Lemon poppyseed pancake: phenomenal. Horchata French toast: delectable. Biscuits and gravy: outstanding. Enjoyed a mellow and balanced hot Americano to go.
This place is my go to for brunch. There’s a wait sometimes but it’s always worth it. The service and food is always great. My usual order is the steak hash which I highly recommend. I’ve also had the lox bagel which was great as well. Their pancakes are also really good. Their coffee and drinks selection are varied and I’ve never had a bad coffee from here.
Theresa is our favorite server. She is kind sweet and is very good at her job. She has recommended so many new and good things. We go back all the time just to see Theresa.
Love Ascension! I have visited both the Fort Worth location and the Dallas one. The breakfast sandwich is a MUST also haven't had a drink I didn't like. 10/10 I highly recommend either location for a business meeting as well. It is casual but classy and it's not "too quiet".
January 13, 2026 Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile by the host and were seated within 3 minutes or so. I've been to this spot a few times with my friend who recommended this spot. She's a regular at this spot. All the time, including the most recent time we dined here was on January 13th at noon. The food has always been scrumptious. Their lavender latte is pretty good and didn't taste like soap or bitter like a lot of places that make it wrong. The chicken flatbread was pretty good and refreshing. 5/5 On January 13th, I had their migas, and it was so fresh and delicious. All the flavors and everything on the plate went well. I usually don't like my savory food mixed with sweet, but their sweet potatoes and sauce were a perfect combination. Mad props to the chef or whoever came up with this dish. I am a fan of this dish for sure. I also ordered their winter flight, which consisted of Sunrise date latte, Pear Thee Well, and Snow-Jicha. They all had their unique flavors were unique. It was a good flight, especially for people who are into matcha or 5 drinks, since hojicha is similar in texture to matcha. My friend had a soup and an iced tea that she really liked. She had stopped by for a coffee drink this morning before we met up for lunch. The atmosphere is always lively with people having conversations etc. This is a great spot to check out because all the times we've dined here their food has been consistently on point. If you have yet to give them a try, I highly recommend you do.
Never had a bad experience here. The biscuits with the raspberry compote are some of the best I’ve ever had. The food is fresh and delicious, and the coffee tastes robust and smooth. Teresa is my favorite waitress! She makes us feel welcome and is always smiling. We love coming here for brunch!
When we moved from Washington state, we said goodbye to our favorite coffee/cafe. But Ascension has become our new family spot. The coffee is incredible (I buy it in bulk and grind it at home) and the food is always seasonal and delicious! Portions are generous. Tons of options that are still well curated. And I’m happy when family visits us because I know a trip to ascension is in the cards for me again 🤣. Love love love this place. The staff is incredible and the coffee baristas are knowledgeable about their product and just about everything else. The only thing to keep in mind is timing. If the yoga studio nearby lets out of a class, expect a rush of yoga people. Weekends are busy but if you go earlier, like 8:30am, there is never a wait.
My server Myles was the best, he made sure I was very well taken care of. I had breakfast while waiting for my husband as he ran along the river and it was perfect. I got the steak hash and it was delicious and smokey. The orchard latte is my favorite too. I didn't even realize my egg was not sunny side up but Myles caught it and without asking had me a new one made and brought to me promptly. Absolutely wonderful experience ❤️
I love coming here! It’s not my first time, but it’s the first time I actually took pictures. Every visit, I’m just digging in because the food is always delicious. The coffee options are great (even for someone who’s not a big coffee drinker like me) and the service is top-notch. Parking isn’t too bad, and you can always find a spot in the garage. When it’s not scorching, the patio is perfect. I’ll definitely be back again and again!
Have eaten here several times. The menu is unique, the food is great and the servers are nice. The best thing about this location is the view on the back porch overlooking the river. Most recently, we had the housemade biscuits with different jams, the Power Brekky (or something like that) and the Cali Burrito.
A cozy little full-service spot nestled next to the Trinity. I dined with my trusty canine on the dog friendly patio. The granola bowl was light and hit the spot. My sweet potato hash with fried egg was the perfect accompaniment. A mimosa, hot flat white (made perfectly!), and an iced lavender latte topped it all off. Everything was served promptly and made perfectly. If you like coffee, brunch, and patios - check this place out! Ask for Schuyler and tell her I sent you! 😁
New hours! Open till 6pm every day! Came here with my family this morning and everything about this place is the best! The food is great. They have the best coffee in Texas! Daniel the manager is super friendly and very knowledgeable about all things coffee. Service was also wonderful. I think my favorite thing about this location though is the relaxing atmosphere. They have a gorgeous patio located right on the Trinity River that makes for such a relaxing meal, coffee, or drinks with friends, as they also have a full bar with craft beers, a good wine selection and specialty drinks. This is for sure our new favorite place! I Totally recommend you try them out!!!
