Had a chance to drop by this place while in Watertown. Food was quite good; service was friendly. Previous reviewers may have dined at Los Amigos in the first couple weeks after the opening and had worse than normal experiences, but I think they're on the right track. I will be back.

We invaded this restaurant with 6 kids under the age of 7, and the service could not have been better. They to thought of everything, cups with lids, extra napkins, etc. The food was great, best queso I've ever had. Highly recommend you try it!

When compare to Mexican food back home (Texas), I would give a 4 star. However, for the location this place is great! My wife and I love their tacos and tortas. The only thing I have found I don't care for is the taste of the chicken in their chicken enchiladas, but their cheese enchiladas are on point.

I come here all the time and every time I go I have such a good experience and this most recent time I went I accidentally messed up my order and Bessie was so kind enough to go out of her way to take care of it and pay for it and she has given me the best service since I’ve been going.

I've only been to Los Amigos once. A friend of mine and I had lunch. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. We both had burritos for our main course, but we also ordered multiple appetizers and sides. I especially enjoyed the chicken quesadilla, a shrimp taco, and the queso & chips. I will definitely be going back to Los Amigos soon.

Okay I came here to be a little bit of a doody disturber which i still will, because this is a military town and since vageeners live here the tacos must be eaten. However on a serious level, the chicken tacos are absolutely delicious, and these are tacos worth fighting for.

Stopped in while we were overland traveling. We had to make a pit stop to do laundry and restock our groceries, but we wanted to grab a bite for our anniversary. Loved the vibe & music right when we walked in the door. The food was great! Loved the pineapple drink! We had chicken enchiladas, beans, and rice (full disclosure. My husband thought the rice was very plain and needed salt, pepper, and some sauce.) Great little place!! Staff is very attentive and friendly!

I moved to the evans mills area 2 and a half years ago, and we discovered los amigos by checking out what the local places were. Since we went to los amigos over 2 years ago we love to go there and eat or pick it up and go home. We average about 2-3 times a month and I'm always telling people to check it out. My fiancee and I both get the los amigos bowl, but we get it in any of the 3 proteins chicken/steak/pork and it's always amazing. Great portions of food and the restaurant is always clean when we go. I don't do a ton of reviews but I like to let people know when a place really goes above and beyond.

Idk why this place only has 3.? Stars, maybe because it's a self-serve style place. 🤷‍♀️ We've been twice now to make sure the first time wasn't just a lucky day. Both times, it was really good! We'll make the 30 min drive for the tacos alone, so the chips and cheese are a bonus! They run a lot of to-go orders, and they were busy enough tonight to have justified another set of hands, but they were definitely handling business! We'll be back 😊

First restaurant I've tried since coming to base and loved it! The food was so tasty, and the portions were good. I had a big order, and the one younger lady (didn't get her name) even helped me carry it to my car! I will definitely be coming back :)

Shockingly good. The service was friendly and very fast. We dined in, and had the nachos and tacos. The refried beans were excellent, but the star of the show was the Birria tacos. Best taco I’ve ever had anywhere. They were huge, so we took some home and the chicken tacos were even delicious the next day. This place is worth going out of your way for.

Tried Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant and it did not disappoint. The horchata was refreshing and perfectly sweet with that classic cinnamon flavor — a great drink to go with the meal. The enchiladas were delicious, full of flavor, and covered in a rich sauce that made every bite better than the last. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Great food, great drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you’re craving good Mexican food. 🌮🥤✨

If I’m ever in the area again, I’m going straight to this place and ordering a California Burrito with steak as the meat. This food is great! The prices are pretty steep but you pay for what you get. This is hands down the best Mexican food in the area and I couldn’t recommend any more. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. I wish I had a scale to weigh this burrito which had to be at least 2 or 3 lbs

I came to Fort Drum for a military school from NYC. And I have to say, this is the best tacos I've had since I left the southern states back on 2022. Birria and steak racos are bomb. 5 stars recommendation. Must go if you're into mexican food and tacos. The service, 5/5. It isn't a wait to be seated type of restaurant but food is brought to your table and every so often you're asked if there is anything they can help you with so you don't have to get up or ask for it. Atmosphere, very chill, music isn't too loud, so you dont have to yell having a conversation, cleanliness it's very good, Overall, a very good place to come and eat mexican food

Los Amigos is the absolute best in the area. High quality, fast service, and very reasonable prices for portions. I’ve been coming to Los Amigos since they first opened roughly five years ago and they have yet to disappoint. Very friendly staff. Honest hard working people! Highly recommend. A favorite of mine is the steak nacho burrito, along with the Orange Tomatillo homemade salsa. Top notch!

