Top tier restaurant! This would be my regular spot for Thai if I lived in Gavelston. I wish I would have taken pictures of our food, but it was a long day and I was ravenous. 😄 The fresh spring rolls were awesome! They brought the rolls out, cut up in sections, on a wooden platter, with a very tasty peanut sauce. My wife and I both got the Pad Thai. The food came out quick, even though they were pretty busy. The portion size was most excellent. We should have shared because we couldn't take leftovers (no fridge space/microwave at the hotel) and there was plenty leftover. Also, for anyone who hovers between "I like a little spice, but not too much" on your food, I recommend ordering the mild spice level and then ramping it up on your own. I typically order a 3 out of 5 at my normal Thai place, so I ordered the medium spice here, and it had a pretty good kick, almost to the point of too spicy. It's a good thing I had my DELICIOUS Thai iced tea to wash it down, haha! The other thing that impressed me about this place was watching all the people come in for to-go orders and the staff knew so many of them by name before they even approached the counter. I thought "now that is customer service!"
Discovered this place up in Galveston near the main corridor. Had the calamari and shrimp for appetizer and for the main had the pad Thai with chicken. Ordered arnold palmer to drink. All the food was great 👍🏽 plate size is very generous, was unable to eat it all. No stomach left for desert 😂 if you like Thai food and you’re hanging out in Galveston, I definitely suggest this place!
My wife and I live in Galveston and heard someone talking about this place. What a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. We had the Prik King with beef and the Green Curry with chicken and the shrimp spring rolls. So fresh and the taste was out of this world. We will make this our regular stop.
I tried the Prik King. Delicious heat! Chili forward and alittle sweet. Peppers, carrots and green beans with lovely jasmine rice. My friend had the green curry with seafood. I’m so glad she insisted I try it. It was a cacophony of flavors! Sweet, heat, lime, coconut and the seafood was perfection. I wish we had had room for dessert because they had a nice variety. I am looking forward to returning soon.
( The first time I eat Thai food and I’m Asian also so this is my point 😅 , by the way my English isn’t well so … 😂 ) ( I will note 📝 the names of the dishes below the pictures ) 1. Food : 💯 to be honest I didn’t know what we will order so I read another reviews and showed them pictures ( the food we wanna eat ) . And the staff was very friendly, she introduced us the food . So we got “ Garden hot wings “ , this was very delicious 🤤 the fried crust was crispy on the outside, you won't feel the smell of oil, the fried chicken was not burnt (although its color looked burnt), but trust me, it's delicious beyond my imagination, and there will be sweet and sour sauce to eat with it, not too spicy. “ Tom yum goong “ , this was the dish my brother ordered so I didn't try it, but he said it was delicious. “ Pad woon sen + seafood “ , d*mn , I really like this 😭 . They stir-fry seafood with vegetables, with vermicelli (maybe), and spices. Overall, this dish was very suitable for my taste 😋 “ Pad Thai + chicken 🐓 “ , this dish was also delicious, I recommend adding lemon juice (to add flavor) to the dish . “ Thai street ka pow + ground beef “ , for me this dish seems a bit salty, but in return the quantity was very much, it's also okay. 2. The staff : they are super friendly , they always ask you “ everything still oke “ , very good 😊. 3. Atmosphere : make me feel relaxing 😌 When I go to Galveston, I will be back 😉
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Garden Thai Restaurant in Galveston is hands down one of my favorite spots! I absolutely love their yellow curry with extra chicken—it’s rich, flavorful, and always hits the spot. Period. The staff is incredibly kind, and the service is consistently excellent. Highly recommend this gem of a place if you’re craving delicious Thai food and warm hospitality!
Absolutely love how quaint the building of where The Garden is. Not to mention the food! Starting off I got the Moo-ping appetizer , the pork was succulent . My wife had the Khao-soi chicken curry noodle soup , she says it’s delicious and that it’s one of the best curries she’s ever had. I ordered the double crab meat fried rice which comes with a fried soft shell crab along with lump of crab meat and was definitely a hit for me. One of the best renditions of fried rice I’ve ever had. Finishing off, we had the mango with sticky rice which was not too sweet (Perfectly sweet) and it came with a whole mango~! My wife and I came here on a whim and I’m glad we did. 10/10 I would come here again.
