Okay let's be honest here. Kids eat free on Tuesday with a PURCHASE of an Entree. That's one Hell of a deal especially when you got kids. And on top of that the orange chicken for the kids is way more than enough for the kid to eat and it comes with broccoli. The Koryo Beef is amazing don't get me wrong but ordering that without rice is a mistake. The sauce that is with the beef is very powerful but with some white rice, it's the perfect blend of deliciousness. Highly recommend a bowl of rice on the side for the Beef. Overall, it's a great place to eat and bring kids, also you can eat outside with heaters which makes dinner dates perfect. UPDATE: 2/6/2023 Came to eat with my 2 boys and wife for lunch and again still tastes great and the service was great PLUS Roxsi did an amazing job helping with my little sons mess even though we didn't ask. Thank you for helping. Forsure, if you are a parent and want somewhere nice to eat, here between 1pm -3pm is the place to be for peace and everything isn't too chaotic with everyone running around.
I’m new to the area and had Spicy J’s on my bucket list to try before I move again. I finally went the other night, and it did not disappoint! The food was so tasty and exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp, which came with steamed rice and soup. My boyfriend got the Chicken Fried Rice with extra garlic and spices. Both dishes were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The ambiance is beautiful, creating a cozy yet elevated dining experience, and the service was quick and friendly. The portions are generous and definitely shareable—we even had leftovers, which reheated wonderfully the next day! If you’re looking for delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Spicy J’s is a must-try. Highly recommend!
quite delicious in terms of food, i got the shrimp. The music choice however was incredibly bizarre. I was there on Saturday and the piano and violin music was more apt for a situation in which the Pink Panther may creep around the corner at any moment and swipe my dish. Seriously a cartoonish soundtrack for the meal lol. Delicious food, great service, strange strange music 😅
The food is always great here, but if you’re lucky enough to have Grace as your server that always make the experience that much better. She is always attentive and friendly, and she always goes the extra mile! She suggested joining the monthly membership and showed us the savings we would receive for the food we ordered if we joined. We give this business repeat business because of the service, thank you!
Tasty food and fantastic service! Our server, Ling, was very helpful and patient with us. The lunch special is an amazing deal and the quantities were super generous. The lunch deal is amazing. We got three entrees with sides for under $40. I recommend the spicy orange chicken as it had a lot sweetness and heat. The hot and sour soup also had a ton of flavor without being overpoweringly sour. My wife liked the cashew chicken because it was salty and savory, great with the black rice. We haven’t seen this offered since we lived in Korea and it looks frightening, but is nice and sticky with maybe a stronger barley flavor.
Manny was our server and he was amazing. Very kind, attentive, and funny. The food was great too but Manny made our experience extra special. Highly recommend!!
Amazing place to get food. I also have a shell fish allergy which makes me nervous to go certain places that serve it. But this was no issue. Great food for great price.
I’m officially a fan! I’ve been here about three times now. I went to the soft opening and I came around Dec 2022 and I’m not going to lie, I was not impressed. BUT I came back recently in January 2023 (because I won a gift card for leaving a review in December) and let me tell you- I was blown away at how delicious everything was! I came with my sisters and friends and tried a bunch of stuff. My personal favorites and the reason I came to spicy J in the first place is the Szechuan they use in their food, it’s spicy but not spicy and it makes your mouth numb. The Szechuan won tons, chicken and eggplant were so good! This is where I’ve had the best kung pao chicken, I usually don’t care for kung pao but this one is so good. I tried their vinegar pork ribs and I loved it too. For vegetarians I totally recommend the tempura fries, eggplants, and for the appetizer I love the salad. It was my sisters birthday and they brought out a gong and they sang happy birthday in Cantonese. They brought out a fried banana egg roll dessert to share and it was delicious. (And free) lol then they let her hit the gong for luck and prosperity. There were a couple more plates I forgot to take a picture of and it was too late because we tore it up but I tried to upload as much as I could. I can officially say I love this place and I am ready to go back.
