New place, they have Chinese cuisine and American Chinese Food. Taste very good!

Cozy and comfortable. Well made food and ambience. Staff is great and courteous. They can also do party trays for birthdays and graduation parties. Would definitely recommend for special dinners or dates.

Spicy boiled fish S7 and mapo tofu P1 will change your life! Stray from your typical American Chinese fare, and you'll find explosions of authentic Chinese flavor hidden in this relatively new Flower Mound treasure. Our kids love the rice noodles with chicken and steamed dumplings. Entrees are big enough to share so the price is better than at first glance. 4 thumbs up from us! Just made our 4th run there, and always consistent quality. Today, she threw in some whole oranges and sesame balls for free, very generous (probably had extra right now, please don't expect freebies all the time, of course). Love this place!

Came here for lunch, even though incredibly short staffed the service was prompt and the food was absolutely wonderful. Price for lunch is just right and the atmosphere is relaxing. Great little spot to grab a bite.

Taking over the space from the longtime Empress of China in Highland Village, TX, comes Joy Chinese Cuisine - and I am happy to say the quality is still fantastic. The dining room largely remains the same, but is much brighter than the previous dimmed lighting. Large, shareable portions of Chinese favorites like cashew chicken and General Tso's, broad menu, delicious appetizers (I'm a crab rangoon fan - theirs are wonderful, plump, fried golden brown, and served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce). Service was prompt, perhaps a bit overzealous - our server was far too eager to clear plates, bring the bill, etc - perhaps he was new and learning. But it didn't detract from the overall experience, and one I will be returning to soon!

Love placed. My favorite dish has to be the chicken flat noodles. However, I've never had a bad dish here. The owner regularly works there and is super friendly, and always stops by to see how the experience and food is. I would say this is a hidden gem in the lewisville area. Give them a try for sure

We have ordered from Joy’s through the past couple of years. We ate there for the first time last night and the service was great. Food was came out hot, fresh and quickly! We have always order the sesame chicken and it is always on point. We’ve ordered the king pao, noodles, fried rice in the past and it’s always been fresh and delicious. I particularly like the fact that the food is not super greasy. We have never been disappointed. Thank you Joy. Look forward to many more family dinners here!

I’ve ordered takeout a few times. Orange chicken, cashew chicken, fried rice, and it was always really good. I ordered chicken egg foo young tonight and it was fantastic! Piping hot, fresh crispy veggies and really flavorful! Friendly and polite staff. Can’t wait to try another new item next time!

First of all, the Fragrant and Spicy Pork was absolutely delicious! The Rice Noodles with Pork my wife ordered were also impressive for something on the lighter side. Second of all, I requested my pork be made "as spicy as possible" and they absolutely delivered. On the rare occasions we order out, I make this request and am usually disappointed. But the chef really took care of me. Don't ask if you don't mean it!

While we only ordered takeout, our experience here was great! The young man at the front was very nice and answered any question that we had. Service was quick and, even though they had already put soy and ginger mustard in the bag (we didn't know until we got home), they gave us more without questioning! I am not really used to eating Chinese cuisine that is this high of quality. I'm used to "questionable" meat and little flavor. Joy had the exact opposite. The chicken was clearly high quality and everything tasted great! This may bring me back to eating Chinese (I usually eat Thai because you can taste all of the ingredients!)

Wonderful to have a Chinese restaurant nearby. Joy is such a wonderful improvement to what Was here before. Restaurant is nice and bright, food is very good and hot, not cold. Lighting is not too bright & not too dim. Tables were clean as well as the floors. Service was prompt and friendly. We will be coming here more often as it is closer to home. Hot and sour soup always hit the spot when I am not feeling well and this soup was just the ticket to help me feel better. Consistency was not too watery or to thick. Just right. This place is a keeper folks, so let's make sure it stays open.

We really enjoy Joy Chinese Cuisine. We get takeout frequently and we often go there in family groups and typically bring friends and family when they visit from out of town. The food is always good, service is outstanding and we always leave full, satisfied and very happy.

We came here for the first time and were very impressed. The hot and sour soup is spicy and full of flavor. The Singapore noodles were delicious, though I may ask for a bit extra curry next time. The biggest treat was the Mu Shu Pork, which was seasoned to perfection and served with lots of pancakes. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was good. We will definitely be back soon.

My first experience at Joy Chinese Cuisine and it won't be my last. I decided to try it based on other reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The hot and sour soup was rich and thick with a good hint of spice. The Sichuan Beef (ordered extra spicy) was very good and the best I've had in years. I will go back but please add Sichuan Beef to the dinner menu.

