I had an absolutely incredible dinner at Ponte Vecchio! From the moment we were seated, the service stood out—our server, Steven, was beyond amazing. He was friendly, attentive, and gave fantastic recommendations that made the night even better. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. They started us off with their freshly baked bread, which was warm and soft—the kind of bread you just can’t stop eating. Dipping it in their sauces took it to another level! We went with the three-course meal, and let me tell you—it was completely worth it. For appetizers, we had the Eggplant Rollatine Parmigiana, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. The Zuppa di Mussels was fresh and fragrant, with tender Prince Edward Island mussels in a light tomato-basil broth. So good. For the main course, everything was cooked to perfection. The Tomahawk Pork Chop was massive and packed with flavor—the porcini mushroom demi-glaze added such a deep, earthy richness layered with prosciutto, broccoli rabe, and fresh mozzarella, and it was just the right balance of savory, hearty, and satisfying. The Short Rib over Mushroom Risotto was fall-apart tender, paired perfectly with roasted veggies and creamy risotto. And of course, we couldn’t skip dessert. The Dark Side of the Moon cake was rich and indulgent—chocolate lovers, this one’s for you. The mini cannoli were the perfect bite-sized sweet ending to an already amazing meal. Between the excellent food, top-tier service, and cozy ambiance, Ponte Vecchio left a lasting impression. This is the kind of place you come back to for birthdays, date nights, or just because you want a truly great meal. Highly recommend!

I attended a business meeting at Ponte Vecchio recently & was impressed with the food & service. We were a large group & stayed longer than expected. Service was amazing & staff showed lot of patience serving a big group. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

this food was some of the best i’ve had! we got the surf and turf special, chicken franches, and shrimp franches. the surf and turf was for 2, and it had broccoli rab, lobster mac and cheese, and crispy onions. it was a 10/10, the porterhouse meat was in garlic butter and the lobster was perfectly cooked. the chicken franches was very good but could have used more sauce. the shrimp was perfect. would 100% recommend! definetly coming back!!

We had a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner at Ponte Vecchio. The food was excellent—especially the seafood, which was incredibly fresh and well-prepared. The ambiance struck the perfect balance of old-styled elegance without feeling cliché; it had a fancy, traditional charm that made the evening feel special. It was quiet and intimate, ideal for a relaxed sit-down dinner. The other patrons were respectful, and the staff was attentive, professional, and kind throughout our visit. I enjoyed it so much that I’ll definitely be back to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommend for a refined dining experience.

My wife and I went to Ponte Vecchio in Old Bridge for our anniversary and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for such a special night. The service was excellent , very attentive without ever feeling rushed. We started with seafood that was fresh and full of flavor, and then the steak… absolutely incredible. Cooked perfectly, tender, and so delicious. Honestly, every dish we tried was outstanding. It wasn’t just a dinner, it felt like a celebration. We left so happy and grateful, and we’re already talking about coming back soon. Ponte Vecchio made our anniversary unforgettable, and we couldn’t recommend it more!

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. The waiters are friendly and kind and the food is to die for. We celebrated my mother's 60th birthday with a table of at least 20 25 people and it couldn't have gone better. We had 6 or 7 family style appetizers and everyone chose their own dish. The restaurant even made the most beautiful cake! It was a wonderful night thank you!!

I recently had lunch here when the restaurant next door was undergoing renovations. I am so glad that I did because my meal was delicious. I had the eggplant rollatini with penne. It was very filling and satisfying. The service was impeccable. There were many tempting dishes in the specials.

Hot apps for 2 were great, got to taste a little of 5 different items. The special halibut with lobster risotto, was awesome but just wish it had some bigger checks of lobster. The crab stuffed bronzino was traffic. Wife loved the toffee cake, the chocolate cake was average. Next time will order the in-house made dessert, I'm sure it will be more fresh. The cappuccino was also excellent. Overall loved the food. The service was great but was a bit slow as it was a full house. As I had no other plans it was fine. Will definitely go back.