The spicy beef dish was delicious! Other two dishes were great. I love the peanut sauce on their side salad! The mini pork buns we ordered looked more like dim sum dumplings. Not sure if we got incorrect order or not (first time here). Service was good, had to wait for someone to take our drink order, seemed understaffed. Looked like the bartender was seating customers, taking orders, and making drinks. There was probably one other waitress. It was cold because we sat between front entrance/bar/ kitchen. There were better seats but she offered us this table. Didn't realize it was so cold (from customers entering and exiting establishment) until we sat down. Didn't move tables because we got lazy and just decided to stay there. Find a way to get it so that when the front door is opening, its not blowing so hard into the dining area. 🥶 Overall a good meal and great experience! I enjoyed the szechuan chicken poppers. Love szechuan taste! yummy. Thanks!
The food was amazing, appetizer was seafood shumai and honey walnut shrimp, both had amazing flavor texture and portioned very well, the presentation of the dishes was phenomenal. For main course had the fujian sticky fried rice with added seafood, a very present and enjoyable mix of rice and seafood, great taste. The spicy koryo pork belly was full of flavor great texture and had a hint of garlic but wasn't overpowering the pork belly flavor but did give it a very fine spice to it, overall great rich flavor. Last dish was spare ribs in sweet vinegar sauce, the glaze and texture paired very well with a red lotus drink, for desert a deep fried cheese cake with a drizzle of caramel. Very sweet but yet satisfying. Overall great atmosphere good food an great service.
Tried this for the first time as I am passing through and it was absolutely incredible. Exceeded all my expectations! The lamb dry pot was delicious and flavorful. 辣子鸡was very crispy and tender. Eggplant was on point and the tofu was cooked to perfection. On top of everything, the server was very friendly and attentive!
Spicy J’s is our favorite Chinese restaurant in town. We love the food here, it is so good. Our go-to order is the chicken potstickers (see the last page of the menu for happy hour specials), spicy orange chicken (our favorite) that comes with salad and we upgrade to the sausage fried rice, and the Beijing chow mein with veggies and a salad. Their salad is so good, it has fresh fried won tons and a yummy dressing. We highly recommend Spicy J’s!
I was very happy with my experience at Spicy J’s. Our waitress Grace was very friendly and happy to our accommodate our requests: reduced spice levels for some dishes, and answering lots of questions. Our food was delicious especially the duck, eggplant, and salt and pepper eggplant. I highly recommend checking out Spicy J’s and make sure to ask for Grace to be your waitress you will be glad you did.
We love eating here, it's one of our favorite spots at River Park. Every time we come, the food is delicious, the service is great, and the wait isn't too bad. I totally recommend this place.
The food here is really good. The service is very friendly and people are nice. I liked their portion sizes. I would recommend taking a look at their authentic Chinese food menu, as it has some real gems. I would totally recommend it.
We celebrated Father's Day with authentic Chinese cuisine at Spicy J’s – a true delight for our taste buds! My fortune cookie held a familiar quote: “A problem clearly stated is a problem solved.” I instantly recalled it was from the legendary Charles Kettering of GM. What a pleasant surprise!
Great restaurant with delicious food. The price is very reasonable. Very popular. Better to reserve a spot before getting there.
Why not 5 stars! Freaking crazy good for the price and atmosphere. OMG good and flavorful. Keep it up.
This place is so yummy everything came out hot and fresh. We had a 15 minute wait, which wasn’t bad at all. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We had the crab and avocado spring rolls for our appetizer. They were amazing! I could of had them as a meal. Then we had Singapore chow Mei fun with a salad. This was some of the best chow mei fun I’ve ever had, the rice noodles and Curry made it perfect. Then we had the orange chicken with hot and sour soup with pan fried noodles. I was shocked by how good the orange chicken was, normally I stay away from it but it was great. The hot and sour soup here is the best I’ve ever had, lot of yummy flavor. 10/10 would recommend!
Absolutely amazing atmosphere. Our waitress was so kind and attentive, and even the owner was very interactive with the guests. The food was amazing and fulfilling. You definitely get way more than you pay for, which, for me, is a good thing, lol. This is our third time here, and we will definitely be back.
Great lunch! Had soup dumplings and chicken egg rolls as apps. Cashew chicken, Koryo beef, and BBQ pork spareribs as mains. All delicious! We will definitely be back! Meyes was a wonderful server as well! The interior is a little odd, but we didn't have to wait on a Saturday afternoon about 1pm, which was a huge plus especially since we were with my mom She very much enjoyed her meal too! Thanks for a great visit!

