Saltgrass Steak House in Fort Worth is generally well-regarded for its generous portions, delicious food, and attentive service, especially from servers like Andrew, Derek, Grace and Makayla. The chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes are highly praised. Some diners have experienced inconsistent steak preparation and slow service during busy periods.

If you want an attentive and hard-working server, go see Emma. She easily made our day fun and easy. Never had to ask for anything and checked on us regularly. She helped us with setting up our membership and even had her boss swing buy to help as well.
Great food, reasonable prices. Fast service. They don't rush you, but looking to turn their tables. Try the fried peppers and pickles.
This has been, by far, our favorite place to eat in Fort Worth. The service and atmosphere are by far the best. The food is also exceptional. My favorites include the rib eye steak, the vaquero tacos, the brisket queso, the brussel sprouts (which almost taste like a desert) , and the deep-fried mushrooms. Ask for James if you want top-tier treatment.
My husband and I come to dinner frequently here. Tonight our server, Makayla, was the best server we have ever had!
I love the whole vibe. It spans each and every location. Happy hour is my "thing"
Jessica at the bar took care of us, and the service she and her team provided in every way, was top tier. From friendliness, to suggestions/recommendations, couldn’t have had a better 1st impression and experience at this restaurant. Will be back!
Kim was our server and she was awesome! Very attentive, shared stories with us, and just genuinely a pleasant person. 10/10 highly recommend!
Fort Worth Texas is the beef capital of the world. So many places to enjoy a steak. Saltgrass is a mid-priced option. Steaks, chicken, seafood and chicken fried steak choices. Several toppings for your steak. Baked sweet potatoes or fries are options as well. Worth every penny for our items ordered. Open Christmas and new years day.
I can not speak highly enough of the wonderful experience at this location. Although it was an extremely busy Saturday night, I was greeted pleasantly upon arrival, seated in much less time than anticipated, and my waitress was phenomenal. She was attentive, friendly, and efficient. I don't believe I have ever received such friendly and timely service during the peak hours at any restaurant.
It has been a long time since I have visited a Saltgrass Steak House. I will say that the last time I had Saltgrass it was delicious! However, this visit to Saltgrass left me a little bit underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong the food was delicious. However, it just wasn't as delicious as I was anticipating. The steak was cooked to perfection and the complementary bread was delicious and warm. The appetizers of fried pickles and peppers was a bit salty for my taste, but tar ranch dressing helped with that. For the price, I was expecting more. All of what I said will not keep me away from visiting a Saltgrass Steak House again, In the end it was very good.
Went in for dinner on Monday night and I just want to say our server Dustin took very good care of us. I loved how he offered suggestions at each point from beginning to end but most importantly he made us feel relaxed and welcomed we will be back for sure.
The steak was cooked amazing and the crab Oscar was stellar as always... the manager John was very helpful as well. Love it at this location
I will come back! The steak was cooked perfectly. Fresh bread was so good. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye medium rare w sweet potato, Brussel sprouts and chicken tortilla soup. All were so very good and I had to take some home. My daughter had the same with Cesar salad and she said it was the best she ever had. I highly recommend! Server was just a good as the food! It came out quick too!
First time eating here. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet with grilled shrimp. Our waiter was super nice and friendly and willing to help us out in finding a gluten friendly meal for my wife and a sweet drink the same. My steak was grilled to a medium rare and fell apart in my mouth. The food was excellent. The sweet potato fries were a little stringy in size but the flavor was good. The only down size was the place was packed and we had to wait a while even though we had set a reservation time. The kids also ordered chicken fried steak and fried onions.
This restaurant is owned by the Landry's Co. They make their own 🍞, sauces, 🍲 and butter 🧈. I was amazed how fresh and in expensive the food was. I should have known when the place was packed night after night. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott right down the street for 5 days. You will not be disappointed, come hungry.
Makayla was absolutely amazing! Great service and an excellent attitude! Very understanding to my wife's an I humor! Keep it up, Makayla! - the Asian lady and her goofy husband! (Next time more lemon!)
