Is it really a bagel if it’s not in New York? The answer is yes, if you come to Boil and Bake. Love the owner. She brings tried and true bagels from her hometown in a name I can’t quite pronounce but is NY. She’s been doing this her whole life and it’s a delicious wet that is nothing short of spectacular. If you’re in the area this place is def worth the money. They do take cards too! It’s not cash only but cash is encouraged.
For years, I seached high and low for a real bagel in DFW. These meet or exceed any bagel on the east coast. I've considered buying a house closer so that I can stop in more often. Hands down the best bagel in DFW. 10/10
Went here for the first time today. Got 2 bagels a French toast bacon egg and cheese and a salt with strawberry cream cheese. Came to $11.50. Very reasonable pricing especially compared to Einsteins. Bagels were soft and not hard and chewy which was AMAZING! Will be coming back!! Must try!
Finally, a bagel shop in Texas that truly gets it! These bagels are the real deal—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, just like the ones we love and miss in NYC. Every week, I make a pilgrimage to this little slice of bagel heaven to grab a dozen for my family (and let’s be real, a few extras for me). Just go; you won’t be disappointed.
The couple makes these bagels from scratch in the authentic New York style. They are always very fresh and melt in the mouth. Must try.
Ordered and fed a big group of people at a presentation I gave. The bagels were ready for pickup early AM when they said they would be. EVERYONE loved the bagels and quite a few could tell they were genuine New York style bagels. I was also sent with a big assortment of various cream cheeses which were a big hit as well. The strawberry one was the first to get devoured. It was great to see my food eaten and everyone enjoying themselves. Kudos to this little shop - I will be ordering more.
We love Boil and Bake! Best bagels in town. They are authentic NY bagels and have amazing flavor and consistency. Don’t go anywhere else but Boil and Bake. Atmosphere is great for a place to go to pick up bagels. Love to take them home and eat with my family. Thanks for moving from the melting pot.
Bagel was a perfect balance of chewy but tender. So good!
Been going there since they opened. A bit of a trip but if I’m going by I’ll stop in and have never been disappointed. 3yrs after my first review their bagels and cream cheese are still always great. Was born and raised in Connecticut/NYC and these are a taste of back home. 8/7/25 it has been too long because I’m not in the area much but going back today it was still amazing.
Yummy! So glad I found this bagel shop! Their bagels are flavorful, soft and fresh. Loved the lox sandwich, and also took home some others. That egg bagel makes an outstanding tuna sandwich the next day BTW. It's so hard to find food products made from scratch with healthy ingredients these days. Couldn't be happier I found Boil & Bake. I will be back!
So had to go to Walgreens to pickup a prescription and happened to drive by this “bagel” place. Bagel shops so uncommon and it’s my partners most favorite food so I had to stop in on Sunday around 11am. Ordered the salmon Lox bagel for him, a bacon, egg, and cheese poppy seed bagel, a dozen Everything Bagels, and a pound of homemade plain cream cheese. These bagels are awesome. Besides the breakfast bagel which got toasted, they don’t normally toast bagels unless asked. The texture of the bagels is amazing you get to really enjoy the interior of the bagels nothing like the chain bagel places. Very awesome experience. The owner (which I heard her mention she’s actually from New York) was very appreciative and welcoming. At the same time very efficient on getting the orders out quickly. I’m sure she’s fun to work with you can just tell her personality. She even let me know how to properly store the bagels and let me know since they’re not full of preservatives can last couple weeks in fridge - who’d ever guess that’s possible? Definitely be back for more probably this weekend. Hopefully they’ll have sesame seed bagels in stock when I come back those are my favorite. Before posting this review I read several of the other reviews. Owning my own restaurant & bar I like to go through reviews and the one that caught me off guard was someone rating 1 star because they closed “early” because they ran out of bagels. Seriously? Rating someone one star and hurting a business for something clearly out of their control is ridiculous. Now like me this owner doesn’t take to BS reviews and bite her tongue she responds and I love that - too many customers are so petty they use reviews to screw a business and it’s their lack of upbringing in a decent family I guess. So I’ll be back and this time I’ll make sure to tell others to stop by and leave good reviews for their great product and service - because to make up for the whiners that left 1 star we have to replace with finding more positives.
Absolutely the best bagels. Einsteins have NOTHING on them. I love getting a half dozen for the week.
Best place in the local area to get bagels. Their (New York?) accents tell you you’re in the right place for the best bagels. They’re ruined me, I’m so picky about my bagels. Super nice couple too! You have to get there early though or they will sell out before closing
This is bagel heaven. I love my lox on everything, and they do it right. Best you can find this side of NYC. I drive down from Highland Village every chance I get for this yumminess. Annemarie and her family have the biggest hearts and have turned me into a regular. For those who have said they sometimes close early, their signage posts hours but caveats that they could close early if they sell out. They are good enough that sometimes happens, and they can't just whip up another batch (bagels take time). Get there early!
