This place is great! Got in with a quick reservation off Google and was there an hour later. Sat right down and the place is super decorated and fun! Great atmosphere! The chips and salsa are SO good! I wish someone would teach me to make salsa like that! Got steak burritos, one covered in cheese. Super tasty and they came out before our drink order. That's the sign of a well oiled machine kitchen staff! We were surprised how quickly we went from start to finish and I ordered dessert! Weren't rushed. It just happened quickly! Got the e Apple empanada and that was also seriously good! Would definitely return!
Staff is very friendly , they accommodate us for party of 21 people . Service was very good. Food is delicious. Cocktails are buzzing. New menus is better . Overall great place to go with family 😇
I stop by here on Tuesday just randomly because I wanted a quick bite and i was hungry. I figured tacos would be quick. I wasn’t expecting the place to looks amazing. It definitely took me by surprise. The service was excellent. As a bonus it was unlimited tacos on taco Tuesday 😍. Definitely a place to check out. I would recommend this spot to anyone.
Good Tex-Mex restaurant. the restaurant decor is amazing. got something for everyone! food is good especially the street tacos.
Creepy Uncle Dave here. So I found myself looking for something to eat with my nieces and nephew. I found myself with the usual argument about where to go to eat. If you’ve ever spent any time with kids you would know that this could be a loud and lengthy event. So I popped some Advil and let the chaos ensue. Long story short we ended up here at Rosalita’s. This was definitely not our first time at this joint and we already knew what to expect, good food, great server’s and a great atmosphere. The two youngest who wanted to come here the most ordered chicken fingers and fries. Imagine that, all that wonderful Mexican food on the menu ant they want chicken fingers. Whatever. My boss once said, if you can get your customers kids sold on what you were trying to sell their parents you were most likely going to close the deal. At the time my sales were down so I tried to do what he said and found that a 6 month old didn’t give a damn about what I was trying to say in the least bit. Needless to say I didn’t get the sale and the parents weren’t too happy that I was showing their baby how I had planned to run the cables for the project. I guess that’s where the creepy came from. Oh well I tried. Anyway, the oldest one had the Gringo street tacos while I ordered the shredded chicken burrito. The burrito was stuffed to the max with chicken, rice and beans all topped with a tasty red sauce and cheese that tied it all together. I enjoyed it. My oldest niece didn’t have anything to say about her meal(probably because her head was stuck in her phone the entire time) but her plate was clean. If you leave this place still hungry it’s your own fault. They serve some pretty hefty portions. In any case I like this place and think you would to. Tell them I sent ya. -Creep Uncle Dave
Very good food and amazing service and ambience. Everything we ordered was perfect and unique.Cauliflower and Chicken Tacos, Enchiladas,Popcorn Shrimp, Cheese and Corn Jalapeños were very good with very less,
Spent the last weekend at Rosalita’s Café celebrating our grandson’s first birthday. Apparently a sports bar many years ago, it’s a full-fledged Mexican Restaurant with awesome service, great food, and a bar area that was a great spot to hang out. Very roomy to hold our party. The food, appetizers and main course food was abundant and very tasty and kept coming. Desserts were awesome also. Staff was really helpful and ensured all of the guests and especially the Birthday baby had a wonderful time.
The sheetpan loaded nachos were awesome!!! Also the desserts apple empanada and cheesecake chiminwas divine! They bring you free chips and salsa which is a nice touch!
