This place is awesome you can’t beat steak night. The staff is great and so are the customers make the trip out it will be worth you’re time.

Blue Bayou is always a favorite! Debra, Lisa and Dawn are amazing and on their A game every time we visit. Saturday night steak night is always delicious, perfectly prepared by Janice and more than affordable. The music was fun with a Blues band which changed things up from the country and rock usually played around the DFW area...an absolutely wonderful band. Live music venue, bartop and restaurant...great location tucked away near Eagle Mountain Lake on Indian Creek. Food is good but service is a bit slow...talented musicians every week! Patio is hugecovered and they have fans to cool ya off if coming in from a ride or drive for a cold one!

If you go to the Blue bayou, don't go there expecting to be in a big hurry to eat and leave. The Blue bayou is a bunch of country folks good folks don't get me wrong that are usually regulars going in there to have a bite to eat and hang out with their friends and neighbors so when you go in go in ready to relax for a while and have something to drink and eat. And be kind because they are just good country folks with country hospitality the food is good you got to try the shrimp and fish basket and some sweet iced tea good stuff enjoy yourselves

This isn't the place to go if you don't like a smokey bar atmosphere. However, if you can get past that you'll love this place. The portions are huge and pierced well. They have a great burger for sure. The bayou bites are a must try!

The best catfish I have ever eaten (and as a southerner I have eaten catfish for over 50 years). Large servings so you won't leave hungry. Very casual, friendly atmosphere and a good waitress. Large screen TV showing the cowboys. We will be back.

Stopped in with a friend and caught a live band that were really good. The waitress was very friendly and kept our drinks coming. It is nice atmosphere. You should give them a try.

I am a little particular about catfish and Blue Bayou delivers every time!!! It's by far the best around. The wait staff does a fine job, the atmosphere is spot on but my only disappointment is I have to go through Newark to get there lol You could snap a chalk line across to the other side of the lake and hit my house come on Tarrant County we need a bridge up here so 22 minutes turns into 5! Plus the live music and cold beverage's are hard to beat!

I had the experience of stripping on the patio for a customers birthday. Nice atmosphere and crowd with some good live music. Im motivated to return to hang out and try the food. Owner was also very nice, accommodating...and cute ;-)

Normal crummy hole in the wall bar with great food and a solid atmosphere from locals. Smoking is allowed indoors, that's really the only negative I have personally. I don't complain about it because it's my choice to be there.

I was instantly greeted by the bartender Lisa and everything she suggested was excellent. I have never seen a harder working waitress/bartender and they served one of the best bacon bleu cheese burgers I have ever had! Thank you Lisa for the three three days of courtesy!

Very laid back place that always has a local/home grown feel. The regular live music adds to the ambiance of it all. Been coming here for as long as I can remember and don’t ever plan on stopping.

It’s a dive bar for sure, but the service is good and the beer is cold. As long as you know that, this place is great! Food is underrated…for a bar, this is good food! I much prefer the patio, though. The smoke is very noticeable inside.

This place is a hidden gem. Drink prices were very reasonable. Bartender was cordial without being overbearing. However, the smoked catfish absolutely made my visit. It was definitely one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. Hope to return soon and try the smoked wings.

Great food and music. We live nearby and go here maybe once every other week. Just about everything on the menu is awesome, and the specials are always interesting (smoked catfish!). Prices are reasonable. I usually drink beer, but my wife always likes the way they make her drinks. Good crowd and ambiance...just like what you'd imagine a Texas bar on the outskirts should be like.

Great bar with live music, cold beer and delicious food! Food specials every night of the week. This is an excellent place to have a beer and a meal after hiking Eagle Mountain Lake Park.

It's kind of a throw back get away place to hang out. Each night has food specialties and various nights of live music where known artists have roots.

We went last night to see or favorite 80s cover band play and Blue Bayou did not disappoint as a venue or as a restaurant. It was SUPER busy but we were well taken care of by various servers. Drinks were great. I had the catfish basket— I am so picky about my friend catfish and theirs was spot on! It does get a little smoky in the covered patio area, not a deal breaker just a note for others who might not like that. Thank you for helping us have a great night out!

