Great food, eating with the Africa exhibit in the view was awesome also. Pizza was the best if you ask me.

This is the best place to eat inside of any Zoo I've ever been to. I recommend the pizzas and especially the fish tacos. Garlic fries are great too. They do serve beer and have a decent selection.

The Kopje Lodge is a very beautiful place to visit and eat. Great food even with Covid. The view is so calm & relaxing. Should be on your to do list.

It was nice and it had 2 big fire place areas to keep you warm under the Kopje Lodge and it overlooks the Rhinos and other animals like you're in the Savannah.

People complain about prices, but sodas are $4 and a pretty good pepperoni pizza the size to split with my 2 year old is only $13. Hard to find prices that reasonable at any other type of amusement park, let alone fast food now days.

Always stop here to eat out of the hot sun. They have a little more to offer here than the other ones. Free ice water helps a lot. Some people just don’t know how to clean up after themselves. Usually always half full. It’s always nice to watch the rhino, wildbeasts, elephants, antelope, ostrich while eating.

Majestic sounds of soaring eagles, a distant fart from a chubby unicorn, an ostrich with OCD, and too many ugly teenagers, but the food was really good, had a cheeseburger that tasted freshly grilled, cheesy pizza that did not disappoint, and a great atmosphere, highly recommend

They love the Mack & Cheese, but it can be alot more tasteful so adult can enjoy it also. 2 years ago when i frequently visit the zoo, i use to ask for the chicken salad sandwich to be made into a wrap, but i was inform that manager woulnt let them do it anymore! Sad but over all its great place to eat with your kids and make memories, but it can be very pricey for a family who lives in a budget.

We waited at least 20 minutes before being helped at the grill where this young man was alone less a fry cook who seemed to show up every 10 mins or so. Someone came from the back, into the station, talked to the young man, then left to the pizza station, then gave the cashier a break, then walked around some more before finally coming to the grill to help where there was a line of about 12 of us. We waited more than 30 mins for a burger, fries, and Mac n cheese bites. No one was hustling. No one was communicating. No one seemed to care. Then our tritip burger came with NACHO cheese on it. What? Who does that? I was just really surprised by this visit since they usually do a pretty good job. And no, it wasn't packed at the zoo, the area wasn't packed full of people either. Sharing this in the hopes management will see there needs to be some adjustment here.

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is one of my favorite spots in Fresno.. it is great to see all the improvements the zoo has undergone since my first visit over 20 years and how much nicer it has become every time I visit. Perhaps they would get more people to visit if their prices were not as outrageous especially at their restaurant. $12 for a cold bacon and avocado sandwich or $5 for a grilled cheese is a bit high for a subpar sandwich. I believe the view of the wonderful animals is supposed to offset the pinch at the register.