Great food, great service! We were served by Priscilla and she was very kind and attentive, it was our first time here so she explained everything was family size. We ordered the Szechuan Wontons and Honey Cashew Shrimp as appetizers and they were DELICIOUS! As our entrees we shared the Orange Chicken, the Black Pepper Steak, and the Garlic Chicken which complimented each other so well. The orange chicken had a great citrus flavor, the pepper steak had a smokey pepper flavor, and the garlic was mild but wasn’t lacking the garlic flavor!
It was our first time eating here. The service was great. Our waitress was very helpful by making recomendations that were very good. The food was excellent and the drinks were really good to. We had a Valentine's day early lunch. And really liked the place.
They have really good food, and I have been coming here for a while now. This last visit Jazper went out of his way to be personable and gave great service. Would highly recommend for large shared meals.
We were next door at Barrel House and ordered takeout which included Wonton soup. ALL of our 5 selections were HOT and ever so tasty. The soup stayed hot to the last drop. Beautiful fragrant food. You guys are the best. Thank you for your best every time we order!!
Chaney our waitress was amazing and so sweet! We absolutely love coming to Spicy J’s. Great atmosphere, service and food. One of our favorite restaurants in Fresno.
Today, we had Mario as our server, THANK YOU MARIO! AS USUAL, 10/10 service. We've had many different servers in our many visits, and they have all been excellent. We have never had any thing but outstanding service... We just get busy with life and forget to post how amazing the food and service is. Once you enjoy the food and service here... you'll never go anywhere else. OH! The kids eat free special?! Outstanding!

The food was alright not the best Chinese. Overpriced is what it is I got the surf and turf and it was good my wife got the seafood delight and it was flavorless lacked lots of seasoning on the shrimp lobster and veggies. The fried calamari was delicious though, Couldn't get enough of that one. The service was beyond great she did her part in making sure all was well and was quick with the refills. I'd go again but try something else. 6.5/10
Out of the three orders that I made, the Beef Noodle Soup was the only one that has flavor. The Wontons In Chili Oil was bland but the wontons were delicious by itself. This dish had too much oil so it ruined the flavor. Maybe throw in a bit of dumpling sauce into it to give it more flavor and reduce the oil. The Dan Dan Noodles were DRY..... They did not put in enough sauce. Thankfully, I have plenty of oil from the wonton to help give it some colors, but eventually I left it as a side of extra noodles for the soup instead. In the end, I literally threw everything into the noodle soup because the other two were very disappointing. The noodle soup really saved the restaurant. Although I was thinking of 3/5 rating, I gave them a 4 for the exceptional service on a busy Friday. They had a full house! I wouldn't go here again though, but I do recommend people to take a look because the price were amazing!
I thought this place was pretty good. I'm not a huge chimeese food fan but I really enjoyed my meal. We came in here kind of randomly last night when we were at the farmers market. We were sat quickly and didn't have to wait very long for our food and the server was super friendly and helpful. We started out with the Is cream cheese wantons and i had the Mongolian beef and my wife had the Cashew shrimp both meals and the appetizer were really good. I'd definitely come back here again and I think you should to :)
Food is good here. Not the most authentic but it has its unique and familiar Szechuan taste. I do not recommend the Szechuan Boiled Fish here; its bland. But the wonton in chili oil, roasted cauliflower, and twice cooked pork are good. There is a fried fish dish that I've yet to try. I'll go elsewhere for the Szechuan Boiled fish. The service was good but a bit slow; we were there for lunch.
Good flavor. Decent proportions. Good service. The food was a little slow to come out to the tables. Was worth the wait
While not Dai Ba Dang, the food is good. I really liked my food and my son enjoyed his. We ordered the avocado rolls as an appetizer, but they didn't arrive until well after our lunch did... I wonder if they understand the meaning of an appetizers. The place itself just does not work for me; the decor is like a mishmash of things but I guess as long as you don't look around and focus on your food you will be alright. Bathrooms need some work.

This is solely in my experience. I came to chill while waiting for fam. They were busy. I wasn’t pushy and sat down by the bar. Kaitlyn forgot i existed and after Colton the bartender noticed me, she ran through the menu and walk away. Colton was chill, just order a drink. Drink was good. Overall the interaction could have been more pleasurable but something stress gets the best of us.. got to give Colton an A+ for customer service and Kaitlyn a c-..
