Crab medallions appetizer, Lobster bisque soup and the Mahi, all were excellent. Highly recommended!

My sister and I had a wonderful lunch. We were going to split the buffalo shrimp salad and split a sandwich. Our server let us know how big the portions are and offered to order the salad first. The salad was absolutely great and huge. The attached photo is a picture of half the salad. The shrimp were large and crispy. The buffalo sauce just hot enough and the dressing delicious. We will definitely go back.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Mason Jar. The ambiance was welcoming. Our servers were friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the white beans & kale soup and onion soup as well as sharing the fries green tomatoes. The fries that came with our lobster roll sandwiches and crab cake sandwich were so yummy. We shared delicious key lime pie for dessert.

An excellent dinner. I had the house burger, delicious and rare as I like it, with a sweet potato mash and mac and cheese as sides. On another occasion I tried the tuna salad, and they graciously replaced the salad and tomatoes with baby spinach. I will go back.

*GREAT VALUE - AMAZING FOOD - AWESOME STAFF* This place is in the middle of a cute shopping center. We ordered the meatloaf and chicken pot pie and holy moly were the portions LARGE! You literally get a whole chicken pot pie and what looks like half a loaf of meatloaf. WOW! The food came out hot and fresh and tasted delicious. The menu has various options to choose from and 2 sides come with a entree and they are also large. What a 💎GEM, i'm glad we stumbled upon The Mason Jar Cafe.

Tucktaway in this quaint shopping area, The Mason Jar offers a lunch and dinner menu. I had the vegetarian salad which was full of greens, onion, tomato, roasted beets, and grilled vegetables. The portion size was not too big and not too small… Just perfect. The staff were personable and went out of their way to make you feel at home.

Stumbled upon what I now consider a new hidden gem. Service was excellent and food was delicious. I enjoyed the short ribs sandwich and shoestring truffle fries. I was wowed by my meal and that rarely happens to me. Will be back asap to try more off the menu!

Had a great experience here at the Mason jar. It's like eating in a good friends house with home cooking! The service was great, and the food, well was one of the best meals I've had in a while. Home cooking at its best. Soup was amazing, fried green tomatoes excellent, and the meatloaf special was huge portion, and absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back.

My family and I were able to secure a reservation for a Saturday night and there was still a wait, but it was well worth it! The service was friendly and attentive, the food was all fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned! I loved the meat loaf and the fried chicken, both were tender and juicy with a delicious gravy on top that just made everything that much better! The restaurant is small and busy, which is to be expected for how tasty everything is, so always call for a reservation on the weekends, but definitely give it a try, you won’t regret it!

A charming venue with excellent food. The service was top notch, the mushroom soup was the best I have ever had and the atmosphere was like a visit to a hotel lounge from 100 years ago. Great experience in every way! I can't wait to go again!

Our server, Bobbie, was pleasant and efficient. I had the largest porkchop I'd ever seen with mashed potatoes and cornbread. Everything was delicious. We arrived about a half an hour before they closed without a reservation. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I'm going to have the chicken pot pie next time.

Really nice quiet place with nice music, if you want a nice romantic quiet evening this is a must. You can actually hear what your date/spouse is saying. Food is really good, you have to try the chicken pot pie. I had the roast duck in an apricot glaze, real good, could've been cooked a few more minutes to get a good crunch from the skin and could've used a little more glaze but overall it was really good. Definitely returning.

This is no fancy restaurant but a place to take you back home. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in moms home with her cooking a meal for the family. Great food, larger portions than most places. Friendly staff. Ate here on a Friday no reservation (which is strongly needed unless you don't mind sitting at the bar.) The bar isn't made to really be are at though specially for long leg people but was hungry and didn't want to wait. The desserts looked so good but had no room for them. A 10 out of a 10 for a nice home-cooked meal ! Make reservation on weekends and get there early as meals do sell out they were sold out of half the menu by 9 pm Friday night. They do take out as well!

I just can't wait to come back! My friend and I both cleaned our plates! l had the Chicken Waldorf Salad, and my friend, had the Salmon Salad!! 👌🏼 Debbie, and the whole staff were welcoming and friendly. The prices were all very reasonable too! As we were leaving, I could help gaze at everyone else's table, as they all looked so good too! What a wonderful little niche to enjoy some fine food and shopping! I would highly recommend giving The Mason Jar Café a try! Thanks for the great suggestion, Marge! 🙏🏼

I should not review this great cozy restaurant with outstanding service and let it stay a locals favorite!! Homemade flavor with a modern twist... Everything here is done fantastic. The service provided by Lily and Sammy was friendly and perfect. Great Chicken Pot Pie one of there signature favorites. The short ribs are out of this world. Some tips are watch what there hours are as they are short and remember they are closed on Sundays. Don't mind the wait if you have a long one as the food is just that delicious!