This is consistently excellent dining, restaurant by restaurant. Their steaks are well above the average for a large chain. From salads to salmon, everything that’s not a steak is still excellent. Skilled bartenders and a decent wine list fill out the experience.
Went for lunch with the fam. Had the 10oz ribeye which was cooked perfectly although it was a tad too salty. The tenderloin app and the wedge salad are wonderful. Great food and good deal for lunch! 2nd visit was better...shared a 12oz ribeye and Brussels sprouts with the missus. It was soo good.
This place is hotter than a cast iron skillet on a Texas summer day. I ordered the Bone-in Ribeye with Sweet Potato Fries and let me tell you, it was like biting into a juicy piece of heaven. I could practically hear the cow mooing in approval. And those sweet potato fries, oh mama, they were like a sweet and savory dance in my mouth. But don't sleep on the Wagon Boss Top Sirloin, because it was like a flavor explosion in my taste buds. And let's not forget about Pat's Ribeye, that bad boy was cooked to perfection and I could practically taste the cowboy lifestyle with every bite. The atmosphere at Saltgrass is like stepping into a saloon straight out of a western movie. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and they know how to treat a customer like a VIP. Overall, Saltgrass Steak House is a must-visit for any meat lover out there. Just be prepared to leave feeling like a satisfied cowboy, and with a full belly to boot.
Kim was our amazing waitress she has the best customer service anyone can ever experience and the food was great too. We will be back soon and I will be requesting Kim
Just WOW. Very organized team working here! Came in for a weekday lunch and was greeted by host and shown to a cozy booth. Our server introduced himself by name, Andrew, and was so professional and confident that I wondered if this was for real. But it was. Through his guidance my sister and I were able to enjoy a long, leisurely lunch and never ran out of iced tea. We also never had to strain our neck and wonder where he was or where the food was. Everything was brought out in a timely manner. One surprise for me was that when I ordered green beans, I was expecting a little melamine dish of canned green beans, swimming in oil and being grayish green. No! I received fresh, long, not cut up green beans with just a dash of salt and pepper. They were cooked crispy-tender and still had their vitamins in them. I could tell because they were a rich, lively green. No gray, and these beans had never even seen the inside, much less the outside of a can. So! Good chicken fried steak, plenty of gravy. Loved the fried pickles and jalapenos as an appetizer, too. Sadly, no room for dessert this time, but wow, did we enjoy lingering. Oh, and the manager came by each table to check on things. I thought that was a nice touch. Can't wait to return, especially when we can again enjoy the weekday lunch menu prices and portions that are just right!
Will was our waiter today. He started off great and was very attentive. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and the different types of steaks. He was patient with us as we ordered. The food tasted great and we enjoyed every bite. We ordered a drink along with appetizer and meal. We did have some left overs. The timing from ordering till we got our check was just right. Did have to get the attention of the waiter only one time that he got distracted with something else. But the over all experience was good. The overall price was little above average for the overall experience. I would definitely return again. Great for a date night or something special.
This was my first time trying Saltgrass and it was so good! We got the artichoke dip (yum) & ribeye steak. Miriam was our server - would recommend asking for her for a good experience. She’s friendly and attentive. Thank you!
I eat here often and you just can't have a better ribeye steak. I get mine cooked medium rare and it's delicious. The fried mushrooms and range rattlers are delightful. The service is impeccable especially if you are lucky enough to get Tana as your server.
Saltgrass Steak House consistently delivers exceptional steaks. Their medium ribeye was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The accompanying sides of Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese were equally delicious. The restaurant’s Taxes-style atmosphere and sports bar create a welcoming and lively environment. Whether you’re dining in or enjoying the bar, here is a great choice for a satisfying meal.
We had dinner here at Cityview Saltgrass. Our server was Grace. What a wonderful person she is! We had great food and she made the experience so much better!! Will definitely be back and will ask for her🤩🤩🤩
Deon was a great server! Many people check on quality of food and service including the manager. Food was great! We were seated quickly, food came at an appropriate pace, and had great service overall.