Nice fast casual Mexican restaurant. I had the humongous Los Amigos Burrito with Pork and a Mandarin Orange Jarritos. Price $13. The burrito was very nice and could easily be split in half for two people (it was more than I could eat in a single meal). The staff seemed very friendly and offered meal recommendations. Food was good and the service was great. Tamales were a bit on the thin side but great flavor. Tomatillo salsa had a good spice. The tacos were a good size and everything was prized right.

So exciting to have another Mexican restaurant in Watertown, and the location being so close to Fort Drum is great for the military transplants who miss this food! Only complaint is no " white cheese" that my kids love... But the hibiscus water and decor is great!

The food was overall pretty okay for being so high up in New York. My favorite item from the menu was the Quesadillas. Those are a must have. The tacos are very pricey and I don't recommend you purchasing them.

First time here. It's not bad, yet I had better though. Friendly staff and wiling to help. These massive burrito was filling which is a plus. Horchata is meh, nothing to write to home about. It's can be expensive yet the massive quantity of food is worth it. Yet when it's come to local, I have to give it to Hacienda. Los amigos is best near Fort Drum.

This is more of a Tex-Mex style bistro or cafe than a typical Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is casual but with character, the building is clean and comfortable, and the food feels more home made. The menu is MUCH smaller as well... Which is a good thing. They served our drinks in Styrofoam cups and the food came in plastic baskets which I didn't care for, but that's the only negative I could think of. Definitely recommend.

Update: We were refunded, which was unexpected, but very appreciated. Usually don't have issues with orders. This time I paid extra for queso Blanco on two dinners and didn't get any, so paid $4.50 for nothing. Was also disappointed with the 1/8th cup, if that, of Steak that was in my bowl. There were no refried beans, but maybe 10 whole beans in the bowl. The 3 taco dinner had very little rice and beans. The quesadilla was very sloppily made and barely had any sides in the to go container. The fries were about the same amount you get in a McDonald's small, definitely not worth $4. For the $2-$3 increase in prices and decrease in portion sizes, we're disappointed.

I loved the place, but wanted to leave feedback as respectfully as possible regarding the food. I personally did not like the chicken fajitas. That is my go to so that’s what I got, and did not like them at all. They lacked any flavor, and the veggies seemed like they were from frozen. That being said, I would not order the chicken fajitas again. My partner got the birria tacos and loved them and honestly they looked really good. I’ll try tacos next time I think, but only because the staff was super friendly and the place looked nice and well kept.

I believe this is a mom and pop shop, their organization is very good earning them a 4/5. Rating them lower than that is a bit rude because I would 110% come back and try this place again. Tacos: really awesome “street” tacos taste homemade Breakfast burritos: not your standard breakfast burrito their potatoes are fries so expect something different overall pretty good Tamales: These made me really sad the only reason being is because there was not a lot of meat in them. There was at least a pinch of meat if they added more meat to them they would be some of my favorite tamales!

We had a nice, casual a meal here. Get horchata and something with chorizo. Skip the tamales, which are surprisingly bland and may be filled with chicken, instead of the pork I'm more accustomed to.

As you can see from the reviews, this place can be a little inconsistent with the food taste and quality. I really think it depends when you go but most of the time we have enjoyed the food. Definitely better than chain places like Chipotle or Moe's. The staff almost make it for me. They're the nicest and so friendly. Very helpful and happy to make sure you're satisfied. I prefer to support local businesses. I recommend adding hot sauce or hot peppers (and plenty of cilantro) to pretty much everything if you're looking for a more authentic Mexican taste. I always get the shrimp tacos and load it up with all the extras. I've always been a fan. My spouse loves the carnita fries. Tamales are yummy and at a good price point. We've never been disappointed with our horchata.

Maybe it's a regional thing but the food to me was not that good. I grew up on authentic Central MX dishes and this food was really bland and boring. I mean, if I'm really craving Mexican food ... never mind because they didn't even have drinks to wash it down with.

So long story short, 2 carne asada burritos 1 came out good the other came with NO meat. I didn't believe it until my wife kept saying she didn't taste any meat half way in. So we opened it up clearly which we shouldn't have to but verified there was NO MEAT. Idk, I've been here before and it was good but come on no meat in a $13 carne asada burrito???

