Pizza Stop is a highly-rated, casual pizza spot in Fort Lauderdale known for its New Haven-style pizza. Customers rave about the crispy, charred crust, flavorful sauce, and fresh ingredients. The friendly service and reasonable prices also contribute to its popularity.
Tip: It's a low-key, outdoor spot. Be prepared for potential heat. Consider ordering from the window and grabbing a drink at the bar across the street while you wait.

Awesome quick, simple little spot for New Haven style pizza. Place was not crowded and served us very fast. Flavor, toppings, crust were all excellent. Highly recommended fun little neighborhood spot
Lived in New Haven for years. New Haven style and easily the best pie I have eaten in south florida. Really delicious. Thin, tasty, Great ingredients. Also very reasonably priced. A gem in Fort Lauderdale. Will be returning regularly. People complaining about the char need to understand that the charred crust is part of New Haven style.
Easy ordering system. Cute bar across the street while you wait for your pie. Crust is perfectly charred and crispy. Sauce is hearty with a touch of some spice. Meatballs are unreal. This is a hidden neighborhood gem.
Pizza is LEGIT at-least the cheese. All we got. Comparable to NY/CT … honestly better than alot of spots up there too. 5 minutes from downtown FTL but feels like you’re in a quiet town small neighborhood.
Seriously good piece of pie. Cool little outdoor spot with covered seating and super friendly service.
The pizza comes out fresh. Not heavy on the breading great amount of cheese. The sauce is great and mushrooms. The meat ball sub awesome. Meat balls are huge.
Just wow! Loved the flavor and the place! Everything was super clean and the service was great! We felt welcomed. Very reasonable prices! The pepperoni 🍕 is by far my favorite one!! So so good! 💯% recommended!
How a simple place can be so simple and good at the same time. There is only a window for placing orders and seat at few tables around and you will have a EXCELENT pizza. The place is open outside and sometimes is very hot, but you MUST try.
Fantastic pie and holds true to New Haven culture. Thanks for bringing a slice of home to south Florida!
Really good Pizza, incredible hospitality. Super nice and friendly.
My wife and I were visiting from NY and we realized this place was half a mile from where we were staying so we decided to try it. I'd have to say I was pleasantly surprised. As far as new haven style pizza goes this is the best I've had outside CT for sure. We went with half cheese half meatball. The sauce was very flavorful and it had that nice charred (not burnt) undercarriage. The garlic bread was also delicious! I also loved the walk up window/outdoor dining setup. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Definitely a great pizza here. Comparable to my Regina’s in Boston. Anchovy pizza is excellent here. Greet sauce , cheese, and crunch crust. My go place now for the price. Frank Pepe who?
Gem of a place tucked in a residential area. The pizza is fantastic with salty/savory cheese and sweet tasting sauce, you can’t go wrong with any of the toppings. The sandwiches are very filling and the garlic bread is unique. Courteous staff and very quick to order. Highly recommend.
Terrific pie! I was wondering what New Haven style "apizza" was like. It's great - like New York style, but coal-fired. Each slice was still beautifully foldable and floppy. Quality ingredients went into the making of this pizza.
Best Pizza in Fort Lauderdale for sure!!! No other pizza place in the area can compete. Fresh and always consistent. Love this place. Owners are so friendly. If your looking for Good Pizza…this is the place
Been here multiple times now and I highly recommend it. The pizza is fantastic (New Haven style), the meatballs are amazing and the owners are really nice! Not to mention the prices are extremely reasonable. All outdoor seating in a cool neighborhood.
Great Great Pizza! Interesting spot for a pizza place too! In a neighborhood next to a park. This will be my go to spot for a delicious new haven pizza in Fort lauderdale
Best pizza I've had by far since I've moved here from NY!! And the garlic bread is awesome a must try! I'm glad I got lost and found this place by accident... lol. Nice cool low-key neighborhood as well. A hidden gem for real!
Pizza is the Bomb. New Haven style goodness. Try their tomato pie or cheese, out of this world. Tucked away inside a family friendly neighborhood and next to a very groovy beer bar, Riverside Market. Cheers!
Best Pizza in South Florida I have tried all of the best Pizza places in Ft Lauderdale and this place is the best. While they don’t have delivery it is very convenient to pick up from here. They have a pick up window right off the road so you don’t even need to go inside.
Husband and I are both from the northeast and couldn’t find a good pizza spot in all of SoFL. Then we found this place - SOO good. May even be better than pizza spots in the NE. Our favorite is the Margherita.
I’m from New York, looking for a good slice of Pizza in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I’m so glad I found this New Haven style pizza shop… my daughter was chanting “Pizza! Pizza!” and she only does that when the slice is deliciously good! Friendly staff! Dave Portnoy needs to visit!
