Delightful small spot with good decor. Ordered a risotto, cold soba, takoyaki, and just a small sample of sushi. The food is definitely high quality and had a light and subtle taste. I was surprised that the restaurant didn't try to saturate the flavors and keep it authentic. The portion sizes are perfect too. Everything feels authentic and couldn't be more happy to see cold soba offered.
Very authentic, super calm. It’s rare to find a true Japanese sushi place staffed and run by Japanese people. How wonderful! Fresh and delicious fish and good service. Nice atmosphere.
amazing hidden gem. we got the broiled salmon and yellowtail cheek, and broiled mackerel and they were delicious. never had fish taste so flavorful but not overwhelming. the fatty tuna was AMAZING. the house sake paired well with everything. we finished with the yuzu cheesecake which we loved. my only complaint is the rice and raw salmon weren’t the best. everything was still so delicious. staff was friendly and welcoming. i will definitely be back to try more of their cooked fish! thank you for the night :)
Amazing! Totally authentic Japanese restaurant ! I am so lucky that I can find such a great Japanese restaurant! I drove here from Austin, and the dinner was awesome! I stayed in Dallas for only two days, and I came to this restaurant every day! No matter the food or the service, this is the best real Japanese restaurant in town!
Wow ! This place is legit. I can’t believe it’s been here all this time and never been! I think it’s owned and operated by a Japanese family. We got clams, sea bass, sesame spinach, and a bunch of handrails. Everything was incredible .be prepared to have a longer meal: this place is small and everything is made to order. I’m definitely coming back to try the omakase. Not as fancy but rivals Kinzo.
Excellent Japanese cuisine. Authentic food, with Japanese staff and anyone who has been to Japan know what kind of customer service you will find there. Well, you will find it here. Had the Sukiyaki, my Wife had the cold soba with tempura. We will definitely be back. Oishii!
Excellent skillful Japanese cook, he has such amazing knowledge to make everything taste amazing. Well, to be honest, good food can only take some time to get ready, be aware it is not fast food. It is very normal to take more time than other restaurant, because the cook won’t allow the speed ruin the most beautiful food, it is the basic respect for their customers, if you want to enjoy the authentic Japanese style food, this one can be the best. Please don’t use other American-Japanese style food compare with this one, that is not even fair. This is totally another level, another much higher, you may gain find happiness from the food.
Quaint little Japanese owned and run place. Close to your local Japanese restaurant you can get. Very good menu and service.
Great food from a family owned Japanese restaurant. High attention to detail on presentation. The food was fresh and served at the right temperature. Not extravagant but good quality food. I will visit again.
Lunch was very reasonably priced, from $8 noodles to $20 sushi combo. Pork cutlet meal was $15. Comes with chawanmushi, egg based steamed dish. The flan for dessert was really good, not too sweet.
All I can say is wow. The food and service is amazing, from drinks to main courses. Serving sizes are perfect and perfectly cooked, with the flavors ranging from sublime to delicious. Each dish feels so carefully crafted and cooked, so that no item seems carelessly prepared. If you’re looking for a meal to capture Japanese food, eat here so you won’t have to continue your search. We tried soba, broiled salmon, eel, sushi, chawanmushi, tempura shrimp, and burdock root. All were cooked expertly and enjoyed tremendously.

Delicious, fresh food and very nice food presentation. The chef is friendly as well.
HIDDEN GEM. Authentic!!! Legitimate Japanese place with legitimate Japanese dishes, staff, and so on. It’s astonishingly delicious, and I’ve been to Japan four times. There is not a bad thing on the menu.
A HIDDEN GEM!! I absolutely love it here. Authentic Japanese cuisine, very small intimate seating & atmosphere. The sweetest staff… the food is incredible and service is personable. They also have a great omakase you’ll need to notify ahead of time definitely recommend if you’re not familiar with what to order.

Bottom line: Absolutely outstanding food and experience. If you are looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, and the wide variety of choices that accompanies it, look no further. This place is legit. If you love sushi but are new to more authentic Japanese cuisine, just start here by ordering a variety of sashimi and various tempura dishes - you can’t go wrong! Expand your pallet from there… Great food!!!
Best one so far around Frisco, prefect bite and excellent sashimi.

Today I tried them out for the 1st time. I was surprised that their sushi prices were that high ($9/2 salmon, $10./2 yellowtail). I knew Kotta Sushi across the street was cheaper and top notch but had to see how EnJC compared. The cuts were much smaller than Kotta's and prices were higher, so I was not impressed. There was nobody in the place at prime dinner time and both the Chef or Waitress struggled with english. After 2 samples EnJC I wrapped up and decided to go to Kotta to order the same samples at Kotta. The actual prices for the same sushi at Kotta were ($7.75/2 salmon, $8.50/2 yellowtail) and the cuts were significantly bigger. Based on that I was re-assured that Kotta Sushi was better all around with service, atmosphere, price, quality and quantity. The food at EnCJ is definitely decent and eatible, but not a great vibe from the atmosphere and staff, as well as the to high pricing for too little quantity. Can't recommend! See Kotta Sushi cuts and compare to your EnCJ cuts, and Kotta receipt attached also.

Wanted to like but very expensive and not worth the price for amount of food -Sashimi, Tempura. Sukiyaki was extremely salty. Chawanmushi had no flavor. Some of the tempura fish was not fresh. Sadly, only authentic place with decent food is Sushi Sake... The only saving grace was the waitress. She was great.

Food is not worth the price. The owner mistreats staff and abuses the tipping system. Maybe there is a financial issue going on?