Amazing bagels, visited here a few times during my trip and even got some to take to home to the UK, we just can't get the same! My favourite was the salmon lox, cream cheese and everything bagel. They also do loads of homemade cream cheese flavours. Really friendly service everytime too and clearly a lot of passion for what they do!
This place is a gem! I don’t live in the area any more but my parents still do. Every time I visit them I HAVE to get a bagel from this shop. The bagels themselves are perfectly dense and soft with tons of flavor. The art of the bagel has definitely been perfected here. You can’t go wrong with any sandwich on the menu. I’ve ordered a few and they are all so delicious. The owners are amazing too and will brighten your day with friendly conversation. A++ for quality you can taste and exceptional service. I’m grateful that this shop thrives in the DFW and I hope they consider expanding!
I had the lox bagel sandwich. My wife had the egg salad bagel. My sandwich was very delicious. My wife felt like her egg salad was a little bit on the plain side but The bagel was good. I wish they had more drink options. I wish they had seating inside the restaurant. But all in all it was an excellent meal for the price. Would definitely try it again.
This bagel shop brings me back home to NYC every time I visit. The owners take a whole lot of pride in what they do.
This bagel place is great!! The staff are friendly and the food never disappoints! My family and I love coming here!
***UPDATE - was just in a couple days ago, November 2024, and there is signage posted starting Jan 01 2025 they will be cash only. Not a bad thing but something to be aware of*** Have lived in town for a couple years now and just made my way over this morning. Wanted something different (and prefer to support small biz when possible). I walked in and looked at the menu, Ann Marie behind the counter was super helpful in describing all the items. I would up with a salt bagel and veggie cream cheese that was absolutely amazing and very reasonable priced. I am already planning my next visit to this place and cant wait to try other items. FYI there was a sign inside that asked to pay with cash if possible, but they do still take card. Will try to remember to carry cash next time.
Got to have bagels here this morning for the first time in years since moving to Arizona. Even better than I remember and as good as the bagels and the chicken salad (my personal fav) are the customer service is even better. Will always be a priority to make a stop here whenever I’m in town. So good that I’m even taking a dozen bagels back to az with me! Can’t wait for next time 💜
Closest thing to NYC bagels I've found in DFW, owner is super nice, highly recommend this place.
I come here every time I’m home for college and the lady at the front treats me well everytime! If you’re going, get the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese!
They have traditional bagels and made handcrafted since 32 years …. They are amazingly tasting and good spread options .. Extra star for the owner herself who is so kind and hardworking ✨
First time trying this spot! 10/10 One of the best bagels I’ve had, other than in New York. The bagels itself is so soft and fresh tasting. I got everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, YUMMY! And the PB&J on cinnamon raisin bagel, Yummy as well. I had asked for it toasted but the owner had said it’s better not toasted because it’s freshly made that day. She was right, it tasted better not being toasted. They make everything in house, including cream cheese fresh with no preservatives. You can taste the freshness in the bagel and cream cheese is so creamy. They do not skimp on the cream cheese, best part. Will definitely be back often.
Hidden gem in flower mound. No bagel place in DFW can hold a candle to the love and care that this family puts into their bagels and their commitment to replicating THE New York bagel taste. They nail it every time. Fluffy fresh bagels with a great variety . The owners are the nicest realest people you’ll ever meet and rightfully take great pride in their product.
As a bagel aficionado, let me start by saying, NYC bagels are simply the best. I’ve always been loyal to Absolute Bagels in the Big Apple, and outside of NYC, I’ve never found a bagel that could compare. That is, until I discovered Boil & Bake Bagels in Justin, TX. If you know, you know. If not, you better have a friend in the hospitality industry who does. Boil & Bake Bagels is the hidden gem you didn’t know you were missing. They don’t advertise, they don’t bother with anything other than their ten classic varieties, and they certainly don’t cater to millennial modifications. It’s simply OG bagels and cream cheese 101, and they nail it every time. Pro tip: get there 30 minutes before they open to ensure you don’t make a wasted trip. When they sell out, they close up shop, no exceptions. The owner, a true bagel connoisseur from Brooklyn, insists that you shouldn’t toast their bagels. This way, you can fully appreciate the complexity of the dough. So, here’s my suggestion: buy two. One her way, no toasting, to savor the authentic texture and flavor. And one my way, lightly toasted with cream cheese on the side. Let it cool just a bit so the creamy, elegant texture of their perfect schmear doesn’t melt. Boil & Bake Bagels in Justin, TX is the real deal. Trust me, it’s worth the early wake-up call. You’ll feel like you’re biting into a piece of NYC, right here in Texas.
Two years later and the quality of the bagels has not changed. We try to get bagels once a month because they are excellent! BTW, the owners are super friendly. Stop in to say HI and get the best bagel in town. Bagels are a perfect balance of chewy and soft. You have to try it! Best bagel I have had in Dallas area.