I rate a 3 maybe 2. Good flavor but meat was really dry, and my burrito wasn't evenly spread on the tortilla so one bite would be all lettuce then one other bite would be all beans ect. It wasn't juicy and fresh and as delicious as I hoped for especially for an $8 burrito.

Is ok..for the only "mexican" restaurant in the area... you can say it is good because maybe you haven't tried any greater food than this... Tamales No Bueno. Great service, but food for me is a 6 out of 10

Being from Texas, I think my opinion of Tex-Mex is fairly good. The food was delicious (Steak Fajitas) but a little bit salty. Meat and roasted veggies came in good proportions, the rice and extras (tomato, lettuce) was only acceptable for like half the portion. After the meal I was getting a to-go box and requested 3 more tortillas, some shredded cheese and rice. This cost almost half of what the meal itself was (meal was $12.25, extras to go were $5). That seemed a bit ludicrous to me but it was either that or waste what was left. All said and done, happy with the initial price and taste, disappointed with the follow-on pricing.

Staff is nice , but had two burritos made wrong and the replacment burrito was reheated microwave food. Very disappointing when spending so much. :( Came in asked for no sour cream. Husband left it had sour cream. ( allergic) came back to replace it. Burrito wasn't fresh tasting: Came back for another visit samething sour cream again 🤦‍♀️

This is a good food, don’t get me wrong. Much better than Chipotle, for example, but something is missing. Small details, small something, lack of confidence. Something is keeping from enjoying food.

It was okay. This is the first sit down Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in the area, but it definitely isn’t anything worth writing home about. The burrito was okay, but the steak could’ve had way more flavor. The tacos were decent. The tres leches cake was really good. If you’re not familiar with actual “authentic” Mexican food you may enjoy this place, but unfortunately this just didn’t hit the spot for me.

Placed a 35$ order over the phone went to pick it up waited ten mins for someone to acknowledge me which is fine they were busy and I understand being short staff and busy.. but I ordered 3 things that was it THREE and they forgot one of those three things so consider each item 10$ a piece and they forgot one of my 10$ items.. when I got home and checked my bag It caused an entire stupid argument between me and my boyfriend because apparently it is my JOB TO CHECK THE ACCURACY OF MY OWN ORDER before I walk out of the store. So for that I am giving this review because you get paid to give fast friendly and EFFICIENT service. Don't tie the to-go orders bags CLOSED until you check that each item the customer ordered is inside of the bag.. so whoever tied my bag shut.. didn’t check that the items were correct and actually there- consider this constructive criticism from an employee in the food service industry… don’t forget customers chips !!

Los Amigos is really easy to order online and that’s great, the service is quick to pick up but we just don’t like the amount of meat you get. My wife had a sparse amount of meat and excess onions and cilantro on her tacos. I got the Fajitas a couple of times now and it just doesn’t seem worth it. Was extremely watery and sparse on the meat. If you do go here I’d only recommend it for pick up because if you attempt to dine in they don’t seem to have the staff available to readily sit people.

Burritos are good, but it stops there. Been coming here for a few years now. Great home style tortillas for the burritos, and they're HUGE, but skimpy on the proteins especially if you order steak and filled with more cheap stuff like french fries, rice, beans etc. It's really the good quality tortilla and using a real TexMex/CaliMex cheese that makes these burritos great. Everything on the menu is not good. Especially the enchiladas. I even noticed that the chicken used in the enchiladas is always dried out and not the same quality as the burrito chicken. The tortillas used in the enchiladas are white corn and not yellow corn. That's personal preference for me, but they're also not done right because the tortillas are hard and stiff and clearly not warmed up the right way before the dish is made. Never ever get the "queso enchiladas" it's got the same flavor profile as tostitos queso paired with dry chicken.

Ordered bean burritos from here today and 3 of the 4 were basically just like biting into a tortilla with cheese. Didn’t hit any beans until a quarter of it was left. When we first came here they were massive and delicious. Over time of coming here it has just gotten smaller and smaller and that’s extremely disappointing. After over a year of eating here I’m sad to say I most likely won’t be coming back.

Ordered from here two different times. To food is okay. The first time I got a steak nacho burrito. The burrito was mostly beans and cheese. Not even real cheese. Reminded me of the cheese they serve at taco bell. I occasionally hit some of the other ingredients . The second I ordered nachos for 10 bucks I expected something that would get me full. I got mostly beans and cheese again. A very small amount of meat and chips with a dab of guacamole and sour cream. I even paid extra for pico's de gallo. For 2.50 I got a small spoon scoop. I expected a little more for the price. I was very disappointed; definitely not worth it.