Best Italian restaurant in New Jersey, maybe even in NYC. I had the plum tomato sauce, with basil and garlic. Fantastic. All home made. My wife had the Branizo filet over Rosetta, unbelievable good. Our server was Mike, he was friendly and helpful Cannot recommend enough. Remember to BYOB.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. The food is always on point for both in restaurant and catering. It's a wonderful place to celebrate special occasions or to enjoy a great meal.

For a meal worth the price. Spend your money at this little hole in the wall of a restaurant that I did not know existed. We got the dinner for two which is a little pricey but it was WORTH EVERY PENNY. Delivery, taste, quality, freshness… Do not miss a chance to try out this place. You will not be disappointed and the serving staff is darling.

Costas was our server. Had an amazing meal. Tried a few apps and dinner was off the charts. Husband had branzino. My son and I shared the tomahawk steak with 2 lobster tails, creamed spinach, lobster Mac and cheese and onion rings. One slice of the tomahawk was like eating a whole steak. No room for dessert, but plenty left over for tomorrow! Will def be back! Loved it. Kudos to you Costas. Thanks for a really enjoyable experience!!

Lets start off with what a atmosphere when you walk in. The smiles ear to ear from all the staff. Tony the owner who is outstanding in every phrase of the game has his staff top notch. From the minute we sat down to the minute we left, very , very impresed. You should stop in and prove me wrong. Will be back many times!!!

Great food at a reasonable price. My son and I enjoyed the steak very much. And it was not outrageously expensive. Service was top notch, and it has a very nice ambience. We will be back.

I had a party for my mother there for about 25 people. From the moment we arrived the staff was very attentive. Arrived early to get things settled and as they were still setting up, they continually asked us if we needed anything while we waited. The food was impeccable as well as the attention to everything by the staff. Servers Steven and John did an amazing job as well as the entire staff.

Free BYOB/Wine, they do not serve any alcohol. Fantastic atmosphere for having parties or regular lunch/dinner. Clean and modern with table clothes and decent lighting. For parties they can provide a big whole cake with filling for 6$ per person (3$ per person if you bring your own). They also do a real whole turkey dinner, with all the trimmings/dessert, for Thanksgiving. They will pack up all leftovers, carcass including (must tell them in advance). Food is always wonderful here, really can't go wrong with anything. Great calamari, rock shrimp, chicken parm, sea bass, and all their cakes are to die for! The service is incredible! John is the sweetest, most attentive, personable server I've had in a long time, he goes above and beyond every time! The rest of the staff from bussers to hostess are also so kind. I found this place to be quieter. Something about acoustics because the same amount of people in another restaurant is much louder. The restaurant is in a plaza with plenty of parking. Handicap parking is close to restaurant. The restaurant is handicap friendly with assistance and easy access to the bathroom. Overall great atmosphere, wonderful food and service! Would recommend to adults and seniors. Not a kid friendly place, although they can accommodate.

My husband and I chose Ponte Vecchio for our wedding reception, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, and our guests kept talking about how delicious the food was. The service was truly outstanding. Steve made sure we left with food to enjoy later that night, which was such a thoughtful touch. And Jerry was wonderful — he checked in with us throughout the evening about timing and details, and he even shared a laugh with us over the edible paper on our cake. Their kindness really made the night feel special. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and professional. Our entire reception felt seamless because of them. We’re so grateful to the team at Ponte Vecchio for helping make our celebration unforgettable. Highly recommend this restaurant for any special event!

Wonderful Experience for My Daughter’s Baby Shower! We recently hosted my daughter’s baby shower at this restaurant, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how everything turned out. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious and there was more than enough for everyone. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the quality and variety. The waitstaff were efficient, attentive, and very pleasant to deal with throughout the event, helping everything run seamlessly. While I had to guarantee 65 guests and unfortunately didn’t meet that number, the restaurant handled it professionally. Although they weren’t able to reduce the bill, they generously packaged up all the extra meals so nothing went to waste — a gesture I really appreciated. The cost was fair for what was provided, and the overall service and atmosphere made the event feel very special. I would definitely recommend this venue for dinner as well as for hosting baby showers, bridal showers, or other celebrations. A truly lovely experience!

