Have been to this place with 3 Indians and trust me it was really great ! Have been craving to have one nice and mild Biryani and I think I got what I wanted. Naans were so delicious. Bombay sliders are nothing but Bombay Wada Pav 😃 Service was excellent You have a nice parking area Restrooms are maintained neat

Great food, great service and awesome ambiance! My all time favorite dish here at Sanskrit is ‘Burrito Bowl’, which is available on every Tuesday. All the items listed on the menu (vegetarian, which I have tried) were delicious and reasonably priced.

Phenomenal Indian food. Bombay in downtown Sacramento was my go to. Now that I found this gem, this is the new go-to for high-quality Indian food. Had the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and classic chicken Tikka masala. If you are iffy about Indian food, the atmosphere, food and service is excellent. Their Samosas are very great as well. Nice crunch to them. Excellent 👌

Great food and fast service!! Biryani rice, tandoori chicken and curry were all cooked to perfection. The large dosai is a must try and can be shared with others. Family eating style, very relaxed atmosphere. The only complain is the portion of curry is a bit small. Definitely will visit again.

Out of towner passing through and gave this a shot. Service was great. Friendly staff on top of ordering and checking to see how food was. Even ordered a dessert to have after the meal and they timed bringing it out perfectly. Gulab was delicious! Butter masala chicken was delicious. Soup had a pinch of heat in it that I wasn’t expecting but it was good. Overall dish was good. Restaurant, table, utensils all clean. Will definitely add it to the list of stops when I pass through.

Amazing food! Ordered the chicken biryani and tandoori chicken—both were perfectly spiced and full of flavor. The mango lassi was thick, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Lovely service ❤️

An amazing place for the Indian Cuisine. Though we have some of the options around Folsom, this one stands out for their delicious food and also the humble hospitality. We had ordered the Grill Shrimp, Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Naan. The Shrimp was crisp and juicy with the aroma of the Indian spices, while the Chicken Tikka Masala took me back to the delicacy of a restaurant in India. The Naan was too fluffy and soft just melting in my mouth. Kudos to the warmth in hosting us with a lively chat by Ms. Preet and Ms. Ayushi. They were very welcoming in nature. The Boss Mr. Kamble was also very helpful to us in an issue with the Billing.

Our first experience with Sanskrit was with our daughter-in-law who is Indian. We all agreed that the food was special. We went there for the second time last night with some other friends and really Enjoyed our food again. The couple we went with our vegan and they ordered from the vegan menu and loved their meal. We ordered the Tandoori chicken. Yummy and very generous. We enjoyed the Poori! We also Ordered a dosa. Spectacular! The service we got from our server Pree Was exceptional. We definitely will be back. If you like Indian food, this is the place.

The speed of service was impressive too, ensuring that our meal was both relaxing and timely. Located in a popular shopping complex, Sanskrit is easy to find with ample parking. The atmosphere is welcoming, though the interiors could be a bit brighter to feel more inviting, and the access to the restrooms could be decluttered to improve the overall flow. There were some stored inventories that seemed out of place and could be a bit of a hazard and an eyesore, but this didn’t overshadow the quality of the food or the service. Overall, Sanskrit is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants around, offering both traditional and fusion on Indian dishes. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flavorful and enjoyable meal

There were lots of cauliflower pieces that were perfectly cooked (perfect firmness & not mushy). - Butter chicken: the gravy was good and creamy but I wish that it had bolder flavor. The chicken pieces were tender.

Food is absolutely incredible. Unfortunately it’s overshadowed by poor service, incorrect orders, and waiting for longer than promised. But it’s worth the wait. Most of the time.

I’m giving this restaurant 1 star because the food was extremely bland and not at all suited to an Indian palate. I honestly don’t know if the food was meant to be intentionally bland or sattvic-style, but either way, I did not enjoy my meal at all. I dined here a few years ago and clearly remember the food being flavorful, savory, and spicy with proper balance. Unfortunately, this visit was a total waste. We ordered bhel puri, which was shockingly bland. This dish is known for its sourness, sweetness, and tanginess — but I couldn’t taste any of that. It was, without exaggeration, the worst bhel puri I’ve ever had. It lacked every flavor that makes Indian street food enjoyable. I could genuinely make a better version at home. Next was the baingan bharta, which again was very bland. It felt like plain mashed eggplant with a light tadka — all the essential spices were missing. Baingan bharta is supposed to have a smoky, spicy, and slightly tangy flavor profile, but none of that was present. We also ordered veg biryani, which was not terrible, but not impressive either. I’d rate it about 2.5/5. Overall, it feels like the restaurant has changed chefs, and the new one does not know how to properly use spices, tomatoes, yogurt, or build the layers of flavor that define Indian cuisine. The “Indian magic” was completely missing. I’m highly disappointed, will not be returning, and feel like I wasted my money.
