So so good! We went there 4 times in 9 days... The sashimis are super fresh! The bellies are so fat! The rolls are super tasty... Also the calimari oh my super good as well! I loved everything that we ordered and ate!
I was surprised how empty it was when I have lunch there. The food was great! We ordered deluxe chirashi bowl and warrior rolls. The fish in the chirashi bowl is very fresh and thick cut. The chef is quite generous! Total cost is 64$, 32 per person, that’s not bad for the quality.
Excellent service team and great food. We had a great time thanks 👍🏼
MJ Sushi is our go to sushi place all time. Had lunch here today with my husband and we share a chicken karage, monster roll and honey walnut roll. I have tried half of the rolls off their menu since they open and every single roll is yummy delicious! You can never go wrong for a sushi fix here on anyday. Did I also mention their service is good as well. Servers are friendly and accommodating. Ambience is nice and clean. Highly recommend MJ Sushi!
Quality sushi in Foster City, so happy that don’t always need to go to San Mateo for sushi! Also the staff and atmosphere is great, super baby friendly
This spot just opened up recently and I was very curious to try since it’s very close to where I work. I ordered takeout and got the deluxe handroll, salmon nigiri, and the uni nigiri. All of it was super good and fresh. I was surprised by how much salmon they gave in the nigiri. Definitely bang for the buck there! The deluxe handroll was filled with a lot of the o toro, which I love! It had one uni piece at the beginning and that’s it. It would be nice if it had one or two more uni to make it a bit creamier. The uni nigiri was very creamy and fulfilled my uni cravings.
Tasty and fresh rolls, and I haven’t seen prices this low since before covid. We got the Philadelphia, rainbow, and BB rolls. So glad to have a new regular sushi place close to home!
Stopped in for a quick bite after getting off a plane and exceeded expectations for the price and location. Fish was fresh and in generous portions. Service was super attentive and efficient. I was able to grab a seat, get fed, and get out in 30 minutes much happier!
We tried this place for the first time and were impressed. The service was quite good and the food better. A starter of a 10 piece tempura was enjoyable. We had 3 rolls, crunchy California, crunchy eel, and the Philly roll. Both of the crunches we would order again. And they serve Asahi Super Dry beer.
A rather affordable sushi restaurant that recently opened in Foster City. Their rolls are around $14 each and have lots of flavor. I would highly recommend their Monster Roll but their MJ Roll is quite tasty as well.
Great sushi at a fair price. The presentation and service are amazing! The restaurant is very clean and has a lot of window line which makes for a pleasant dining experience.

Had a fantastic time here. Came on a whim and they had my food ready in a short amount of time, they gave me a free watermelon drink which happens to be my favorite flavor of all time. How did they know? They didn’t. But it made my night. The staff is very friendly that that makes all the difference. Keep it up.
Consistent, quick and delicious. I dined in restaurant when they first opened and the service was great. Since then I regularly order take out from here either for pick up or delivery. It’s always reliably good. My favorite is the MJ Roll, and the deluxe hand roll when I’m feeling like treating myself.

I went here at around 11 maybe 12 (am of course) on a Saturday and it was great. I ordered the California roll my first time and the mango one when I came another time. Their prices were very reasonable and the sushi tasted very high quality. I came with a friend the first time and only paid around $20-25 for me and my friend (total) which is really affordable for only 2 people. In conclusion if you're looking to eat some tasty sushi or other Asian cuisine (I wouldn't know) MJ sushi is a great option. Would come again.
MJ sushi is surprisingly affordable and thereby amazing for families! My surprise favorite was the TAKOYAKI. Primarily appetizers and rolls here, plus 3 rice bento selections, so you're not going to find udon or nabes. The rolls were great with fresh tasting fish, while the chicken and salmon teriyaki were very understated in flavor but add some soy sauce and you're good to go. Food arrives really fast and it's a huge restaurant so usually no wait to get a table. There were a lot of groups and families eating here, so we fit right in.
Went here to get a quick bite after settling in at the hotel. Delicious food, great service, very tasty. The server was very helpful and gave suggestions on what to try. Their suggestions were amazing.
Great addition to japanese restaurants in Foster City since 3 have closed. It is still on grand opening. We arrived around 5:30 pm. and got seated right away. It was not that crowded. The interior is cozy and nice. There are 3 servers at the time, and we we greeted right a way when we are ready to order. Since it is still a grand opening, the first drink is on the house. Anything from the ftidge except sake. There are many roll dishes on the menu. We order red dragon , sashimi special, and chicken karaage. The sashimi special is presented nicely. I am not sure if they reuse the flower or not. It is kind of waste but make the presentation nice. It is generous cut and yummy except the hamachi. I just feel it is not melt in the mouth sesnsation. The red dragon is nice. It is a shrimp tempura roll with chopped spicy tuna on top. It is filling. Chicken karaage on the other side is not seasoned enough. It is pretty bland, but luckily, we carry chili sauce with us, and with chili sauce, it is good. Texture wise, it is cooked through. This place is good for big groups since it has plenty of tables.
This is the new (and welcomed) addition to the Metro Center, which really only had the Five Guys restaurant as a fast food option. We had the Miso Soup, Goyza (Pork Potstickers), Chicken Karaage, Tuna Avocado Hand Roll (Blue Fin Tuna), BB Roll and another plate of sushi I can’t remember the name of 😁 Everything was freshly made and the service is efficient and friendly. Best of all - You’re first drink is free and bottled water is always free. Nice touch. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Love the food and sashimi selections were very fresh and good cuts. BUT, management- if you’re reading this, please instruct your cleaner to only use tiny amount of pine-sol to clean. The whole restaurant smelled like it on 2/2 visits. Huge put off!
One of the most average sushi places I’ve ever been to. MJ Sushi is not stellar nor horrible, just plain average. First, the negatives. The atmosphere is pretty lacking. It’s clean, and you can tell it’s a sushi place, but other than that, it has a basic modern restaurant look. In addition, the quality of the dishes were inconsistent. My sashimi was fresh, but my Mom said her tuna rolls were warm, as if they’ve been sitting out, and simply didn’t taste good. She couldn’t finish them and had to bring them home. As for the positives, there is a lot of space. There were plenty of open tables, and I bet they could fit more if they wanted to. Therefore, there was no wait to be seated. The employees were also polite and quick with our orders. One gimmick I found interesting was the small cups of free ice cream they gave out to every table. Them being open on a late 4th of July evening was also a plus, since every other place we wanted to go to was closed at that time. That’s the only reason why tried this place out, honestly. Overall, I wouldn’t want to come again, but I wouldn’t hate it if I had to. 3/5.
Have a simple lunch - 2 rolls. My friend does not eat raw food, based on the description of the 2 rolls they should cooked but end up with raw salmon. It will be good if the restaurant label whether it is all cooked or with raw.

ordered sushi rolls, but they arrived packed so tightly that they were all stuck together in one container. Because of this, they looked like a messy mash rather than proper rolls. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to give such an order to a customer. The fish itself was tasty, but the poor presentation completely overshadowed all the positives.
