Food was great. We were able to hear some music when first arrived. Waitress started out doing well, then toward the end seemed to have forgot about us. Catfish sandwich, pulled pork tater tots, hush puppies and Mac cheese were all very good.
BB King’s Blues Club absolutely blew us away—this place is everything you want when you think of Memphis: incredible live music, unforgettable food, and top-tier service. Let’s start with the food. The King’s Meatloaf was hands-down the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. Rich, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to absolute perfection—you can immediately understand why they call it King’s Meatloaf. One bite and it lives up to the name. The salad was unbelievably fresh. It honestly tasted like the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were picked straight from the farm that morning—crisp, clean, and full of flavor. And the cheese fries phenomenal. When you order cheese fries here, you actually get cheese fries. A generous amount of cheese melted all over the fries—no skimping, no shortcuts, just pure comfort food done right. Now for a special shout-out to Heaven, hands down the best waitress in Memphis. If you ever find yourself in Memphis, make sure to stop at this awesome place.
Just last week I had an incredible meal at B.B. King’s, and I’ve got to rave about their half chicken and rib plate. Absolutely phenomenal. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy all the way through, and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone with that rich, smoky flavor you can only get from people who really know what they're doing in the kitchen. The portion was generous, the sides were spot-on, and the service matched the quality of the food—warm, upbeat, and fast. If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and grab this plate. B.B. King’s nails the kind of soulful, satisfying BBQ that keeps you coming back. Highly recommended!
Wonderful atmosphere. Chicken fried chicken was so flavorful. Being from Louisiana we like our food seasoned and I didn't have any complaints. The mashed potatoes weren't to great in my opinion, I wondered were they powder bc something was off. The Mac and cheese was super cheesy and most people like that. I had an adult bevy called peach melody and it was fruit and sweet, exactly what I wanted. My husband said the ribs were perfect, flavorful and succulent. The baked beans were good. He had the hurricane adult bevy and as stated before we are from Louisiana, it wasn't like any Hurricane we have had. Definitely has room for improvement. Our waitress was great very personable and on top of it.
Food did not miss! It was well priced and had flavor. Went with the shrimp po boy and my colleague went with the pulled pork platter, both exceptional one might say the pulled pork was better. Nate our server was provided amazing service .
We had such a memorable evening at B.B. King's Blues Club in Memphis! I’ve always wanted to check out this legendary club and was excited to finally have a chance to go! It felt like an especially perfect time to be there since it was a celebration of 100 years for B.B. King! The vibe is electric, you can feel the energy in the place radiating! We showed up on a busy Friday night without reservations, and they managed to get us a table, which was a nice surprise. The music was phenomenal. Several musicians came on and played everything from blues to soulful jazz and even a bit of rock mixed in. The $10 cover was a great bargain for the quality of the performances. As for the southern food, it was a little too fried for me but the group I was with really enjoyed it. The fried okra was a good addition on the menu. The cocktails were creative and fun as well adding to the whole experience. Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone who loves live music, comfort food, and a little bit of living history!
The ribs were absolutely amazing! If this is your first trip here, skip all the other protein and get the ribs - just trust me! We listened to Ashton Riker & The Memphis Royals for their entire show and they were absolutely amazing. The vibes in this place are amazing.
Blues, Ribs and More !!! I had an amazing night at BB King's Blues Club in Memphis. The place was really rocking that night !! After wandering around Beale Street and stopping in quite a few places to listen to music and have a drink or two, I finally made it to my destination. The hostess, once I paid my cover charge, brought me right to the front of the stage, where I sat, met a few people, had a few more drinks and dinner. I started with a cup of succulent gumbo, and even though it was just a cup, it certainly hit the spot. For my main course, as you can imagine, I ordered a half-rack of delicious ribs. The ribs were fantastic, and the vibe and the music and all the people I met just added to the experience. There are quite a few great Blues venues on Beale Street, but BB King's is an iconic spot for food and music.
We tried 3 different ribs places and this was definitely the best place! The ribs were fall off the bone and had great flavor. The sides were good as well but nothing amazing our favorite. The vibes were great since there was a live band. The service was very nice and attentive.
Everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) about this place is amazing. The ambience, the music, the food, the service, the location was TOP TIER. Our server, Amelia, exhibited the most friendly disposition that I have experienced from a server. She was the sweetest and set the tone for an awesome evening. The live music...MY GOODNESS, MY GOODNESS...10 out 10. And, the food was sooo flavorful. I really enjoyed my time here and will surely return.
Are you looking for a to get the quintessential Memphis blues experience? You don't really need to look any farther. This is a great place to hang and listen to some great blues. The BB King All-Stars play here and you'll feel like you're stealing from them at a $10 cover! They've got a great bar, upper balcony and and lower level. All the spots are great. The staff and atmosphere leave nothing to be desired. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Don't give this place a second thought, I promise it's great! Also, for a $10 cover you probably are stealing from the band. Consider dropping a little extra in the bucket if you like them😉
First time to Memphis and visited this renowned location to enjoy some comfy food, great live music and lively atmosphere. It did not disappoint. Memphis Soul Factory had the place on their feet. Such incredible talent. We had a great time.
