I am writing this review beaming! I have to tell you—the food you catered for our son's birthday party was, hands down, the highlight of the celebration! We were absolutely blown away. The quality and the quantity were pure perfection, and the taste? Oh my goodness, the food was so incredibly delicious that it received nothing but rave reviews from every single guest. It wasn't just tasty; it was soulful and authentic! Everyone, from the kids to the grandparents, genuinely loved it and went back for seconds! Thank you, Chat Bhavan. You didn't just provide food; you provided a seamless, joyful experience and truly made our son's birthday memorable. We loved every single bite and appreciated your exceptional service.

Friendly staff, big menu and incredible food. They welcomed us with a big smile which felt so nice and warm. We tried their Chana bhatura, Dahi paapri chaat and ordered chaach as the drink. Everything was incredible. I would love to explore more items on their menu.

Good vegetarian food in Fremont. I have been to many Indian restaurants and I have to rate this place as one of the best! The food was excellent for my non expert palate. Not too spicy and very tasty. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian, which almost tasted like Sweet and Sour Pork. Just switch out the pork with cauliflower. Nice and crispy too. And the Chana Masala with butter Naan and the twirled Pathora bread. I had a splendid Mango Lassi to cool off the tongue although like I said it really wasn’t too spicy at all. The only thing I have to say is that the parking area in that complex is very tight. Reminds me of Honolulu!!! Ya, so parking is not good. Oh…. Also all of the servers are all dressed really nice and they are all good looking! 😜 it matters to me. It’s nice to have somebody in a dress shirt and slacks and a cute face help me with my Order. White paper on top of white linen tables. Very clean.

Really high quality Indian street food. Buns and chickpeas and different dishes I haven't tried before. Busy staff, clean restaurant, and we'll run operation. Service is okay, but just need to let waitress know if you need something.

I have been coming here for some time with my family. As you can see I had the loyalty card which they have switched to a different system. The food is always good. Love the vegetarian burger (somehow the bun is the best part, it is very soft) they can definitely make the veggie patty bigger to fit the bun but nevertheless it is just good. Feels like the burger you get back at home. Vada pav is good, dhai batata thing is good. Best part of the meal here is the chole bhatura it is the best in the bay. Never a surprise it is always better the last time. It is like eating one from India. The place has a monthly menu which rotates, can be busier during holidays and weekends. The staff has changed, they just need to be more consistent with them being more trained. But if you are here for good vegetarian food which is always very good.

I had ordered from Chaat Bhavan for 2 parties this weekend. All my guests loved the food and enjoyed it thoroughly. My parties were a success because of Chaat Bhavan. Delivery of food was right on time and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this restaurant for dine in ,take out and catering.

Amazing place and amazing food. This place is super good. I love going here. It’s also very affordable compared to other western dishes st other place. Gijarati Punjabi and sizzles are their speciality. Today also we go with family and enjoyed the quality food. Mr Jitendra taken care of all ,Children to seniors.Make our dinner special Only tandori roti served was cold and not established. Talk to mam too. Very sad as aged parents we are. Waste if money. We visited this restaurant for a quick office lunch. It’s an authentic Indian eatery offering vegetarian dishes. I went with my colleague and ordered a dal curry—essentially an Indian lentil curry—that was a bit too watery for my taste. However, the spicy spinach and white potatoes dish was the highlight, and dipping it in naan bread made for a thoroughly satisfying lunch.

Loved the experience of Indian Chaat variety at this place. Tastefully prepared, nicely presented & served with Love. What else can we expect ? We tried multiple variety of dishes & surprisingly all them were tasty. This is unusual experience for me for an Indian restaurant in USA. Ambience is nice but it quickly becomes Noisy as this is a very busy place. Even on a Monday evening, they had approx. 20+ minutes wait for people showing up after 7:30 pm. But the wait is worth it. You won’t go wrong. Definitely check it out if you are Fremont area.

Service was very slow despite the restaurant not being too crowded, and the waiters were just talking to each other instead of even giving us the menu first thing. I got the house thali, as well as methi chaman paneer with pesto naan (a monthly special). The pesto naan was pretty good but the paneer which gave me high expectations let me down due to the small paneer pieces. Thali was decent as well. I do think the food could’ve been heated more as it was just warm and not hot enough.