Comforting atmosphere, really brings in the Texas vibe while delivering on quality steak for a good price. Service was very attentive and accommodating for my son who wasn’t feeling well. Steaks were cooked to the right temp, with great flavor and quality sides. For the price, I’ll take Saltgrass over Longhorn or Outback.
We celebrated my Grandmother’s 84th birthday today and Kim was PERFECT!!! Thank you for making her day fantastic with top tier service and food!! 🤩
We had a great time eating dinner here. We had an amazing server named Darrius who made our experience fantastic. All the food we had was amazing. The ribeye had amazing flavor and so did the baby back ribs. The potato soup was delicious and went well with the bread and butter. If you’re looking for a good drink the Texas teas we so good, we had to order a few extra rounds. We definitely look forward to returning next time we’re in Texas.
Love this place!!! Very consistent - delicious steaks for great prices! Today we came in for lunch and had the center cut top sirloin and the chicken Laredo- both delicious and cooked to perfection. Started with their delicious beer bread and whipped butter and had a Caesar salad before the plates came out - both good as always! Service is always good and prompt, I also don’t think I have ever been here without a manager stopping by to see how the food came out - which I greatly appreciate. My favorite menu is their early dining menu which is served Monday thru Friday 4-6pm - the filet is a steal!!!! Never make it to dessert because I am so full at the end of my meal, but I hear the cheesecake is amazing!!! Great food at great prices and consistently good service!!!
We love Saltgrass, this visit was for my mother's 84th birthday. Food was fabulous as usual with plenty to take home. The cherry on top was our waitress, Kim, she made this experience special and we so appreciate her! Thanks Kim!
Celiac(gluten disease) and this specific restaurant is PHENOMENAL when it comes to safety and customer service. McKalya and Brandon made sure I was taken care of and eating safe, checking every aspect of the meal. The food was delicious and the service was incredible, this was a wonderful dining experience.
It is our Anniversary and we chose Saltfrass for lunch. From the moment we were seated the enjoyment began. I was extremely impressed with the fact that our server was educated on each product on the menu from the drinks to the salad to the entrée! The food was extraordinary. Thank you Kimberly for your superior customer service!!!!! We appreciate you May God bless the fruit of your hands.
Had my first date on Valentine’s Day at Saltgrass Steak House in Fort Worth and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We even got front row parking — on Valentine’s Day of all days — which felt like a good sign for the day ahead. The atmosphere was warm and romantic, the food was amazing, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was our server, Jessica (Jess). On one of the busiest days of the year, she was beyond what words could express. Even with a packed restaurant and the Valentine’s rush, she remained attentive without hovering, kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Her timing was perfect, her recommendations were thoughtful, and she made us feel like we were her only table. We never felt rushed, and that meant everything on such a special night. It’s rare to come across service that truly enhances a meaningful moment, but Jess did exactly that. She didn’t just serve us — she helped make our first Valentine’s Day date unforgettable. Five stars all around. If you go, ask for Jess — you won’t regret it. We will definitely be back! ❤️✨
Our server was Mikayla and a manager on site was Brandon. 200/10 experience. They took celiac gluten free seriously and guided us through what we can order and were well versed on cross contamination and proper preparation. They double triple checked without us having to ask about it. Kind, prompt, attentive, and the food was amazing. For this being our 1st saltgrass experience I was blown away. Thank you Makayla and Brandon the rest of the staff that night. On top of that they were a pretty packed house and still so accommodating.
Although it was a very busy night the hostess were very communicative with us. Our server Makayla did a great job not making us feel rushed, giving us time to enjoy each meal. She truly made it worth the wait. The food was delicious as always.