Love this little gem! Excellent vibes... Feeling like I stepped back in time when the world was a simpler place. I am not a smoker however they do allow smoking which I didn't minded since I was sitting outside. Food is delicious and the live music tonight is a group called 57 Sauce. They are so talented and sound amazing!! They're playing on the patio which feels like your actually IN the Bayou. I highly recommend this place

Quaint little watering hole! This was our third or fourth visit, early Sunday afternoon timeframe so the place was not busy at all, very quiet and also very dark in the main bar but really great bar staff and friendly atmosphere and their brisket stuffed jalapeno bombers are literally the best around!

Food was great as always. Good club sandwich and cold beer. Dark and dank as you'd expect a dive bar to be. It's surprising to see it from the outside then time and time again everything on the menu rocks. Fried catfish and meatloaf are hard to beat. Be prepared for cigarette smoke.

This is a really laid-back and relaxed place. The staff have owned and run the place for who knows how long. The decor isn't fancy, nor is the food but the atmosphere is so very friendly and relaxed. Cruising through on bikes? Stop by. Bicycles? Same. Just out sightseeing, stop on in for a cold beer or ice tea and watch the world go by, slowly, on the road out front. This is a little gem of a place that welcomes everyone. Don't expect haute cuisine. Go for a burger. They rock. And a cold Shiner. And just chill out for a while and absorb some local flavor of life in the slower country lane.

This is the kind of gritty dive that Hollywood loves to portray. We stopped by for lunch when a ball game was playing. The waitstaff and kitchen staff complained about having to stop watching TV long enough to cook. Stop in, have some beers and burgers. This is the kind of place you go to get grounded and escape the fast paced pseudo-dive-bars that you find grunge-decorated around DFW. This is the real deal. 🍔🍟🥪🍺🏈

Great service, friendly staff! Beer prices were good. Food prices were good. Probably the largest and best BLT sandwich i have ever had! Thick sliced bacon, fresh veggies, wonderful sourdough bread! The only downside to the place was they do allow smoking inside. If you don't like the cig smoke, they do have outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

Delivered an Amazon package here along my route and asked the manager whats good, and she said fish tacos and brisket tacos, brisket is smoked in house. Me personally, I never had brisket tacos, so I thought I would try it out. The food is better than I thought, and the manager was super nice. She made sure my order came out first, as I had a busy day in front of me. I'm not used to a bar/lounge atmosphere, so I don't really know how to rate that. I will say that you have to get past the smell of cigarettes if you want to dine in. Otherwise, I would just be ordering pickup. I would NOT recommend bringing children in the restaurant.

I have been here at least three separate occasions. All the times that I have gone I can tell you they have always had great live entertainment, I can also tell you the food is quite good. So if you're ever in the area I recommend this one for sure.

Fun looking roadhouse was fair warning it is a smoky environment. We will visit some other day without the kids with and revise score accordingly.

This place is mainly a bar that serves food, we sat out side due to its smoking inside. Waitress was nice food was good but over priced some. We could see the cook smoking next to the food. We had some pie as desert which tasked great but was served cold and had an icecube in it. We may still go back.

The live music was great, so were the drinks, the kitchen was closed at 8:00 pm which was pretty disappointing. It was so hot outside I almost left then we moved seats to sit in front of the fan which made me much more comfortable. If the kitchen was open I would of probably have a higher rating.

Don't be fooled by the 3 stars. It's actually a really cool place. I will be going back just probably going to pass on the food. The live music was great! The drinks were good, not great but good. It's a rural lake community dive bar that is actually pretty cool. Perfect place to get some good music, couple beers and some fries. I will be trying their Saturday Night Ribeye special to give them another chance. But the food isn't impressive. All in all the 3 star review doesn't feel right as this place is pretty cool. But food, service , atmosphere are the scoring points so 3 it is. OK 3.5 for atmosphere for the cool factor.