I catered from Ponte Vecchio for Christmas Day dinner. Because they are closed on the day. I picked it up on Christmas Eve. They prepared everything so that it would reheat to perfection!! We loved everything. Not only was it delicious but it was presented and packaged so beautifully. I am very impressed with the quality and service. From Dina helping me finalize the menu to feeling proud to serve my guests a special Christmas dinner. Thank you to everyone at Ponte Vecchio in old bridge. Maria S.

This is the sister restaurant of Fresco’s in East Brunswick and it’s another winner. The service was not on par with Fresco’s this night, but it was probably due to our server having a party of 15 to serve. However, we weren’t neglected whatsoever as other servers along with other support staff did their best to ensure we had our meal served on time and some refills on our drinks. We started off with some crab stuffed mushrooms which were excellent and highly recommended. We ordered veal Marsala and a seafood capellini dish. Both were excellent and served in large portions, more than we could eat. The veal was tender and had a very nice sauce. The Seafood capellini had large pieces of lobster (more than expected), about 10-12shrimp and ample pieces of mussels along with clams, both in the shell (garlic and butter were prevalent 👍). Both dinners were excellent and had to take home leftovers of both. Would have given 5 stars, but the service just wasn’t that great this night, as indicated by the large party which detracted from our experience. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant and will continue to patronize it again. BTW, it’s BYOB, in case you need to know. (Liquor store just next door). Ponte and Fresco’s are just a shade off from 5 stars, however I can’t rate it as such due to this site’s rating system 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Either site is worthy of a try, very good and never disappoints. Basically, Ponte is 4.7 and Fresco’s is 4.9 IMO. Enjoy!

A lot of specials, food was delicious and the waitress was awesome. Very attentive and super friendly. The courses were timed perfectly, and the coffee was served at the exact same time as the dessert. Italian cheesecake was amazing. Chicken cutlets were not breaded for the chicken cutlet Parmesan which was a little disappointing. BYOB

We love this place but there were a few minor mishaps. The waitress held the full heavy bottle of sparkling water in one hand and held up a glass to pour the sparkling water and dropped the bottle. She should have left the glass on the table and used 2 hands. And then reached on front of my wife to put the glass to her right and then cleaned up the spilled water. The waiter did the same thing with the bread. On both occasions my wife had to lean back. They should have walked around. The food was great and I like the new table lights.

First time here, was alittle confusing where it is from the parking lot, did a circle around the front of the building driving past to find, entrance is on the side not easily visible from the parking lot fyi. Very nice inside and busy. Things were served without a rush so was enjoyable no rush. My steak was overdone (but wasnt bad just not how I asked but not bad where I would send back), the ravioli I wish was presented a bit nicer, was basically just in a bowl with sauce, still was good just had a tad higher expectation. I ordered a soda which doesnt seem like a big selling item because I was brought a can, I think that took it down a notch (would have passed on it if I new but wasn't part of my review rating just didn't expect that). Overall nice place, food was good, certainly won't break the bank and recommend it.

Service was exceptional and our server was very prompt and knowledgeable. My issues lie with the spacing of the table creating issues for wait staff navigating around guests and being able to place down the trays of food to serve guests their meals. The restaurant was very crowded which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I think it could be arranged better. I was content with the food my fiancé and I ordered but it felt like it lacked an additional level of spice of flavor. I would be open to trying the location again- but make sure you have a reservation!

This place is absolutely outdated. It's an American country restaurant using a lot of Italian names. The price is reasonable, and the portion is super big! Unfortunately the pasta is over cooked. Their chicken marsala and chicken francese are the same chicken dish with different sauces. The sauces in general are too salty. Desserts are not impressive at all, supermarket grade. Need some big makeover from the kitchen.

S
Steven Kristoph

My salmon dish lacked presentation and flavor. The grilled veggies were too thick for my liking. The crab cakes were decent, but I swear I think they had filler even though we were told it was just lump crabmeat. Very expensive in my opinion, considering the quality of the fare. Sorry, I won't be eating there again.