The food was fresh, ample, and delicious. Superb service. We were able to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch without being rushed. I had the short rib sandwich. There was plenty of meat and onions on the bread. You didn't need to go searching for the filling. It's very tasty, too. I'm looking forward to trying the onion soup next trip.

Great place all around! The service is fantastic, the food is AMAZING. Everyone in there is so sweet, you can tell they really love what they do. So happy I found them, this is my go-to lunch spot. 1000/10 would recommend! P.S if you like Mac n cheese you NEED to try theirs. You won’t be disappointed!

This spot has that cozy, down-home Florida charm with some seriously amazing food. My wife and I went with their famous Chicken Pot Pie and the Mason Jar Meatloaf, both were absolutely delicious! You can really taste the love in every bite. We wrapped it up with the Walnut Crusted Apple Pie, and wow, it hit the sweet spot perfectly. If you’re looking for comfort food in a relaxed setting, this place is a must.

Great food for great prices! Had dinner tonight and definitely will return. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was good it does have fresh lump crabmeat on it as well. I had the boneless fried chicken and gravy with mac and cheese and julienne vegetables. Very good! My friend tried the rainbow trout special with cheesy mashed potatoes and spoon corn bread she loved it! They do charge a surcharge for credit cards as well.

This past Thursday I hosted a large gathering of 39 people for dinner at The Mason Jar. I have to admit I was a bit concerned with so many people in such a small space but it worked wonderfully. The staff did a superior job of serving and the food was beyond description. Every dish was prepared exquisitely and the flavors were beyond expectation. Not one complaint from the picky eaters in this group. Thank you for a wonderful evening and food that was so delicious. We will return soon.

We usually visit for lunch and it's always great. Staff is very attentive and friendly. A lot of healthy choices and delicious desserts if you feel like cheating a bit! Chicken sandwich is amazing and so is their apple pie a la mode! Liquor is offered which is always good. We try to go at least twice every time come down.

For this very cute and quaint cafe, let me tell you that the food is extraordinary here! The variety of their gourmet menu is perfectly crafted offering something for everyone. My boyfriend had the burger and I had the chicken Caesar. We also both had split pea. All 10/10!

We love this place. We go here often and always bring out of town guest here when they come into town. But....last night the place was packed, and I see some guys having dinner with their dog with them this was no service dog, and it wasn't wearing anything to identify it as one. It was in a stroller. Dogs have no place in restaurants where others are eating.

Blessed with thousands of wonderfully diverse restaurants in our tri-county region, and most of them have infused multi-ethnic items on their menus, the Jar (Mason Jar Café) is probably one the very few restaurants that provides an almost entire menu of good ol’ Americana comfort food. Mind you that all these foods that are now considered Americana were ingrained in our American culture by our forefathers who settled here from other continents when they homesteaded the lands hundreds of years past and we made them our own. The appeal of the Jar [Café] is non-pretentious, projecting a simple décor that is borrowed from a meld of old downtown diners and old European cafés, even the top veneered layer of the laminate-wood floor is scraped off from the back-and-forth pulling of the tables’ wooden chairs and from the most friendly and cheerful lady servers (somehow, most servers at the Jar have been there since get-go. That’s a testimonial that they must all be happy to work there) . And all that is the ole quaint charm of the Jar. I’ve been going there since they opened back in the early 2000 in the building right behind the location they are in now. Though they have a couple of new daily chef specials, they retained the same original down-home comfort food menu over the years—and that is why I keep going there again and again because, to me, their food seem to taste better and better each time I go. For lunch they offer delicious soups, sandwiches, and my favorite lunch item is a colorful Waldorf-salad salad. Dinner offers a variety of starters like French Onion Soup that laughs at Cordon Blue chefs, fried pickles or fried green tomatoes for appetizers to the sound of a rapid fiddle, the best chicken pot pie ever served in a restaurant, crisp country fried chicken to make you exclaim “Hot damn!”, meatloaf to die for, a double bone-in thick cut pork chop topped with a cherry sauce that will make you hate any other cooked-style pork chops, slow cooked beef short ribs that are so tender and slip right off the bone when you fork into it, and an array of other regalicious (I made this word) comfort delights. They are open for lunch and dinner - beer and wine only – reservations preferred. About a couple of years ago, they opened a Mason Jar Pub at 1388 E. Oakland Park BL, Ft Laud. The menu and atmosphere have an entirely different vibe, but the food is very good. Personally, I don’t care for the atmosphere because they call it a “pub” but it definitely does not have a beer-pub hangout feel. They are also open for lunch and dinner, beer and wine, and no reservations necessary.

