I visited "The Howling Wolf" recently since it just recently opened. Conveniently located next to a B of A atm it was hiding right in front of me in plain sight. Parking lot was pretty full so I parked across Olive st at a dollar store. As I approached I was greeted by the doorman , who checked my I.D. and No Cover Charge. As I walked in the hand tiled entry I found a beautifully designed interior that is like no other. Blues memorabilia mixed with local iconic pictures and artifacts. Each saying it's 1,000 words. Then a racing motorcycle made the clever centerpiece. I ordered an "Ol Fashion" that was perfectly served. Service is pretty fast but took a little bit when it got busier. The Music began with a live band that kept with the blues format. Quickly I noticed how unloud it was. I could talk without telling . Furthermore the sound was excellent.The stage design was art deco done by hand creating the perfect backdrop. I felt like I was in a movie. I found another gem and couldn't wait to share it . Prices are upscale but reasonable considering the ambiance. $10-$13 for a well presented drink. Everything you want for date night or getting together with good friends.

Watched our friend Trey play here and really loved the vibe. Only thing I found odd about this place is that they charge you the drinks before you even get them 🤨

I walked in tonight and an employee named Luis Torres had a bad day because he to close the shop and had an episodic panic attack and stated shaking because I took the wireless card reader off the counter to pay. And like being aggressive to me for no reason at all. Then he cursed me out and started using fowl language. 0 stars. Please have him removed. Im going to me n ed.

I recently tried a New York-style pizza from this spot, ordering both a cheese and a pepperoni pizza, and I was seriously impressed. The crust was perfectly thin and foldable with just the right amount of crisp, the sauce had a great balance of tang and sweetness, and the cheese was rich and gooey. The pepperoni had that classic curl with crispy edges, adding the perfect savory kick. Not only was the pizza top-notch, but the service was also incredibly quick. From ordering to receiving my food, the wait time was minimal. On top of that, their customer service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. If you're looking for authentic New York-style pizza with great flavors and fast, friendly service, this place is definitely worth checking out!

This place was great! We got the Pepperoni Sausage Sandwich and it was delicious 🤤. The man that works there gave great suggestions of places to visit and events that happen throughout the week. I absolutely would come back here again when I find myself in California. 😎 Come and try it out! 😃

I’ll start like this…. The pizza here is not like most pizza places. They have that crunch I love and miss at the same time. This is my first time trying the pizza here and Ive been to a lot of pizza parlors in the Central Valley. I still can’t believe they are in tower and I have never tried them out. So delicious I will 100% tell and bring everyone I’m with in tower here. Ok I need to eat the rest now. Bye

Pizza so big it doesn't fit in the box. Pizza has old school taste reminds me of slices from New York. MY go to place any time I go to strummers. Crispy crust and very thin. Check em out. Grab a combo with soda. It's delicious.

Great place to grab a big slice of pizza. I didn't try the hot dogs, but from the menu they looks yummy. Have seats outside. (December 2021) I revisited this place after a day at the Zoo and I vouch for this place again. It’s the best place to get the New York style pizza. We ordered the familiar size pepperoni and we were not disappointed. Slices are huge and pizza have great flavor.

Can’t believe I grew up here and this is my first time having Richie’s pizza. WHO would of thought that I’d find my pizza place right in my home town. This is my type of pie. I got a cheese slice, hot, crispy crust, and little to no oil underneath. My new place for a slice for sure. In addition, part of enjoying food is also the experience. I spoke to Danny, one of the owners, who you can just see how much he loves his customers and just life. Base on our conversation, he just wants to take care of people and spread joy. Those best kind of people in my book. Will definitely recommend to all.

I always try to stop here for a quick slice and a soda whenever I see a concert at Tower Theater. It's a good price and good flavor. If you order by the slice it is of course reheated, but it doesn't change that it tastes good. I'm just thinking I need to order a whole pizza fresh one of these days. I don't doubt it'll be even better.

The pizza was prepared quickly, allowing us to explore the nearby area. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The slices are generously sized – our full pizza box easily fed 5 people.

As a person who often goes on solo excursions, unfortunately I can’t give Howlin Wolf all of the props. When I’ve come here with friends, I’ve found the service to be a bit quicker and more gracious. When I’ve come by myself, I’ve waited anywhere from 15-25 minutes to be acknowledged at the bar, and that too only when I work up the courage to say something. It’s not necessarily that I’m afraid to speak up, but I’m hyper vigilant about how I interact with those that work within the service industry so I have a hard time asking for attention versus waiting what I think is my turn. I’ve been seated solo at the bar and experienced multiple groups after me be served before I’m noticed. I’m not sure why that is, but I do like Howlin Wolf for their guest musicians, their general ambiance, their creative Instagram posts, and the drinks (superb). And I do have to mention the staff have never been overtly rude - in fact when I do interact with the staff they seem really knowledgeable and I don’t feel a bad vibe, but sometimes at least in my experience it takes a while to be acknowledged. This is a place I’ll definitely keep trying! It’s absolutely worth giving a shot!

It says $7.50 per slice but it ended up costing nearly $10 per slice(30 dollars for three NYXL slices? Come on, this is Fresno! GeeeeeWiz!!! The atmosphere isn't that great. It would be nice if they could give their outdoor eating area some plant life or some kind of element of wonderment!

I get where it's at and hanging out is good, but when your high and drunk and making food. That is not for me. Others may love it. But the pizza was already made and sitting then warmed up. It didn't taste as good as people were telling me it is. We ordered a full pizza, was told 15 minutes, it was ready in less than 5. I seen all the pizza sitting on trays already made we were told they don't make full pizzas that time of night, but would make it for me. We were good with that, but it was not freshly made as he said. Definitely good if your hanging out in tower clubin and want pizza. For me I drove across town was not worth the drive.

I thought it would be as good as what people say but I personally did not like it. I do like that it's big but it lacks a lot of flavors. I love pizza and this just wasn't for me. It's so big that I almost fell like my pizza wasn't fully cooked. The dough was too thin for me too.

New customer here. Second time ordering a whole pie. First time, pizza and service were great. Decided to order a whole pie today on our lunch break. Ordered ahead to make sure we could enjoy on our break. Was told 15 minutes. Awesome! I still didn’t get there for 25 minutes. Guess what? They hadn’t even made our pizza. Had to wait. Seems they rushed it. Dough is undercooked. Toppings are cold. Was told by the guy that they used the bottom oven(?). We’ll see if we get sick. Unfortunately that makes new customers unhappy customers.

Tried 5 different times going by this place in past 2 weeks so I called ahead today to make sure they were open. Got 2 slices to go and got home and saw the pepperoni slice was burnt underneath. Been coming here past couple years about every other month but after new owners I assume this place has been hit but mostly miss as of late with this burnt slice and thur inconsistent hours being open. They use to have small tables to sit at and pizza slice and soda specials but don't. Also I ordered the spicy slice whole pizza a year ago for my coworkers and I to share and that flavor combo on the pizza was not good and that pizza was burnt also.
