Went for my father in-law's 80th birthday. None of us had been before and all four of us were blown away. Mimi was an amazing waitress. She was on point with everything. The food was incredible. We frequently go to Embers for celebrations but honestly this was leaps and bounds better. Everything from the atmosphere to the food was just outstanding. Everyone but me ordered steak and they raved about how tender and delicious it was. I had the redfish and I'm still drooling over it. The manager (maybe gm?) was so kind and honestly very funny. I didn't catch his name. We will definitely be back again.
This is a cute restaurant and a very quaint shopping center that was decorated at Christmas time. The food was what would be expected for the price point that they are charging. I had the Blackened Redfish which was really excellent and my dining friend had a filet mignon which she stated tasted really good. We also had some really good desserts and the wine service was impeccable and moderately priced for this type of restaurant. Definitely great for dates and business meetings as well as family events because it was not too loud.
Our first experience. We had a few minute wait for a table and they bought our first round. Our amazing server/bartender extraordinaire Kelly made awesome suggestions on food, drinks, and oysters! Great atmosphere! Great drinks! Great food! And we loved Kelly! She even gave us recommendations on places to hike in the morning! Highly recommend!
We went to Pearl and Prime for our 2nd wedding anniversary, and since it was our first one together, it felt really special. The fine dining ambience was excellent – elegant and cozy, perfect for the occasion. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. Truly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it for special celebrations.
Every year I go here with one of my children for a special evening. It is always phenomenal. One year, I got a server who spent the evening trading riddles and jokes with my nine year old son. The last two times we have gotten the bar booth and had the same bartender serve us. She is quite awesome. She's busy making high-quality cocktails, so be patient if you're sat there, but it's worth it! The food is, in my experience, the best in town, and I've eaten at all the major restaurants. Redfish, filet, oysters Rockefeller, sides...all superb. But really it's the service. In the last month I have eaten here, Mark's and Embers, and this is BY FAR the best service I received. By. Far. I hope you go and enjoy yourself. Ask for a gin-basil-smash...absolutely delicious...
~ Update~ My family from VA came to visit so of course we came to best restaurant in Gainesville, Fl! Our server was Laleah and when I say she was amazing, competent, GREAT energy, knowledgeable and warm, I absolutely mean it. My father, mother, and Uncle who are well traveled stated this was some of the best selection of meats and aged to perfection! You need to visit and bring a friend so you can enjoy multiple dishes! -‐------------------- Ok so where do I start? Let me say in a short review... YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! I will be here EVERY month and wish they had a membership. Now for those that like a more detailed review here you go... The Oysters Rockefeller were absolutely divine—perfectly baked with a rich, savory topping that melted in your mouth. Each bite delivered a balance of creamy spinach, herbs, and the briny freshness of the oysters. It was easily one of the best renditions of the dish I’ve ever had. I actually had 2 orders because it was so divine!! My server, Alexus, was impressively attentive without being intrusive, anticipating our needs before we had to ask. Drink were never empty, and every course was timed flawlessly. Their warm demeanor and focus truly enhanced my dining experience. The professionalism from both the staff and the manager, Brian, on the floor was outstanding. Everyone moved with purpose and poise, creating a seamless and welcoming atmosphere. The manager made rounds to greet guests, showing a level of care that made ne feel valued. The lamb was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The seasoning brought out the natural richness of the meat without overpowering it. Every element on the plate complemented the lamb, making it a standout entrée. Meeting the chef, Mike, was a real highlight; his passion for the craft was evident in every word. He was humble, engaging, and took the time to have a little conversation. It was clear that his culinary excellence comes from both skill and heart. Lastly, the crème brûlée was absolutely divine—silky, luscious, and crowned with a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar top that shattered delicately with each spoonful. It was the ideal balance of sweetness and texture, leaving a lasting impression. The drinks were crafted to perfection—balanced, bold, and artfully presented, showcasing the bartender’s skill and creativity. Thank you to the whole team from check in, server, manger and chef! Alexus, Brian and Mike I look forward to seeing you all again!!
Prime and pearl is the perfect place for a celebratory dinner in GNV! The food is delicious and the servers are always so kind. We had initially asked about the amount of lobster claws that would come as an add on to our steak as a few of us were sharing. The waitress said it was usually between 2-4, but ended up accommodating our large party and gave 6! I would also recommend the oysters and bone-in ribeye!
