Always a wonderful experience! Delicious food and unique atmosphere!
Historic well maintained establishment. Large crowd there for a sunny afternoon in the Adirondacks.
I ate here twice before in 2019 and 2015. I was in the area and found they were closed. So sad :-(
they have great food everything evenn the soup is good
30 + years of going and never ever had a forkful of bad food or a bad experience.
This was one of my favorite places to ho with the family for dinner. It has recently closed.😭
Brings me back to my childhood! Still great food.

A wonderful step back in time. A dining experience like no other. My family has dined here for generations. Love it.
Great dining experience, delicious repast for those who like to spend their time in relaxed atmosphere. Also take the time to soak in the historical values here.
Great place, service very good, friendly, food was out of this world, first time there very much enjoyed my visit.. I'll be back...
Absolutely love the food and service at Saltsman's! I request here for Mother's Day and/or my anniversary every year.
Ive always loved that place. Great food and love their atmosphere
A tradition of the best kind. Love this place--my family has even going here for 4 generations.
Love the food and the people. Used to work here as a teen and young adult. :)
An old fashioned country type atmosphere with good quality food. A real nice place.

Good old time food, fried chicken, wonderful lamb chops, good steak, pork, & seafood. All main courses start with coleslaw with sliced tomatoes, choice of starter, and corn fritters. Main course includes creamed spuds,.creamed onions, and seasonal vegetables. Sometimes they even have fiddle-heads. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that they include. I strongly recommend the lamb chops. Service is always prompt, efficient and good. When you arrive you place your order for the main course before you are seated, very retro, but it also gives you time to check out the great old bar.
We love Saltsmans, been coming here since we were kids! But it’s been closed for 2 years now, can anyone tell the public why? Maybe the public can help in some way? Everyone needs a job, and I myself, I have a whole lot of restaurant experience in just about every facet of the industry! I mean if this place has alot of money problems and the place is falling apart, that’s a different story, but I think it could come together, and be put together as a success!
This place is a true hidden gem. The people, the food, the service are all absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the fried chicken. I'm hungry just thinking about it!
Unique old time resteraunt, atmosphere is like walking back in time, food is very good and sides are served family style, everything is homemade including the desserts, Tammy and Jim are great hosts ...if you are in the area from April till October you must stop and try Saltsman's Hotel!
Love the owner's! Miss going in for dinner HOWEVER, curbside pickup was just as good!! It was as if we had inside seating. Remember, to pay, with check or cash.
One of the best kept secrets around here, food is just totally awesome and very very friendly service,my prime rib could not have been cooked better.
Everything was wonderful. Great service beautiful dining room an absolutely marvellous home cooked food. Try the Lamb chop you'lllove them
This is the perfect restaurant and we go there once every summer as a family past time. The food is amazing.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Family style dining. You wont leave hungry!
Our Easter dinner tradition for over 30 years!! Love the food, live the people, love the atmosphere! I always felt more like I was eating at our own dining room table then out at a restaurant ! ( except I wasn’t cooking or serving it!)
This is my favorite restaurant. I have been a happy customer for 16 years. Old fashioned country goodness and ambience. The food is always delicious from start to finish. The owners are wonderful and accomodating. They have created a unique dining experience.
Great local American food, yummy and filling and full of nostalgia. The fried chicken was nice, but the daily special roast turkey even better—and the unique creamed potatoes are addictive! We found this place thru roadfood.com.
Salesman hotel food is very good. It is not chain restaurant fare, but made there. Food is Rich and flavorful. Be prepared to give your order BEFORE you are seated, so look at the menu in the waiting area. Service is good and the people and owners are all very nice.

A must experience
Excellent food.
Strong upstate dinner fare - no one left hungry.
Had Easter Dinner. It was delicious.
We were up for a 75th birthday party and celebration, it was a good time. Its an old building with some character and the decor is always interesting.
The best country cooking around. They have been using the same recipes for over 80 years.
Went for dinner here on Sunday. First time. I have to say that everything was outstanding. You will not go away hungry. The food was delicious. The chicken and rice soup was the best soup I have ever had out. The creamed onions and potatoes were great. I combined my together. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. I would have done 5 stars but being new we shocked about ordering in the waiting area. Sad to here it's seasonal. But will definitely go back in the spring.
Historic restaurant with great food and interesting ambiance. when here with a family of four. Two of us got the prime rib which is served on weekends someone else got the pork chop and the third dish was the fried chicken. all of them were delicious especially the fried chicken and all the sides you get with your meals.

Prime rib king cut was small and tuff
Very cool building. Food is average.
Eh
Last Easter I ordered the deep fried scallops and it was delicious I was so looking forward to having them again this year. I was totally disappointed. They were hard as a rock outside and so over cooked inside they had absolutely no taste at all. Saltzmans is no longer my go to Easter dinner place !!!
We first ate at Saltsman's about six years ago. At that time, the food was excellent. I remember even complimenting the coleslaw. Last year, my wife had the fried chicken which was tough from too much breading and cooked too long. Still we were excited about dining at Saltsman's again last Saturday evening. Parking, as usually, was difficult especially for my wife who is handicapped. We ordered drinks but my wife's margarita did not taste like a margarita. We were seated at a tiny table in the corner although there were plenty of larger tables available and the restaurant was never more than half full. (Within a few minutes a young couple were seated at a table for four right next to us.) The water pitcher, butter and condiments had to be placed on a shelf nearby. Eating was physically difficult and my wife finally knocked over a glass of water at the end of the meal. The first course, coleslaw, was mediocre. The second course, soup, was so hot that we could not eat it before the third course was served. But our main complaint was the prime rib which we ordered medium rare. It was served rare. We asked for both servings to be heated more. They were returned in five minutes, still stone cold. We took one bite and asked for boxes to take the food home. (The next day it took another 8 minutes to grill my wife's queen size prime rib and 10 minutes for my king-size to be cooked to a perfect medium rare inside.) All of this cost us more than $70 before the tip. Recently, others have reported that the quality of the Saltman's has deteriorated so I do not think it is just us. We will not return.

Owner is local town judge.. Very rude to out of town folks .. This place is basically an old folks home. Food takes forever to get served ,& sometimes cold... Much better atmosphere at other spots nearby ..
Very disappointed, horrendous service and it was not the first time. My pork chops were warm while the rest of the food was very hot. We waited almost one hour for our food while other people that came after us were served before us. Shame on them for having bad service.
