and lots of salads, seldom beef and pork. I ate the California wrap and couldn't tell the difference from eyesight to taste to texture to tummy. Yummy!
This was a fantastic breakfast place. I got the vegetable breakfast burrito and I loved it. Not heavy at all. It's got good flavor. It's got a little bit of zing to it. The only reason I gave four stars was the coffee was not good. I would suggest another type. I just had a little bit of a bitter taste to it, but other than that, I highly recommend this for those of you that are looking for something different in the vegan or vegetarian food space. 🔥❤️🔥❤️
Great tasting american style vegan food, I recommend the buffalo 66 burger and oreo shake! Their burgers look like they've gotten smaller too? It's quite expensive though, I would come much muchhh more often if the food was a little cheaper. I can only afford to come here about 4-5 times a year.
LOVE the veggie concept and the restaurant itself is cool in design but unfortunately my classic black bean burger was just okay. Didn't seem hand-formed (& for $7 it should be) and wasn't very flavorful, but it was hard to tell because there was way too much ketchup on it. My friend who got the Iconic burger with the soy patty enjoyed his though!
Decent food. Really slow drive thru. The peanut butter shake is delicious! The fake bacon is really gross, along with the sausage. Chicken nuggets and the burger are good, and the service is always great. A bit expensive for decent food. Besides the shakes, nothing I've tried is delicious, and I'm vegan.
I had high expectations, when I visited today for the first time. Ordered a wrap and it was mostly tortilla on your mouth and the entire thing was so cold. Ny daughter liked their nuggests but $6 for 6 small nuggets, really ? I also tried their buffalo burger which was very mediocre given the price. Habit burger veggie is definitely super and better in taste.
It is great to see a Vegan restaurant. We need more of them. Burgers are great. Wish they would bring the mini corn dogs back and step up their game a little. Food takes too long. Not fast enough to be called fast food. They need to display the kids menu better on the drive thru menu board.
Great food, been going for years, but the issue is it's not open early or late, as a 24 hour vegan, I'm looking for 24 hour vegan restaurants, and honestly we have none, so please stay open late atleast till midnight. We're already so limited in choices, it would be nice to have options after 9pm.. like this isn't a 55+ town ... we like eating late... thanks! 🍃 ❤️
overall the food is actually quite good and hard to tell some items are vegan. typically the quality is pretty good as well and i have not had many issues with my orders in all the times i have been. wait time can be a bit long (up to 20 mins), but understandable since the food is usually hot and fresh. the worst part about the place is the price. unfortunately the food is also very expensive. expect to spend about $20 per person for a meal at least.
love the food, service was horrible today. whoever the guy with long hair is needs to be retrained. he got my order wrong and then told me to pull into the lot to wait and he will bring out my food. he never brought it out and after 15 minutes i went inside to get it. i get there’s a line but as someone who comes here often, i was unsatisfied with the service today. i ordered a big zac and a side of onion rings, he added onions rings to my big zac, not sure if there was an up charge for that but if there was, then i paid too much for all of my food and that’s not okay. service is usually fine but this employee is wasn’t up to standard. just got home and didn’t even get my ranch for my onion rings. go figure!
I am always dissapointed by their fries! Sometimes too salty to eat and sometimes no salt at all. Sometimes the fries were cold. I wish there was some standard that was followed. I was stopping here once a week, but now I pass. Their milkshakes are great, especially the horchata.
The food was cold and not good. There was no flavor in the burrito and it looked like the meat was just a burger patty barely chopped up. No sauce on the animal fries just onion and 1 piece of cheese. The only item I got that was good was the cookie butter shake. The person working the drive thru didn't want to let us order anything besides one item and kept asking if I'm done with my order. Okay, won't spend any more money then. We usually visit the OB location and we've never had issues, will continue to just go there.
Went to the Plant Power on Santa Fe in Encinitas and got ripped off. Don’t get me wrong, I love their fries and shakes, but I know for a fact that they have a LARGE fry that you can get, and the drive through worker gave me the smallest amount of fries I’ve ever seen and kept lying saying they only have one size. He charged me for a large fry and still gave me the smallest size they have. Super lame, never going back again.
