Chicken N Shakes

Had the spicy chicken sandwich meal, great deal for just under $10. Took a little bit for them to make it fresh but the chicken was perfectly cooked and I felt the spice level was just right. Bun was nicely toasted and it was a tasty meal. Fries are hand cut and I’d put them on par with five guys. Will be back.

Chicken N Shakes is one of the cleanest, healthiest, best tasting restaurants in Queens! The service is great and the staff are very polite and most importantly the price is right! I will definitely be here more often with family and friends to enjoy more good food!

Checked out the place during Halal Week and was able get the two sandwich and fries deal for $10 Sandwiches ordered: - Spicy Chicken Sandwich - Shredded Bird Both sandwiches were excellent. The spicy chicken sandwich is definitely a top three contender for the best chicken sandwich in NYC. It is rightly sized, with the perfect crisp and kicker sauce.

Chicken batter and french fry seasoning are very good. Chicken cooked nicely and minimal bones are given. Sauces are really good. Great service over the phone. BBQ sandwich was really good. Nice portions. Nice packaging.

We tried the shredded bird sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich, original chicken sandwich, buffalo wings, and fried chicken wings. Everything was great! The fried chicken wings were my favorite part. Really crispy outside and juicy inside. If you're in the mood for fried chicken, give this place a try. You won't regret it.

Best fried chicken I have ever had in my life! Chicken is so juicy and tender and flavorful. Also $17 for 15 pieces is very generous and each piece is big. Will go back when I will be in this area next time.

Chicken and shakes has to be one of the best places to satisfy your need for comfort food. Many people only get burgers but the hidden gems are the rice platters. Rice with beans topped off with fried chicken, covered with their special sauce is one of the best platters I’ve had so far at any food joint ever. I would also recommend their signature rose cake if you have a sweet tooth like me. The staff is really cool and seem down to earth. Overall great experience and I would recommend everyone to go here for good quality halal food.

Just finished a take out order from here. Food was surprisingly good. Buffalo wings were pretty good but watch out, mild was pretty spicy. The regular whole wings reminded me of Dallas BBQ Texas wings but more flavorful and a little smaller. The fries felt similar to Five Guys fries, which I enjoy. The only minor complaint I had was that the cole slaw was a little bland. Overall, we were happy with the quality and taste of the food. Great that they are so close.

The peanut brownie shake has actual chunks of brownies and has a really nice touch of peanut butter. I also got the strawberry shortcake shake which also includes chunks of strawberry. Both signature shakes are amazing and are the perfect amount of sweetness. Although it is on the pricier end for shakes given the size, I would say the shakes are off the roof and better than Shake Shack’s shakes! As for their Cool Chic Chicken Sandwich, it is potentially better than Popeye’s. I will definitely be returning for more chicken sandwiches and shakes!

Highly recommended! They offer both fried and grilled options when it comes to chicken. This was my 2nd visit this week and this time we tried the burgers and shakes, which were top quality. They have 8 different sauces and I had the pleasure to try them all. I do recommend ordering ahead for the grilled chicken because it takes half an hour, but it's totally worth the wait. I look forward to trying more of their items.

Been there three times now getting the spicy chicken sandwich. There's no doubt the sandwiches are great, but the wait times have been inconsistent. One time, it was quick and easy, five or so minutes. The next, just for a single sandwich, was a 20 minute wait. That was not ideal. Order ahead if you can.

Follow-up (3 weeks later): We visited again during the 12-3pm lunch time special to chow down on our contender for best chicken sandwich in the area. The owners we had met previously were not present at the store but we didn't expect anything different. We were rushed by the cashier to order to order "within 2 minutes" to get the lunch pricing, which is not courteous nor common good-patron practice. Against our best intentions to keep our experience positive, we were disappointed to see the chicken of our four orders of Spicy Chicken Sandwiches to be noticeably smaller. The fries still delivered on their taste and the wings were soggier but still tasty start-to-finish. We enjoyed the balanced flavor and sweetness of the Salted Caramel Pretzel shake as well, but preparing it 20 minutes before our takeout order was complete meant it wasn't as cold nor as thick. Chicken N Shakes may have one of the best chicken sandwiches we've tried, but this lackluster experience just weeks after our mind-blowing first visit will keep us at bay for a while. We couldn't ignore the Shake Shack appearance and Halal sign, so we had to walk-in to Chicken N Shakes. We met the management of the restaurant who were quick to recommend their bestsellers, including the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Given our experience eating Popeyes Canada's New Spicy Chicken, we couldn't help but draw the striking resemblance. Juicy chicken, crunchy exterior and pickle-mayo toppings made our first experience wonderful. We sprung for the Hot BBQ Wings which did a great job of keeping things on the spicer side while still finishing sweet. The Regular and Sweet Potato fries were both freshly-fried just like the other items we enjoyed, and the Chicker sauce gave us a nice twist on the classic garlic mayo flavor profile. Undoubtedly, Chicken N Shakes is one of the best representations of a Halal fried chicken joint in Queens and we're eager to chow down again.

The fries were ok, the Mac and cheese was not bad. The sides were tasty but nothing special. The burgers are where these people rock. The pulled chicken sandwich was probably the most unique taste ever. The sauces were very nice too, try them all.

It's a pretty quiet, unassuming place. Unfortunately when we went there the soda machine was broken, but they have canned and bottled drinks. The food took just over 20 minutes to cook. We got a burrito and the buffalo chicken sandwich. We were told that just after we ordered, so I admit I was a little disappointed. When the food came, both meals were really good. However, they are extremely messy. I wish we had wet wipes to clean up afterwards. I would go there again if I was in the area, but it's not a place I would travel to.