Tried the honey cashew shrimp, teriyaki chicken and crispy bun. It was ok. Flavors are a bit on the lighter side so if you dont want overwhelming flavors then it's good for beginners. I like that the honey shrimp has a crunchy texture to it. The crispy bun was a little dry and not fluffy.

I went to Spicy J’s for my sister’s birthday. The service was great, although the water never got refilled at all. The food portions were small and honestly pretty lackluster. I ordered the Shenzhen dan dan noodles, which were listed as having pork, but in reality it was just lightly sprinkled on top. The flavor was really creamy, which didn’t match well with the Shenzhen peppercorn mala spice. Most of the other dishes were also bland and underwhelming. Honestly, it tasted no different than some hole-in-the-wall Chinese joint… and to be real, I’d actually prefer that food experience. The ambiance itself was nice definitely the loudest place I’ve ever eaten, but I like lively environments, so that part was actually enjoyable. It’s just disappointing when the food doesn’t match the vibe. Nonetheless, the service was good.

I have always had a great experience here and often bring my guests here, but on 10/11 which was my wife’s birthday, I had a discussion with my server Courtney to acknowledge her birthday. My server did not do what we agreed on, and charged a group gratuity. My server gave terrible service and did not deserve any tip from me, I have eaten here for years and this was the worse experience I’ve had and my wife did not get the service she deserved on her birthday.
I do NOT recommend Spicy J's. I ordered the Tea Smoked Crispy Duck with salad / chow mein. Dry is the only word that comes to mind regarding this meal. Dry duck, dry rolls... Dry Dry Dry. I was expecting a crispy skin duck with juicy meat, but all I received was a duck that tasted more like an over baked, air fried chicken. As far as the price goes, this meal should have been $18 (according to their website), but my bill reflected $21. I brought the price discrepancy to my server expecting the $18 price to be honored, but she apologized and told me they haven't updated their website with the current prices. BUYER BEWARE! This was a terrible meal experience from the first bite to payment.
It's like really bad processed Chinese food. My dumplings, called small pork buns, (were basically steamed dumplings) had a weird puree meat inside and felt like mushy bread in my mouth. Seshuan dumplings were good. Fried calamari was small and just tasted like breading. Our sake had a small mosquito in it. Didn't seem like they rinsed the jar. Our server was nice, though. Shrimp shumai also tasted pureed. Crab avocado egg rolls were okay. Felt really sick afterwards 🤢
When we arrived and noticed the patio almost empty. There were four of us. The wait was about 45 minutes in the main dinning. We opted to the outside patio, cause the wait was 10 minutes. All four of us waited at the bar. Even though our wait was about 20 minutes, the bartender never offered us drinks or menus. We asked the bartender for menus and were never asked to order. About 20 minutes of waiting we asked our host if the patio table was available. Two minutes later he seated us. The entire patio was empty so if we hadn't asked who knows how long we would have waited. We sat out there for about 10 minutes and no one came to check on us or take our order. So we left and went to 5 guys. This place is horrendous!
atmosphere amazing, i felt happy there werent any people, felt good to be alone at a fancy place. food was edible, i asked for salad .. it was not bad, i asked for a specific soup .. once i got it to go and scanned it at that house, they set me up with whatever pasta, noodles they found around, meat was rather strange, i guess that s how the chinese prep it up plasticy, taste was edible. for sure i d eat it again when im starving. in the mean time, i stay away from that Spicy Js place to avoid any food comfusion. i guess the chinese treat ,cater well eachother with best ingredients, not so much for the foreigners.
I used you love eating at Spicy J's before. The host was very nice. Our waitress Grace Y. was terrible. We sat down she served us our drinks and expected us to know what we wanted to eat in 5 minutes. Had an attitude when she came back to take our order. We got our food and the quality of the food was terrible. Black rice was mushy, Chicken chow fun dish had hardly no chicken, but lots of purple onions and bean sprouts that had leaves growing out of them and possible mold. The Chicken basil stir fry was slimy and the green onions were disgusting because it also had a slimy texture. Not once did the waitress came by to check on us. She left for the day without letting us know that we would have a different waiter or waitress. Finally two different waiters came and checked on us. Very unprofessional. I don't know what happened to this place? Maybe change of ownership or management. So sad that this place has declined in service. This restaurant has lost my business. I don't recommend this place.
