Great experience! We had a full afternoon tea and it was amazing! Beautifully decorated with instrumental music playing, very friendly staff, and the food and tea was delicious! We will be back again!

My good friend brought me here to celebrate a special birthday. I was so overwhelmed by what a lovely time me had thanks to this beautiful venue. We met Vanessa the owner who welcomed us in and showed us our table. The thoughtfulness to every design elements extended to the table settings, servers and food. Such a pretty place with so many details. The tea was fantastic and the food was so good. If you’re looking for a social place to share with friends, you’ve found it here.

Celebrated my best friend's bridal shower at oak & rose. Vanessa is so fantastic. She was so patient and accommodating from the get go. She really understands the importance of these events in one's life and wants to do everything she can to make it a success. On the day, she was literally helping move furniture herself to multiple places until we were happy. Was present and accessible fully on the day with the biggest smile. Can't say enough things about her. From the request of eggless option on the menu, to the print we needed for the menu, to the hours for decor and the event we requested, to adding guests last minute she was just so understanding. We recommend Vanessa and Oak & rose without any hesitation.

I cannot say enough about Vanessa and her team. They were amazing for planning a baby shower. I had a 33 person baby shower and planning was so easy with her. And I even had some cancellations on the day, and we worked it out. They even have to-go boxes for anyone that couldn’t make it. I had two dietary restrictions- gluten free and vegetarian- and both loved it. They said they were trying to create room to eat more. The room is beautiful so don’t feel like you need to add to the room. I had a few children for the event and they worked with me to make sure they were covered. The space is beautiful near the water. Also I cannot say enough about the food and tea. Everything I tried was amazing so you can’t go wrong.

Just came back from my Grandniece’s bridal shower. It was absolute perfection. From the food, service and atmosphere…could not have been more perfect. If you need a venue for a shower or would like to come for afternoon tea…look no further. Did I say it was perfect? It was. Absolute perfection. Thank you for making her day absolutely everything she was dreaming about!

Absolutely wonderful!! I am peanut-free and I was served a peanut-free version. It was delicious!!!. The tea was amaizing, staff was very sweet. It's a hidden gem. Lov it!

The experience was worth waiting for. The courtyard before entry was delightful. The river just added to the ambiance. Vanessa and Belle were so inviting. I recommend the experience to everyone that wants a refreshing experience for dining. So attendative to make the experience memorable. My 92 year old mother took me here as a surprise for my birthday. I loved it! The food is amazing, the staff is so nice, and the owner is wonderful!! Super cool place!!

This is a beautiful tea room with a view of the river. Great tea and food. This is definitely one of my top tea room experiences in Illinois.

What an adorable place to have tea! Right on the water and they will have outdoor seating come nice weather. Reasonably priced and a great “tea” atmosphere. They just opened a month ago. Owner was attentive and very people oriented. I will definitely go back!

Wonderful Tea Room. Chicken Salad is so scrumptious. Plentiful trays of sandwiches, scones and delicious desserts. The atmosphere is beautiful. Service is impeccable.

As a big tea enthusiast I came in being so excited to celebrate with my coworkers for the holidays! The hostess welcomed us and gave us the run down of the tea menu which I found very helpful! The earl grey and Christmas sugar cookie tea were my favorite teas that I got to try! The food I found perfect to munch on while talking and laughing with my coworkers. We all had to take tons of photos of the tea room as it was decorated perfectly for the holidays and in general the aesthetic of the room is fancy! I definitely want to come back with friends! 10/10 would recommend! :)

Ambiance is beautiful. Tea is very delicious. Food was fine. Everyone was very friendly, but service was slower than desired. Unlimited Tea comes with your package, but they didn't stop by often to take new tea orders.

I wish I had a better review, we were really looking forward to our time at this venue. Unfortunately it was underwhelming. Our soup was lukewarm, the au jus was not hot the food choices were not great, too many sweets. Some fresh fruit would have been nice or some cucumber sandwiches, or chicken salad. For the price we paid we would not return. Also the service was ok but nothing exceptional. Maybe it was an off day not sure but we were disappointed.

Christmas tea! The atmosphere, presentation and service was absolutely wonderful! The amount of food received and quality was underwhelming- way below expectations for a price tag of $85 a person. Mini chicken pot pie was probably the worst we ever had-seemed like canned cream of chicken type soup-bland and carrots were still hard-the snowflake biscuit topping seemed stale! There were no croissants!!! Instead they chose Hawaiian rolls for mini sandwiches and only one type of mini sandwich was offered. The gingerbread scone and savory biscuit were good! The dessert was meh-cookies seemed store bought not bakery quality. I have been to other tea rooms that offered more, better food and less expensive! I enjoyed my friends and the atmosphere- food was disappointing. We won’t go back.

Prior to my visit I saw the photos on the website. So I was surprised upon entering that it wasn't as neat and put together as I expected. As you enter, to the left there was a messy coat rack and to the right was a cubby type cabinet that looked like messy storage of bags of tea, etc.. Once my party was seated it took too long for someone to take our tea order. They seemed disorganized and 'off.' Then the tray of food came and we had to ask what everything was -perhaps a menu at the table would be a good idea. It's another one of those restaurants where it's very loud. The bathrooms are right next to the tables (ick) and they were not as clean as you'd expect. The Christmas decor was ok. Overall, it just wasn't the classy experience I was expecting, especially for the price.