I have been a regular Ponte Vecchio customer .... having celebrated many occasions over the years. This was my first "pandemic" visit and sadly, with mixed results. The main courses (see photos) were very good! However, the appetizers were NOT worthy of Ponte Vecchio's standards or the price. Burrata Special was served without bread or toast, Stuffed mushrooms consisted of 4 tiny (teaspoon sized); Calamari was again very tiny pieces (could not fit any pieces on my pinky), baked clams (6) were (you guess) very small. In NJ, this seems to be a trend ... value of appetizers are not like before. Trying to reduce costs to improve margins. I know restaurants are hurting because of state restrictions but don't take it out on loyal customers by reducing food quality.

Food was very good as was the service. I won't return because of the credit card surcharge. As I said, the food is good here, but the prices are not cheap. Stop nickel and diming with things like surcharge on a credit card. Yes, I understand there is a three percent surcharge restaurants pay when a credit card is used. That's the cost of doing business. Most restaurants do not charge this surcharge. And. not offering fountain drinks and having to pay three dollars for each eight ounce bottle of soda is a little ridiculous.

J

The food itself had its highs and lows. The tuna tartare (a special that evening) was excellent and worth recommending. Unfortunately, the lobster ravioli was very disappointing. It lacked substance, wasn’t filling, and the lobster inside tasted more like a lobster juice than actual lobster. What truly ruined the experience, however, was the service. Our group of 14 was served 13 entrées, while one person sat waiting nearly 20 minutes for their meal. The server claimed it was “sent to the wrong table”. For a restaurant at this price point, that level of disorganization is unacceptable. In addition, entrées in general took far too long to arrive after appetizers. Overall, while a couple of dishes were enjoyable, the poor service overshadowed everything else. For the cost, I would not return or recommend this restaurant.

My review on how they handled Valentines day from the parking to leaving: Parking was difficult, no valet and there are almost 15 businesses/restaurants all in one strip sharing the same small lot. Good luck finding a spot, especially with some other restaurants and the dunkin posting signage of 15 min parking tow away zone. As soon as we checked in we had to wait about 25 minutes. We then sat, and I was presented with a very dirty water glass and a loving thumb print on my knife. Switched it out, not the biggest deal. Then to order took another 20 minutes and we enjoyed the bread and frozen butter. Waiting 1 HOUR and 15 MINUTES for one appetizer and salad is where I draw the line, I mean I was running out of conversation! Then another 30 minutes for the entrees to come out. Chicken parm was thick cut and their mozzarella didn’t even melt, showing the quality of cheese they use, not high at all. Chicken francese was apparently good. Fried Calamari and Caesar salad was enjoyable. We no longer wanted to wait so we opted out of dessert and just requested the check. That took another 15 minutes with the server holding onto my card. Apparently they “lost my table”. Also, the tables are VERY close together, about a foot in between each. I hope you enjoy the people sitting next to you! All the above reasons is why I rate Ponte Vecchio in Old Bridge a 3/5. I find much better value in other restaurants for comparable value.

S
Steve K

Overall, it was just OK. Food was decent, but did not WOW us. And the atmosphere was uncomfortable. Tables pushed too close to each other and have no privacy. Had 2 awkward couples next to us and could not enjoy quiet conversation. Feels like you are sitting with a big group & it is very loud overall. Service was fine, but i would not go back.

So my wife and I I have been here probably about a dozen times with some friends with some family by ourselves etc. my best impression of this place is a hit or miss the food either really good or really bad. Our most recent visit was February 16, 2019 Walking into the restaurant itself was kind of a turn off because they had menus stacked up on chairs right by the front door. The manager that was at the podium just seem to have a bit of an attitude even when we walked in to till the time we left. So my wife and i ordered some of the basics the hot anti-pasta for two I believe it comes with shrimp clams muscles and fried zucchini and eggplant. The dish itself was very good but I do have to say between the clams and the muscles they were kind of greedy which means that they were not properly purge. Next we ordered for our Main course two of the specials of the day one was a steak with stop shrimp My wife actually sent it back because the steak had no flavor no taste whatsoever and it was over cook the manager got an attitude about it did offer another dish I will say but when he was taken off the bill you can see him at the podium shaking his head. I ordered the scallops with the risotto the scallops were spot on the risotto was horrible it was mushy kind of like a rice putting and really had no flavor to it whatsoever I didn’t send it back as I’m not a person to send back a dish but I would not get it again.. we did order desserts and their desserts were actually very good so two thumbs up for that. My overall review of the place when you walk in The decor is really nice. Bathrooms are usually very clean and kept up with so good job to the staff parking and it’s not the restaurants that is very hard at times because the parking lot is just horrible but again it’s not the restaurant but it’s self . The waiters and waitresses again I would say it’s kind a like the restaurant itself a hit or miss you get a really good one or you get one that’s not so good and we’ve had a mix of them over the years going to the restaurant. Price of the food I would say it’s on the high but not completely on reasonable. One of the things I do really like about the restaurant is it is bring your own which does save you some money so you can bring wine and beers etc. and they do have glasses that they do provide for you so that would be something good but I do you like about the restaurant overall I would recommend trying it for yourself but again he cautious what you order it is either hit or miss