I LOVE CHICKENS FRIED STEAK!! And SaltGrass makes the best!! They also make the best garlic mash potatoes!! You can’t go wrong!! Our server was super nice and we were seated right away!! Always a pleasure to eat at SaltGrass!! ❤️❤️❤️
We reserved a room for 18 people to celebrate a graduation. They took care of us in every way and things went perfectly. The food was good the waiter were cordial and prompt with our food and refills of drink. I would use them again and definitely recommend them.
We were a party of 18! EVERY last order was correct. Every person in our party was happy with his food. We shared appetizers. We shared desserts. Everything was delicious! We highly recommend this location. Server was great. friendly and attentive.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Amazing Steakhouse Experience We had such a great experience at this steakhouse! Miriam, our server, was super knowledgeable about the menu, gave us great options, and her customer service was on point the whole night. The food was amazing and full of flavor. The queso appetizer was incredible — creamy, tasty, and the perfect start to our meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly, juicy and tender, and the sides were delicious (that sweet potato was everything!). Overall, great service, great food, and great atmosphere. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to! -Vega Approved ✔️🫰🏼
Love coming here. Seated quickly polite server and food outstanding. Great bar vibe and staff. Lots of sitting areas including outdoor dining patio. Salmon was wonderful warm bread soft and freshly made. Husband had steak and shrimp all wonderfully grilled
We enjoyed our visit to Saltgrass very much! The food was delicious, and there was a lot of it! Portion sizes are very generous. Andrew was our waiter and he was top-notch. Our tea glass was always full, he was very attentive and quickly took care of any requests we had, and was very personable and friendly. We had a most pleasant dining experience!
Saltgrass Steak House offers a classic steakhouse experience with a focus on high-quality steaks, cooked to perfection. The menu features a variety of cuts, including ribeyes, sirloins, and filet mignons, each prepared with care and attention to detail. Alongside the steaks, you'll find hearty sides and delicious appetizers that complement the main dishes. The cozy yet upscale atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a special dinner, and the attentive service adds to the overall experience. Whether you're a steak enthusiast or simply looking for a reliable place to enjoy a hearty meal, Saltgrass Steak House delivers a satisfying dining experience.
Never eaten here before. Bar service was pretty darn good. Food was good as well. That chocolate cake is the ish! A lot more cake than I thought it would be. Had enough left over for later. So, between a spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, salad and bread (great bread and butter) salmon with garlic mash and mac n cheese (the mac n cheese is fantastic, wish the portion was bigger) and dessert it came up to $40.
I visited for the first time and ordered the salmon and mac and cheese and broccoli. The mac and cheese was very cheesy and smokey and delicious. The broccoli was firm and crispy with just the right amount of steaming. The salmon was flaky and the seasoning was superb. The only issue I had was the visual appeal and the temperature of the food. They served me this huge plate with this tiny piece of salmon and broccoli. Please see the picture. The food was lukewarm to cool but I didn't complain or send it back. The fried mushrooms were delicious along with the spinach dip. Yarlenis, our server, was the absolute best!
The food was good, and the service was great, Tana was on top of it, we had a guest 10 and she was on it....the only thing I was up set about and I nor my family didn't know was if you put your tip on the receipt than the waiter have to split the tip with the house of waiters instead of you main waiter getting the tip, so pay your tip to the waiter that serve you directly otherwise 👍🏾 A+
Server was sweet, but it took forever to even take our order. I understand people may be busy.. but it doesn't hurt to maybe tell us "hey sorry for the wait" or something. The food was pretty darn good when we did get it.. the cheese fries are bomb! I had the chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes, mom had fried shrimp and taters, and the granddaughter had her very own pizza. The cake is carrot cake, which was good, but could've done without the raisins lol
We were in from out of town on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was extremely busy. Our server, Kimberly, was amazing! She was very attentive, and we never felt rushed, regardless of how busy she was. The food was very good, and timely. I would recommend dining here. Ask for Kimberly. Your experience will be better for it.