Never had better pizza. The veggie special was over the top and the only place I know of that cooks it properly. I'm in tears that I was advised that Grub Hub had high jacked their restaurant. I got delivery like 4 times in 2 weeks so I'm grateful for that experience.
Best pizza around town owner is the nicest man cute little spot but by far the food and pizza are the best in fortlauderdale !!!!!
Pizza is amazing. Best pizza around town. We got a large veggie delight pizza with hot cherry peppers! Really Really good. Great service and they have this cute outdoor garden sitting. Love it...
Small neighborhood pizza spot that does a great job of doing simple food right!!! Owner operated, you can't find a better place to grab a slice or whole pie anywhere in ft Lauderdale.
Own 3 pizza spots in Tampa and from NY, this is definitely New Haven through and through... killer char, great sauce, no flop, devoured in 5 min. Nice job guys!
New Haven/woodfire style and doesn't disappoint. Do yourself a favor and, if you're picking up, grab a slice before you get in the car.. It's at its best when it's piping hot out of the oven!! 🍕😁
Best pizza in town. Also amazing for reheating in a cast iron skillet the next day. The owners are so nice and I love having them in the neighborhood. I highly suggest it to everyone.
Hidden gem! Real-deal New Haven style apizza (ah-beetz) tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood. It is obvious that the owner/pizzaiolo cares about his food from the quality of the products he uses and produces! If not familiar with 'apizza' don't be afraid of it being a little well done, the crust will be one of the most amazing you've ever tasted.
This is the best pizza in Fort Lauderdale. If you know "New Haven style" then you'll feel like you're home. If you are new to the style, prepare yourself for heaven. Wade & Reese are also amazing people (owners) who make it simple. One add: the eggplant parm is a prayer answered.
Love this place, I don’t wanna say for certain but easily a top 5 pizza spot in FT Lauderdale. My buddy Cody knows the owner he eats here so much. Traditional NY style pizza. Good ingredients, better pizza but this is not Papa Johns.
Best pizza I’ve had in South Florida since moving here 8 years ago. Reminded me of what pizza actually tastes like. Reminiscent of NY pizza. We ordered a large cheese pie, didn’t get the slices. From the first bite, you could tell everything was natural, fresh ingredients. Crust was crispy and slightly chewy, like it should be. You can taste the garlic and spices in the sauce. High quality mozzarella. Also, had the meatballs which were great. Three meatballs with a hint of spiciness and a dollop of ricotta in marinara sauce. They use actual beef for the meatballs, not 90% breadcrumb with meat flavoring like most other Italian restaurants. And the prices were extremely reasonable. Large pie was $15. Meatballs were $4.50. This is definitely a place Dave Portnoy needs to review. I give it an 8.4. So Dave, get your Mack Weldon’s on and get over to the Pizza Spot for a review. (P.S. to the Pizza Spot - This is the guy who tried to open your gate, my apologies once again)
This pizza place is in my neighborhood and it is definitely a hidden gem. Some of the best pizza I've had in South Florida. These guys are from up North and you can definitely tell when you get a slice! I order from them once or twice a week
Date of visit 12/8/23. Simply delicious. A small neighborhood spot with a cozy patio and walk up service. Very fair pricing. A 12" Apizza with mozzarella is $10. I believe the 3 generous sized meatballs were $5.50-6 along with the Caesar salad too. Where else with tax can you get all of this for $23? If you are not familiar with New Haven style Apizza, ask for less char. Love this place and hope to try their sandwiches one day.
While visiting Florida, i was craving Pizza and being i am from CT where there are so many great places to chose from, i was hesitant to order from anywhere as I heard Florida wasn't known for having good pizza. A friend recommended this place and it was great! New Haven style, wood oven pizza with that perfect slight char. Yummy!!! I would have added a picture but we devoured it too fast! Delicious, highly recommend !!
Had this place on my list for a while. Love the hometown feel of the place in a nice quiet neighborhood. Finally got the chance to go in and I'm very satisfied with the flavors of this pizza. After the first visit I made several with plans to make more. Great local place for New Haven style pizza. The only downfall I can think of is I now have to split my time with my other favorite pizza place. Different style, but choices are always good
Being originally from SW CT, I’ve unsuccessfully searched south FL over the years for pizza that tastes like home. This place absolutely nailed it. Amazing new haven style perfectly charred bottom. Perfect all around, sauce crust everything. Honestly could be the best pizza I’ve ever had. Even back up in NYC area. I literally will not go to another pizza place besides here from now on. Yet to try the sandwiches, but I hear they’re equally as good. Going back for 2 days in a row tonight.
