Chennai Bamboo Garden is praised for its flavorful Indo-Chinese fusion cuisine and modern ambiance. The clay pot biryani is a standout dish. Some customers have experienced slow service and inconsistent food quality, particularly with certain dishes.

I first tried this restaurant about four months ago and ordered the Thalapakatti biryani along with mutton ghee roast. The mutton ghee roast was absolutely exceptional, it’s the dish that made me come back again and again. The complimentary chicken appetizer that comes with the Thalapakatti biryani was decent. Recently, we ordered catering for a party, choosing mutton Thalapakatti biryani, chicken majestic, ruby glow chicken curry, paneer butter masala, okra 65, and gobi Manchurian. Every single dish was well prepared, flavorful, and enjoyed by all our guests. We received great feedback, and everyone was very happy with the food. We had also ordered food from another restaurant for comparison and honestly this place stood out clearly. It’s one of the best restaurants to order from for catering, and I would definitely recommend it.
I grew up in the UK and have been to a lot of Indian restaurants. This place was very good. The food came out piping hot and fresh. The serving size was generous, specifically there was a lot of paneer in my radiant gold curry. It came with rice and I ordered a butter naan on the side. The owner was so personable and welcoming. I’m visiting from out of town but look forward to coming back here and hopefully bringing family to share the experience. I ate the food before being able to get a pic because I was hungry but here’s the cup of chai which really hit the spot 🎯 The mango lassi was also worth getting.
Chennai Bamboo Garden is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by its modern, stylish ambiance and tech-savvy setup—ordering from a tablet made the experience seamless and fun. The menu is fantastic, featuring a great mix of classic and unique dishes. We tried the Chicken Bamboo Glaze and Veg Bamboo Glaze soups, Chicken Lollipop, Clay Pot Chicken Rice, Dragon Dash Noodles, and Vanilla Choco Chip Ice Cream. Every single dish was bursting with flavor—fresh, perfectly cooked, and incredibly delicious! The spice level leans on the higher side, so I recommend going mild if you prefer less heat. It is exciting to see such a vibrant and innovative Indian restaurant in Folsom. The food, atmosphere, and experience were all top-notch. We will definitely be back soon!
We dined at this remarkable restaurant, at least 6 times and our experience was nothing short of incredible! The food was truly out of this world; each dish was crafted with the freshest ingredients of the highest quality, enhancing every bite's deliciousness. From the exquisite food to the attentive service, every aspect of our meal was enjoyable and memorable. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic and delicious dining experience. It’s a must-visit! They also provided catering food for my son’s birthday. We all loved the food.
My whole family loves this place so much, we got two Clay bowls for four people. It was $40 and we had a ton of leftovers. I would eat this once a week, everything was so flavorful and great. The flatbread was buttery and delicious, I would eat it everyday. If you order a Clay Bowl, make sure to stir it to get all the good sauce at the bottom. The spice was there but not the main flavor, and the menu has a really cool variety of items. Service was great, we got the food fast and the aesthetic is nice. I really recommend it, make sure to show this new restaurant lots of love! Great for takeout too!
Absolutely delicious food. It will remind you of back home days.. our roots authentic taste!! Clean and spacious location with beautiful interiors. We ordered from today’s special’s and it did not disappoint us at all.. I will definitely return. This place is bang for the buck in Folsom!! Must Try!!

It was a perfect evening in this place both ambiance and food were amazing. It’s a must try. I tried Manchow soup , noodles and clay pot chicken all were up to the mark.
Newly opened Indo Chinese Fusion. Food , Ambience is great. Their pot Biriyani is a must try
Amazing food! I ordered the basil chicken, butter chicken, and clay pot biryani everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend.
First time in because we originally planned to go to a nearby restaurant which was taking forever to seat us. The smell was blowing down the plaza and we said heck, let's check it out. Immediately seated, ordered and food was pretty fast. The goat biriyani was delicious (even kiddos enjoyed it). The chicken tikka was great. The chicken 65 noodle was by far our favorite. The kids could have eaten 2 of them (although it came a bit spicy for them it was perfect in the opinion of the adults :). The butter flatbread, cheese flatbread, and garlic flatbread were incredibly fresh and amazing. We ordered more mid-meal :) We will absolutely be back!
What a food. I had just done a catering at my home and food was just out of this world. I am very very particular about spices and where they have been used and how they have been used. This place is awesome. They know the spices. Try their Lamb Fry. So good. I will repeat them multiple time. Just awesome and thier customer srevice is reaslly good too. I had ordered muliple dishes and just cant believe that everyone was so good.
I wanted to share my feedback on the recent dining experience. The Vijayawada Chicken Biryani was excellent—the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. For starters, we tried the Apollo fried fish, which was also very good. One suggestion would be to have someone available to take orders instead of relying solely on the screen. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the heavy use of technology sometimes felt a bit impersonal—almost like “order at your own risk.” 😜 Overall, the food and service were great, and I appreciate the effort put into making the experience enjoyable.
The staff here were very polite and helpful, giving great suggestions for my dietary restriction. The food was absolutely phenomenal! If you are in Folsom and enjoy Indian food, this is a place you need to visit. I will be coming again next time I’m in the area
We live in northern Sacramento region and is 30 mins away from the place & specifically we came to this restaurant after our first experience. We have been to this Restaurant 2nd time now. The food is amazing and delicious. Effective communication and customer service by the staff. Clean environment. This is on our top list now and will look forward to many more visits moving forward. Thank you for serving such an authentic taste food.