I love Mexican but my experience here was subpar to say the least but I will say the food came out promptly and the staff were kind and courteous. Idk what it is but the food lacks flavor, other than the salt and all three salsa’s were the same no flavor. It was a real let done because we’re excited to see a Mexican place with good reviews in the area as there are not many options but something is missing here and it’s called “flavor”.

Update: 10/18/24 This place used to be my favorite here in town. As a California it's hard to find authentic Mexican food and this place was always spot on. Not anymore, food quality has fallen and the ratio of meat to lettuce and rice has shufted. You literally have to get extra meat on the side to get what you used to and the meat quality you do get is not the same. The last two orders were just awful with rotten avocado in my guacamole, and chicken that was mostly chopped skin. Made me nauseous afterwards. I feel badly but I'm downgrading my review from 5 to 2 stars and can no longer recommend. Outstanding food, excellent quality, portions are huge and a great overall value. I am a California transplant and good authentic Mexican food is hard to find but this place has it! A true gem for the Fort Drum area!

Ordered a steak nacho burrito and when I tell you I basically got a tortilla with purely liquid inside I’m not even exaggerating. It was like holding a juice pouch. The entire thing is nacho cheese and mushed avocado. After squeezing it all out like a tube of toothpaste in an effort to find the steak, I found a microscopic amount in the bottom that looked like scrapings out of a pan or ground beef. There was also no tortilla strips inside??? Two stars because the people are at least nice

So I got the California Steak burrito normally so freaking good but this time when I cut it into fours and took a couple bites I bite into a burnt fry and when I say burnt it was burnt so badly it hurt my tooth trying to eat it. Normally I love los amigos. If I could post the photo I would but it apparently doesn’t have that option.

So I was spoiled growing up in San Diego and my grandparents from michoacán.... I dont have to say anything but was this cooked by Mexicans? I will save my 10 to 12 dollars and go to taco bell... terrible food and being the states that can't even do cali burrito right... burrito is for us food not mexico doesnt exist texmex... tried variety of the menu and trash... but hey it's watertown...up north move to Milwaukee WI for good Mexican food where the meatpacking migrated to...

I bit a small rock in my burrito and on top of that, the Horchata was this disgusting goo. I’m ashamed to say I’ve spend hundreds at this restaurant. The owner needs to start QA/QCing the employees because apparently they don’t care.

If I could do no stars I would. Asada fries are dry, drowned in hard cheese, no seasonings what so ever and drowned in refined beans as well. Horchata tastes like straight milk.

I've ALWAYS had them bring both my panda wok and los amigos orders at the same time because they are owned by the same people. Never had a problem until today. I always do a bigger tip on the higher cost order using the app. Again, I've NEVER had a problem until today. Well the orders came separate, and the panda wok driver refused to leave without a cash tip. He harassed my 12 year old brother and my mother when I was in the bathroom all because you guys couldn't read the same simple directions I always give. You've officially lost customers after today if this doesn't get fixed.

The food is frozen and reheated with sauce dumped on. The tortillas fall apart like they are reheated and the food was so bland. Service was ok but why are you eating in the front out of your cookware? Spend more on ingredients and cooking staff and less on decorations. Really really disappointed.

There food had no flavor! Salsa was watered down. Beans tasted like they were out of a can. Tamales were almost all Mesa. Fajitas were cold. Definitely was the 1st and last time eating there!

I literally took one bit of the carne asada taco and spit it out. The onions were old and rancid, and the tortilla was completely cold. The green sauce on the enchiladas tasted like a straight tomatillo purée and I ended up throwing the $15 worth of food in the trash after two bites. Don’t eat here.

So we are from Tucson AZ literally 45 min from the border I was really excited for some Mexican food and I'm super disappointed! I ordered enchiladas in red sauce I got some plain chicken wrapped in a plain corn tortilla no sauce nothing and it was cold. Place is super over priced as well. Sucks that was my first experience

Moved to Drum cause the military, and wanted to try some Mexican food. This place should not have 4 stars. The food definitely comes out a can, vegetables have no seasoning, chicken taste old and hard, might be microwaved because it got cold pretty quick. The rice was good but everything else trash. I mean trust me I’ve had Spanish food my entire life and this is the worst I’ve ever had. Don’t take my word for it and try it for yourself! Just trying to help out others save some money in these hard times.