Our family of 3 had a wonderful dinner. We started with a half dozen each of raw oysters, fire roasted oysters and Diablo oysters, all of which were fresh and absolutely delicious. For the entrees my husband went with the wild gulf blacked redfish topped with a crab beurre blanche sauce, our daughter enjoyed the chicken carbonara and I had a perfectly seared 16 oz ribeye cooked to perfection. We managed to save room for dessert this visit so we each tried something different. For me I couldn't resist the red velvet cheesecake, my husband had the largest slice of the most delicious lemon cake and our daughter is a creature of habit so she had to get the creme brulee. I highly recommend trying prime and pearl if you've never been here. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, the atmosphere and service is excellent as well.
Absolutely fantastic New Year’s Eve celebration. Our server Melanie was so much fun and extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The manger did a great job making sure he checked in and added a lovely touch to our evening. The food was delicious and my husband stated that his steak was quite possibly the best he has ever had. Highly recommend as a topnotch fine dining destination in Gainesville compared to their area competitors that we have tried. Well done!
This place was phenomenal. We didn’t have a reservation. However, the host made sure to see what she could do. Immediately, the manager found us a table. He asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, we were and told him it was our anniversary. He immediately said congrats and brought a hand written card and complimentary Champagne. Not only did the manager serve us, they had an assistant server that was always refilling the drinks. The waitress, Alexis was the best. She made the night. She was warm, informative and very friendly. Thank you for making our 27th anniversary great! Blessings, Ted Frazier 7:11/98-7/11/2025
This was a birthday experience. The food and the atmosphere could not have been better. The staff was kind, attentive, and heart warming. Stop in and enjoy a drink or two with some of their to die for bread and cinnamon blueberry bourbon butter.
We had a waitress and her name is Mimi. She was so awesome and very attentive. The food was so good. Awesome lobster mac and cheese. Delicious ribeye. Oyster Rockefeller was the best i had yet!
Wonderful experience here with my wife. We ordered steak and they were cooked perfectly the way we asked for. Will be dining here again. Have a great selection of wines and drinks to check out as well
We had a great visit at Prime and Pearl. They have the best popover bread and sweet butter, and their diablo oysters are delicious. We also ordered the redfish and ribeye, which were both fantastic and cooked to perfection. What really prompted me to leave a review was the top tier service. The manager came out to update us about our order and make sure everything came out to our liking. We really appreciated her professionalism, patience, and care to us and the other tables nearby.
Our first visit and we will be coming back! The waitress was very helpful explaining the menu and we took her suggestion on the oyster appetizer. She suggested the sample platter and helped to guide us on choosing three different kinds, all of which were delicious. We had the shrimp cocktail and then two of the best tasting entrées. My husband had the filet which was cooked perfectly and cut so easily. I chose the lamb and they were delectable. For dessert we had the Crème brûlée and coconut cream pie. All around amazing food and wonderful atmosphere!
We absolutely loved every dish we ordered! Specifically the filet, the lamb, and the ribeye!!! The only critique we had was that the bread served with the bruschetta was SO hard that it was hard to bite into and eat. Besides that everything was superb! We had two excellent bottles of wine as well. When we are able to splurge again, we will definitely return. The menu is priced VERY high, but we knew what we were getting into when we chose to go here for dinner. Expect to pay a few hundred dollars if you have more than two people. We also loved that we got to choose our own knife to use! Added an element of fun to it!!
I give them a 4.5. The food, presentation, host and wait service was excellent, impressive! Excellent wine selection and great bar options. It’s a good date night option, or a place for great dining, any occasion. Highly recommend and I will return.
Reserved a table online for 7:45p. Table wasn’t ready when we got there but we were offered to sit at the bar and the bartender was very nice. Finally sat down and our waiter Trace and his assistant Jack, I believe, were awesome. Trace explained the menu perfectly and we ordered the 40 Oz Tomahawk Ribeye, the Lamb Chops, Lobster Mac, Oyster Prime, and a few drinks. Everything tasted great but the Lamb Chops was on another level of good. I was just sad that it was only three. Will definitely be back for the Lamb Chops. The complimentary bread was that good to us but their fried cracker was good and went excellent with the oysters. We went to a “Ruth Chris Steakhouse” not to long ago and “Prime & Pearl” was significantly a better experience overall.
This was my first time coming to this establishment, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Everything tasted delicious. Though it is pricey, it is definitely worth it, and we will be returning to try more of the menu.
This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the food to the staff to the service, everything was top tier. I would give this restaurant 6 stars if I could. The oysters were extremely fresh and delicious, steak was cooked perfectly, and the redfish was so flavorful. The managers Brian and Abbey were both so attentive and caring. Our server Steph was excellent as well and took care of every need. Prime and Pearl- you’ve done a superb job, we will absolutely be returning!
I’ve been to Prime & Pearl several times. It never disappoints! It’s definitely a special occasion restaurant. I’ve always had wonderful service and the food is delicious.
