Really good food and service!

Sehr leckeres, authentisches Essen — White Rice and Stew 🤌🏻🔥; sehr freundlicher Service, wenig Wartezeit, hatten kaum bestellt, schon stand das Essen auf dem Tisch. Außerdem ordentliche Portionen.

Grundsätzlich ist ein westafrikanisches Restaurant in Frankfurt eine großartige Idee – längst überfällig und kulturell eine Bereicherung für die Stadt. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend, und insbesondere Roland verdient ein großes Lob: aufmerksam, freundlich und mit echter Servicehaltung. Allerdings gab es bei meinem Besuch deutliche Abstriche in der Verfügbarkeit und Ausführung der Speisen. Rund die Hälfte der Gerichte auf der Karte war nicht erhältlich, darunter klassische Signature Dishes wie Bohnen oder Red Stew – ein klarer Dämpfer für die Vorfreude. Die Plantains wirkten vorfrittiert und anschließend wieder erwärmt, statt frisch zubereitet, und der Jollof Reis war leider nur lauwarm serviert. Geschmacklich war er jedoch wirklich sehr gut – würzig, ausgewogen und authentisch. Gerade in afrikanischen Restaurants liebe ich es, wenn das Essen richtig heiß auf den Tisch kommt – so, dass man es gemeinsam mit der Abkühlzeit genießen kann. Unterm Strich: Noch kein Fünf-Sterne-Erlebnis, aber mit viel Potenzial. Ich freue mich, dass es dieses Restaurant in Frankfurt gibt, und wünsche dem Team wirklich Erfolg und Weiterentwicklung – besonders in puncto Planung, Verfügbarkeit und Temperaturmanagement. Ich komme in ein paar Monaten gerne wieder und hoffe, dann eine konsequentere Struktur und noch mehr Authentizität erleben zu dürfen.

Unfortunately, the portions are very small. We visited the restaurant twice. During our first visit, the portion of jollof rice with chicken and salad was acceptable for the price. However, during our second visit, the same order looked completely different. We received two small pieces of beef with jollof rice (apparently, salad is no longer included). The side dishes each cost €5. On our first visit, a plate of plantain cost €5. On the second visit, plantain and yam together cost €10, but the portions of each side dish were reduced to the size of a single side dish, while the price was doubled. As you can see, the restaurant is clearly cutting costs, and the prices are not cheap. It is unacceptable to serve only two pieces of meat and compensate with rice so that customers still leave feeling full. I will not pay €18 for such a plate in the future.

If you decide to come eat here you need to come with a lot of patience, especially on weekends when the restaurant is full. Service is extremely slow, not enough staff work there. We waited over an hour before being served and some things were not available on the menu. The food is very tasty and delicious, however portions are a bit small (especially for the rice options). For the price people are paying they should be able to provide a much better service!!

The food was excellent but the service was lacking. The amount of food was decent however, the price was too high for the amount given. Do not expect to have a good conversation because of the loud music.

They didn't give me what I ordered. I even asked twice about my order. I didn't complain anymore since I was already hungry. I think that was one of the co-owners who arrived and when I asked to pay, they knew they didn't give me what I ordered and so they had to talk to me if it was my first time in an African restaurant, and asked if everything was okay. Just because I was the only customer that time doesn't mean they should serve me what's left in their kitchen.

Es war irgendwie nicht meins! Ich hatte irgendeine wirklich schleimige Soße und darin war Rindfleisch das wahrscheinlich mein Hund ausgespuckt hätte. Dazu gab es dann einen Klumpen Maismehl mit Wasser ohne jegliche Würze (in Ostafrika heißt das Zeug Ugalli). Ok, ich will mich nicht beschweren denn ch wollte ja westafrikanisch einmal probieren und habe festgestellt dass es nicht meins war. Das Beste am ganzen war die Cola und die kam stilsicher aus der Dose! Immerhin war die Bedienung recht nett

The fish is too dry.

Worst experience ever. We waited 2:20h for the food and then left hungry. Most of the dishes on the menu were not available. The waiter kept telling us 30min .. 30min.. but food never came. In addition opening hours on Google maps are not correct. Saturdays open only at 4pm