My first experience going to that restaurant is bad do not order VealParmesan is Very, very thin meat covered by bread cramp, heavy sauce, and a lot of bad cheese And cheesecake is like frozen butter!

Mike Morano Meets the world

My Wife and i loved Ponte Vecchio until this past Saturday where we had a nightmare Christmas Eve..Days before the holiday we ordered and paid in full for our Christmas Eve dinner which included an expensive but wonderful Tomahawk steak that i have purchased from here many times..We made it very clear to not put any type of sauce on it or anything other than serving it plain..The Woman Angela assured us it would be just the way we ordered it….Until Christmas Eve came along and we picked up our order and brought it home to find this steak dripped in this garlic cream butter that cheapened the meat…We called right back when we got home and some guy answered stating he was the Manager and saying because it was a “high ticket item”…..He couldnt make me a new steak so if i drove back in the freezing cold on Christmas Eve and returned the steak to him he would give a full refund but if i wanted to keep the steak as is dripped in the garlic butter i would get 25 dollars back…until we went back and forth and he put me on hold multiple times to then tell me i can get a refund for only half the price of the steak…I have purchased this Tomahawk time after time and love this Restaurant so i was beyond shocked the options that were given to me..It was Christmas Eve there wasnt much open so i agreed to keep the steak and get the half price refund…I doubt we will ever go back again and i doubt ill be recommending this place to my co-workers and friends based on this horrendous customer service..The words “High ticket item” that the Manager used and in his arrogant tone made me disgusted knowing ive purchased this “High ticket item” MANY MANY TIMES! Awful way to treat a loyal customer!

Really shocked at how this place has 4.5 stars. Came here on a Saturday evening called 20 min prior to going and they had plenty of space available. Now I know why they had so much availability. The food was downright disgusting. Some of the nastiest calamari I’ve ever eaten due to how dry it was. My filet mignon was tough and chewy. Not sure where they source their meat from but they should definitely change vendors. My wife ordered penne a la vodka and that was the most okay thing we ate which was also sub par. Truly and thoroughly disappointed and wish I went to Taco Bell instead. Do not waste your money here. Go to steakhouse 85 in New Brunswick instead or order in for the night.

t

The service here was fine but everyone's meal was either average or below average. I ordered swordfish. It came out with clams and mussels on top. The shellfish was hard and rubbery. Really poor cuisine for any restaurant let alone one that is charged these prices. We all would never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

V
Vincent Gragnani

I used the men’s room when I arrived and saw a kitchen employee using it and he left without washing his hands. I should have said something but didn’t. At the end of the night as we were leaving my friend told me he saw the exact same thing happen — kitchen cook left men’s room stall without washing his hands. To see this once was bad enough. Twice tells me the kitchen staff has no regard for cleanliness and hygiene. I said something to the manager and will not be back.

J
J Bosko734

They have great food and the atmosphere is casual, elegant, great place to bring family or business. I recommend immediately verifying and ordering if you are interested in their specials, the waiter Joseph (who has many Joeseph's in his family.. TMI) did not notify our table they ran out of a special. Several guests at our table were very disapponted! The waiter gave us the specials and came back 1 hr later ( table of 10) and when several at the table ordered the 22oz Prime Kansas City Steak, he informed us they ran disappointed! Recommendation to management, inform your staff to notify customers when you run out of entrees.. set customer expectations!