My girlfriend and I are visiting from out of town and we decided to try our Prime & Pearl. First off, the atmosphere is very intimate and very modern. The service is very professional and friendly. Our server did a fantastic job describing what Prime & Pearl was all about and help guide us through their fantastic drink menu. We decided to go with a few drinks and split appetizers and a HUGE porterhouse. The porterhouse was extremely tender and was very flavorful. The calamari was to die for and the Oysters (fire roasted to be exact) we’re AWESOME. To finish it off, we got the Carrot Cake and Coconut Cream Pie with the 20 year Taylor Fladgate to finish the night. We absolutely loved every bit of our visit that we have gone back again to sit at the bar and the experience was just as amazing. 10/10, I highly recommend!
The food was AMAZING!! The atmosphere was very comfortable and the service was great. For appetizers we got lobster bisque and the Rockefeller oysters, both were amazing. The bread and butter they serve is absolutely delicious. For our main course we both ordered a steak and they were both cooked perfectly. The sides are “shareable” so they can feed at least 3 people at the table. For dessert we had the stuffed carrot cake and that was Amazing! It definitely could feed 4 people.
We enjoyed this place 100%. The fire roasted oysters are a must for an appetizer! We both chose the filet for dinner and they were cooked to perfection. The apple crumble with ice cream was the perfect way to end our meal. Next time we are going to try the carrot cake layered with cheesecake. We saw one come out to a table and it looked amazing. Prime & Pearl was definitely a great place to celebrate New Year’s Day but we will definitely be back again!
Wow! We shall return ❤️ Perfect Dining, excellent food, exceptional service by Autumn! Oysters, amazing…. We each had a dozen raw and 1/2 fire Roasted and 1/2 Diablo and ordered another 1/2 dozen of the Diablo (sorry no picture…new Favorite). The Blueberry Butter could accompany anything, it’s that Good! The Sea Bass…. Best around! The aged Ribeye was perfectly cooked as per order…. OUTSTANDING! I can not say enough about our first time there…. Other than we will recommend and revisit! Well worth the drive from Ocala, and not far off the Interstate. Ask for Autumn…. She is a asset to Prime and Pearl!
One of the few places in town I can actually order raw oysters other gulf ones. I prefer the seafood options here over their steak which I find a bit underseasoned. Lobster tails are always perfect here as are the crab cakes, redfish entree and calamari. One small gripe I have about this location is that the tables are a bit close. I understand that the space is small but it gets a bit congested trying to navigate when it’s peak dinner hour.
Lovely dinner. First time to Prime & Pearl but it won’t be my last. Recommend a reservation to get a table in the back. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a full menu. Staff was wonderful, very pleasant and attentive. Very very busy. It can get loud near the door so that’s why I recommend reservations. Great atmosphere. Ed Lyons walked around to check on guests and chat. Now the food was perfect. The oysters 🦪 yum!! The steaks medium rare didn’t disappoint & the lobster Mac perfect. The Caesar is seared perfectly. Old fashion and creme brûlée and key lime cheese cake a perfect end to the night. Great food & add to our Gainesville Restaurants! Congratulations Ed!!
Absolutely delicious food and amazing service! We went for our wedding anniversary, this was our first time here and we both loved it, will definitely come back again! Oysters, steak, sides, dessert and a huge wine list and awesome bourbon selection! Definitely recommend!!
Amazing experience from top to bottom! The atmosphere was so enjoyable and a breath of fresh air from the normal dining experiences in Gainesville. My husband and I were celebrating our 13th anniversary and we had such a great dinner. Everything was so delicious, the food was served in a timely manner, cooked to perfection and so fresh. The staff was great and met all of our needs, Paulie was our server, he was amazing and so knowledgeable about the entire menu. I would definitely recommend Prime & Pearl!
My family of 7 adults and 2 kids went on Mothers Day. The staff was very nice and accommodating, changing my reservation from a family of 4 to a family of 9 with no issues. From the hostess to the waiters/waitresses everyone was so nice and friendly. I ordered the firecracker shrimp and the blackened redfish and it was AMAZING! Better than the steak! My family kept "trying my food". The manager was walking around asking everyone how it was, he didn't ask our table, but I wish he would've, I would have loved to compliment the hostess and our server.
Went for a special occasion, steaks were top notch and cooked just right. Seafood options looked great too. Desserts were rich but not over the top. Felt fancy without being stuffy, good wine list.