I gave a better rating before to this restaurant, however, dropping it since they need to improve their services. There are vegan items added to the menu which is the reason we went to the restaurant. The waiter informed us that the vegan rice items are cooked with butter. So we ordered paratha which was excessively salty. We talked with the manager and he apologized. They corrected that the vegan items are indeed vegan. They were willing to make those for us and offered a new vegan dessert too. Appreciate that. Would advise any one vegan to ask about each item. For example, they bring dairy based raita for a vegan paratha order. They do need to train their waiters better. I am hoping they will improve their service. The restaurant is too crowded with tables packed too close.

placed order through ubereats, quality is very different than when you eat in restaurant. In restaurant, koftas are crunchy and also garlic naan, but when we do online order, naan are mostly burned and chewing is so hard, its like you are eating rubber not naan. I did provide them this review when i dined in last time and was told plz call us after u place order, we will make sure, you get it. I did that and guess what no change, as if the person who picked didn't even care to take action. this is my to go place for north indian food for years and management was never this bad. Me and my husband and I were here to have an early dinner. We were seated without any wait and the menu was given to us so we decided what to order. The server came and we ordered two coffees, one chaas that we shared, puri bhaji and Amritsar kulcha and chole. We also ordered golgappa and to our surprise it comes with three shot glasses full of different liquids that you pour in the golgappa and eat and there were only 3 that were served, what should one do with the remaining liquid? That was not worth the price they charged for. The kulcha was not great either in taste, felt like having a pita bread with chole inside in it. Anyhow overall okay but not sure if I would like to go again here.

Yesterday, I did go for lunch with my husband and we ordered garlic paneer chilli with stuffed kulcha, bhel thali with chaas and parantha. Thali items were all cold except for the parantha in it. The taste of thali was all bland with no salt and spices. Garlic chilli paneer pieces were so big for a bite (ice cube shaped) and also it was cold inside. Kulcha, parantha and chaas were the only items I liked. Chaat Bhavan used to have good quality and tasty food couple of years ago but now the quality, taste is really gone down.

Flavor: very good. Service: not the friendliest. Value: horrible. As a regular customer who ordered the House Thali consistently over the past 2 years, their portion sizes keep decreasing. It’s noticeable. While the to-go containers for their thali are already on the smaller size (which is fine), they at least used to fill them up to the top. Now they are filled only 1/2 way or worse, only a 1/4. Portion sizes keep getting smaller, but the price certainly does not. Flavor of food is great. Dal, vegetables…all very flavorful. Their desserts, however, are terrible. Unfortunately on their thali, they do not let you substitute an extra dal and vegetable for the 2 desserts. I’ve even told them I’d happily pay them more to substitute a dal and vegetable for the desserts. They are quick to respond to these online reviews and ask you to email them so they can discuss further, but trust me: they do not respond to emails. Also: if you order tea to-go or through delivery, they do not properly seal the lid. I’ve brought that to their attention and they’ve said they would address it, but they never did. Especially for delivery, beverages should have a tamper resistant seal like literally every other restaurant in this area does, and the bag of food should be completely sealed shut, not wide open. This is a huge safety and liability issue (especially if you’re getting the food & drinks delivered) It’s apparent Chaat Bhavan does not value loyal customers or take feedback seriously. Makes you wonder: if they neglect the simplest things, what else are they neglecting? I truly hope they do much better when they open their fine-dining restaurant and bar in Pleasanton on Main Street.

Went there early evening, and lots of tables were available. Ambience was nice. Food arrived without delay but it was mostly bland. Manchurian was sweet possibly due to excess ketchup. Paratha stuffing was bland no flavor. Aloo tikki chole was pretty mild, no cilantro or tamarind chutney. It was literally just tikki and boiled chole and nothing else. Okay place for people who doesn’t like hot or spicy food. Not a place if you are looking for authentic flavorful Indian dish.

The service was very poor. We went to the restaurant at 9pm, and expecting them to close the kitchen soon, we placed the order for appetizers and entrees. At 9:30, the waiter asked us to pay the check as they close soon. I made a mistake of not saying “no, I will pay only after the dish arrives”. 10 minutes later, at 9:45, the main dish arrived and within 5 minutes one of the waiters asked us if we want to box it. If they can’t wait for the customer to have their dish peacefully, what’s the point of running a restaurant. Never recommending this hotel to anyone. You will be better off at Honest restaurant which is nearby or any other restaurants around. One more issue was that the Bhindi masala was not in gravy style. It was a Bhindi fry. When questioned, the waiter said that in our restaurant, this is what Bhindi Masala is. I am adding a picture so that in future, other customers won’t be fooled like us. (Wanted to ask if we order paneer butter masala, would they give us paneer chilli or paneer fry) They even contradicted their own statement that I can order the drink later and when I asked for the drinks menu, they responded saying kitchen is closed. Overall a horrible experience for us.
