Kissena Cafe, a delightful little Hong Kong-style tea house in Flushing, offers a cozy, family-owned vibe. The staff are warm, easygoing, and incredibly helpful, which made our breakfast visit a pleasant experience. Our family ordered a variety of dishes including corned beef egg sandwiches, luncheon meat egg sandwiches, French toast, beef stew with flat rice noodles in soup, milk tea, and coffee tea. The rice noodle dish was particularly comforting for winter, featuring a soup that was perfectly seasoned, capturing a tasteful blend of beef flavors complemented by the freshness of scallions and lettuce. The beef stew was another highlight, with big, tender chunks of meat that nearly melted in your mouth— a superb execution of a classic dish. Although the rice noodles were good, they didn’t quite reach the heights of the best I’ve had. The French toast was beautifully presented and tasted somewhat plain, but the addition of peanut butter was a nice touch. The sandwiches were exceptional, offering a satisfying mix of salty, rich beef and creamy, fluffy scrambled eggs on well-toasted bread. The drinks, both milk tea and coffee tea, were authentically prepared and exactly what you’d expect from a Hong Kong tea house. A special mention goes to the curry fish balls, which were a hit with my son—he loved them so much he asked for seconds. Considering the quality and pricing, Kissena Cafe is a gem in Flushing. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an authentic Hong Kong breakfast experience. (Update: we find that we keep coming back to it :))
When I entered it was pretty small. Luckily, we found a seat. I was starving and my parents were still ordering. After a few minutes the dishes were ready and I was devouring it all. They were all delicious and I hope I come back.
super awesome place. support them because these hong kong cafes are going out of business. food is delicious and prices are amazing.
Love their "Big" wonton, all shrimp inside, very full filling, just like Hong Kong style "super wonton", don't forget the red vinegar…you know what I mean if you are Cantonese~^^ Beef stew is soft and tender, enough taste, easy to chew, if you like spicy, try with their homemade hot pepper oil, it is a very satisfied combination! Approved by Hongkies!
The wontons and the fish balls are a must try! You can really notice the difference in quality. Each bite into the wontons are really satisfying - it will take a few bites cause they're huge! And the fish balls have a really amazing texture to it, you can tell they're made fresh. Can't forget to mention the noodles - they have such a great bounce to them. And the hot chili sauce is SPICY so be careful. I can't wait for their downtown flushing location to open - I will, without a doubt, be a regular.
Very good Hong Kong style foods at very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff also a plus
Nice place to eat, good service. Nothing to complain about.

Nice place to eat, good service. Nothing to complain about.
Our kids are taking music classes at Queens College over the weekend. Very nice people and authentic Cantonese food! Ingredients are simple, but flavor and taste easily at the top in Flushing. We have been happy loyal customers for the last 7/8 years.
I visited because i saw influence's, Joshua Weissman's review on a few dishes. I ordered the corned beef and egg sandwich and a French toast. They were very taste and unique to other dishes I had from other cafés. I would recommend you try it out. I did see other dishes I would try next time I visit. A few tables available for a quick bite. A super cute cozy hole-in-the-wall type of place. If you are thinking about it, then try it.
Been coming here since i was a little kid, always love the teas. The place has changed a bit over the past few years but it's still very, very good, if not better! 😁
Hands down the best hongkong style cafe in nyc been eating for years never dissappoint
This is a small cafe, but the food is authentic Cantonese HK style, tasty and delicious. It is too bad that I live too far away, otherwise I would love to try all their food. Love to be here.
Great place for breakfast and lunch! Great prices and real good food. The peanut butter french toast is something I would recommend as a side to thier steak and eggs for breakfast.
I have been coming here for many years. Price is reasonable and the quality has been consistently good as well. Very authentic HK style food. The breakfast combos are a steal. There are not that many Hong Kong style cafes in the area anymore. Just more restaurants opening up in Flushing serving mainland Chinese cuisine, which is great and all but we have to preserve the HK cafes. I’m a fan of Kissena Cafe and will continue to support this business.
Just real Cantonese breakfast shop vibes. You can see where east meets west and it shines through in flavor. Everything I've had so far after a couple times coming, is simple and delicious. If i ever find something I don't like, I'll update the review but this has yet to happen.

Great cheap tasty breakfast
Food was excellent and reasonable. Only 4 tables. No bathroom in sight.
Ordered from Uber Eats. Food is good, however this is the second time I ordered the family meal for $36 and they forgot the beans to go with the rice.

Legit I had brought extra money to buy a single sandwich and even 4 dollars wasn’t enough to get the cheapest thing on the menu. Plus they don’t take card at all. The sandwich they did end up making me had literally nothing inside but eggs and the thinnest slice of ham. I have never been so baffled at how expensive a tiny bakery could be. I felt absolutely scammed that I had to go home and put more ingredients on that sandwich to make it worth eating for lunch. Will not go back

Avoid - this is a bad place, servers lie and cheat and the drinks are terrible. Don't spend your money here. Go to 88 Canteen instead, they're honest and have much better drinks and service. This place has lying staff that cheat their customers and serve horrible drinks. They stole money from me by falsely overcharging for two drinks (large HK milk tea and large iced lemon tea). According to the menu, the price for both should have been $8.75 but they charged me $11 saying I got a 24 oz beverage which was false. I went home and measured, the iced lemon tea was 16 oz. Trash people, trash drinks, trash place.