"A Taste of Mexico in the Heart of New Jersey" I recently dined here in New Jersey, and I'd like to share my experience: 1. **Authentic Flavors:** The restaurant delivered on authentic Mexican flavors. The dishes were well-seasoned, and you could taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. 2. **Variety of Menu:** The menu offered a wide range of options, from classic tacos and enchiladas to more unique dishes. There was something for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan choices. 3. **Salsa Bar:** I loved the salsa bar with a variety of salsas and toppings. It allowed me to customize my meal to my preferred spice level and taste. 4. **Ambiance:** The restaurant had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a Mexican hacienda with vibrant decor and music. 5. **Friendly Service:** The staff were attentive and helpful, making dining a pleasant experience. They were happy to explain dishes and make recommendations. 6. **Margaritas:** Don't miss out on their margaritas! They were well-crafted and complemented the meal perfectly. 7. **Portion Sizes:** The portion sizes were generous, so you'll likely leave with a full belly. It's great for sharing or taking home leftovers. 8. **Reservations:** Depending on the time and day, it can get busy, so making a reservation is a good idea, especially for larger groups. Overall, my experience at this Mexican restaurant in New Jersey was enjoyable. It's a great spot for a casual dinner with friends or a family outing. The combination of authentic flavors, a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service makes it a memorable dining choice for Mexican cuisine enthusiasts.
I've probably been coming here for at least 5 years already. Never had a bad experience here, the food is always on point! This all you can eat tacos on Tuesdays is seriously dangerous haha they are soooo good! Tonight my server was Jordyn she was amazing, super attentive, fast, constantly checking to see if we need anything. We had tacos brought out by a couple others as well and they were all nice and fast too. Overall another 5 star experience. It asked if I wanted to update my review since I came again 6-28-22 so I will do that and add some photos I took. Went for taco Tuesday again per my son's request. Waitress was really nice. I'm pretty sure her name was Amanda. We got a few diff kinds of tacos like we always do and the quality is always great. We got Baja shrimp, pork Al pastor, chicken Mexican street and some chicken gringos. We got some guacamole and it was kinda meh. I was a little disappointed but it definitely didn't ruin my meal. I had a few margaritas also that were delicious and pretty reasonably priced the classics are 8 something. If you want a flavor one it's a little more the mango is really good those are 11 something. The all you can eat tacos special is $14.92 and you get 2 of 1 variety at a time along with a cup of rice and beans and chips with salsa.
This was my first time at Rosalitas and I would 10/10 recommend to a friend. I have pretty serious allergy restrictions so Chrissy recommended the chopped salad with grilled chicken with cilantro lime dressing substituting ranch. That was the best salad dressing I ever had and my red sangria paired super well with it. I loved the atmosphere of this place, it was such a nice place. I really enjoyed chatting with Chrissy she is very funny and has a great personality. I will be back soon!
I had dinner last night with a friend and this place had the perfect authentic feel to it. Chrissy was our waitress and she was super attentive and friendly. She had us laughing the whole time we were there and felt like she was a part of our table. She recommended the birria tacos and they were actually amazing! Everyone was super nice from when we walked in and we had a great time for going out on a week night. We came in not knowing what we wanted but Chrissy really helped us with the choices on the menu and substitutions. Love the margaritas here and will definitely be coming back, looking forward to visiting on a weekend for a night out with friends for margs!!
Food tasted fresh and very well seasoned. Excellent servers and atmosphere. Their daily specials are worth the money. I usually go to their Bricktown location, so I do have to note that the chefs at this location make their food noticeably more spicy.
This scrumptious moderate Mexican Cantina has my Heart and Soul. Each and every item that we ordered were so delectable. My personal favorite were the Rosies Sampler and the juicy minced chicken empanadas were to die for 🤤 The food was very delicious and portions were also good enough.
Very busy, especially on Taco Tuesday, but the food was pretty good and the service was good. Lots of waiters/waitresses running around to make sure everyone is satisfied, and overall they are doing a great job. My family's waiter was a really nice guy who ate a rabbit on easter once, and he is officially my favorite waiter ever.
We had Rosalita's food truck for my daughter and her friends graduation party last week...OMG it was amazing! Food was fresh, and so delicious, not at all greasy like typical food truck fare. Many packages to choose from, with diff types of foods. Dennis the owner was helpful and flexible with the menu. His workers, Adam and Michael went above and beyond to make sure that our event was a success. They were personable...service with a smile. They kept the line moving, and cooked everything to perfection. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a food truck!