Fabulous Thai food right off the Strand. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. We devoured the edamame and chicken larb as an appetizer. The green and yellow curry dishes were delicious, and my son really enjoyed the pork spare ribs. My favorite was the Pad Kee-Mao. Some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m so glad we decided to give Thai Garden a try. We’ll definitely be back.
Absolutely obsessed with this place! The Garden on the Strand is truly one of our favorites — from the moment you walk in, the energy is warm, happy, and inviting. The decor is adorable, full of charm and little touches that make it feel special without trying too hard. The food? Incredible. Every single dish was packed with flavor — fresh, vibrant, and SO satisfying. If you like spice, you’ll be seriously impressed. The heat levels are no joke (in the best way), but the flavor never gets lost. It’s that perfect balance. Special shoutout to the staff — so friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything. You can tell they care about the food and the people. It just makes the whole experience feel even better. Whether you’re local or just visiting Galveston, The Garden is an absolute must. I’ll be dreaming about those flavors until I come back. 🫶
Wow!!! Finally Galveston has a real Thai restaurant. We had Thai basil chicken fried rice and the double crab pad Thai, both were fantastic. We look forward to going back and trying more items on their great menu. It’s always so wonderful when the owners are present… greeting you and helping with the food service.
This is quite a little gem of a place. I went for lunch and their lunch special is a very good value, which includes main, salad and crispy spring roll. Very calm vibe inside and it looks out upon a courtyard. Food was excellent and prepared by a chef from Thailand. Even little things like the dressing for the salad was done really well. Would happily return the next time I am in town.
Amazing restaurant and such a hidden gem on the strand. I've eaten here/ordered to go at least 5 times and each time the quality and consistency of the food is superb. Their spring rolls are some of my favorite that I've tried. I recently tried the duck curry and it was delicious. I highly recommend checking this spot out next time you're on The Strand! You won't be disappointed!
Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. We had a couple of appetizers - fried tofu and chicken gyoza. The kids had Khao Soi and I had the Penang curry. The food was pretty good. What we really appreciated was the atmosphere and ambience. The restaurant is brightly lit and has very fresh decor. It’s almost like an afternoon tea place look. Service was good. The outdoors area has nice seating to enjoy your meal. Will return if we are ever in the area again.
We spotted a charming restaurant driving back to our hotel after exploring The Strand. It caught our attention because it had a lovely courtyard and was tucked away among the buildings. We decided to give it a try for lunch today. I ordered the chicken fried rice, my daughter got the Khao Soi chicken, and my wife went for the Pad Woon Sen chicken. My wife also indulged in the Strawberry tea. It was visually stunning and even more delightful. That alone will definitely have her coming back. The restaurant had a great vibe. It was spotless, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and they took excellent care of us. We’ll definitely be back again!
Came here during a girls trip and had a wonderful experience! We had a large group but the reservation process was super easy and they were ready for us when we arrived. The servers were very kind and the food came out pretty quickly! We all really enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend the green curry and if you like spicy, they will deliver! The place also has cute photo ops inside and outside.
My family and I love this place. Absolutely stellar Thai cuisine with fantastic servers and an awesome atmosphere. The only thing we don't recommend is the pricier deep fried fish. All the main cuisines and the curries are incredibly delicious. Personally love the green yellow and red curries The most.
I am reviewing on my dad’s phone since I don’t have a Google account. The garden Thai cuisine was delicious!! Everything was flavorful and really hit the spot! Still so many things I want to try on their menu. I got their drunken noodles, my mom got the ka pow, my dad was still full from lunch but tried their Thai donuts and he said they were delicious. I don’t have the photos of the fried bananas with coconut ice cream that me and my mom shared but they were really good!