Cannot be more thrilled to have this amazing bagel shop here in Flower Mound. As a native New Yorker who has had all the best bagels, have to say these are just as good if not better. The family is also just so darling as well. We love supporting them and are so happy they are part of our community.
AUTHENTIC! Being raised in New York I was skeptical at first… I walked through the door took one breath and I was back home again!!! The most AUTHENTIC bagel experience I’ve had since being lucky enough to call Texas my home. Straight forward, family run, tastes amazing, the right type of oven and quality quality quality. Had an everything bagel straight out of the oven mind blowing delish, they even have egg bagels (if you know, you know)! Thank you for making Flower Mound your home, I don’t know how they pulled it off but… I LOVE THESE BAGELS!!!
You can tell that every bagel is made with love and deep knowledge for the craft. I always get an untoasted everything bagel with sliced lox and everything on it. These bagels could change the way Texans view bagels. Not even a comparison to other local bagel places.
Unassuming bagel shop with incredible bagels and service! I highly recommend the Everything Bagel with Nova Lox. It’s as good as in NY or South Fl!

AMAZING! Literally the best lox bagel I’ve ever had. My daughter got the everything bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese, and she loved it. So happy to have found this place
THESE ARE THE "BEST KEPT SECRET BEST BAGELS" IN NORTH TEXAS! We visited a more widely advertised competitor in the area who charges an arm and a leg for a single 🥯. Also good, but does not hold a candle to the authentic ones here. Spent lots of time in NEW YORK. These are the real thing.
Wow! Best bagels I’ve ever had! Fresh, soft, delicious. Great customer service as well.
We ordered a lox everything bagel (no onion) and it was perfect. She advised not to toast her bagels when they are fresh, and it was a nice change to how I usually have lox. Also tried the plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese (also not toasted) and it was great too.
This is my favorite bagel shop. Now that I live two hours away it is an extra special treat to get breakfast here. And since it's such a special treat it's so hard to decide what to order. My favorites are an everything lox bagel and an everything with egg, cheese, and sausage. Flower Mound has changed so much over the years but it's nice to know no matter how much time passes, I can always get amazing bagels.
This place goes far beyond just bagels….My sisters and I come here almost every week, and I genuinely look forward to every visit! The bagels are great, but what really makes this place special is the owner. She’s direct and genuine, and her values speak volumes through the way she carries herself and connects with people…. She really values the relationship she makes with her customers and it’s apparent. Conversations with her are real and often leave you thinking in a good way long after you’ve left….This place is somewhere you want to come back to again and again and again! It’s so hard to find an authentic, and genuine business these days. Could not recommend a place more.
I go almost every saturday and get the same thing... Everything bagel with egg salad, and a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Every single time if is absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend this bagel shop enough for authentic NY bagels!
This place is absolutely amazing! I ordered the lox sandwich on an everything bagel, and it blew me away—every single ingredient was fresh, flavorful, and clearly high quality. The bagels themselves are perfection: chewy on the inside, with that perfect crisp on the outside. Beyond the food, the vibe here is awesome. The staff are warm, welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about what they do. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again, whether for a quick bite or to just soak in the good energy. Don’t walk here—RUN! A true gem for bagel lovers.
This is an authentic bagel experience. I’ve never been to New York, but I imagine it being like this: Walk in, place an order, small chit chat—boom, there it is. Pay the lady, go about your business. What I love the most about this place is the authenticity of it all. I have never once been “prompted” by her screen to tip. That really stands out to me. Sure, there’s a tip jar, because you’d be foolish to not allow people to do it. When I think of “shop local”, this is the epitome of that, and these are friendly business owners that do a great job, at a fair price, with a positive attitude. I couldn’t ask for more out of a business when those three boxes are checked. Now go try a damn bagel!
East coast bagel in TX. Who would have thought? If you’re missing the east coast boil and bake bagel, this team will bring back what you’ve been missing. Glad to have this shop close to home.
Absolutely amazing bagels! My fiancé and I stopped in on our way home from the grocery store and we were blown away. He got the lox bagel and I had a French toast with strawberry cream cheese. Both got home and decided these were our favorite bagels we’ve ever had! The owner and employees were also very kind to us. We’ll be here every Sunday for our new football Sunday tradition!

Just saw this location on the map for today. When I visited, I really wanted a bagel, and they were closed because they stated they ran out of all inventory. Please, on a Saturday, if you have more expectations of a higher volume of customers, I recommend you make more so you can stay open for the posted operational hours. I hope 🙏 this will be considered! I would be happy to taste your decision bagels! 🥯 And please forgive the overstepped. You're right. I've never owned a bagel shop. I just saw how you put your heart and soul into the ingredients of the bagels and wanted to try one!