So it was first time coming here for hubby and I and we were really excited but unfortunately it was the worst Mexican food we ever had .We first noticed that the prices were pretty expensive but we thought maybe it'll be so good that it's worth it..not even close. We payed $30 for a bowl, a burrito and a tiny order of chips & salsa(not even a real full service restaurant). I'm from Texas where there's Mexican restaurants on every street and normally I'd spend about $5-$7 for a bowl but this place charges about $11 for a bowl that is majority rice with 2 bites of steak. You can tell the food is really cheap low quality, no flavor and old. It's just really disappointing to pay such high prices for such trashy food that taste like it came out of a freezer after 6 months and then microwaved. Clearly the food was not made with any effort. I'd recommend going elsewhere, seriously you'll regret spending your money here. If you know good Mexican food, then you know this place isn't it.

This was the worst Mexican food I ever had. I never had to force myself to eat food before! Everything was just nasty! Idk why they have 4 stars …. Los amigos need to be LOST AMIGOS!!! Not authentic 🤮 I had the chicken nachos only thing that was tasty was the chips …. The can refried Beans taste better than what they put on my plate.

Los amigos is really letting people down 1 1/2 year ago til maybe 5 months ago would recommend 100%. Just tried it out again because I really wanted to believe they can get their act together……. they didn’t. Bring the old cook back this is trash and out sourcing company’s to deliver makes it even worse. What happened to the real portions of chips, the salsa on the side, the cooked veggies, they shouldn’t be raw bell pepper

What started off as a hopeful and hunger-filled experience quickly turned into a nightmare. I ordered the grilled steak burrito which didn't take very long to prepare and now I know why. Only a few bites into my burrito I discovered something that just didn't look right. What I thought may have been an insect actually turned out to be a screw. Yes that's right, I pulled a very dirty, disgusting screw from the burrito. I was horrified. This restaurant doesn't look at all like something like this would ever happen here. I guess there's a first time for everything right? Well for unfortunately, this will be the last time that I dine at this restaurant. Had I taken one more bite and swallowed the screw, there's no telling what kind of damage could have been inflicted on me. I will say this, the restaurant was nice enough to give me my money back and a freshly made burrito but I feel like that goes without saying.

I have never written a review before but thought that I needed to inform people of this cafe. I say cafe because it is a small dinning area with very minimal sitting room. This is not a restaurant, there are no waitress so I least I don't have to tip for what they call service which consisted of multiple food items being cooked incorrectly or by given the the wrong meal. The price is extremely overpriced for the amount of food you receive. Speaking of the food it is by far extremely tasteless and spicy. Spicy to the extent they tried to cover up the fact that there is no real cooking being done. I'm giving 1 stars based solely on the reason that they have a delivery service to on post which on drunken nights may come in handy.

It's horribly disappointing, not at all worth the price. I ordered the steak enchilada dinner, and I got three floppy corn tortillas wrapped up around the smallest portion of tough as rubber steak (nothing else inside), served next to what I imagine a child's size portion of rice and beans to look like. The only thing that was generous about the portions was the flooding of queso on top. Really wish I hadn't wasted my money here.

Worst “Mexican?” Food we have ever had and definitely overpriced! We were charged $2.00 each for tamales that were supposed to be chicken and jalapeño. All we got was the masa. It cost us $50 for 2 people for a lunch. My wife is Hispanic. We just got home from San Antonio and remembered how Mexican food is SUPPOSED to be. Honestly, go to Aldi’s up the street and get their tamales. Very delicious! Don’t bother with here. 🤢

Normally don't review however I realllllly think this establishment needs to read feedback and make changes. I wanted to like this place. Ordered once food was bland and no chicken in bowl. Gave a second chance. I ordered two chicken bowls and chips. First the food has ZERO flavor and is very obviously warmed up not fresh. My bowl was rice and lettuce. Three small prices of chicken not an exaggeration either. I even wrote in the comments section add chicken due to not having any in the first visit. Thinking okay they would know I wanted chicken in my chicken bowl. Very disappointed especially because I spent $40 only to toss most of it.

I have tried other food here before and loved it, especially their steak fries. I was so excited to try the shrimp Tacos tonight but was very disappointed. They were very dry and had a weird texture to them. I wouldn’t get them again but I would definitely try something different!

Paid 20 dollars for my food when I got to the restaurant they said sorry no order showed them I ordered showed them the amount withdrawn through my banking app and they said sorry and waited for me to leave I will never go back terrible service I would not recommend

Got to be the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The pic is the nachos, hold guac, extra sour cream. Expectation management due to upstate NY but come on. They also messed up the rest of our ofer as well.