We had the cowboy nachos and house-made onion rings. The nachos tasted great but the presentation is horrible. The toppings are so wet that the chips turned to floppy paper towels almost instantly. This would be better served as a dip with chips on the side. The homemade onion rings were terrible. They were not crispy. Instead they were tough and chewy. Worst onion rings I've ever had. We went there for live music, though, and the band was good. Bullet Creek never disappoints. The patio is nice, the drinks are not too expensive, and the service is pretty good.

The ribs were a little dry but bone came right off. I like when it's that tender. Husband got the chicken fried steak and he like his meal. My grandsons got burgers and they to liked them.. over all had a good experience but the only thing was the amount of flies they were overwhelming... husband and the boys loved the darts and pool tables.. the music was good .. Will come back but not our first choice...

Burger was good. Wine out of a box. Ambiance was that of a run down night club. Hard to breathe because of the smoke of just two people. But what was I thinking..... Is a lake dive.

Chris started out with a fun personality and the venue both welcoming, friendly, and fun. A dive bar, yet the positive environment and relationships made it pleasant. Somehow or along the way, Ownership lost its appreciation toward loyal, honest, respectful, and considerate customers or relationships. Now the owners are un-appreciative toward quality customers. We even put up with the smoke filled, non air conditioned environment to meet with friends and have fun. The bar lost its path and treats many folks as if they are detached from the revenue stream. We enjoy going, minus the many flaws, for friends. It is now another whole in the wall dive bar whom ownership views customers as expendable and of little respect. It had good potential for exponential growth in many facets and new faces. Now, it is the epitome of, just another smoke filled bar with one person's opinion forced on others.

Came here the day before thanksgiving for a few beers since I always see this place on my way home. Came in and felt cozy, Britany instantly ruined this experience. Rude from the moment we sat in her area. Turn on the propane tank for a little warmth and it went out within 20min. When we asked for it to be switch by the bartender it was no problem, my boyfriend even went to go get it… but Britany came to shut it down said said it was “too late”, it was 10:38pm…The table next too us also shared with us their unpleasantness with her. Anyways, not going back unfortunately for a while although it seemed ok otherwise.

Been here several times but this was the worst. Food was good. Love the crispy hand battered O rings but word to the wise, sit outside. Inside is like an old smoky honky tonk bar. Bathroom needed cleaning and our outdoor table had not been cleaned. Waitress seemed like she was speed-balling and staff was seen smoking in kitchen. Ugh. I would rate one star for the facility and atmosphere but food is actually good. Great location for grub pub but unfortunately this ain't it!

We aren't from the area and decided to try this place. We walked in and not a single person greeted us or cracked a smile, but they all just stared. Seems if you aren't a regular then they dont really care about you. We ended up just walking out after a few minutes. Very unwelcoming and unfriendly

Our waitress was outstanding but the kitchen was terrible. We put in two orders received one and not the other then the 1 we did receive was wrong both times it came out. So, we all were starving and just ate. The oyher order was never eaten so we took home. Would not recommend this place for other than luke warm beers

I had a party of 5, everyone was over 21 except for 1 person. I understand places have rules but we literally walked in, went to a table, and the lady started yelling across the bar very rudely. It was kind of embarassing calling out our whole group and making everyone stare. I also don't understand why there was a little girl in there if everyone had to be 21. I think in the future she shouldn't yell, greet her guests, and approach us privately if she had an issue. Response to Owner: The place is listed as American Restaraunt, we drove 30 minutes out of the way to try something other than a chain restaraunt. Even if it had a bar we assumed it was like chilis. We weren't even there to drink just eat. When we walked in nobody spoke to us until your bartender yelled when we sat down. Why do y'all allow young children in the building but not a 19 year old with several adults?