Went there with a group of friends and had a great time. We went there on Tuesday and they had a great deal with all you can eat Tacos for $15 which we didn't know about...heck most of us went for that as the choices or options appealed to us. The service was fast and friendly and liked the ambiance of the Mexican restaurant. The food was very good and some of us ate way too many tacos. Our drink tab was almost double our food bill but we were being merry and the drinks were good. Will go back for sure!
We always come here as this is a safe allergen spot for my son with ANA food allergies. The manager is always on point. Plus their food and drinks always tastes great. My family had fun and we enjoyed our food. I, always get the churrasco steak, coz it’s the best thing on the menu. Unlimited taco Tuesday’s is awesome and perfect way to overstuff yourself 😜 House margaritas with a side of Modelo is a perfect way to hit the weekend. Stop by here for a great Mexican experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday dinner at Rosalita's. The blood orange margarita made by Matt was spicy, the nachos were warm, the salsa was chunky and at the same time creamy in texture, and the 5 lb "kitchen sink" burrito was GINORMOUS. I wasn't inebriated enough to really partake in this insane challenge, but the temptation to try out this beast of a burrito was just too much. I think it was the size of my wife's thigh. Needless to say, I failed pathetically in finishing the 20 minute burrito challenge. Our stay was made memorable by Matt the bartender, whose jovial personality made this a fun Mexican cantina that we would undoubtedly be coming back to again and again.
They make awesome tacos. Great vibe. Big bar as well as the restaurant. I love it here.
Had a fantastic experience at Viva Rosie’s. What really stood out was the incredible service led by the manager, Michael. You can tell he truly cares about both the staff and the guests. The atmosphere was welcoming, everything ran smoothly even during the dinner rush, and any small request we had was handled quickly and with a smile. Michael should be an example for all restaurant managers.
Aida's- our server was just fantastic as the food !!! This has been THE best place I have eaten in a couple of years .. The salsa - will have you singing all day!! I highly recommend this spot . .. I will make the trip for this one - Mrs. LuxxyBlu 💙
Went here for a friend’s birthday and had such a good experience! Gluten Free friendly. We ordered the new nachos (perfect for sharing) and brought in our own cake. Our waitress was amazing. Didn’t make a fuss about the cake, and even offered to bring extra plates and napkins. Super friendly and made the whole night feel special.
I have spent years frequenting rosalitas. I am under the impression (correct me if im wrong) that in the past few months it has changed ownership. I do not leave low stars for any of my reviews unless it really necessitates it. I will review the food and service after mentioning this: I read through recent reviews and came accross several low star reviews including one woman who was bothered by a birthday she was celebrating with a cake she purchased outside of the restaurant (not sure of Rosie's offers birthday cake). I too am a proponent for supporting small businesses. What i love is that owners take the time to reply to guests/customers and I understand frustrations the owners endure dealing with reviews that could negatively impact their business... however, to publicly attempt to shame the woman with the line "seems like you care more about saving a few pennies" was extremely disheartening. I sympathize with both parties but that was completely unprofessional. For the review of MY experience, I would like to start with the service. The waiter was excellent at his job, explained menu questions thoroughly, was prompt, and pleasant to everyone at all times. I cant say enough good things about him. On to the food, I noticed complaints about portion sizes in other reviews and i cant say that they are small at all. In fact, everyone at my table was unable to finish all of their food. The portions may have looked bigger in the past but they seem to be appropriately sized. The tacos were all very good. Similar to tio down the road, Rosie's seems to add more focus to the taco section now, with very good options. The birria was actually very good and i think birria is very easy to get wrong (so fi a), but Rosie's got it right. The rice and beans, which was always good, seems to have improved quite a bit... The chips are not too salty which is great... The presentations were nice... The atmosphere has mostly remained the same which is part of why I like to go there. If anyone reading this is a fan of street corn, you might want to ask for a sample of the sauce before ordering. It doesn't seem to follow the standard of elote that other places serve. Its very sweet, almost like a honey bbq sweet. I was not a fan. Otherwise the food was very good, the service was way over 5 stars, and the atmosphere has remained the roadside cantina vibe it was always going for. I will always happily edit any reviews to boost a deserving local business, while still giving my honest opinion so that others can make decisions based on everything they read.