The absolute BEST Indian food I have ever eaten from a restaurant. Blows India Oven out of the water. Incredibly authentic flavor that reminds you where most of the world’s spices came from.

My second time eating the food from this restaurant. First time, it was take out and second time we dined in with my family. Service - Honestly, they were slow. The front cashier (guy) was very slow. On the TV screen, it showed the name and the wait time for each take out order. From that, I could assess it was popular restaurant. Let’s breakdown the food. In my opinion, biryani’s are okay. All of them seem to have similar flavor although it’s suppose to be distinct. The goat biryani did not taste good. I was a little disappointed. My brother in law complained but the guy didn’t do anything. Rest of the items were delicious. I loved the fish tawa, chicken lollipop, chicken, noodles and few other items. We ordered so much food. Ambiance - it was previously owned by boba place. We could still see the indoor boba sign. Overall, a great restaurant and can’t wait to try other dishes.
Got the butter chicken and Naan. Very good. Lots of other interesting dishes to try.

Catered food from the restaurant.. able to pick up on time.was told to pay in cash. Mint/ cilantro chutney for mixed vegetable pakora was frothy and like rasam..very watery. Pakoras were more like onion than mixed vegetables. Starter paneer dish was almost charred..chicken drum sticks were also a little overdone. Chicken curry was great, but was packed in a single half tray and was not double packed..hence was messy to deal with. Naans were not packed right, hence very soggy.

Today is my third time ordering the food from Chennai Bamboo Garden, The food was good as always . But the wait time is too long. We ordered just few items and waited for 1 hour in the store , I appreciate the young girl letting us know they are busy and she made sure will get our order soon. But there are 10 people waiting outside and everyone has their rush for 31st night so it’s their responsibility to make it fast. Also we can hear the voice from kitchen lady inside saying in tamil foolish people can’t wait for some time. Yes we are foolish people waiting for 1 hr in the store without prior notice saying you will have long wait time. We are happy to wait if you let us know the time before because the food is good, But respect comes first always. U should know to respect the customers first. Chennai Bamboo Garden people lost the respect. It’s sad that they couldn’t do it fast and blaming us as fools for waiting 1 hr. Food: 4/5 Service: 2/5 Management: 1/5

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I paid $22 for this sorry excuse of a dish that looks like it was scooped out of a hospital cafeteria tray. The portion was pathetic, the flavor was practically nonexistent, and the presentation was a total joke. What makes it worse is that this place charges five-star restaurant prices while serving something that wouldn’t even pass at a run-down takeout joint. Every menu item is ridiculously overpriced, as if they think we’re dining at a luxury restaurant instead of being handed bland, overcooked chunks of meat in a plastic container. On top of the terrible food, the woman working at the front desk had a horrible attitude, making the whole experience even more unpleasant. Luckily, one of the other staff members was polite and helpful, but it didn’t make up for the rest. Save your money, your time, and your taste buds — go anywhere else.

Ordered 4 meals 2 orders were the same no one was in the restaurant. Each meal was brought out separately about 10 minutes apart except for the 2 order which were the same. The Butter Chicken didn't taste like Butter Chicken and one order asked for no Onions and garlic but had Onions and Garlic.
Me and my wife both got an upset stomach for 2 days and have just recovered as I make this post. We ordered three items Kothu parota (which was good), chicken lollipop and something like pepper goat. Both the chicken and Mutton were horrible. The taste was fine but both of them were hard to chew and it felt like someone reheated or recooked already cooked food. Our mistake was we still went ahead and ate them because we were hungry and we only ordered three dishes. Bad mistake, should have went back and returned it. When you pay $60 for three items, You expect to have fresh food. I think that's a minimum.
I ordered Hakka noodles, which are supposed to be indo chinese spicy and i even noted it to be spicy. When i came to pick up my order it took more than 30 minutes to be ready, even when they said it would take only 30 minutes. When i got home, and i opened the food package it was white pasta like noodles that was american style that was not even close to Hakka spicy indo chinese noodles. Overall don’t order from the Chennai indo chinese Garden in Folsom.