The owners dog roams the parking lot and snapped at my service dog the both times I went there. Then the owner became verbally abusive when I complained resulting in me having to file a police report. I won't be back 😟 Kind of sad ... 20+ years owning a waterfront home 🏡 on EML

After waiting 15 minutes to even be acknowledged, we were informed they were busy. They asked us to be patient. For 30 minutes, the staff did everything in their power not to look at us. There were 5 tables occupied on the patio including us. The food is good. I mean we didn’t get served this time. Should have order to go. They were knocking those out. I’m sure those customers were more important. The service is down right awful. When the waitress finally decided she could speak to us, she walk around and absolutely did not listen. In fact, she cut us off. We will not be going back. 1 hour out of our life we can’t get back.

We had the worse food ever . I ordered the steak special and when I finally got my dinner the steak was all fat . I flagged down the waitress and informed her and she said she would take it off but never offered anything else .. wow. Then my husband paid 50.00 for a small amount of crawfish which was a total rip off. We will be taking our Saturday rides elsewhere with friends .

Not worth the wait and money. Expected so much from this place because of the high rating and the time you spent expecting the food to be delicious is delusional. Turns out this place is just literally overrated. I should have believed the 1 star ratings instead. Will not return ever.

You have a better chance of getting your order correct at McDonald's. 5 out of the last 6 times I have been there they have got my order wrong. If you send it back they will ju take off what you don't want and smother it in mustard then send it back out to you. I highly recommend you anywhere else.

My husband and I went to this place on a Friday to listen to a friend play in a live band. While the band was excellent, that was the only good thing about the night. We had a hard time finding two seats together on the patio, but we finally got a place to sit. After several minutes of waiting for a server my husband just went to the bar to order two drinks. Another 45 minutes went by and we still never had a server acknowledge us. Some ladies were taking care of people near us, but they never bothered to check on us. Finally, a server brought food to the table right in front of us and I flagged her down. I mentioned that no one had come around in over 45 minutes. She took our drink order, then said she would let the servers working the patio know that we were being ignored. She was very nice and apologetic. After another 30 minutes of literally zero service, we decided to leave. I went inside to leave my complaint with the manager and ran into the same young lady who waited on us outside. I told her why we were leaving. She was apologetic again and went out to the patio to comp our drinks with the bartender. While I do appreciate that young lady being kind and trying to make things right, I won't be back to Blue Bayou.

I was down from out of state visiting my brother who lives across the street from blue bayou. He's always talking about how great they are so I wanted to try it out! I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, french fries & soft drink. Honestly I could've gotten a better tasting sandwich & fries from jack in the box @ a heck of a better price! I pd. 17.00 that sandwich & fries that tasted like fish & the chicken had been freezer burnt all around the end & edges. I'm thinking the oil that the fries was cooked in May need changed out? Everybody has an off day right? All & all the atmosphere & service was great! The food was just very disappointing. I'm hoping to try it again, just not sure I want to spend that much money on a sandwich again.

Avoid at all costs worst food ever went there to get chicken wings and was told there was no chicken so we got the nachos and fries, never in my life have I been served nachos with no cheese now we paid $30 for two nachos and fries for my son and one lemonade for the price I expected to have some cheese but worst of all there was chunks of wood with blue paint in both plates of nachos the drink tasted like old water and tobacco smoke chips where stale and soggy waited over 20 minutes for this terrible unsafe to eat food. Wood in the food is choking hazard hurt my teeth when a found the first bit chewing the nachos fries were salty and tasted like they where cooked in old oil... I have worked in kitchens for many years I have no idea how you can let things get this bad to have that much contamination the wood looked like it had been cooked in the chili as it was soaked threw with the chili juice.

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Their food and drink tasted like tobacco smoke. I don't understand why this place is even called a restaurant when the food listed in their menu are unavailable so we ended up just getting fries and nachos; the lady said that's the only what they have. And guess what, the nachos has a chunk of painted wood in it! And you know that it was cooked wood because it was soaked it looked like it camouflaged like meat but it was pure wood with paint in it. $30 for awful food!!! Their food is obviously drunk people food, they can stand how salty and nasty it is. Such a waste of money and time.
