The whole roasted crab, and the halibut was delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. Even though there wasn't a children's menu they put together a wonderful steak, veggie, and mashed potato dish for my 18 month grandchild. We were all very happy to have a birthday celebration at this restaurant.
My wife and I lived cities known for food plus we have traveled to many places celebrated for great food. Low Saltwater Grill provided us with a meal that equals any we have had, including Michelin starred restaurants. Based on a prior review I order the Black Cod, it was wonderful. Fresh, local and cooked perfectly. My wife had the scallops and was done correctly. Based on the name and exterior I thought Kw was going to be a bar with a pizza b atmosphere; nope, white tablecloths and full table settings. The wine list features mostly local vintages. Five Stars for sure.
I frequent nice restaurants in the Bay Area and have a pretty good feel for quality for a wide variety of cuisine. If you are visiting Fort Bragg and are on the fence about where to go, go here. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and the oysters were delicious. Can’t recommend enough.
Came here for dinner and everything we ordered tasted great, fresh seafood and quality ingredients. Seafood charcuterie was good as a try a little of everything and then the main dish was fresh fish cooked to perfection, not raw, nor overcooked. Mussels were super tasty! Great and friendly service, parking lot on site.
We stopped here for dinner shortly after arriving in Ft. Bragg. My husband had a delicious, flavorful cioppino brimming with a variety of seafood. I had the black cod which was perfect and the citrus beurre blanc balanced the seasoning on the cod perfectly.
Wonderful flavors across the board. The seared ahi tuna was perfectly prepared and delicious. My wife enjoyed the black cod and we shared a caprese salad.
We are traveling and didn’t expect to have a nice dinner for thanksgiving. We saw that the grill was open and we went in to check it out. Well we were pleasantly surprised at the service, and the food. They changed thanksgiving dinner menu for my wife, she is not a big fan of seafood. She got the chicken which was cooked perfectly. The service was absolutely amazing, very attentive group. If we lived on this coast we would definitely be regular guests. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
We had the pleasure of dining at Kw Saltwater Grill on Friday night, June 20th. Our server, Juan, made our dining experience truly memorable. He recommended an excellent wine and provided top-notch service. But the food, the food was simply incredible! I’ve dined in seafood restaurants from Morro Bay to Eureka, and Kw Saltwater Grill stands tall among them. It’s a very fine establishment that I highly recommend if you’re looking for good food. This is my new go-to restaurant when I visit Fort Bragg!
We went at 730pm with no reservation had 30 min wait very crowded. The Skunk train runs just out side one exterior wall. Despite these possibly negatives it was wonderful!
Best meal we've ever had in Fort Bragg. Every bite was full of flavor. Great service. Quality food. We made reservations but not sure if they were needed.
What an absolutely fantastic culinary experience. Nice little place in town, ample parking, friendly staff, spot-on service. Some of the best dishes I have eaten in a while. From the fresh chilled salad to the crusted skin halibut my taste buds where overjoyed by the experience. It's definitely a go back restaurant when I'm in Fort Bragg.
Such a great experience! I have allergies to gluten and dairy and they had a lot of options. Gluten free freshly baked bread, which is a first since I’ve been gluten free for 8 years. They have a dedicated fryer and our server said the chef/owner is very careful with cross contamination. I felt very safe eating here. I had a salad that was absolutely amazing! One of the best salads I’ve had in my life. I also had the halibut and it was good too. And they had a GF/DF berry sorbet that was sooooo good! It was a nice ambiance too. Great date night place!
Wow this was amazing. Some of the best food I’ve ever had, and I have celiac disease and they had so many options. Their GF bread is so good, and their chef specials were delicious. They have a lemon tart that is amazing. Totally recommend going here if you are in town!
We had a wonderful dinner on the back patio. The staff were welcoming and the food exceeded our expectations. The decoration or interior could be updated, but the environment is warm and the food is the star of the show.
Great place a bit pricey but worth it. I had the cioppino. Light, tasty broth and tons muscles, oysters and prawns. Loved it. Definitely coming back next time i amin these parts.
What a great addition to Fort Bragg!!! Finally, it is a great new upscale restaurant that gets it. The small green and little gem salads were farm to fresh tasting and came with warm fresh bread.. The black cod and halibut were to die for .....melt in your mouth fresh. Nicely prepared and plated. Amanda took great care of us Strawberry Creme Brulee topped off the meal for us. Simply 😊 a delightful lovely evening...highly recommend.. .
First, I’m not one to leave reviews often. It really has to be worth it. Kw Saltwater Grill is definitely worth it. After reading reviews, I went in with high expectations, and I’m not a huge seafood fan, so they already had both those working against them. Haha. Boy did they impress! Holy Toledo! The food was upscale, plated beautifully, and absolutely delicious. I savored every bite until the very end. We had the ricotta salad, fish ceviche, seared ahi, northern halibut, and the Lemon crème brûlé. All were excellent. But there is a secret treasure beyond even all this…. Gluten free friends… YOU MUST GO HERE even if it’s just to try the GF dinner roll!! This delightful dinner roll was brought to me still steaming from the oven and filling the air with the heart warming scent of fresh bread. Those of you who are gluten free know that the delicate, delectable, fluffy dinner roll that we all love and miss is something you can no longer eat, UNTIL NOW!! I think I literally melted into the chair as I opened this baked to perfection roll. Crisp outside, with the melt in your mouth tender bread center. This is my first experience feeling like I ate “bread” again and it was AMAZING!! I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant after eating there tonight, I only hope that they find a location in the near future that matches and reflects the quality of their food. They don’t belong on the railroad tracks.
Fresh, single oysters in a variety of exciting, tasty flavours. Amazing oyster shots! Great tuna, halibut and scallop mains. Ok wine selection. Will definitely be back.
We had a great experience at KW Saltwater Grill! The seafood was excellent, the service was great, the place was clean and cozy! We sat outside in the tent, they had a couple gas fire pits going to keep it warm! For an appitizer we had Tempura Nori Wrapped Ahi Tuna $26 Husband had the Black Cod $40 I had the Whole Dungeness Crab dinner $48 We hadn't heard of this place till we drove by, when I looked up the menu I was excited to try it! We will absolutely be coming back and bringing friends! Thanks for the delicious dinner!
This place is by far the best that we have ever been too when we were at Fort Bragg! The food was really good and they're fresh . The chef and the servers were very nice and so pleasant !
Every thing about our experience was FANTASTIC. We showed up about three minutes to closing time hoping they would seat us but definitely not expecting them to. To our surprise they graciously sat us and the experience was even better from that point. The service was phenomenal and the food was top notch. I ordered a beer and when the waiter came back he had brought me about 3/4 filled glass with what I ordered apologizing that they had run out, but also brought a full glass of another selection for us to share. We shared the special for the night which was a heirloom tomato salad with a balsamic reduction dressing and then moved on to the swordfish served over mashed potatoes topped a wonderfully complimentary sauce and asparagus. Both items were delicious and expertly prepared. We finished off with the lemon tart and a cup of decaf which came to us in our own French press and both did not disappoint. This was our first time here but we will definitely be coming back.
Please have dinner here! Truly one of the best seafood dinners I have ever had, and to have had such a spectacular dining experience in Fort Bragg is rare indeed. Let’s keep this place busy and successful so this restaurant will be here for years to come! Bomb oysters, great wine. We had the local Petrole Sole and Sea Scallops - to die for! Great service and timely course management.
The black cod entree is the best seafood entree I’ve had in CA. Whether we get takeout or eat in, it is consistently delicious. Other favorites are the Crab Louie salad and linguine and clams.

