10/10 for Flatonia Texas. Everything down to the Cesar salad. I will say the rolls were kinda hard but it was 3pm. I had the Flatonia Chicken, excellent choice!
Service was great! You get bread and sweet butter. The plates are very full and tasty. Clean and comfortable environment. Would recommend.
We stopped here one time on a drive across country. It’s been 4 years and we still remember how amazing the food was. We had to compliment the server on the way out to let them know how much we enjoyed it. The server replied with “thank you! Robert himself is actually right there cooking the food.” This place gets 10/5 stars! Thank you Robert and your wonderful staff!

Was traveling through last week and stopped here for a Sunday lunch. They were super busy, so I sat at the bar counter. I wish I’d taken a picture of my food, but I was so happy to see my beautiful steak, I forgot. My sirloin was cooked exactly as I asked and really, really good. The sides were perfect too - veggie option and steak fries (thick and crunchy outside, soft inside). It’s a small town restaurant, but their food was as good as any steak house. Nice and attentive staff, too. 5 stars for me, and now I’ve got a favorite place to eat when I’m heading west on I-10.
Sunday at 1:30pm, We were promptly sat, and drink and appetizer order taken, and Rolls and butter delivered. We ordered 2 waters, half order of Stuffed Jalepenos, chips and salsa. Appetizers delivered shortly after, as we finished up with our main order. The Steak soup was loaded with steak! I got the Tenderloin Tips ( so ggod i forgot to take a picture and cleared my plate, and he got the fried combo with tenders, fried shrimp and fish. Everything tasted great and huge portions
We had a team dinner here. They were able to accommodate our 25 members. My steak was a little overcooked for me. The taste of the steak was good. I enjoyed the Texas Rice. My carrot cake was huge. It was served cold. It was a good place to eat.
Absolute BEST restaurant ribeye Ives ever had and best calamari I’ve ever had anywhere! Talk about melt in your mouth! Great service, great food, large portions, and the steaks were packed with flavor and expertly grilled. The garlic butter was an amazing compliment to the steak. Prices are very reasonable, but I did think the steak prices were a little high. Nonetheless, we’re repeat customers.
I travel quite a bit and like to give reviews for places I come across so that other travelers can find places with ease. Our group had an absolutely fantastic experience at Roberts Steakhouse! From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We ordered a variety of dishes, including pork chops and steaks, and every single plate was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food and friendly hospitality, Roberts Steakhouse is a must-visit. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!
Great place to go if you are travelling in between San Antonio and Houston. You know it’s good because the locals keep it afloat. Pay heed to the reservation comment, we went at 5:30 and it was empty but by 6:30 it was packed! (And it was on a weekday) The food is great and I absolutely giggled that you could have a taco as a side to your steak. It was surprisingly good! It used the steak meat trimmings and I dipped it into the queso. The staff is super attentive and kind. Oh also-for reservation I used the Google reservation system and it was really slick. It’s interesting how technology has progressed!
Traveling with camper from Houston to San Antonio and stopped here for lunch. Easy off and on I10. Ample parking for our truck and camper. Service friendly and fast food all came out fresh. Rolls were nice and fluffy with a little hint of sweetness. Ceasar Salad didn't skimp on the dressing. Hubby had the steak soup hearty and flavorful. I had chicken fried chicken with garlic mash potatoes. Gravy and mash potatoes were creamy, chicken was moist inside and breading crispy. Hubby had chicken fried steak with steak fries. Steak was moist inside and breading crispy outside. Fries were nice crispy and tender inside. The only thing we didn't like was that the batter didn't stick to the steak/chicken. But overall, this was a good lunch stop and highly recommend!
Dropped by for late lunch after picking up girls from UT for holiday break. Had chicken fried chicken, which was moist and crispy. Green beans were fresh. Nice local restaurant. Will surely come back.
I've been wanting to try Robert's for a while, and I finally made it. Nice restaurant. The ribeye was really good. Flavorful and tender. Also tried the Chicken Fried Steak, very good. Enjoyed the sides as well. Good service. Recommended.
Wife and decided to travel up from Shiner and try out Robert’s. We were no disappointed. We got the shrimp stuffed jalapenos as an appetizer and then I had the chicken fried steak while the Mrs had the hamburger steak. You know you’re in for it when the waitress ‘warned’ me about the size of the chicken fried steak. She wasn’t kidding!!!! Everything was delicious and the service was quick and pleasant. Will be back for sure.

Definately satisfies your meat and potatoes craving. Steak sandwich tasty and good portion. Lots of locals hang out here as well. Service attentive but not rushed. Old time saloon atmosphere without the smoke. Watch out for potholes in the parking lot they will jar your teeth loose!
Passed thru on the way home from Houston & OMG. Couldn’t even wait to leave the restaurant to leave a review. Customer service is great & the food is great. Even the Cesar salad was good af. Chicken fried chicken and blackened fish and shrimp pictured. Loved them both. Amazing job. Would definitely make the hour drive from San Antonio to come eat here. Bathrooms were very clean. Our waiter Carlos was so awesome. Great personality. Very respectful. Oh & good margaritas also.
Great food, reasonable prices. Right off of I-10 in Flatonia. Spouse loved their shrimp brioche, broccoli and salad. My chopped sirloin was great with sautéed mushrooms and onions. The green beans were arguably the best I've ever had, seasoned in butter and garlic. Both meals became 2 meals each. Carlos was an attentive server. If you're on the road near Flatonia and need an afternoon/evening meal, Robert's is highly recommended.
WOW! I got the Cowboy Steak and it was DELICIOUS! Wife got the Filet and it was great too!! Service was EXCELLENT. And the atmosphere was very welcoming! The staff were polite and everyone was smiling. If we were gonna be here overnight......we might have enjoyed the Bar!! We'll be back again!!

Made a stop on the way to San Antonio....Craving a steak I pulled in to Robert's. The people were nice and the service was quick. Had the potatoe soup and a Filet, the soup had great flavor highly recommended, but unfortunately the steak was chewy not tender like a filet should plus it was severely undercooked. The undercooked didn't bother, I've had steaks like that when I was younger. The quality of the meat was underwhelming. If I'm in the area again I'm sure to give them another chance.

The woman who refills drinks walked up to our table, grabbed an empty glass, and repeatedly tapped it on the table in front of one of our guests loudly, until we all stared at her stunned, and angrily mumbled, “what are you drinking??”, interrupting the person at the table who was in the middle of speaking to us. This is absolutely ridiculous behavior, and she should be both ashamed of herself and let go from the restaurant. She was rude to us last time we came as well. Safe to say we WILL NEVER come back to this place, specifically because of that woman. We have ate there for years, holding multiple get togethers in their private room. But never again. This woman is actively ruining the entire business. After she pulled the stunt with the glass she stood near the table staring us down. It was insane. Pathetic service on her part. If you don’t like your work go do something else for a living.