Nice little café with a comprehensive menu. Went for lunch and ordered the mushroom soup, meatloaf sandwich with fries and a grilled cheese with Brussel sprouts. The mushroom soup was very good. The Mason Jar Cafe is our go to place for good home style cooking. We have never had a bad anything. The service staff is excellent and caring even when the place is packed. The atmosphere is comfortable and homey -- nothing fancy just easy comfort. The staff is always welcoming. Food was good and so were the prices. The service was rushed, we barely saw our waitress and the few times we did she wasn’t the most pleasant person to speak to. Mind you this was on a Thursday at 1PM… If they know they’re going to have a lunch rush then plan accordingly.

I gave this place 5 stars a few years ago. Here I am 4 years later, and every year it gets worse. The pistachio Brussel sprouts were tasteless. They were overcooked and barely any pistachio or butter seasoning. The grilled cheese was just bread and barely anything else. Very little cheese and again, tasteless. The salad was not as fresh as I expected. The overall experience was so bad. The last time I came, I had a similar experience, so I decided to reduce my 5 star to 3 stars... Stop cutting corners, and get a new people in the kitchen (or bring the old ones back). This is what happens when you try to expand, and it is no longer that quaint restaurant with great food and atmosphere... Too bad.

They add a surcharge for credit cards. They were not very busy but did not have enough staff so it took a long time to get our meals. I had a chicken pot pie with asparagus & brussel sprouts. My wife had meat loaf with Julian vegetables & mashed potatoes. Each of our entries were $21.00 each.

Mixed review- the old country feel is great. Small cozy cool. Service was ok, our waitress was in hyper mode so it made our dinner feel rushed. No desert or coffee offered just a check not even asked for? Food was good. We had burger, meatloaf, soup, potpie. Everything was ok not great but portions were large and prices reasonable. I think they cater to an older crowd so it was a little bland to be honest. Love the thin fries!

I’ve been on a mission to find a good homemade chicken pot pie and a delicious meatloaf, so I decided to give Mason Jar Café a try. We ordered the meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and burger to sample a bit of everything. Unfortunately, the chicken pot pie had a sour taste — I’m hoping it was from some type of cooking wine and not because it was spoiled — but either way, I couldn’t eat it. The meatloaf and burger were decent, but the real highlights were the sides. The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, and I also really enjoyed the crispy shoestring fries. The prices are fair, though there’s an added fee if you pay by card. However, this spot isn’t very kid-friendly — one of the staff members politely asked us to quiet our baby, which made me feel uncomfortable. I ended up packing everything to go and didn’t get to enjoy the meal.

Went for lunch. Ordered straight away but had to wait for a whole hour to be served. Meanwhile customers who came after us were served. Couple next to us were served in ten minutes. We were the only dark skinned couple in the restaurant. We had to ask another waitress why we were not served? That is when she brought out our order. So judge for yourself! We will never patronize The Mason Jar

I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and an order of truffle fries. The ceasar salad was BAD, grey hard boiled egg, soggy red onions, and the chicken was plastered with pepper. When I try to send it back, the waitress asked me what was wrong with it and I told her that the pepper was overwhelming. She told me next time ask for no seasoning. I explained I do not mind seasoning, but it was just drowned pepper and she responded to me that the seasoning is pepper……. Just pepper. Salt and pepper are foundational seasonings, they don’t add any true flavor like garlic, rosemary, & thyme. They were going to take it back and give me completely unseasoned chicken so I declined having it remade. The truffle fries are covered in oil that taste like it once thought of a truffle, then topped with thick slices of Unmelted Parmesan cheese. Overall not a good meal. The server is was not friendly, especially when presented with an issue. She didn’t refill my glass, wouldn’t even come over to take my check, she sent someone else. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, they fundamentally lack flavor and hospitality.