Perfect meal and great service. I hosted a large lunch group of 38 today from Overture Flower Mound 55+ complex and it was perfect! Great food, service was perfect and it was a lot of fun. Jean, the Owner, did a great job and her waite staff was on top of their game. Thank you very much for making this happen. The kitchen staff made it all happen with great timing.

I've never been to the restaurant in person, but I order from them several times a month. The food is always great, and they're very good about substituting. I consistently ask them to change the vegetables they make their lo mein with and they always do! Overall great place, you should try them!

The best Chinese food around. I was around when they first opened and they are still great today! They have a large and nice dining area to dine in, and the wait staff and owners are always great.

My husband & I tried JOY for the first time tonight. Christian had our "order to go"ready and provided excellent customer service. The restaurant was cozy and I plan on going back to dine in. Our food was perfectly cooked, hot & very generous portions. We ordered egg rolls, General Tsao Chicken & beef with broccoli. All excellent!! We are now regulars.

My husband and I went for lunch, and we had cashew chicken and black pepper chicken. The flavor of both was spot on and not overly sauced either the veggies were fresh and still had some crunch to them. I can't stand soggy veggies. The wait staff was good, very polite, and tentative. We will definitely come back.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and I have to say this meal was absolutely delicious! We ordered the dumplings, veggie egg rolls (not pictured), General Tso’s chicken, and Beef with Broccoli. The veggie egg rolls were a 10. The dumplings were a 9. The general Tso’s chicken, although wasn’t spicy as advertised, was a 9(SUPER saucy!). The beef with broccoli was a 7 — just didn’t have much flavor, but it wasn’t bad at all. The side of steamed rice was simply that, nothing to write home about. The fried rice was meh, not much flavor. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant to try even more of their dishes! I would highly recommend.

Just had Joy Chinese Cuisine for the first time. My daughter and I were returning from a grueling journey to the only place we could get a DPS appointment in nearby Lake Worth (pause for laughter) and she said she wanted dumplings. Who am I to deny this request for my dear and only daughter? Anyway, I had heard good things about the place so we decided to drop in mid-afternoon (2-ish). Two orders of steamed pork dumplings, some Oolong tea, and we split a bowl of their beef noodle soup. It was all absolutely delicious! The seasoning on the dumplings was perfect, and the noodle broth was rich and savory with just the right amount of heat to please both me (a heat freak) and my daughter (a big wimp). Our server was fast and friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to watch the gentleman actively making dumplings out in front, too. I highly recommend both items we got. You will not be disappointed! We will definitely be back.

I loved the atmosphere as soon as we arrived. The ambience is nice and peaceful with music featuring traditional Chinese instruments. Also, it wasn’t packed full of tables. There is a bar areas with TVs for those who want to just get tapas and drinks. Server Alex was very professional and efficient. The Jasmine tea was really great on a cold evening. The crab rangoons are really, although I wish they had more crab (imitation crab). The hot and sour soup and egg drop were hot and delicious starters. Chicken with vegetables platter was packed with meat and the veggies tasted so fresh. The menu says they don’t add msg to the food and they go easy on the oil. That being said the fried rice wasn’t very oily- some people might prefer with more oil. I thought it was great. The Hunan beef dish was good and the meat was very tender. Someone at a nearby booth ordered the appetizer sampler and ir looked amazing. Excited to try that next time. Overall giving it all 5 stars. I was impressed with service, food, cleanliness and ambience!!

After being gluten free for 8 years, my doctors told me to eat gluten for some upcoming tests. So I knew I wanted some Chinese food. Man on man, Joy Chinese was an amazing choice! We LOVED it and hope to go back soon. We got dumplings, egg soup, orange chicken and fried rice. It was amazing and I highly recommend.

This is by far the best place to eat in the area if you’re looking for Chinese food. I would recommend the walnut shrimp, orange chicken, crab rangoon, and fried rice. The portions are VERY good for the price. I always have left overs for the next day. I especially love the little chips that come with both the dine in and to go orders. Occasionally they’ll give u a free scoop of ice cream during lunch if they’re testing flavors. Overall I would 100% percent recommend Joys Cuisine.

Online it shows that the lunch special vegetable lo mein is $9.99 and when I ordered it they told me that the price was $12.99. I told them that it says $9.99 online. They really need to honor the online price or change it. I canceled my order as this kind of thing is very frustrating.

The meat in our dishes had a very strange consistency and there was a flavor added to the dishes we've never had at a Chinese restaurant. The spice they added was very off putting and the general taste of the dishes was off. The meat seemed like it had been boiled and was very soft and doughy. None of us liked the meat. Our waitress was very nice and I enjoyed the decor but the food was just not good.