Had a fabulous dinner here. Service was great. I had the rock cod and my wife had the salmon special. Portions and plating were good. Oysters were good. Wine was nice. All in all a very nice meal!
We went to KW Saltwater Grill while visiting Fort Bragg and absolutely loved it! The food was incredible, everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the crab was amazing. I especially loved that they took all the meat out for you, so you could just enjoy it without the mess of cracking shells. The service was excellent too, the staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere was great, and the outdoor seating area was really cute and relaxing. Definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in Fort Bragg and want delicious seafood!
Super friendly staff all the way around. Great meals, will definitely go back. The train passed by twice while at dinner and although you could feel it in the floor, it was entertaining and definitely a conversation starter.

Service a bit slow… food was good, but could have been better. Kids linguini Alfredo had a lot of pepper, which most kids (including ours) wouldn’t prefer. Tomato and peach caprese salad was divine!
Cioppino was great! Bread was okay. Scallops can't say that I am expert , was trying first time and honestly not impressed but maybe I just don't know scallops 🤷 lol 😆 prices on higher end, service was good, atmosphere kinda dark... Overall just can't give more than 4 stars

Six of us went for dinner. They sat us at a table where the sun came through the windows and was blinding us. We asked if they could pull some blinds. There were no blinds. So we asked to be moved to another table. We left our bread and oil and vinegar behind. They never brought us more at the new table which would have been helpful since we waited over 2 hours to be served dinner! We were never told about the shortage of staff in the kitchen until we asked why it was taking so long. Several of us decided to share a plate, due to the price of the entrées. The risotto with scallops was $60! We received five, 5 scallops! They knew we were sharing so they could have given us an even number of scallops! The food was good but really nothing very special about it. It took so long to get our meals that there was no time to have dessert. But the biggest complaint I have is the Skunk train that goes by the restaurant ever 30 minutes. The tracks are less than 5 feet from the building and when the train goes by, all conversation must stop because the noise is so loud. The whole building shakes as the train goes by! The first time this happened it was fun and a interesting quirk. But the train runs every 30 minutes! By the end of our meal I could not wait to get out of that building! This is not a place I would recommend. It is not the only good seafood restaurant in Fort Bragg.
I ordered the charcuterie seafood board. In concept and presentation this is a nice dish. However, the oysters had a distinct fishy taste. I love fresh oysters and they should not taste like this. I reported this to the server, but never heard anything after that. I also found the mussels to have an off flavor. The smoked fish was nice. The tempura ahi was interesting, but the tempura batter fell off as soon as you picked up a piece. I think breading individual pieces would have been a better option. I found the ceviche to be the best dish on the plate. My wife had the cioppino which I didn't try.
Our oyster order was not right, but she did make it right. Then we never got our appetizer. Paid extra for crab on our cioppino and pretty sure I had no crab. The creme brulee was not cooked all the way and runny. Service was horrible. It was at least 30 minutes between each plate. Disappointed because the ratings were so good. Way over priced The Cioppino and oysters were great! Maybe it was an off night.
Neat and clean, servers are friendly. Need to improve the food though. Salads are fresh but need to wash harder to get rid of dirts. Mussels were over cooked, grilled crabs were probably from previously cooked, not super fresh.