Excited to finally try the Saltgrass while on an extended stay in Texas to see what all the hype is about. Ambiance is great--love the authentic western themed nod to ranchers, cattle drives, cowboys and prairies. I ordered a t-bone, a pretty standard steak. The loin side was tiny and thin and the strip side was incredibly grisly. The bone was not even the standard "t" it was in multiple pieces. I spent most of my time cutting away the parts that were inedible. The flavor was incredible, I just wish the meat was a better cut. Service was great!
The food was AMAZING! I'm only giving 3 stars because the service wasn't the best from our waitress who was training someone on the Tuesday evening we visited. She got multiple things wrong on our order as well as the happy hour that I saw on their online menu, wasn't given to us because we didn't sit at the bar.
We went to saltgrass for dinner and we're looking forward to a wonderful meal but I was rather disappointed. For our appetizers we ordered the Rattlers because I had had them at another location previously. It seems like they skimped on the shrimp because the last time I had this appetizer every bite had a mouthful of shrimp whereas this one had loads of cheese and very little shrimp. For my meal,I ordered the redfish with lemon butter sauce topped with shrimp and crawfish. It looked delectable but when I bit into it, the blandest thing I've eaten out at a restaurant in a very, very, very long time. Chain restaurants are supposed to have quality control and taste identical from location to location but that is not what happened in our experience. My husband's steak was a good size but was not seasoned either. If one goes to restaurant and spends nearly a $100 you would expect the food to be exemplary but this location of saltgrass was a disappointment!
Service was... Eh... I mean, we got our food. Didn't let my fiance know about an upcharge on a suggestion, (a wedge salad is a $5 add on, not a huge deal, but still, if it's offered alongside the other items, it should be addressed) the ribs we the definition of "meh", and her Salmon Oscar was not something that any cook in a restaurant should be proud to send out. Honestly, the only decent thing was the brisket queso that we had for our appetizer. Atmosphere was fine, busy and buzzing, but our server seemed more occupied with dropping plates loudly on our table and shoving things out of the way, rather than picking them up and placing them where they should go. Never pressed anything, so the dishes kept growing on our table. Then dropped the check and didn't even thank us. 2 stars.
I didn’t take any photos of my food for this visit. We made a reservation for 5 ppl at 530pm and other parties that came after us got seated first. This didn’t bother me too much until I realized the hostess was not professionally friendly. She was curt. Like it is what it is and we will let you know when a table is ready. I asked when we will be seated just one time. No reason for the attitude. I didn’t dish one either. She’s lucky. We finally get seated and the server is nice. She gives us great attention and professionally friendly service. She did however forget a couple of things. I asked for my croutons on the side. (I don’t like croutons but I share it with whoever on the table that likes extra) they never came. She refilled our drinks one time. I ordered the brisket burger and didn’t realize it wasn’t all brisket. My food was salty and my sweet potato fries were over cooked and hard to the point of being crunchy. The restaurant has a very nice Texas atmosphere. That I loved.
Ate at the bar and ordered tenderloin tips and Brussels sprouts. The tenderloin tips were overcooked and tasted like charcoal and were very disappointing. The server wasn't super busy but didn't bother to check on my meal until I was done eating practically. I asked for salt and pepper and the server who brought the food, brought pepper only. So I may give it another try, perhaps with a traditional steak meal next time but it wont be my first choice.
Ordered 2 steak dinners, Great Salad , Good Baked potato, steaks were not made as ordered. Wife was able to eat hers. Mine was very undercooked. I was offered a new steak. As we are from out of town, we were pressed for time to get back on the road and did not have time for a reordered plate as it took well over an hour for the first one to come out. We stated this to the waitress and we still had to wait 25 minutes for the bill. Overall not an unpleasant experience but yet a little disappointing.
ordered the pork chops, which came with two sides. The Caesar salad was delicious—fresh and full of flavor! The onion rings, however, weren’t quite what I expected. Instead of the usual rings, they were shredded onions and a bit too oily for my taste. I’d probably choose a different side next time.
It was my birthday December 17 Overall it was ok ! Server NOT SO GOOD !! I HAD TO ASK SEVERAL TIMES FOR HER AND A FEW TO ANOTHER SERVER ABOUT DRINKING! MANAGER NEVER CAME TO ASK IF WE WE OK OR TO APOLOGIZE!