I'm a vegetarian and like to visit vegan restaurants. This place gives vegan a bad name. Stay home and cook for yourself. Or visit Plot Express in Carlsbad and for the same money get plenty of food made from scratch and their own farm, not from processed. Not a good burger, not a good salad and if i hadn't asked for additional "chikn" added it would have had scant protein and it only had morsels of the advertised quinoa. "Where's the Beef"
Just frozen patties from store over store bought condiments and bun. Nothing fresh or authentic. Tasteless. I have tried better vegan burgers at Native Foods, Eris Vegan Cafe and even at home. Overpriced, small quantity, not fresh, bland. Not worth a dollar.
I used to go here a lot and really loved the food but noticed that the food got worse and worse and burgers got smaller and smaller. Their fries used to be the best there was, they used fresh potatoes but it was too much work for them to make quality fries so they went to frozen fries that are the worst fries in the industry. I have tried a couple more times hoping it was just a bad day but it looks like they have decided that quality, taste and customers no longer count. Never again. So so sad.
This is a photo of just ordered impossible fries. The entire ordered resembled this mess. It was as if someone had already been eating them. The fries were cold and stale as if they’d been sitting out and the chicken tenders were soggy. The only “good” part about this meal was the milkshake. I frequent this location too often to think this is even slightly acceptable. I went back the next day to address it with a manager and they wouldn’t even speak to me about making it right. I’ve never received service like this from this location or any others but I was highly dissatisfied with the food and the way management handled the situation.
Went there a few weeks ago and wasn’t impressed by the big zac. Decided to give them a second chance and now I’m frankly upset. The burger and fries were still very unimpressive and check out the picture, 10 containers of dressing and 14 packets of ketchup. What a waste of food and plastic for just 1 burger.
Plant Power Fast Food: Where the Future is Vegan, Cashless, and Slightly Petty Welcome to Plant Power, the restaurant chain boldly pioneering a dystopian utopia where the food is ethical, but the policies are ethically questionable. Let’s start with the big one: no cash accepted. That’s right—Plant Power has bravely declared war on paper money. Apparently, Abraham Lincoln and Alexander Hamilton are no longer welcome here. Instead, you must tap, swipe, or insert your plastic tribute to the gods of fintech. Want to buy a burger with a crumpled five-dollar bill like some sort of unwashed peasant? Too bad. At Plant Power, currency is green, but only if it’s a Chase Sapphire. The official explanation? “Faster service,” “employee safety,” “modernization.” The unofficial vibe? “We think poor people are kinda inconvenient.” It’s like they saw the phrase “cashless society” and thought it meant “soulless society.” Now let’s talk loyalty. Plant Power once offered a glimmer of hope to its faithful customers through a point-based rewards system. Every purchase brought you closer to the vegan Promised Land—a free meal! But now? Your points expire after three months. Yes, like yogurt. Nothing says “We appreciate your loyalty” like penalizing you for not coming back fast enough. Honestly, this isn’t a loyalty program—it’s emotional blackmail wrapped in a kale tortilla. Some say the company is becoming greedy. Others say it’s evolving into a plant-based Ponzi scheme. I say: they’ve cracked the code on how to alienate both the broke and the loyal in one smooth, eco-friendly swipe. But let’s not forget the food. It’s good. Like, “Wow, this is made from plants?” good. Burgers, fries, shakes—delicious, ethical, Instagrammable. Just don’t forget your debit card or you’ll be stuck outside, looking longingly through the window like a Dickens character craving oat milk. In conclusion, Plant Power is a delicious contradiction: sustainable meals served by an unsustainable business model. Come for the impossible burger, stay for the existential crisis. Just make sure your bank account is as rich as their cashew cheese. Rating: 4 stars for the food, 1 star for the policies, and a bonus star for sheer audacity
This place was cute and I wanted to love it but I had the nastiest vegan burger of my life here. 0/10 do not recommend.
