The food is very authentic. I am very picky about my mexican food and this place checks all the boxes. Bar area is beautiful and the staff is always so nice. This is definitely my newest favorite hangout in Fremont for Mexican food, drinks. The vibe is on point. Dont forget to try to soup 😋

Food: very good portion and flavors! We ordered a Top shelf burrito and their Roy Special. The burrito fillings are flavorful and nice amount of meat; the Roy Special won’t disappoint you just like they say! The chicken is grilled tender and goes super well with the chili. Service: it’s a little busy during lunch and they have many group customers. They are nice and helpful. Ambiance: Midwestern style of interior design. Suitable for family and friends gathering.

High-quality ingredients, great flavors, generous portions, and reasonable prices make El Rodeo a sure thing. Service was prompt, and the entire staff repeatedly checked to see if everything was OK or if something else was needed. The Top Shelf Burrito was huge, and big enough to provide lunch the next day. The chicken fajitas were also excellent. On a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was about 3/4 full. On a Friday evening, the restaurant was very full, but the wait was only about 15 minutes at 7:30 pm. We liked it enough to return, and will go back again.

Si I have only been here 10 minutes and I am already in love with this place. At least 5 employees said hello. I sat at the bar, immediately got a menu handed to me and then another employee asked me what I wanted to drink. Then a third person took my food order. They weren't pushy but very attentive and kind, friendly. That's the kind of people that make new customers like me want to return. Funny thing is, I haven't even had a bite to eat yet. My food just arrived as I am typing and it looks and smells fabulous. I ordered the #1 combo because I wanted to try a few things. #1 combo comes with a taco(your choice of hard or soft shell and meat), an enchilada of your choice of meat or cheese and a chili relleno. Let's not forget the rice and beans. The atmosphere is inviting and nostalgic. I'll be back for sure. I just finished eating. 100% satisfied!

Great Mexican restaurant. It was festively decorated for the holidays. The portions are huge here and the drinks were great. We had an office dinner party and it was an amazing experience. There are TVs there with games on. I would definitely come again!

This restaurant recently opened about 3 months ago, and they are already thriving! The food portions are very generous, and the service was both 10/10! We started with chips, and it came with salsa and pico de gallo. I added the extra spicy salsa, which was deliciously spicy! To surprise us, the owner came out with some loaded nachos that were covered with shredded pork, melted cheese, guac, and sour cream on the house. 🔥 10/10 My gf picked the Top Shelf Burrito, and I ordered the Ultimate Fajitas. Both dishes were really tasty, heavy, and meaty, which is perfect but was enough to share with 4 people. To top off our meal, we ordered the Flan with strawberry drizzle, then everything was washed down with a grilled shrimp michelada and a blue thunder cocktail. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area!

Heard they just opened this place close to our house, so we walked over to check it out. Great food and lovely service. We tried the fish tacos, Chile relleno and an enchilada. All were great. Will be back

My husband found this spot that was rumored to be like our beloved La Casita. From the chips and salsa, the tortilla soup to all the fabulous truly authentic main dishes - it felt like coming home! I literally cried tears of joy from the first taste of the soup! Core memories sweeping back after every bite! The staff was superb as well. We enjoyed hand crafted cocktails at the bar while waiting for our table. Chatted with the super friendly bar tenders who did confirm the chef from La Casita is here! Then again confirmed when the manager stopped by our table to ask how things were. I mentioned I basically grew up at La Casita- my mom and her bestie used to go and take all of us kids which then turned into adults going and taking our friends and spouses! Ladies and Gentlemen- the rumors are confirmed! We are THRILLED to have found this spot and will be supporting this family owned restaurant from here on out. The prices are higher (and cup of soup no longer comes with the meal) BUT that’s expected and honestly, the food/service is well worth it! 👌 for any long time La Casita fans I say to you - WELCOME HOME!!

Was a little late for a reservation and our table was given away, but they made up for it by placing us in the restaurant they own next door! Even though we didn’t have the atmosphere of the restaurant, it was even better since it was like having our own private event! The hosts were constantly checking on us and it was amazing service! Food was sooo good! I loved the camarones del rodeo and everyone else loved their food too! Made my friends birthday one of a kind!

Finding authentic Mexican food that actually tastes like home is rare, but this place nailed it. Every bite reminded me of my family’s cooking. I brought my entire family here, and everyone from the kids to the adults absolutely loved it. The flavors are genuine, the service is warm, and a huge thank you to Evelyn and Liliana for taking such great care of us! They were so helpful and made our family dinner feel even more special. We’ve definitely found our new favorite spot. 10/10!

I don't live in the Fremont area but have eaten here twice and this is the only restaurant in the Bay Area that I would call "my favorite".. The friendliness, the food, ...just everything. I love it.