It’s an okay knock off Mexican spot. … bar dead , not a lot of people, came here on a Thursday night. To have some food drink and to watch a little bit of the game , cowgirls vs lions ..
This is a good Tex Mex eatery. Great service, drinks and food. The chips, salsa and guacamole were all very good. My wife and I both had the enchiladas which were all good. Generous portions and excellent service. Reasonable pricing and plenty of free parking.
Food: 2/3 Service: 1/1 Ambiance: 1/1 Staff was super nice, fast and effective. Food was equally fantastic and the ambiance gave off a cool Tex mex vibe! They did kind of burn the burrito though, but it was good otherwise. Will be coming back!
Went for the first time here and wasn’t disappointed. My Mexican food standards have been set high by restaurants and local joints like Jose tejas and mi mariachi. This is going to be a next favorite restaurant. Everything from fries to tacos, salsa, burritos were absolutely delicious. Would have loved a bit better service but the fish tacos made up for it.
Fried ice cream was not what I expected but it was pretty good but the waitress was in a rush and rude she wasn’t friendly I understand that being a waitress gets you tired because I was once a waitress but girl if you’re tired still try to at least smile and be nice over all the food was good. I just think the waitress should have be nicer. Nice and beautiful place tho 😊 I think the fried ice cream could use a lil more coating only because I know it falls apart fast I also try to make fried ice cream I know it’s hard. A lil more coating of flour or cereal or whichever one you use I think will help and you can drain the oil. My family and I will visit soon again. Beautiful place ❤️
Never been before, coincidentally went on Taco Tuesday and decided to get the all you can eat tacos. Got the supreme option, which lets you pick from ANY tacos. Ended up getting 3 different rounds of taco, birria (9/10), Baja shrimp (9/10), carne asada steak (3/10, very salty could not eat them probably a fluke). Came with a small side of good rice and beans as well. Free chips and salsa were very fresh and flavorful, one of the best I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant. Would definitely recommend this place!
Came here for taco Tuesday all you can eat. Not the most authentic street tacos, but I would say they are worth the deal. Also quick service and nice atmosphere.
The food was amazing. The service could have been better but not bad enough to keep me away. Each day of the week is a different special. My favorite are Margarita Monday and Taco Tuesday! You must try the pulled chicken Quesadillas. Just look at the pics and you will see why lol. Talk about mouth watering. Oooo yesssss
The food was good and the service was quick. I got the chorizo gordito burrito and my wife got the shrimp fajitas. They were a little spicy and delicious. I thought it was moderately pricey but not outrageous.
Finally stopped there to try their margaritas, enchiladas and tamales. When you enter you get a feeling you may be getting a nice surprise. The Tex-Mex decor makes it feeling like a southwest cantinas. The bar is laid out well with bar seating as well as side main room dining. The hot tamales were authentic and the enchiladas were just as good as jose tejas in Woodbridge. The edge were their classic upgrade margaritas. Happy hour specials, as well as daily specials. A children's menu is ample for the picky eater.
Have only eaten there once. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was good, especially the empanadas. The margarita I had was a bit underwhelming but I did not try any of the flavored ones.
If you've stopped coming to Rosie's because it got stale or boring, you can come back now. I discovered a revived menu with new and interesting selections. Had the stuffed jalapenos which are not at all what you might expect. Try them. We also had the carne asada entre which was a very nice grilled streak with chimichurri served with a nice tamal. Simple. Wholesome and delicious. Steve's service at the bar was professional and warm. Overall a very pleasant experience. Go back and see.