We had the cioppino which tasted very muddy. Hardly any tomato flavor at all. We also had black cod and it did not taste very good. The seasonings were off. The broccolini was great The fingerling potatoes were great The bread was great. But the seafood just was not up to par. Very disappointed since the reviews looked like people had enjoyed the food but we had a very disappointed experience.
We had a reservation. Walked in. Greeted by Amanda. Immediately, we felt unwelcome. It was as if we were interrupting her day. She seemed put out that customers would actually come and bother her. We told her we had a reservation, she took us to our table in the covered, outdoor patio. It was nice. We asked what she would recommend. She said she wasn’t into seafood, so couldn’t recommend anything. She left and the server’s helper, Joaquin came by with the bread and water. We asked what he’d recommend. He also said he wasn’t into seafood so he couldn’t recommend anything. Set aside the fact they worked in a seafood restaurant and weren’t into seafood because not everyone has to like everything, it’s curious they didn’t suggest what other customers had found to be good. We ordered the clam and mussel chowder and the seared sea scallops. There were only few tables—my 6 or 7. The orders took what we thought was a long time. Both of us had worked in restaurants before. At no time during the meal did either come by to see how we liked the food—not to offer a refill on our water. By the way, the scallops were a little salty for my taste, but that could be me. The chowder was good. We know the server could be pleasant because she was quite pleasant with the people at the other two tables on the patio. Then again, we didn’t quite fit the “demographic” of Fort Bragg’s population. Who knows why the service was so poor , or why we were made to feel unwelcome, but I definitely would not go back, nor could I recommend it. We had gone to another restaurant the night before and the experience was 180 from at KW. The service and deeps were fantastic. They had a great cippino.
This restaurant needs some help. The indoor area is cute with decent seating. They have a little bar (maybe 4 seats) where you can order beer, wine and port. You can also sit outside but it is far from romantic. The patio is covered all around, which is great for keeping the heat inside during the cold Mendocino evenings. The view from the patio is of a mechanic's garage, parking and a busy street. This is forgivable if all else was great. The food was phenomenal. Absolutely the best food we had on our entire trip. We had a mix of a dozen oysters. They were shucked well. There were many fish options and some land animal options too. My husband had the filet mignon and he said it was ridiculously delicious. I had the black cod and it was beyond amazing. Perfectly cooked, great accompaniments, delicious. I could eat it every night. The service and the timeliness was extremely problematic. It took about 40 minutes to get the mix of oysters. We wondered if they were out catching them since it took so long. When they arrived, we were never told which types were being served. We ordered our entrees when our drinks came (long before the oysters arrived) and they took more than an hour AFTER our oysters arrived. Our server never gave us updates on the status of our meals until we asked and he seemed like he was completely disinterested in serving any of this tables. He seemed to be walking in slow motion. Even though the food was world class, we will never come back.

The service was good but the food wasn't. To start, the glasses of water were room temp. The Caprese salad was nothing more than wedge cuts of tomato on a full sized dinner plate. The Scallops were decent but the rice was not risotto and was overseasoned. The Raw tuna appetizer was tasteless. The Halibut dish didn't meet expectations of a good seafood restaurant. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. We won't be back.
My husband and I visited for New Years Eve for our anniversary dinner. The preselected menu was WAY OVERPRICED for the quality of the food and the customer service was lousy. The rice was soggy and tasteless, the creme brulee left a artificial sweetener after taste in my mouth, my husband had ro wrestle with the lamb chop to get any meat. The water person acted like he was afraid to serve us water, no greeting; instead of asking us if we would like more bread, he asked us if we were done with our bread so he could remove the bread basket...this was before our dinner arrived. For $90 a person, one would assume the bread and water would be flowing. The cook knew we were VERY DISAPPOINTED with our meal, and she suggested a 10% discount. Under the circumstances, I would have extended a 50% discount considering our dissatisfaction.. possibly, I would have considered a second chance. Walking into the restaurant, the elegance had me fooled for both the food quality and low customer service.