First time here. Spoke with the owner who recently did additional renovations to the restaurant. Ordered their Chile Rellenos for lunch. Tasty and good sized portion with a reasonable price. Interior decor is very rustic with a horse theme throughout. They even have life-size horse statue in front. Great for families. Very casual with an extensive open bar area. Free parking in front. Very good Mexican cuisine. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

This is a cute and fun place. The decor was fantastic. The food was OK. The tacos were a little greasy but the burrito was great. The staff are hit and miss though. They come out quickly with chips and salsa but then you wait a while for them to come take your drink order. They do not come around to refill the water. There are two young high school aged teen young men that are great though! They come around, ask you how things are, clean up the table and were just really pleasant. The young ladies there, though, not so much. They would stand in a corner and talk or check their phones all the while, you are waiting for them to come over to take your order or bring you some more water. Getting the check is another story. They do not tell you if you are to pay at the front or if they will take your payment. They just drop it at the table and leave.

Food was very good but lacked proper spicing. Even the Salsas were lacking in spicing. It seemed like the food was Americanized. Great service and nice location. The chicken and rice soup was the best from our order.

I recently visited El Rodeo in Fremont, located along Stevenson Boulevard in one of the city’s busy commercial corridors. The area has a wide mix of international restaurants, and El Rodeo stands out as a longstanding Mexican restaurant serving familiar comfort dishes that appeal to both local residents and visitors. The atmosphere feels like a classic neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The dining room is colorful and lively, with traditional decorative elements and a layout that works well for both families and groups of friends. It has the type of comfortable setting where people settle in for a relaxed meal rather than rushing through the experience. The menu focuses on well-known Mexican staples such as tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and combination plates. Dishes tend to emphasize bold flavors and generous portions, with classic accompaniments like rice, beans, and house sauces. The food reflects the approachable style of Mexican American restaurant cooking that has become widely popular across California. Service during the visit felt friendly and attentive. Staff were welcoming and kept the pace of the meal moving smoothly, which helped create an easygoing dining experience. From a global travel perspective, El Rodeo reminded me of neighborhood Mexican restaurants I have visited throughout California and the American Southwest, where the focus is on hearty dishes, vibrant flavors, and a warm social atmosphere.

This restaurant has a fun atmosphere. The decor elements are made of reclaimed wood, leather, and metal. The food is made with fresh ingredients, but is not particularly tasty. The service is great, with a cherub making sure that we always had plenty of chips and salsa. The chicken in the quesadilla could have been smothered in sauce, but wasn’t.

My husband and I just finished having dinner at El Rodeo. This was our first time and we had high hopes for a great dinner based on the reviews and the restaurant was busy. My biggest gripe was the flavor of the food. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito. Super simple. What can go wrong? It was the blandest chicken burrito I’ve ever had. The beans and the rice in the burrito had no flavor. None. There was no cilantro either. And they put the guacamole and the sour cream on the side. I asked for some chile to spice up my burrito and they brought me a red enchilada sauce that tasted like it came out of a can. I was SO disappointed. No, I can not call this authentic Mexican food. Authentic Mexican food has depth in flavor. It doesn’t have to be spicy but it does have to have sabor. Now I said the restaurant was busy and I believe they are successful because they cater to a demographic that prefers a blander diet. So if that’s you then this restaurant is for you. If you prefer Mexican food with a little more sabor then go somewhere else. That being said, they have great service and the place is clean.

if you need to put sour cream on everything, you've lost the sauce. the service was alright but one of the waiters almost threw my plate on the floor, felt like that was uncalled for and rude. atmosphere is good though.

The interior decor and horse prop outside gave me the impression of a potentially great dining experience. My wife and I were promptly served and seated. My expectation was to enjoy Mexican food. Nothing could have been further. First, there no chile in the chile. How can you have Mexican food with no chile? Fail. I order the super burrito. It was far from super. The shredded beef tasted like it was boiled in water. No flavor whatsoever. The beens taisted like they came out of a can. No flavor again. Fail. The rice was comical. No spices used whatsoever. I may as well have ordered white rice with no salt. Awful. The music was a fail. Too loud. Who plays country music in a Mexican restaurant? FAIL. The service however was outstanding. Too bad the rest was a complete disappointment.

Called for an order of rice and beans to go…. Charge was 10.95 for both as quart…. Both was low warm the cheese on the beans wasn’t even melted because that’s how under warm it was. The rice was same temperature and was even filled up. The total price was 24.14 and that’s the quality of food and service I get…. Wow

I ordered 2 burritos carne asada, beans and rice only. In addition, 2 tacos only carne asada no onions/cilanto. I repeat the order. When i arrives to pick up my order i repeat to the hostess. When i arrived home, all the sides were in one container!!?? The burrito i ordered was like 3x smaller than what i odered and the taco was together not in its own container. I did not order a small burrito with rice and beans outside my burrito. My kids were not happy with this order as we ALWAYS order this way.