Ordered through ubereats. The food was either flavorless, overcooked or had a bad after taste. Like the sauce was not good. In one case in I think the pan or something may have leftover grease or burn stuff on it giving it a bad flavor. Through the 135$ not including uber fees in the trash same day. Uber refuses to refund. Needless to say not going to this place ever or ordering from it again.

I have been eating here for a few years and probably ate here a couple dozen times with no issues. Food has always been great, service has always been great, prices and atmosphere have always been great. However, after seeing a post from a couple of days ago and what’s happened to me and my family these past 48 hours I thought this review should be posted as all 3 of us have food poisoning. One of us is still in bed and got it real bad. For myself, it was pretty bad yesterday but I’m sort of recovering somewhat today but still not feeling great and my wife had it very mild but none the less she was sick as well. Not sure if it was possibly a bad batch of food, food was undercooked, etc. but it was definitely food poisoning as we were all feeling good prior to having dinner and then we all got sick during the next 8-12 hours. We had appetizers and 3 entrees and shared all the food so I can’t say for sure which dish it was. Again, I haven’t had issues in the past at this restaurant and if it wasn’t for the previous post from 2 days ago about someone else having food poisoning – I wouldn’t be posting this but this needs to be known. This is my first review as I don’t give reviews and normally I would say this restaurant is a great place to eat but because of this experience on Saturday I’m giving a one star review. Not sure if we’ll be back.

We usually have a good experience with Joy but today was absolutely the worse. We ordered pot stickers fried and they came out very soggy and the taste was off. The hot and sour soup had no spice at all, usually its very flavorful. Then the Mongolian beef was all onion and very, very little beef. We called to let them know and the managers response was, the pot stickers are steamed and fried that is why they were soggy, the Mongolian beef does have lots of onions and it is even described this way on the menu...so we will not be returning. They lost a customer forever. Horrible customer service.

The restaurant looks nice inside, but it's service was lackluster. The waitress didn't have great knowledge and messed up the order in multiple areas. She added a full rice order instead of what came with the meal, and management refused to credit it back. Also, when substituting green peppers for the vegetables that came with the noodles, we were charged extra and again, management refused to give a credit. The food lacks flavor and was bland, and the kids didn't even want to finish the chicken lo mein. I won't be returning to this restaurant ever again. Customer service is not a priority to them.

Usually a very good experience and has been for the numerous times I have been here. Today was not so good and actually a bit upsetting. I typically order the same entree, orange chicken, but today decided to try something different and based on recommendations from the waitress. I normally order any chicken from the menu very well done, but even after telling the waitress a few times to ensure that the chicken was well done, (she also said it was lightly breaded and could be crisped up, it was not) it came out twice very mushy. The first one came out very fast, the second plate took an extremely long time and was about the same as the first. I know the owners very well and it was a bit upsetting that I still had to pay full price for a meal that was untouched and was not able to eat. There was no offer to make something different and I even mentioned I had to go find lunch somewhere now. I left with $14+ less in my pocket and still had to find another place to eat fast as I was by now late for an appointment. More than anything I was disappointed by the experience. Just a bummer.

Clean restaurant but disgusting food Over priced, lacking in flavor, made me feel like I was eating hospital food. Would not recommend, went because I saw the good reviews but did not even finish my food. All 3 meals were bland. Do not go

We placed our first to-go order here tonight, and it will be our last. We ordered pan-fried pork dumplings, moo shu pork, and beef and broccoli. We were very disappointed by the food. It was largely flavorless and the flavor we could taste was cornstarch. The prices also seemed rather high. The dumplings were $10 and the beef with broccoli was $17. It was easy to order through the website and pickup was great. The food was just not good. We didn’t even save for leftovers.

I ordered through Uber Eats, this place has a 4.7 rating. I don’t know how. The food is bland, no flavor. I ordered sweet and sour chicken, it came soggy and light in color. I had to put them in the air fryer. The rice taste like white rice with veggies in it, and the egg drop soup smell and taste funny. The only thing I’m eating is the chicken.

F

Truly disappointing. My Shrimp Lo Mein contained unexpected chicken pieces, suggesting a lack of attention to food preparation. The Chicken and Broccoli dish lacked the expected brown sauce, leaving it white and flavorless. The chicken itself was remarkably bland, resembling cardboard. Unfortunately, this meal wasted my entire lunch break, and I won't be returning to this place.

This is by far the nastiest chicken I’ve ever tasted. I took one bite and it’s definitely been frozen for a period of time. It was rubbery and chewy and some pieces were undercooked. After taking this picture I threw it away. Wasn’t worth it.
