If you like good food, and I kean food that human hands have made, look no further. This place is simply delicious! Rita is the owner, and she treats everyone like they are her kin. On Fridays, they even have steaks! Go get some great food. The best steak in the Texas panhandle.

The heavens shined on me today. I had a rib plate and burnt ends that were absolutely fantastic. Finding a BBQ joint that is really good is so rare, this one is highly recommended.

Delicious ribs! The prime rib was absolutely incredible, cooked to perfection. Their pulled pork was great too.

This place is a MUST STOP if you are going through! You definitely won't find any BBQ like it on either side of the state line!!!! That pulled pork is really where its at! Although everything they offer is top notch!!! You wont be disappointed not only with food but service as well! It doesnt get any better than here!

We travel between Abilene, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico and we love it when our timeframe gets us to Farwell and the Barbecue Shop between 11 and 2:30. The food is delicious. The staff are wonderful. Rita is so kind and every time we’ve been there we feel like we’re part of the family! This is a great establishment!

My family and I tried The Bbq Shop tonight and it was phenomenal, the food was delicious and the service was top notch! I have two small children who felt very comfortable and welcomed. The food was definitely worth the price and the 15 min drive from where we live. I heard lots about this place and now I know why. Also, they do let you call in ahead! We will definitely be back.

Fantastic family operation. Rarely have I been to a BBQ place that had such universally good food. We were super lucky that they were sold out of brisket, pork shoulder, etc. It forced us to try some of the less popular BBQ (Turkey, ham and sausage). 100% of them were fantastic. I strongly encourage anyone who loves good BBQ to go if you’re in the area. Thanks from Minnesota

Phenomenal food. Great people with great service. Recommend stopping in if passing by! I’ve eaten at most of the top BBQ places in Texas and this was as good or better than many of them. Very moist (even the lean) but very flavorful and not over smoked. The green chili sausage was fantastic. Will be back for sure when passing through again.

Top-notch BBQ here and the hospitality is second to none. Brisket sandwich really hit the spot and the sides were all good too. If you’re coming from New Mexico, be sure to make it in before they close at 3, but add an hour for the time change heading into Texas. You don’t want to miss this place.

Meat is really good The place is clean. The staff is friendly. They have all kinds of sides which I did not try. Bathrooms are clean.

Had the two meat plate. Ribs and sliced brisket. Brisket was extremely dry. Ribs were delicious but you only get two tiny ribs. Whatever happened to getting a whole rib? I'd probably go back but only for the ribs.

Don't bother with the mac n cheese or potato salad. The buns and bread are cheap and throw off the taste of the meat, so best avoid the sandwiches. The 3 meat plate was a rip off for $27 the meat portions were sadly small. Only one if the "burnt ends" was burnt and only on one side. Basically fatty brisket. It was good but that's definitely not burnt ends. The meat was cooked correctly luckily. Everything else was Basically a waste of their time and my money.