Truffle fries were warm and disappointing. Only got 2 pieces of shrimp, warm also. The red fish had flavor but was warm too.
Last night 1.2.26 was a very disappointing experience. My husband and I came for dinner and our server accidentally spilled a glass of soda all over the table and in my lap. My pants and the floor under our table were soaked. I am a pretty easy going person, so I wasn't per se mad at the server, accidents happen. But instead of offering to change our table, or providing any apology they just haphazardly wiped the table, sweeped the icecubes, and continued on like nothing happened. We were pretty much ignored the rest of the night. My jeans were dripping soda as we were leaving, but nobody even acknowledged their mistake. Don't get me wrong - we didn't expect free food, or any preferential treatment, but for a manager to not even come to our table to check in and make sure everyone was okay... My birthday dinner was definitely ruined, and so was the rest of our night.
It’s been over 10 years visiting this place for a celebration , to be honest I don’t know what happened today , missing drinks , Sam ( not even our waitress so rude ) porter house and bone in ribeye under cooked , We asked for medium well and it was disappointing , salads were forgotten, food served without being ordered , so sad after a excellent day with my family , thanks for 3rd class steaks and service
The waitress we had was very nice. We both ordered the Pat ribeye. My girlfriend ordered medium. I ordered medium rare. Her steak came out very rare. Mine came out blue and cold. The waitress took them back. They came back seared on the ends where we originally cut into them and still very under done. So we just asked for a check and boxes. Our dogs got to enjoy a nice $190 meal when we got home.
So far, the service has been pretty bad. I ordered the Wagon Boss steak with a side of fries and had a choice of soup or salad. I never got my soup. The waiter never asked me if everything was okay, and I shouldn’t have to remind someone how to do their job—that’s what writing down the order is for. I shouldn't have to speak up to tell them I didn't receive my full order; the fact that I had to is a problem for me. The food was great! But the service definitely could have been better. I understand it’s Valentine’s Day, but that isn't an excuse for poor service.
The waitress was very good and very nice but the food was not. We had a party. We had a party if 10. 9 adults and 1 child. Me and my man came after they been there for almost an hour. The did accommodate us by adding a table and 2 chairs. Our food was cold. Which a few sent back and asked to warm up. My stake was supposed to be well done but wasn't,sent it back. We ended up cancelling the stuffed mushroom because we ended up getting our food. The asparagus was cold. They food are too expensive to be coming out cold. The waitress we took care and left her with real good tips. Please do better
Was told there would be a 30-40 minute wait. About an hour passed by, went to check and see how much longer. They couldn’t give me an ETA. 3 hours later, still no text stating my table was ready. I guess I wasn’t important enough for them to seat me and my girlfriend. Wound up going to Longhorn Steakhouse instead. No wait and better customer service. Will not ever return to this location. Shame on you
Let me say this. We all are feeling tough times these days with how covid-19 has changed out lives. With that said, this experience is still unacceptable. The manager running the host desk was outright standoffish, and rude. Our server did the bare minimum (including not wearing his mask over his mouth and nose, and instead had the mask down on his chin and under his bottom lip): took drink and food order, dropped food off, and dropped refills we needed after the bread was brought out when he handed off the ticket. I ordered a chicken fried chicken and they gave me a chicken fried steak. My mom ordered a medium well steak and it came out well done(no pinkvat all in the center). The butter on top of her steak didn't melt which is a sign it was left to sit longer than it should've before being sent out. My chicken fried steak was slightly below room temperature, and the fries were soggy before I consumed them. My family opted to not even waste time consulting a manager since the initial encounter was so bad upfront and just eat since it took forever to get our food the first time and it was obvious our server wasn't interested in the job. I absolutely will not be returning here. For the price they want you to pay for their "premium" food, this was a 👎🏻👎🏻 experience. The attitude of the employees reflects management. I wasn't surprised the service was bad after seeing how management acts.