Best pizza in South Florida. Better than Mister 01 in my opinion. Authentic New Haven Apizza. Extra crispy well done crust. Immensely flavorful pizza with no flop. Had a side of delicious meatballs as an appetizer. Both the pizza and meatballs are fabulous. Cutest atmosphere. Order at the window. The friendly staff brings your food to your outdoor table on a covered patio with a nice cool breeze. Great prices. Made the drive from Miami and it was well worth the trip. We will be back.
I’m from New Jersey and the pizza in Florida isn’t very good. But this place is amazing! Dough taste just like from up north and the cheese is spot on!
What a pleasant surprise to find one of the best pizza restaurants in our neighborhood that I have ever experienced. I’ve traveled extensively in Europe and Italy and this is as traditional as it gets. An excellent wood fired pizza. Having visited this establishment for over 30 years as Bozo’s, I am very happy to see the new owners delivering and serving a quality product. I can only urge everyone in the neighborhood and this side of town, to give this a try. You will not be disappointed.
One of the best little secret spots! In an old Florida neighborhood, next to a park & a craft beer joint. The food is delicious, the service is even better. Everyone there is very accommodating & always smiling. If you have ever been to New Haven, CT you will be especially pleased because the pizza & the meatballs bring you there! Nough said!
The ambiance and adorable riverside neighborhood made pulling up to The Pizza Spot even better! My phone order was promptly ready and still hot when I got home. I was hesitant to order hot peppers on my pizza, but now that I did there’s no going back! The place is charming, friendly staff, and amazing food. Can’t wait to try more from here.
We decided to try the subs and pizza as we were staying with a friend in Fort Lauderdale that recommended this restaurant. Fantastic food! We are Canadians and I've had lots of subs. By far the best meatball and sausage subs going! If your in the area try out the patio and enjoy great food.
Just ordered from “the pizza spot”and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. Had half pepperoni and mushroom. The quality of the mushrooms was above average, unlike the canned version that most places serve. Since they are a New Haven based business, looking forward to clam pizza on the menu soon. Would put it top of the list for Fort Lauderdale pizza spots.
This is by far the best New Haven style pizza you can get in the Tri County area , makes Frank Pepe’s new place in Plantation look like a red headed step child. Everyone should have this amazing Pizza!! Way to go Pizza spot I will continue to drive 20 miles for your pizza . It’s the best I’ve had in the last 27 years living here .
I really love pizza...and this place makes the best i have had since i can't remember when!! I love riding my bike across the funky old swing bridge and rolling up to the window and placing my order. I love the pepperoni with hot cherry peppers! Its so worth the effort to come here...although luckily i live a mile away so my big thing is to earn it!...its like addictive...so i set a goal...and then reward myself with this pizza. Feel so lucky! Headed there now😊
I’ve read all these great reviews on Nextdoor app about this new place so Thursday night I had to give it a try. The place has plenty of clean outdoor seating I walked up to the order window where I was promptly greeted I asked a few questions about the menu and decided to order a large Veggie Delight and add pepperoni to go. I enjoyed my Presidente beer while waiting on my pie. It was ready before I finished my beer! All of the toppings were very fresh and flavorful. The crust was cooked to a perfect crispy and firm enough to pick up the slice without all the toppings falling off! Just how we like it😁. My wife and I have tried about 8-10 different pizza joints since moving to the area and this place is #1 in our pizza rankings!! Great prompt service and delicious pizza 🍕!
I am from NY and have been to New Haven to try their pizza too. This is the BEST pizza I have tried in FL hands down. Crust is crispy and light, sauce is perfect. Whether you are in Fort Lauderdale or in the Miami/West Palm area this is the place to try!!!! The service and ambience is really nice too. Family friendly neighborhood with view of Downtown Fort Lauderdale to match!!!
I'm from New Haven and the pizza is New Haven style. Thin crispy yet chewy crust real fresh sauce, pepperoni and cheese. I could do jumping jacks afterward cause you're not bloated. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service and good prices.
This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was crispy with a slight burn. Perfection. We had the margarita pizza, garlic bread, and meatballs.
As a former brooklyn resident, its hard finding good pizza out here. Theres very few places i like. Tried this spot for the first time today (12/27/23).. delicious. No doubt my new favorite pizza spot.
Small pizza place in the neighborhood. I felt like getting pizza at a different place after working a market and went here. I ordered a large cheese and a large pepperoni and mushroom with a very nice person that I spoke to on the phone. Nice outdoor eating area. The pizza was good good dough tasted great good sauce you can taste it a little bit of garlic and if you like spice the pepperoni and mushroom definitely are a little bit spicy but they're great. The taste of the sauce the taste of the cheese and all the ingredients were first class. Will probably come back again even though I live 15 miles away.
