Very nice casual eating, and for a good cause. I had a Philly cheesesteak, a tomato basil soup, and a slice of buttermilk pie and all three were excellent. Great service as well.
My meal was fantastic! I got the Philly Cheese Steak. Ignore the bad reviews, price is on point & they have a very great mission, help the mentally handicapped. Very powerful to see their staff in action.
This is really lovely and neat place to be. There are a lot of elderly individuals and Individuals with special needs are working. This place has really a positive and healthy vibe. We had green tea and pastry which was good, specially the tea was refreshing. I would Recommended to check it out.
This is a great café, gift shop, and event Space. The BiG mission to empower their citizens is great. The sunflower room can be rented out/booked for your events. The café menu is simple, but a good quality - the grilled cheese was really good. There are vegetarian items on the menu, including the quiche and the grilled cheese. Overall both the café as well as the sunflower room are great places to enjoy a meal, catch up with friends or read a book with a nice cup of tea or coffee.
We got the number 2 and the croissant. The wait was minimal. The food was very good. The staff was super friendly. The shop had a BUNCH of cute things. The parking situation was also nice. Ample space in the back. They did have the option for dessert, but I didnt even finish what I ordered. Thank you for a lovely experience, I'll definitely visit again in the near future.
The BiG Cafe and Shop is a must-do when in the Austin area! If you're unfamiliar with their story, check out their website before you go and if not, just ask any of their employees or volunteers on site! The cafe menu makes your mouth water just reading the options for breakfast and lunch and the shop makes you want to buy everything! I visited during the Christmas season and purchased handmade ornaments by a few of their 90+ Citizens they employee and will cherish them forever. BiG's passion and mission to serve the special needs community and their families is a HUGE success and Christ is evident in all they do. I cannot recommend this organization and this destination enough!
We haven't been here since before COVID but here have been some great improvements! The greenhouse has been turned into another cute eating area + shop, the product selection inside the main shop is wonderful with many different options for men, women, & kids, the quaint cafe has delicious coffee options and fresh farm to table meals, and there is now a turfed outside eating area with umbrella shade in front of the main shop and another area in front of the greenhouse. Obviously I love the mission and support they have for the disABLED; the beautiful works of art for sale created by different individuals, the job opportunities provided there, as well as the programs funded and charity. It's beautiful to see adults with special needs thriving and recognized through this beautiful establishment. In the cafe we ordered food to the greenhouse since it was pretty busy and no seats in the cafe (1:45 on a Monday). The Avocado Toast #2 (with bacon and sunny-side-up egg) was delicious, and the kids quesadillas were pretty good, both with fruit on the side. Even though it was busy they got the food out to us in a decent time. The staff were all very friendly and patient (especially with my 2 & 5 year old) and seemed to enjoy being there. The service was also great and the place was clean. Lovely place, we will be returning!
Truly a wonderful place to stop by. The shop has different items to buy and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you have time to talk, they will tell you more about their story and what they do. The cafe was delicious and possibly some of the best chicken salad I had. The croissant was delightfully flakey and the tomato soup was flavorful. Their cookies are also wonderful (couldn't take a picture due to there being no evidence left).
What is not to love about this place?! The food here is always great. It's a small menu but everything I have ordered here has been wonderful. There's a nice little shop attached that is nice to browse Through. We have bought many little things for the kids here. And lastly it supports an absolutely wonderful cause and it's a great organization. We will continue to support it when we can.
Ordered a cappuccino just to check out the place. The cafe is small and cute. The gift shop is of decent size and has a good collection. I like the decor and vibes of the gift shop. Will come back to try other items in the menu. I like how this place is trying to make a change in the community. The coffee and tea menu is huge.