I don't think I've ever received better service in the US, truly top notch, I reserved for an anniversary trip and we got a little note card congratulating us, excellent recs from the waiter, super friendly staff on all fronts despite arriving earlier than expected and not being the biggest spenders. The waitress let us pick our steak knives (rad) and I made a half-joke offhand comment about how I prefer non-serrated knives and all of the ones to select from were serrated, and she found one in the back for me! Steak and sides were great too, good cocktails and wine, worth the price of admission for sure.
We only stopped in for drinks and dessert. Insanely ordered 3 desserts for 4 people. The chocolate mousse was the best. Great service from Kai at the bar and Brian the manager. We really enjoyed the bar area.
Great experience all around. We came to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and the food was amazing! Nate took very good care of us and gave us a crème brûlée on the house and it was amazing! Definitely will be back.
I went there with my girlfriend for my 21st birthday. Our server Mimi was amazing! I got a complimentary champagne at the beginning, and a free dessert at the end. The food was great we had the steak, macaroni and mashed potatoes. They also gave me a handwritten birthday card. Safe to say they will always have me and my girlfriend as a customer!!
The foods are highly recommendable. We love the oysters very much.It was a memorable birthday for my daughter. Fast service.ALL of the staff from Manager to Servers (especially Mimi-she is very friendly and pleasant)are awesome, welcoming and approachable. We’re glad we chose this restaurant to celebrate a milestone. The ambiance is also great, lighting is fine for those who hate gloomy lighting.
We tied the knot at Town Hall and wanted a beautiful place to celebrate our marriage. We love Celebration Pointe, which is why we chose Prime & Pearl, and they did not disappoint! Parking was free and plentiful, and we were seated without a long wait, though we highly recommend making reservations, especially on busy nights. The vibe is low-lit, romantic, and intimate which was perfect for a special occasion. Our waitress was fabulous and very attentive throughout the evening. To start, their “poppers” were absolutely delicious and a fun twist on traditional bread service, especially paired with the incredible blueberry butter. To celebrate, I ordered their Painkiller cocktail, which was smooth, delicious, and hit the spot. I also had the French onion soup, which arrived piping hot with perfectly melted cheese. For our entrées, we ordered the filet, the NY strip, and the rack of lamb, and every dish was excellent. We shared the corn and mashed potatoes, both of which were outstanding. I also loved the artistic touch on the menu check presentation. Overall, we’re so happy we chose Prime & Pearl to celebrate our new marriage and will absolutely be returning in the future.
There are several nice steakhouses in Gainesville......prime and pearl is good..... not the best, but a solid choice. The hostess at the front door was a little off putting. We showed up a little earlier than our reservation time of 530p (after a quick scan, we saw that the restaurant was basically empty). We were told we would not be able to be seated until 530p. Since we had to wait, we decided to sit at the bar.....at 530p, the restaurant was still basically empty...... at this point, we went ahead and decided to eat at the bar. The food was slightly overpriced, but had good flavor and texture. If you haven't been, I recommend going to try it out.
The restaurant had an amazing selection of wines and steaks. All of the food that we had was very tasty and the staff was very knowledgeable. It was really cool to see the smoked old fashioned being made table side, and I had the prime and pearl namesake meal which was very tasty. Definitely recommend the Brussels! Wait staff did have some opportunity for improvement on communication amongst themselves and clearing glasses/items from table. We did appreciate being able to choose our knives of preference for dinner.
The food was enjoyable overall. The calamari was pretty good, with nice pieces of octopus and fried peppers, complemented by a flavorful chili sauce and citrus aioli. The oysters were good but disappointingly small. The rack of lamb came with three pieces and were a great size. I got them in medium and was cooked perfectly, all juicy and tender. It could have used a bit more salt. The four green beans served with it felt odd, they definitely could have added a lot more instead of charging $11 for a side of green beans. The redfish was well-prepared but lacked flavor, and the lumb crab on top didn’t appeal to me. On the other hand, the popover bread was a delightful surprise—light, buttery, and paired wonderfully with the blueberry butter. It was unexpected, as I thought regular bread would be served. The inside kinda looked like a hotel lobby so I wasn't really into that experience. Service was just alright, not exceptional.
Celebrated our anniversary and was impressed by this restaurant. It was our first time trying it and was impressed with the large portion size of the appetizers. The steaks were large as well and cooked correctly. We tried the carrot cake for dessert and it was delicious. We will be back again. Call ahead for reservations.
