Fantastic Service and Friendly Staff! I recently visited California fish grill and had the most delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The service provided by the staff was truly outstanding! The staff members at the place are not only friendly but also incredibly attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my dining experience was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations, making the decision-making process much easier. Prices up to around $15 for a combo plate. Convenient self-order devices at the counter - speeds up ordering when there's not enough staff. Cooked to order, so always expect 10-15 minutes wait Generally good fish and shrimp. CA Fish Grill does keep changing the sides, so what you get today isn't made the same as it was years ago.

We've been coming to this place for years, several locations. Food has always been on point. Clam chowder is good, sometimes a bit thin (scared to say watered down lol). They have added more chicken choices for those who don't feel like having fish.

If you like fish you have to go to California Fish Grill. This place is unbeatable in quality for price. Lots of healthy options. I ordered the sea bass the first time and the rockfish the second time. Both were fresh and very well cooked. The sides were awesome too. The rice, the zucchini, the sweet potato fries, and the shrimp. This place is highly recommended! 💯

California Fish Grill in Fountain Valley California is always a great experiance with a wide variety of scrumptious fresh fish dishes. Appetizers,small lunch and generous dinner portions. A great selection of sauces at the sauce bar add to the excellent experiance. The beverages at CFG are excellent as well! Craft style soda fountain drinks and adult beverages are available as well.

Good fish, meh chips. The meal is a bargain, that’s a lot of fish for the money. I’ll be going back to try other dishes.

Chipotle-style healthy fish meals. You can choose between a bowl, salad, or ala carte items. Each had a choice of fresh (wild and farm caught) fish protein - swai, tilapia, salmon, mahi mahi, etc - choice of sides, and choice of base - cauliflower rice, brown rice, etc. Quick, delicious, and healthy!

This place has really gone downhill. They keep cutting back everything, and raising prices. Can’t even get a proper amount of sauce on my fish anymore. It’s been getting progressively worse and worse. I remember when it was two slices of bread with your meal, then they cut to one. Apparently now they’ve cut it to none. I guess they’re headed that direction with the sauces on the fish too🤦‍♂️ in their defense, when I asked for some sauce, they gave it to me no charge… Still miss the old CFG!

Placed my ToGo ordered through the Kiosk and waited almost 15 minutes. Didn't mind the wait till I witnessed my food resting on the counter and the person handling the register using the top of my container as a fan. I was actually shocked on the lack of care of Sanitation or concern when it comes to hygiene when handling my food. I walked up and was about to say something but the person who was packing my food left. I asked another attendant that I would like another Container Top. The person stood there and looked at me like I was asking for something unreasonable. Maybe I should have kept the other container top so I can post her fingerprints on the clear plastic top. I have eaten at the Costa Mesa location many times and have enjoyed the food and service. Perhaps these are franchises and that only this location should be avoided...

Let me start off by saying I walked in and I didn’t know much about the place because I had just seen it every day driving by. I knew it was going to be a little bit of a hassle so I make sure to tip because I have a shellfish allergy. When I asked the host to inform the cooks, he was very nice about it. The chef however, was not. He literally gave me a dirty look and asked the host if he was serious. When I did get my food, I asked a item to be removed off of it (I got fish tacos asked for the pickled onions to be removed). Unfortunately, we had to pull them off. After I left this place, I puked my guts out; I don’t know if it was the food. I don’t know if it was my allergy, but it was bad. If I could get my money back, I 100% would.

What a GREAT Disappointment to read all the positive reviews only to walk in and find this a place with no customer service. The only employee standing there was not behind the counter and they had 2 Large Kiosks from which to order! It was so off putting…the person there claimed they could assist. I said, “No thank you!” “I don’t need assistance with computers” I prefer a live person taking my order, etc. so I cannot review the food, etc because I left!