Was going to meet my mom for dinner and a drink so she suggested this place. I made reservations for the outdoor seating and arrived right on time. I was seated right away while I waited on my mom. The server came out and was really nice and sent out chips and salsa. I ordered a margarita while I waited. My mom finally came and the server took our order. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas and my mom ordered the steak fajitas and it came to $63 with the drinks. My mom ordered the pomegranate margarita and she didn't care for it and the red wine that was ordered was nasty. The food finally came out and it was pretty good and filling. I ordered another margarita, gold standard and it wasn't the greatest. The manager came out and said it was time to go after an hour. I was not aware of this but he said he told me. I do not recall him telling me there was an hour limit or else I wouldn't have ordered another drink. I wish they would of made it more clear when I made reservations. The server was good but the manager uh not so much. Probably won't be back anytime soon.
Stopped here for a quick bite to eat. While the service was great, but the food was lackluster and expensive. Definitely the kind of place that draws you in for it's drinks, not it's food.
Good food, rustic interior. The server was very nice. Salsa and chips are excellent.
Disappointed in the new menu. This was my kids favorite restaurant for the events on Wednesdays, now they don’t even give you a kids color sheet, limit the chips/salsa, and took away the flavorful shredded chicken, and replaced it with fried chicken? Crazy.
Adding this review as I’m disappointed in the latest new policies of the restaurant. They used to have a generous “kids eat free Wednesdays” offer and it has been discontinued. They also had lots of amazing events for kids like face painting on Wednesdays which they also have discontinued. Needless to say the place wasn’t what it used to be last Wednesday when we went there. Probably will do takeout next time as the food is still great.
The last time we ordered, we noticed a change in the recipes. Sauces, meats, seasoning was all different. While this may be a good change for some, we preferred the way it tasted before and haven’t ordered since.
Nice place, food is okay. They used to give unlimited chips and salsa but now charge $5.99 for each additional basket. Our table briefly spoke to the manager at the end of our meal regarding rewards points, and during this conversation we noticed his hand began dripping blood—thankfully our meal was over by this point, and he rushed off to clean and bandage himself. However, as we were getting up to leave we noticed some blood on the seat next to where he was standing, drips on the floor, on my toddlers boot, and her white jacket. We brought this to their attention and were basically told it was impossible for the blood to have gotten where it did and that it must be salsa (!?!?), but any person with common sense would know the difference between the texture, color, and density of blood vs salsa. Idk. Overall a fine place, but this experience was odd and will forever stand out in my mind, and I definitely didn’t appreciate being gaslit over the blood vs salsa thing.
This place is pricey $$$ and the food was not that great. We were a big group and ordered dinner for all with some drinks. But it took some good amount of time for the order to come and the drinks were alright only. This is not one of those happening Mexican restaurants. Not too busy. The menu online is old and with outdated prices. They have higher prices in store now for the same online items. There are better Mexican restaurants.
Went here tonight for dinner with my son. The service from our waiter was awful. I asked for a kids menu he said I know it off the top of my head and told my son his options and waited for his order. He was upset not to have the usual kids menu and coloring. I order Birria tacos. I’ve had these here many times, and they have always been my favorite in the area. The meat tastes different and they used crunchy tacos and not drenched in sauce like they should be. When the waiter came over and asked how it was I told him it was not great and how they are not Birria tacos. He says ok and takes my plate and my sons (without asking, as he was not done) and walked away he came back with the check. The tacos were not removed from the bill. For the first time ever in my life, I walked out without leaving a tip. It still bothers me that I did that, but his demeanor and attitude were so terrible. I am sad to say after attending many character nights and nights there with friends, we likely will not be returning. Especially with the new pricing and charges for chips. Very sad experience.