The gumbo was fabulous and the BBQ sauce is def on point. There is a $10 cover charge when they have live music, but you can keep your receipt, leave and come back without paying again. Small price to pay for live entertainment for sure!
Went in the evening right before catching the grizzlies game. $10 cover for live music. But it’s worth the overall experience. Grab a drink and enjoy the music and food. The shrimp and grits is in my top 3 of all time. Would go back in a heartbeat
The cover at the door when you’re planing on having dinner is a bit much - tip: argue about it and they’ll let you in or maybe it was the 2 four tops that walked out instead of paying the cover that helped; that seemed help the hostess changed her mind. Had the rib and they didn’t disappoint! They really were fall off the bone. Great meat taste and very good BBQ sauce. The beans with huge pieces of bacon and slaw were spot on! Really was the best BBQ I had and I tried 4 different locations around town - not just on Beal. Only negative was what’s with the bread roll - make fresh baked or skip it. Our server Randy had great hustle. Live music was great too.
Great club, amazing musicians, very tasty food. We really enjoyed our dinner here with great live music that felt like an actual concert. Unfortunately the musicians always took a 30 minute break after playing 50-60 minutes which meant a lot of waiting around. Yet the music was great and the singer Ashton Riker was amazing. When it comes to the food it is quite pricey but tastes good. I recommend you try the mac and cheese!
Despite a little inconvenience at the hostess stand, I had an amazing time. Although I couldn't get any shrimp because they don't accommodate for allergies, the food I did have was great.. MUSIC WAS AMAZING.. and the drinks were delicious 😋 😌. We're from out of town and this was my second visit and I'd do it again.. see ya soon B.B.s
Simply the best ribs ever. The vibe was kool, the band was great, Bailey the waitress was awesome, the door guy was correct. Other people's food looked good, good place to hang.
Walked in around 4pm on Saturday 1/10/25. Kings was busy but not full. Sat in a perfect bar area. Server Tim was amazing and tentative. Tim recommended the jambalaya and catfish, which were delicious. 4-8pm entertainment band was wonderful.
What more could you want? Award winning BBQ, good service, and great live local music? The prices are reasonable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Two thumbs way up!
Hands down the best Blues Club on Beale Street. We checked out other places as well on Beale St but keep coming back to this club, for the bands were very very good. The food is very good as well; I tried the pulled pork, which was yummy and tender.
We were there early so it wasn't crowded. The service was great! We shared the catfish nuggets appetizer and it was delicious. Perfectly battered and fried! I ordered the Lucille drink and it was super good. If you are on Beale Street definitely go to BB King's!!!
Best place to chill-out, enjoy appetizers and cocktails, and listen to live bands playing the blues! Delicious loaded tots and crawfish poppers. But the live music was the BOMB!
When in Memphis, you MUST check out BB King's Blues Club for the dose of live blues performance. This club oozes the sweat and love of blues, the authentic flavor of what black soul music down South. Cover charge is $10. Be prepared to be knocked the living winds out of you by the live band and singers here. They are full of soul and talent, enthusiasm and love for music. Come early for front seats to talented singers who use their powerful pipes to sing both classic and new tunes while enjoying finger-licking BBQ ribs. Pro tip is to order the BBQ sauce on the side so that you can control the BBQ on your own discretion. Great food, great music and overall a great evening spent on Beale Street. Highly recommend stopping by and sticking around the evening for rotating artists and bands.
So fun!!! Walked in for dinner and also enjoyed a great band. (There is a cover charge for adults.) Ron was a fantastic waiter!! Took very good care of us - my delicious sweet tea was never empty! Ribs were fall off the bone delicious and the shrimp and grits were so good!! We added hush puppies - a very good idea on our part. It was all so good!!! Service, food, atmosphere... perfect!! Only negative - the men's bathroom attendant was rude to my 15 year old (no reason, uncalled for!)
Best Halloween spot one could have asked for. Live music + nachos made me extremely happy. I also love that you can watch the band from down on the floor, as well as from the upper gallery. Staff was dressed up too, Beale Street in general is always an adventure. The vibe overall was unforgettable.
Great music, good service and excellent entertainment. Crawfish poppers, gumbo and shrimp and grits were very good. It is quite load, yet conversation is easy during sets.
This is a great and famous place on Beale Street. Maybe it looks like a tourist trap, but they had an excellent blues band. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember the name, but I really enjoyed the music. I didn't have any food (just bourbon), but my friends really enjoyed some of their excellent Southern comfort food dishes. The place was packed, but we got a table right away.
We had to pay $10.00 per person for the live entertainment. I initially thought that if you were purchasing food and drinks, there wouldn’t be an additional charge. That said, the entertainment was excellent, and both the food and service were outstanding. In the end, the $10 fee was absolutely worth it.