First let me say, wow - 1st time trying dry aged steak and we like it 👍🏾 ... upscale atmosphere, delicious and thoughtfully prepared/presented food, decent drink selection, great location, good service. Generally a wonderful experience, and a place we'll be back to when we want a nicer date night out. For a starter we had the oysters, which were amazing! I'm not really fond of oysters but those were very fresh and whatever sauce was on top went well with the handmade crackers. We ordered steaks for dinner and those were on point. My hubby and I are hard to please when it comes to steak. These were cooked as ordered (not overly done or undercooked), and they were very flavorful. Took a star for the cocktails. 🍹🍸 🍹 I didn't find them all that imaginative or strong enough. No fun! The service was ok, but could've stepped it up a notch for fine dining. Bill with a few drinks, a starter and two hefty steaks came to $200. Overalll, good experience.
The atmosphere here is great, staff and patrons are cordial and fun. The food was good. And Kelly the bartender was kind and pleasant. I’d come back for their ribeyes again.
Got the carpaccio, it was good. The filet was ok but the crispy oysters were good. The creme brulee was mid. No crisp on the sugar:(
We ate here recently and really, really hoped to be blown away, especially considering the price of the meal. Pros: -Popover bread and butter was delicious -Southern oysters were perfectly fried and seasoned well -Cocktails were fine -Lobster Mac and cheese was great with lots of lobster chunks -Mashed potatoes and asparagus were buttery the way I like them Cons: -Although the oysters were delicious, they were quite small -The basic ribeye was not very flavorful -The rack of lamb was not rendered very well (or however they cooked it) or seasoned very well -The potato wedges, while crispy on the outside, tasted a bit like mushy undercooked potato inside -The price of our meal was much more than we would spend at other steakhouse favorites, such as Embers -We weren’t charged for our meal for an entire week, which was unusual to us Overall, the experience was okay but pricier than what was delivered.
We went here today for our anniversary. They seated us in the "private" dining room. There was a table with 5 older people and they were so loud we couldn't even talk to each other. This room is extremely LOUD. We started with the smoked pork belly, and this was actually really good. I ordered the salmon, and this was cooked perfectly. The picture of my wine was $18.00 our waitress recommended it, if I could have heard her I would have noticed the $..My husband ordered the Ribeye, and the bottom of his steak was extremely charred, burnt and bitter. They remade his steak, and he ordered it medium, and it came out black and blue rare. At that point, we were done with the steak. They did removed the steak off our bill. We ended up getting a carrot cake to go. Our waitress was very kind and helped us as much as she could.
I came here twice and I had hair in my food BOTH times. On the second visit, the manager said they will not charge me for the food, but they refuse to have me at the restaurant any more. That is ridiculous. Also, the waiter on my second visit had rolled his eyes at me. Not only is the manager sort of rude but the waiter was as well. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The atmosphere is great, and the food it, but they need to keep their hair out of the food. I am also NOT the only one who has had hair in her food at this restaurant, so in a weird way, it's good they don't want me back. I don't want to be back at a place where there is rudeness and hairy food.
This place sucks pretty bad. It started off with a bang by the hostess enforcing an unposted dress code….not a huge deal to take a hat off but other patrons had on shorts and hats. Seems like a double standard. The complimentary bread sucks pretty bad. Of the 3 steaks we got only one wasn’t rancid and mushy. The one that was edible was flavorless. In my opinion you shouldn’t have to ask for salt on a $50+ steaks. Au gratin potatoes were decent at best. All in all I don’t see how this place has any good reviews from my experience. Will not be returning.
Been wanting to try Prime & Pearl for a while so went for the $52 Thanksgiving Dinner Plate but received a $12 dinner. It was advertised as a mixture of white and dark meat and I prefer dark so first thing noticed was no dark meat and only few slices of white meat on the plate. Even more disappointing was the gravy at the bottom of the plate was actually cold. My daughter complained she was thirsty as her glass sat empty for too long. They bring over a tray of assorted knives and let you pick your knife which seemed corny when food and service was blah. Not sure how they think this plate is worth the money. It felt like Prime & Pearl is a hyped up fake status "look at me" place focusing on money over quality and customer satisfaction. Definitely go to Cracker Barrel instead.
As the only Black People in this restaurant Friday Dec 26th, the experience was terrible. Our server/waitress was great. 3 of us are there to eat and have a good time. First steak was overcooked. It had to go back to kitchen. My steak was over cooked. I just ate it that way. Third steak was great. Until she found HAIR in her food. The server apologizes and tries to fix the problem. The “manager” comes with his phone flashlight with the piece of hair, holding it up all of our heads. Embarrassing. It’s a dark ambiance. Now we the only black people are having this flashlight pointed at our heads. And the hair is RED. We have black hair. My sister had purple hair. Clear as day. They never fixed the problem and embarrassed us at the same time. The server felt bad that he even treated us that way, the server apologizes more than the manager. And offers a dessert. Go at your own risk.