All I can say is wow, how far Rosalitas has fallen. It used to have that cozy family vibe, but now it seems that making profits is most important. I haven’t been here since last year, and things have changed for the worse. I remember when you used to get as much chips and salsa as you want. Today after the first tray, we were asked if we wanted more and I said yes. Layer on the server stated that by the way the second serving of chips is “extra”! Well since when? If I was told that when asked, I probably would’ve said no! Wow, we’re really nickel and diming now! Then my wife orders a Mexican Paella for $28.99 plus tax, and I had to laugh at the size of the dish. I bet you I could eat at least 3 of these plates! This is supposed to be a dinner sized portion? Look at the picture and you tell me. I could continue, but I’ll just cut it here. This used to be my favorite restaurant, but now I think I’ll be visiting Texas Roadhouse more often. What a shame….
What happened to Rosalitas!!!!??? I’m incredibly disappointed with Rosalita’s (or Viva Rosie’s). We came on a Wednesday night and had a terrible experience. The service was poor, portions were smaller, and the food wasn’t nearly as tasty as it used to be. Menu and prices have changed. No more fun Wednesday nights with the kids. This used to be one of my favorite spots, a lot has changed for the worse. Such a shame! I won’t be returning. Looking for a New Mexican / Latin food spot. 😩
We were a large group of 17. We called ahead at 3:00 on a Saturday to see if a table was available. Guy on the phone said no problem we would have 2 tables adjacent to each other. We drive 20 minutes there and arrive by 3:30. Host inside said they would be seating us at 2 tables very far from each other. Entire area behind host station was open. They told us that area is closed and our only option is sit at the 2 tables far from each other. They did not give us any reason why. So our party left. Went to Tios Tequila down the street and they sat out entire party within 5 minutes. We didn't even call ahead. Terrible, terrible service. Restaurant management may want to reevaluate their staff and motives.
Beware, the “grilled chicken” on their new menu is NOT white meat chicken as most would assume when you see grilled chicken on a menu. We even asked if it was white meat before ordering and were told it was but once the dishes came it was clear it was dark meat. After bringing it up again, the waiter went and confirmed it was in fact dark meat. Manager and staff were more than friendly and accommodating when we told them we were upset. Ended up thinking we’d just get the chicken fingers since that would hopefully be white meat but it was the same as your typical frozen chicken nuggets with fillers after we took a bite of it so needless to say our dinner consisted of some chips and fries. Used to really enjoy it here as I’ve been there many times over the years but at this point I can’t say I’ll go back without any changes. There’s many other Mexican options in the area that we can go to. Hope it’s not the same with their other restaurants in the area that are listed on the same restaurant group. **Response: Dennis, in response to you, in the past we have always asked for white meat chicken and never had an issue subbing that. Tonight my wife and daughter both asked for white meat in their quesadillas. We were told that would be no problem. When they came out and had dark meat inside we brought it up and were told there was no longer white meat available. We even brought up and said what if we ordered the fajita chicken and we were told it would be the same. Clearly there must be some kind of disconnect with the new menus and food options. The menu said “grilled chicken” and showing that on a menu, most people would always expect white meat and we had even asked when ordering to be sure.
Don’t think about having a birthday there, the owner Dennis said we couldn’t bring our own cake and would charge us $3 a person for giving us plates and utensils. I could bring my own at that point. Completely ruined the birthday. Cares more about utensils but lost a 10 person party times that by the cost of food and liquor drinks, you lost a lot of money buddy! Plus people now can see for themselves so anytime someone wants to have a birthday they won’t consider it because of the upcharge! In response to Dennis, I work for a small business and take up business as a major. No one is knocking your local business. Your attitude was extremely poor and $3pp to serve when we said we would do that ourselves is absurdity. You lost $50-$75 a person times that by ten you lost $500 to $750 heck maybe $1000 in revenue because you wanted to charge us to bring our OWN birthday cake! It’s insane Dennis. Please rest easy knowing you lost customers who actually frequented your restaurant and gave business. I’ll be sure to tell others and others may see from here how absurd it is to charge $3pp to serve a cake someone pays for for their birthday. Have an excellent day.