Ridiculously good. If you like coal fired, no flop, slightly spicy and full of flavor you gotta visit!
Best Pizza in Fort Lauderdale hands down. Super chill spot with outdoor seating smack dab in the Sail Boat Bend neighborhood. Highly recommend trying them out. May close early so call before heading over.
I usually don’t write reviews but feel it necessary in this case. $3.50 for a slice of pizza in 2025 is unheard of. Especially when this is the BEST PIZZA IN FT LAUDERDALE. Sitting in a really cool location in a classic neighborhood, outdoor seating, window service, craft beers, great staff and owner. My now go to spot. I’ll say it again- BEST PIZZA IN FT LAUDERDALE!!
Great taste and quality without breaking the bank. The owner is incredibly caring and clearly takes pride in what he offers.
i’m from NY , recently moved from Jerz . i been on a quest for good , NY-style pizza . been here for 3 years & finally found the spot ! crazy thing is , it’s less than 5 mins from me & i never knew about it . even been taking my children to the park nearby . all i can say is .. i am so glad to know about them now . PERFECT 🤩
This Pizza Spot is in a beautiful community with 2 convenient stores next to it. It's small and has covered outdoor seating. I ordered my pizza from this gorgeous staff member, that was very nice, and she explained their menu selections. After ordering, I went next door to a convenient (not convenience) store where they had more beer selections than anything else. And even a living room to drink it in! Lol I went back to the Pizza Spot and sat at an outside table on a beautiful night only to wait for one of the best pepperoni and sausage pizzas in the area!!! My only regret is not going to the other store across from the PS to see what they have. Lol There will be a next time to take it all in again. Just behave when you go there as it is a family area and a great place to go chill and get away from the party scene. Thank you for having me!
The Food is always excellent and consistent, I recommend the Vegetarian Pizza. We appreciate the thin crust and courteous friendly staff and service. I recommend The Pizza Spot to our neighbors and others!
Omg where do I start. This place was absolutely amazing, a couple guys and I went on a dudes trip for a week. The pizza spot was just a few streets over. We got a pizza every single morning because of how amazing it was! The service was so awesome and they always left us with a huge smile! If you are in Lauderdale and want the best piece of pie for the most affordable price, head right to THE PIZZA SPOT. Don’t think twice!!
One of the best pizzas I have had. Perfect ratio of sauce and crust and cheese. The red cherry peppers 🌶 was a hit as well as the mushroom one! Classic cheese is the best. I visit this place everytime I can when visiting Miami.
Visiting from out of town for a few days and stumbled upon this place. Tucked out of the way and very low key but had the best pizza I’ve had in years, and I have eaten a lot of pies.New Haven style with outstanding flavor and terrific char. Very reasonably priced for a 16” pie. Will stop by every time I am in town.
Pizza, delicious pizza great service cozy place felt like I was in Key West owned by family owned in Fort Lauderdale must visit for the best pizza in town. Highly recommended owners from Connecticut runs it with his wife. You’ll have the best pizza.

I was looking for a pizza place when I was in Ft Lauderdale and read the reviews for the Pizza Sot. Basically a pizza shack with only outside seating . You order from a window and pick up from another window. They make New Haven style wood fired pizza. I got a slice of cheese and pepperoni pizza. Both very good. Definitely recommend the Pizza Spot which is kinda hidden, thank goodness for GPS.
Ever since I went to New Haven and had the original "a-beets", I'm a convert. Will go anywhere to try and find something even close to Sally's or Pepe's. Pizza spot does a good job, wood not coal fired...but the char is there. The sauce is among the best I've had outside CT and how can you complain about the ambiance in SFla during the winter...I'm eating pizza in January with flip flops on! Recommended.... and for the authentic experience get the sauce pie...your life will never be the same. If you found this review helpful, please like 👍🏻 it. Thx!
Been there several times, I enjoy the food and the service. The neighborhood is ok but lacks lighting, it can be a bit off putting. The pepperoni slices are very salty. I prefer the regular cheese slices. The price is definitely a plus. This style of pizza is called New Haven. I'm not sure if it is coal or wood oven to be honest but the crust has a nice charred to it. Will definitely come again and recommend it.

Solid 4 stars, nothing more. We drove an hour for this slice, based on rave reviews. Flavor was there but it wasn’t crispy. Maybe whole pies are better, but our daytime slice was just ok.