Aug 2024: Name changed but menu seems to be the same. I have only ordered on Uber Eats in the past. I was walking by and decided to get something. I got the large Mac and cheese bowl and an order of fries. The bowl was tasty. However, I wasn't informed it had fries inside. I would have asked for it to be removed. July 2023: I ordered from them again on Uber Eats today July 29. This time, I got the fish sandwich. It was way too much tartar sauce on both sides of buns, to much lettuces which ended up being soggy. Did not even eat all of the bun cause it was way too much sauce. One of the fish sandwiches was slightly overcooked. I left them a note on Uber Eats about my order from June 2. The right thing would of been to give me a call or even send in the rice and beans vs ignoring my note. Food quality and customer service needs to improve. My first time ordering from Chicken N Shakes was June 1, 2022 through Uber Eats. The grilled chicken sandwich was so fresh and tasty. The onion rings were not soggy. The cookies and cream shake was nothing special. I ordered again on June 2 as I had an Uber Eats coupon. I ordered rice and beans and the grilled chicken sandwich again. The sandwich this time, the chicken was overcooked. I received plain white rice. The restaurant should of called to inform me they did not have what I ordered vs sending me plain rice. I can easily make white rice but their rice and beans pic looked really good. I contacted Uber Eats and they told me they cannot refund me due to having previous refunds. Not sure what my refunds with other restaurants has to do with my issue with Chicken N Shakes. I emailed Chicken N Shakes and yet to hear a responses.

Soggy and tasteless fries and the chicken sandwich bread smells old. Try to improve the quality.

My friends and I dropped over a 100$+ and our food was served extremely late. One of the employees told my friends and I to lower our voices as we were joking. We wanted to be respectful and accommodate others so we waited in the car. The main issue is that we waited over 50 minutes and two main items were missing from our order. Chicken was greasy, burnt, and drenched in oil. Breading on the chicken was burnt. Nothing good to say about the food or the service. Mac & cheese was processed Kraft cheese. Unremarkable experience. Go to the hibachi spot next door instead!

A couple of friends and I decided to try this spot. Since it’s only a couple minutes from our place. We came and ordered at the shop around 8:10-8:15pm. It is currently 9:15as Iam typing this out. An hour has gone by and I am still here waiting for food. I seen others come after we have made the order leave already. I haven’t tried the food but we shouldn’t be waiting over an hour for food. I give 1 star cause of the service. The cashier was nice she held it together even though it’s busy. But waiting over an hour really kills it for me. The cook came out and told us a few more minutes but about 10 plus minutes has gone by now. Will update about the food when I actually get it.

Poor customer service. 1st time ordering from here and it will be my last. They forgot an entire meal, 2 drinks and messed up another meal. I had to give my food to my husband and 3yo, while I sat there hungry. When I called to complain they offered me a free sandwich on my next order. They do not pay attention to orders, a refund from grubhub was not good enough.

I decided to Uber eats from here. They completely messed up my ordered. I called them to inform them because I assumed I got someone else’s order. Turns out they proceeded to go forward with my ordered even though they ran out of what I wanted. The right think would have been to cancel my order. Nonetheless, the quality of the grill chicken was horrible as well. Very disappointed.

Ok.. where to begin.. this place was open like a garage. Not a resturant. Upon entering we felt like stepping inside the "Krusty Crab", because the cashier had the hospitality of a Squidward. No smile! It was our first time.. she was facing the wall behind and asked do you know what you want. We said we need a few minutes. She had a very bad attitude as if she hated her job and didn't want to be there. Anyway, she took our order( rudely) by asking what else ? That's it ? We sat down anyway coz we were fasting and it was past iftar time. Food took about 20mins to come.. it was given in a to go bag. I thanked her, but again she didn't smile.. no eye contact.. nothing but just a "hmmm hmmm" As the food is concerned, we rate it 4/10. It was soggy, filled with oil.. fries and fried chicken. No flavor, no salt or spice in the spicy chicken sandwich. As we were eating we looked at this place's rating and saw one review about the exact behavior we experienced about the RUDE customer service and oily soggy food. The place smelled like as if something was rotting there soooo bad. Overall rating: 1/10 Food: 4/10 Customer service: 0/10 Will never return or suggest to anyone!! There are many other halaal burger and fried chicken places with sooo much better food and service. We ended up here as we were walking by it and it was almost iftar time. VERY DISAPPOINTING experience😑👎🏻

I ordered 6 spicy chicken sandwiches and some Fries. Sandwiches were cold. When I placed an order they said it will be ready in 20 minutes, I got there in 10. It feels like they were made hrs ago 😕. Killed the whole taste. I spend over $50. Such a disappointment.

There was no line, nor was it busy (just myself and my co-worker there at the time) so I'm confused as to why she came off like this. Clearly, Chicken N Shakes does not care about keeping their customers coming back. I decided to try something new for lunch and this restaurant seem like a good choice but after getting my food I regret even spending my money here. The fries were wayyyy too oily to the point that the oil made the fries super soggy and we could not eat it. I tried a few fries when we left the store and I thought they fries were soggy because they began to sweat in the bag but not it was OIL. My coworker and I ended up throwing them out because you can't eat it. As you can see from the photos and video every fry I picked up, oil. I haven't even tried the chicken sandwich, probably won't. Do I recommend this restaurant? Nope.

We wanted to be respectful and accommodate others so we waited in the car. The main issue is that we waited over 50 minutes and two main items were missing from our order. Chicken was greasy, burnt, and drenched in oil. Breading on the chicken was burnt. Nothing good to say about the food or the service. Mac & cheese was processed Kraft cheese. Unremarkable experience. Go to the hibachi spot next door instead!
