Great welcome as soon as we walked in the door . lots of options on the menu. I had the sampler platter tri-tip beef and pork ribs with a chicken thigh a side of potato salad and a cup of chili. Everything was great . My wife ordered the pastrami sandwich also fantastic. They cook everything outside on a custom pit . While we were leaving we had the privilege of meeting the owner and shared the restaurant history with us ❤️💪

This is one of the Best BBQ I have eaten at . Staff take your order correct. The Food is fantastic. I purchased the large TriTip Sandwich on Rare side because it will continue to cook if you leave it sit wrapped up. The house sauce is great . Portions are great. Taste is fabulous. It is a thin cut which makes it taste sooo good!!. I also got the Potato salad which is homemade not out of a container. So the flavor is great..and a Fountain drink. They offer other drinks also . They have a fantastic condiment bar. That is very Clean. And on Ice.. Really it's a one of a kind excellent eating BBQ.. Owner and the employees are very attentive. I tipped them and they deserve it. I eat a lot of different BBQ Of all the places I always come back to Porter Street. Try this sometime I get a tri tip and pastrami Sandwich. Now that's a great flavor. Love the Cobbler, Try the Burger it's fresh burger and very nice sized. The burger is underrated in Eureka. I would put it at the top.. Enjoy.

One of our favorite places in town! nice small town feel. Their soda is always bubbly. Their sandwich bar is amazing. Love love love. I wouldn't change a thing

I had the small Tri-Tip sandwich and it was packed with delicious meat! They have a bar where you and add all the toppings you want plus a warm pot with great BBQ sauce. Friendly staff and clean seating. You can sit and watch the traffic on 101 and enjoy your food and good music.

Great Hot Pastrami Sandwich and Tri-Tip Burger. It's not a fancy restaurant but the food is sooooo good! I mean, it was soooo good. I was making groaning while eating. The place is clean and they care how you feel about your food.

Drove through recently and tried this place. Ordered the heart attack sandwich, it was so good. If it wasn’t closing time I would have ordered another. Recommend this to my friend. His family loved it. His daughter doesn’t eat meat much, and she really loved the ribs. They are bringing me a sandwich home lol. Tri tip, ribs, and bbq sauce are awesome. Will drive through to try again.

This is a Humboldt Staple. Best damn beef ribs in the state. Great people. Friendly service. The cheeseburger 🍔 is a must!. Tri tip is always on point. Yum yum get me some!

The Tri tip and Chicken was excellently flavorful. The BBQ sauce was good and the Cole slaw... the chili left somewhat to be desired. The garlic bread was very good also. When we entered there were no customers just is. We were told take out only and complied so we ate off the tailgate of our truck in the parking lot. When we re entered for some foil there were a couple tables where folks were eating inside. That was a bummer. Oh well... once only trip here.

The bread is thin so you really just enjoy the meat. They have a condiment section which has things you can put on sandwich if you want. Also we got the sampler which comes with a beef and a pork rib, tri-tip, a piece of chicken, garlic bread and 2 sides for $24.99 what a deal! The chicken was so juicy inside with some crisp outside and had that nice smokey grill flavor. Tri-tip was moist and flavorful. I preferred the pork ribs over the beef but liked both. The sides are good. They had clam chowder as the soup of the day and we both enjoyed the flavor. Perfect texture and not all potato like some spots. Staff was friendly and I think since we told them it was our first time and was about to order way too much they gave us an extra beef rib and a drumstick : )

I just don't think this BBQ was for me. The staff are amazing. Helpful and very nice. I had the pork ribs and 1 beef rib. The macaroni salad was okay. The beef and pork ribs had great flavor. However, they may have been over seasoned. The sauce that they had to dip was very good. Both of them were extremely chewy. My jaw got a workout.

I just don't think this BBQ was for me. The staff are amazing. Helpful and very nice. I had the pork ribs and 1 beef rib. The macaroni salad was okay. The beef and pork ribs had great flavor. However, they may have been over seasoned. The sauce that they had to dip was very good. Both of them were extremely chewy. My jaw got a workout.

I ordered my 1/2 lb burger medium and what they served me was a crispy critter. I didn’t send it back because I don’t like to waste food. I hope the staff is more careful going forward.

Porter Street Barbeque - not a fan of this style of “stewed “ meat with a BBQ flavor. - Huge restaurant- menu is $$$ - real retro style atmosphere. The pulled pork sandwich I ordered was stewed - served in a cup - because the juice with the meat was substantial. Not a real smoked flavor stewing meat over time makes the meat watery tasting. Potato salad needed salt - I loved the black olives and the pickles- just a pinch of salt!!. - To me a budget eater so spending my money on food I would not serve a house pet is concerning to me. SEE PHOTOS BELOW!!

Well it's a sad day I'm always very sad to find a barbecue place that doesn't have the best barbecue because it shouldn't be that hard Good barbecue is relatively easy if you concentrate on quality of the meat and the proper temperature of the cook and time and also the seasoning at this establishment the employee seemed on point friendly the food actually had relatively good flavor could have done a little extra with it but you know okay but the pastrami was not cooked properly I guess they don't understand that it is a brisket and it needs to be brined a certain way aged seasoned and then cooked you can't just barbecue a brisket and expect it to come out with the tenderness that you need same goes with the ribs it's a process it takes time for establishment like this I understand Time is not readily available because of their setup but if they were able to at least put a good char of seasoning on it and bring it up to about 150 160 internal temp they could wrap it or put it in a stainless steel pan and then put aluminum foil over the top and put it in an oven to bring it up to 205° or until it has tenderize properly. The ribs have been barbecued to get flavor in some color on the outside The ribs are received were raw I'd say probably rare like a steak very chewy not very tender You can't cook a rib like a steak and expect it to be tender You have to bring it up to temp to where the connective tissue loosens up it is a must with ribs with pork it's a must that you have it done fully cooked and still could be chewy and not a good rib I'd say if they tightened up their cooking on the ribs and the meat I would definitely love to come back and try because I'd say the flavor was still satisfactory.