Love the outdoor walk-up order and takeout window and ample seating. A fantastic new spot to grab beer and a slice with friends, safely distanced. A great asset for the neighborhood. Very fresh toppings and friendly service.
What a gem! Thin crust pizza heaven with fresh ingredients. Traditional oven makes such a tasty pie. Owners are friendly. Wishing them every success as our neighborhood pizza spot
I believe they could offer better than just cheese and pepperoni only for the slice. I understand that is a relatively small business but their options are pretty limited for dine in. The pizza was ok I'll say but it kinda gave me a "frozen" typa vibe... like it wasn't very fresh. It was a good pizza and I'll try it again if I don't have another option. For a neighborhood business I believe they are doing pretty good.
One of my favorites. I'd recommend getting a full pie as they usually taste a bit better than slices. 4/5 for me as it's the best I have ever had but 100% a good try. The staff is super friendly also never any issues and reasonably priced. The canolis are good also but I have yet to try any other items.
Heard so many good things! Unfortunately wasn’t impressed… Soggy pizza, stocks still on the basil…and really was surprised with all the single use plastic even though I dined in. Lovely staff though. I’d only give them another chance if they changed the plastics for sustainable/compostable products to be honest. Ft Lauderdale is drowning in enough plastic garbage already - it’s all through the waterways - businesses oughta set a better example.
Cool pizza shack. Can't say it's my personal favorite style because of the burnt crust. The outdoor picnic area is good. Too many flies when we were there, which is irritating chasing them from landing on the slice
I was told to go due to the good pizza but honestly it was just mostly burnt, the garlic bread was interesting and liked it more

Just drove from West Pines with very high hopes. Ordered two apizzas. The first one was the veggie delight, the other was cherry peppers and anchovies. Both pies were tasty, but I found them very hard to eat. Pizzas were not cut all the way through so we had to tear the slices apart, then the topping slid off the slices. Very messy and soggy crust. Was looking forward to this place after reading all the positive reviews, to me it was just meh….
I had really bad experience with the pizza quality of Pizza spot, I am not sure if it’s the overall quality for everyone or just mine. The location is hard to find, drive, narrow one way road around the park. Hard to drive in the night. I ordered bbq chichen pizza, when I picked the pizza, it was cold but I was in a hurry and hungry so I just picked and came to my place (5 mins drive). When I opened it, It was completely burned and bitter, very bad experience. I ate some parts as I was hungry and threw all remaining. See the photos below. I am completely unsatisfied..

Miserable owner. Ordered a pizza which had so much pepper it was inedible. Upon bringing the issue to the owner he said this is the way they do it in Connecticut. Hello, we are in Florida and I don't care how you did, it's how the customer likes it. I'm allergic to pepper and he would not make me another Pizza much less refund me for it. Again, a miserable and selfish ndividual.
Definitely was expecting better pizza. Service was not good. My pizza was wet and soggy. They said it was because I ordered fresh mozzarella. I ordered a margarita pizza and have never gotten soggy wet pizza from that. The guy making the pizza, I’m assuming he was the owner was a complete jerk about it too. He kept saying it was because of the mozzarella. Had him make me a regular pepperoni pizza and it was ok. I’m giving them a 1 star bc of his poor customer service.
At first, I didn't agree with the negative reviews about customer service because I've been here plenty times and have had great experiences, but my most recent experience is the reason I will no longer be a customer. I called and placed an order over the phone with the owner(lady) , and she even repeated the order back to me. Once I picked up the pizza, drove off, and checked it.. I realized it was the wrong toppings. When I took it back and told her the toppings were wrong, she told me "thats what they ordered." In my mind, I'm wondering who is "they", because I personally called in the order. I legit felt like she wasn't going to fix the issue until the other owner(man), stepped in. He even offered for me to keep the pizza (which I didn't want, which is why I brought it back). Plus she snatched it back before I could even consider keeping it. Maybe they should look into hiring someone to take the orders or having a online portal, because they clearly rush sometimes. But paying customers shouldn't have to be interrogated when an error is made by the establishment.
A shame the man (I think the owner) at the service window is so miserable and rude because the pizza is decent. The first encounter with him resulted in an aggressive outburst of shouting after simply asking for a cup of water saying we had to pay for a bottle instead of just kindly saying no or they don’t serve water. Bad days are real and I wanted to give it another go and avoid him but each time I’m met with rudeness that he goes out of his way to deliver. He got our order wrong the 2nd time and god forbid you tell him there’s a mistake. The 3rd time is the tipping point and I’ll never return, he charged us double for 1 pizza after I went over the order asking if possible to replace artichokes with tomatoes on one of their pizzas. This man deserves 0 support. If you hate what you do so much then retire.