Today 1/19/2020 around 8:30pm - 10pm was the first time ever at a Saltgrass. At the beginning it was great and our waiter, Devin, was exceptional. So it started to go downhill when my wife found a bug in her salad. She got all nauseous and she second guessed the rest of her meal. Personally I liked their chicken the best out of the ribs and steak we tried. When we informed Devin about the bug he apologized and went to talk to the manager twice and she didn't stop by at all to talk to us. Well we stayed to the end and even decided to get dessert. I later went to the restroom and felt like I could not use them they were super dirty like if they don't check up on them often. Maybe that's where the bug came from 🤔 🤮 Hopefully this gets attention. This type of restaurant should be more cautious of these things.
Over the years service has gotten worst iv been here a hour only to get a cold loaf of bread and 5 different people walked in behind has their food and is eating meantime the young lady brings me over soup I didn’t order and said she would be back with salad I didn’t order …..my son wanted this for his 14 birthday its a hour in a half later we still have no food ill just go to Arlington next time it out the way but better service …..((((
Poor service.I am a Landrys select club member and I frequent Saltgrass locations and have never once recieved bad service. Will not return to the south Ft Worth location. Went in for an early dinner on Sunday , after being seated , we never got a server. After watching another couple be seated and get a server immediately , we left. We let the manager know on the way out. When the average meal for 2 cost over $100 at this restaurant , I won’t tolerate being ignored. What makes it worse was the rude loud server who finally approach our table as we were leaving making some kind of excuse to the manager. Take that kind of stuff away from the patrons. Totally unprofessional. Management needs some additional training as well as the host since they walked by our table several times and knew no one had began serving our table. Anyone who frequents Saltgrass knows they pride themselves on their service. I could understand if the restaurant was busy but that wasn’t the case. There are plenty of steakhouses in Ft Worth Texas and I’ll be on the lookout for one that takes their business seriously.
*Edited-I just read your response. What else is there that you need to know? What a ridiculous and inconsiderate response! This tells me that corporate re-training needs to begin at a higher level than just the wait staff.* I was so frustrated that all I could do is cry to keep from being unkind to the other employees. This was our first meal of the day after having left Church. Worst waitress and service I have EVER received at this location and it is normally my favorite restaurant to come to. Jessica needs to be retrained! She brought my husband's Blue Cheese Crumbles for his salad very late...as he was almost finished with his salad and said "Oh, you are halfway done now" and sat it down on the table for him. His beer never came to the table until I stood up and went to get a MOD. The manager on duty had it to our table within a few minutes. My six year old was getting antsy after waiting 45 minutes or so for his food. The manager got it to us pretty quickly after I asked him why it was taking so long for us to receive our order. I ordered a well done steak and received a medium well red steak. It ruined my entire meal. I sent it back and did not have anything to eat from this establishment. The manager did his best to rectify the situation, but the damage had been done and I left looking for somewhere else to find a good meal with good customer service. She was extra attentive to an older gentleman, which took time away from getting my family's order correct and bringing items that we ordered to our table in a timely manner or at all. One reason that he got extra attention was because his steak was not cooked per his order either and they had to remake it and bring him a new one. He was there before we were seated and had been waiting for his corrected order is how I know. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION if you want quality food and service!
This review is for the Cityview location only so here’s the play by play on this location: The hostess sat us at a table that we found out later was not assigned to for any wait staff! After waiting for 30 minutes, one of the other waitresses noticed there were no drink napkins on our table. Although this was not part of her section, she tried to help us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. About 30 minutes later I decided to go to bar to see what’s up. Our order was indeed waiting at the bar ready to be served. I asked bar tender if someone could bring it to our table. Just as we were getting up to leave due to such poor service our drinks arrived along with the bill. It was my son’s birthday and I was trying hard not to get any one as upset as I was. The martini was as bad as the service so we decided to go somewhere else, since we had the bill and no one seemed too interested in taking our food order! Plus we never got our appetizer. We went to Houfbrau, the martini’s were awful there too but we had good service and the steaks were great!
