I stopped by this coffee shop recently and was pleasantly surprised by how warm and inviting it felt the moment I walked in. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between cozy and modern — plenty of seating for working or catching up with friends, but still relaxed enough that you don’t feel rushed. The coffee itself was excellent. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was smooth, well-balanced, and perfectly frothed. You can tell the baristas really care about the quality of what they serve. I also tried a pastry, and it tasted fresh, like it had just come out of the oven that morning. Service was friendly without being overbearing — the staff actually smiled and took the time to answer a couple of my questions about their beans. Prices are fair for the quality, and they even have a few unique seasonal drinks that make the menu more exciting than your average café. Overall, this is the kind of place that makes you want to come back, whether you’re grabbing a quick cup to-go or settling in with a laptop for a few hours. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

☕️ MOD Coffeehouse – 5 Stars 🌿 After six days adrift in cruise ship buffets and curated excursions, MOD Coffeehouse felt like stepping back into reality — the good kind. Authentic, local, and refreshingly grounded. The coffee? Fantastic. Smooth, rich, and brewed by people who clearly care about what they’re doing. The vibe? Chill, artsy, and real — a total palate cleanse after the polished sheen of cruise life. It’s the kind of place where locals linger and conversations feel unfiltered. Whether you’re decompressing post-cruise or just craving a great cup and some soul, this is your landing pad. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A perfect re-entry point into the real world. Highly recommend.

Probably one of the best coffee places on the island. They have a drink called “Just trust me” it was the barista’s choice. Think of it as the mystery box of coffee drinks. It’s was the best choice, because it helped with the decision of choosing between all the amazing drinks. You the place was good when the line was out the door by the time we left.

Today was my second time going to MOD, the first time I went I loved the coffee, didn’t really like the food (cheddar scone) but the experience of placing my order was a little odd. I walked in, started giving my order to a younger woman, she randomly walks away mid order and a guy steps in with literally no explanation lol The guy who ended up finishing taking my order was very cold and un welcoming. Today my experience was totally different, both people working were super friendly and the guy who took my order was very social and nice. The coffee was 10/10 as always.

Loved my visit to MOD Coffeehouse in Galveston! I tried the French vanilla latte with almond milk and it was awesome—smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The vibe here is cozy and laid-back, with great indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for a relaxing coffee break.

Came on Monday morning as a group of three and we went back three times! The coffee is delicious and their matcha was amazing! Everything tasted fresh and is made in house. We had a kolache and carrot cookie and they were to die for! Would definitely be coming back.

MOD Coffeehouse is a great spot in downtown Galveston Island, offering well-crafted coffee in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. We ordered a Flat White, and they definitely know how to make it right—excellent espresso with perfectly balanced milk. They also have a nice selection of pastries to complement your drink. The café is divided into two sections. The first room, where you order, has a lot of character and a unique charm. The second seating area, however, feels somewhat unfinished—almost like it’s waiting for inspiration and final touches to bring it to life. Service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall warmth of the place. But what truly sets MOD Coffeehouse apart is the patio. Completely wrapped in greenery and vines, it creates a peaceful, shaded retreat. I’d definitely prefer to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere surrounded by nature. A solid choice for anyone looking for quality coffee and a laid-back, welcoming vibe in Galveston. Highly recommended!

Very, very nice latte... Down in the strand District of Galveston surrounded by art galleries. Worth a stop if you're in this part of town. The staff was super pleasant.

This is the coffee house to go if you are in Galveston. We had a veggie egg cheese on croissant bread. We also had a regular latte. The latte was made with lots of foam which i really love!

Pretty good actually. Friendly staff and fast service. Thought it was a but expensive for a coffee and pumpkin cake think, but maybe that’s normal today. It was quite good though so overall I was happy. I would go again and I can recommend this place.

MOD? More like MID. Nah I'm playing. My family and I came in while on vacation and MOD has a really cool vibe. It's very well decorated and the ladies behind the counter do a decent job. The coffee was meh, but the food was actually really good. I'd probably visit it again because the physical atmosphere is actually really well crafted. Kudos to those who spent a lot of time on that! Don’t let the ⭐4.7 rating and 2,200 reviews fool you — my first visit here was terrible. When I asked about house-made syrups, the barista told me the only one was “cinnamon sugar,” which isn’t even a syrup. I tried to have a conversation and mentioned that I make my own syrups at home, but she flat-out ignored me — incredibly rude, especially when a customer is speaking directly to you. Then, when my drink was ready, an older man loudly yelled my name 📢 as if giving a speech — even though I was the only customer at the counter — and he wouldn’t make eye contact. Very unprofessional and not personable at all 👎. I ordered their “Holly” latte (which is supposed to have cinnamon sugar, vanilla, and toffee nut), but I couldn’t taste most of it. Maybe a faint hint of vanilla and a little sweetness, but definitely no cinnamon sugar and no real toffee nut flavor. On top of that, the espresso was overly acidic, and the drink just didn’t come together 🤢. It feels like they don’t actually care about customer service here — customers are treated as just transactions. For a place with such high praise, my first experience was a huge disappointment ❌. I would not recommend this location.