Suuuper cute gift shop!!! There were so many things to see and every single one was super cute and made with quality. This would be a great place to shop for any souvenirs, one of a kind birthday presents or even teacher gifts! Food was yummy. I had the chicken salad sandwich (highly recommend getting it on the croissant) and a blueberry scone. There is also a variety of fudge, pies, and cookies to choose from. We went on an extremely busy day due to teachers around the district all having the same lunch schedule since students aren’t back from summer yet and the staff worked hard to push orders out in a timely manner. Mine was lost in the process but an employee checked in with me twice to see if my order was given to me. On the second check in it seemed like she went in there and took care of it herself. Customer service was superb 🫶🏼
Had a great breakfast here on a Thursday morning. Greeted and ordered our food and food came quickly. I had breakfast tacos and wife had breakfast crescents. Both were very tasty. Both came with fruit cup that was fresh and delicious (my wife stole my strawberries before I was able to get a pic, lol). We enjoyed our meal! Recommended!
This was an amazing find in the heart and soul of Georgetown!❤️ The energy, warmness and top notch customer service made us feel like family. The grilled cheese was exceptional! Which included delicious havarti, mozzarella, white American and pesto. It was not greasy like most other places and was perfectly melted when it arrived to our table. Also the tomato basil soup was the best that I’ve ever had. So many flavors going on at once! Compliments to the team! We tried the vanilla latte and mocha ☕️ and they were a unique balance of flavors while not over or under sweetened. Update: March 2023 - added photos of our delicious brunch. Did let the cafe manager know a request - they use to carry a delicious warm quinoa with chicken and veggies. The quinoa on their menu is new and served cold with veggies and a peanut sauce. I was not a fan but they kindly took it back. The menu does not mention if the quinoa is cold or warm. Just a note of caution. We love BIG cafe and will continue to support this amazing place! Make sure to checkout the awesome gift shop next door! Thank you to Emma V. who made the beautiful lotus flower that we purchased! Which includes many beautiful items, delicious fudge and hand soaps made exclusively by citizens of BiG! Our favorite hand soap was the peach bellini. Don’t forget to get your name on the list to attend a tour of the amazing grace building, which is available for rental of groups 100 or less people. The tour highlights vocational programs and BiG culture. Get out and support this local gem!! 🌻🐝☀️ adding new pics love the Wednesday special egg salad is amazing! Love chicken salad too and peach pie!
Very unique dining experience. We stopped here for breakfast and was very pleasantly surprised the food was great and cooked to order. They go out of their way to make sure you get your food the way you want it. They also have a small store with some unique items to look through before and after your meal. Make sure you stop here if you're in Georgetown! PS They do amazing things to help their community!
Super adorable little cafe with big intentions. The atmosphere gives a feeling of country side picnic meets elegant farmhouse if that's even a thing 😂. The people here are so nice and kind and the profit of the boutique and restaurant is given back into the community for those with special needs. There's plenty of shopping here and most definitely a place I will revisit for gifting and home decor. Did I mention the food is amazing?
We got to experience the Big Cafe for the first time today! We came on a Saturday at around 11:30, and there were about 6 people ahead of us in line to order food at the register. The line took about 15 minutes, but once we ordered and sat down, it only took about 5 minutes or less for our food to come out! There isn't a lot of seating, so I would suggest coming during less busy hours and with a small party. Water and coffee is self-serve at a side table. Our food tasted good but there were a few minor errors. I had added avocado to my turkey sandwich and there was none, and my daughter had ordered her breakfast taco on a flour tortilla, but it came on corn. It was still delicious and generous sized portions. We enjoyed looking at their boutique connected to the cafe, and everyone working and volunteering was super friendly!
Okay!!! First time coming in here, my dear friend picked this place for lunch, a beautiful choice. Food was tasty, we enjoyed every bit of it. My chai was the best!!! Some type of charity/volunteering activity takes place in there, didn’t have the time to get the details or how it works, had to get back to work. I really like the place, one lady was particularly nice and respectful to us, should have asked for their name. There’s a gift shop right before you get into the cafe and a beautiful table setup outside the cafe, giving you the option to sit in or outside. I had finished my blueberry pie, before I remembered we had to take pictures. Haha! Lovely place.
Biscuits and gravy were very plain and extremely overpriced. I love the mission they have but not sure how that translates to the food cost. If the quality matched the price I would be satisfied. I paid $2 extra to have sausage added to the biscuits and gravy they were odd tiny square chunks of sausage that were flavorless and tasted like they came from a frozen bag. The shop is very cute very expensive I didn't really see any clear indication of who made what.