Food quality is worse than last year. Steaks were horrible, smaller and overdone. They must use seed oil on food because it all tastes plastic. Was great for years but not any more. Doubt we'll be back.
I’ve given Saltgrass Steakhouse several chances—probably three or four visits at this point—and unfortunately every experience has been disappointing. After the first couple of visits, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and assumed maybe it was just a bad day. But after repeated issues, it’s clear it’s more of a pattern than a one-off mistake. My most recent visit was a takeout order, and it was the final straw. I ordered the cowboy steak cooked medium rare, but when I got home it was cooked well done. On top of that, about a quarter of the steak was nothing but fat and cartilage, which made a big portion of it basically inedible. To make matters worse, they also forgot to include two different sides from my order. When you’re paying steakhouse prices, you expect the basics—accurate orders and properly cooked food. At this point, after multiple disappointing experiences, I can’t justify giving them another chance. It’s really unfortunate because I wanted to like this place, but sadly I won’t be giving them my business again.
During our recent visit to this Saltgrass location, we experienced several issues that were disappointing and concerning. First, the cleanliness of the establishment was below expectations. Our table was not properly cleaned, and there were visible food crumbs underneath. This created an unpleasant dining environment. Additionally, the service was unsatisfactory. Our server forgot our drinks, and we had to remind her. When the drinks were eventually brought to the table, we received unsweetened tea instead of the sweetened tea we had originally requested. The quality of the food also did not meet the standards we have come to expect from Saltgrass. Our salads were excessively saturated with dressing, which negatively affected the taste and overall presentation of the meal. I have visited other Saltgrass locations for business lunches and customer meetings, and those experiences have been consistently positive. Unfortunately, this particular location has been the worst I have encountered. I am also aware that the city has cited this location for multiple restaurant violations, which is concerning. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made to ensure a better experience for future guests.
We visited this location last night (January 18th, 2025) for a dinner date with a 7:30 pm reservation. It was clearly a busy evening, and we waited briefly before being seated by a kind hostess. We were seated in a large booth not far from the front entrance. While the food itself was fine, the service felt noticeably rushed and uncomfortable compared to typical expectations. Our server hurried drink service, avoided engagement, and maintained an awkwardly formal tone throughout the meal. We ordered tenderloin bites as an appetizer, followed by steak and blackened redfish for our entrees. The food was delivered by another staff member and was handled well. However, when the check was requested, we were asked whether it was together or separate despite it being a clear single-check scenario, which added unnecessary awkwardness. As we were leaving, the interaction ended on an unprofessional note that made the experience feel unwelcoming overall. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that service consistency and guest comfort are addressed.
I hate leaving bad reviews. But this was just horrendous. Me and my wife. Both got 16oz ribeyes. Ordered medium rare. Mine was cooked rare, hers was blue rare. We sent hers back. Our original plates took about 30min to come out. Then they took about 20min to fix her steak. The atmosphere was horrendous. Crying kids the entire time and ine kid crawling around the fire place. Felt like I was in a daycare. Our server was nice, but I saw her twice in about a hour we were there. Terrible experiance all around. It was road house quality food with bougie steakhouse wait times and prices. 1/10 do not reccomend coming here.
The food per usual was AMAZING. Steak was cooked to perfection potatoes were creamy and the asparagus was crunchy and seasoned well. The service in and of itself was AWFUL. We were a big party with two servers. One of our servers was fantastic the other not so much. She forgot half the orders then allowed for 4 of our members to basically watch us eat for 30 minutes before their food was even on a ticket. The party we had was fairly large so they had this whole $1300 minimum thing which we met. But to have a server argue in front of all of us (the one that screwed half the orders up) about a tip even after the gratuity fee. She was NOT willing to split the extra tip with her co-server and DEMANDED she get her own seperate tip. IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY I might add. That lady alone turned a birthday dinner into a very transactional experience. Past that food is great.