Went with a friend we both loved and enjoyed it a lot the scenery is right on Trinity River so you can see the runners and water while eating outside or you can stay in😀. Food was good as well for a nice brunch if you like that sort of deal and the area has little stores all round it if you wanna walk around and shop. Also we stay on the north side of fort Worth from there it was 10 mins so not far at all😁 It was a good time👍
I have no idea what happened to my previous review of this restaurant. It’s a shame because I had so many photos to prove how wonderful this place is. You can’t get much better when it comes to restaurant location then can say. It’s right off the river, which is perfect for sitting outside on the patio. Their service is hit or miss. I feel like they have their worst waiters servicing the outside, but its not bad enough to not go!. I’ve come here multiple times and every single time the food and drinks are great; unfortunately i only have a few photos from the last visit.
the food was great! loved the chorizo fries. outdoor seating was pretty, but very cramped so you were uncomfortably close to the table next to you. I love the names of their menu items. in a dog friendly area, but I would not bring my dog inside. outdoor seating would be best. the price adds up if you don't pay attention, so depending on what you get, it can be pretty expensive. overall though, it was a good time with good food.
I usually come here once in a while and have had great experiences previously. This time, I had a great waitress, but I believe her shift was over and was replaced with a new one. I had to keep trying to get the new waitress' attention to serve me, which became frustrating when I wanted to order something else, eventually I got tired asking for basic things like ice when you hand me warm water on a hot summer day in Texas, naturally I wanted to leave and check out and had to keep waiving as she walks by. It wasn't as busy as they normally are. I also understand the need to give me my total, but if you're going to give me the device to pay anyway, why shout it out for the entire restaurant? Anywho, it wasn't the worst, but it wasn't great either.
Where to begin, first the waitress in the entrance had a uncalled for Attitude as if she hates her job. Like if you don’t like your job don’t work there! Secondly we got on the waiting list because it was busy, while we were waiting we decided to order a coffee and a meal so that once our table was ready we could eat and not have to wait for our food once our table was ready. I got the Availability text message that the table was ready, we get seated, only to be told we have to take our food to go because it’s not fair for the people waiting to sit at a table ????? So we practically got kicked out because we ordered our meals before we sat down? Makes no sense. What’s the worse part is the coffee we ordered was good but thanks to the employees incompetence and non-stewardship. This visit was our first and our LAST, not coming back to this establishment again! As a business owner, I would definitely consider going through all employees and going undercover to see how their real service is when no higher management is observing. Good Stewardship is missing at this place. And that is the difference between a Great Establishment and an Average one.
I’ve been here four times. Every single time the service is absolutely awful. Once you order, good luck ever seeing your server again. Drink empty? Need something for your meal? Tough luck. The server will come around again 20 minutes after you’ve finished eating. I’ve had the chicken sans which, the breakfast, the muffin, and on my most recent visit, I didn’t eat anything (I was with others) . This place is absolutely awful. Also, the chicken sandwich, gave me the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. Do not recommend.
Do they hire based on who has the worst attitude? Employees act as tho they don’t work in customer service. They have no awareness of time either. I was standing at the register for almost 6 minutes looking here and there at the employees—they either: A, just looked at me and continued what they were doing or B, made even slower movements while making two latte. It was quite pathetic to watch. is it really that awful to take a single order? While I waited 9 minutes for an Americano I saw the food coming out of the “kitchen.” Wow the food looked small and extremely unappetizing. I even saw an avocado toast with brown green avocado on top… how much is their avocado toast again? Does it cost as much as expired avocados? DOUBT. Anyways, the Americano, it was dry and burnt. Almost $5 for a coffee made by inexperienced people who don’t give a single ounce about your experience (taste wise).
Absolutely ridiculous experience. We were quoted a 15–20 minute wait for a table while there were around 15 empty tables sitting open. But the real kicker? Our order was to-go. Somehow it still took 15–20 minutes just to get a bagel and a coffee. After already waiting that long, we were then told the bagel would still be another 10–15 minutes, so we never even received it. How a coffee shop can’t manage a simple bagel and coffee—especially when the place isn’t full—is beyond me. Coffee houses are supposed to be quick and convenient. This was neither. Complete waste of time. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.