We were visiting from Florida, and decided to eat out. Please make reservations because they get crowded. The food is outstanding. Ordered ribs, and they were very flavorful and fell right off the bone. The Staff is very friendly. We enjoyed the live music too. Would highly recommend this restaurant. There is $10 per person cover charge at the door. It’s no problem because you are getting live entertainment by well known recording artists. The atmosphere was very relaxed. This place is 2 stories, so there are stairs.
Came in on a rainy Wednesday afternoon for lunch and we were treated with phenomenal service and food. No live music that early in the day but it was cool just to be in such a historical little bar. We ordered burgers, a pulled pork sandwich, and beer. Was a great little spot in Memphis!
This place is Authentic. While other artists perform here now, the vibe is as if BB King never left. The music was phenomenal, atmosphere laid back, food was good. There are even signature drinks. Don't forget to check out the gift shop adjacent to the bar on lower level. An all around pleasant experience.
Ribs were outstanding. The catfish bites(app) and the gumbo were just as good. Server was attentive and food order was filled quickly. Great place for lunch
Oh my goodness - YUM!!! We stopped in Memphis while on vacation. And, of course, you can't skip getting bbq while here! I'm so glad this is where we decided to eat because there was zero disappointment! We ate here for dinner on a Sunday evening and the place was packed. Be prepared for a cover charge if there is live music ($10 per adult, free for kids), but it is completely worth it! Luckily, there was no wait - so, we were seated right away, grabbing one of the last few open tables. We ordered a couple of cocktails as well as the mac & cheese, fried pickles, pig platter, and ribs. Some of the best bbq we have ever had! The ribs were fall off the bone - literally. Everything was favorable and tender. Our ONLY complaint that the pickles were not really breaded and crispy, but more slightly soft, though not mushy. Such a fun experience. I highly recommend visiting.
Where do I start!!! Service was brilliant, Nate made both our visits so much fun, really made you feel valued, not as a customer but as a person. Food was excellent, first visit (yes we went there twice) we had chicken wings, gumbo and shrimp poh-boy and the second visit we had the BB King salad with grilled chicken and also the pork tacos. Great flavor and huge portion sizes. The live music was excellent, made for a great experience. Highly recommend a visit.
We were was able to get in without a cover because we only wanted to order food to go. The atmosphere was increase and there were even people there from overseas. While waiting through a couple of live songs from the AMAZING band, my wife was able to hit the dance floor. After we got our food, I felt like I should have been charged a cover 🤣🤣. (The chicken tenders were HUGE and some of the best I have ever had!!)
Excellent food. Wide variety of things to choose from. Everything was delicious. We were a party of six, and of us enjoyed our selection. Nicole, our server, was wonderful. She made this dining experience so delightful Oh, the band was really good, and they certainly added to the enjoyment.
Bbq ribs were wonderful, as were the chicken wings. The Cole slaw was average, not outstanding. Baked beans were very nice with smokey flavor. My server was there when I needed him. The music was outstanding. I wanted both classic Memphis food and quality music. Food was as good as advertised, atmosphere was comfortable, friendly and fun. Prices were fair. I was not disappointed and stayed for 2 hours without feeling rushed to leave. I also bought 2 bottles of sauce to later share my taste experience with friends and family.
Happy we chose here! The food was so delicious with flavorful food and big portions. All the staff was very helpful and kind, felt the southern charm. The entertainment was surreal to witness, we had the pleasure of listening 2 jazz/blue bands and really enjoyed both performances. We had such a great time! We came around 6:30/7pm and there was a $10 cover charge per person that goes toward the performers. Visiting from Houston, TX I definitely had my fill of Memphis coming here and would recommend to anyone visiting!
Last weekend I took myself on a solo date and I had a great time at B.B. King’s Blues Club! I ordered the grilled chicken with fries and had a Beale Street Lemonade—everything was tasty and hit the spot. The highlight of the night was definitely the live music; the energy and vibe were incredible and made the whole experience so much fun. A must-visit spot on Beale Street if you’re looking for good food, great drinks, and amazing music!
Ok, so i didn't experience the restaurant just the gift store. The man was very friendly and welcoming as well as nice to me and my sister, of course Skippy too. Had to go in and see what new Merchandise they had in right now. It was the 100th anniversary this year, so lots of memorabilia for it. Love doing my Christmas shopping for the man in my life and family too. Prices are really reasonable and such a variety of clothing and gifts. Again, support your locally-owned businesses to keep them in our communities.
The foods were incredible: the fried catfish was thick and juicy, the ribs were very smokey, tender, and tasty, the blues burger was flavorful. The banana pudding cake was too sweet for my taste. The service was quick and efficient. One gentleman who served us upstairs on a Wednesday was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. He even took the time to ask where we're from. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. The band was awesome on a Wed and Friday nights. The instrumentals were very loud, hard to hear the singer or to talk. But I highly recommend the place for the food!
Beau was our server, and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We sat upstairs, with our reservation. It was fun to listen to the music, and we enjoyed seeing it live. The food was amazing and filling! We loved that the busser allowed us to move closer to the railing to view the music better. We stayed close to three hours, and would have stayed longer, but were on a time schedule. We would recommend this place!!! We will be back if in Memphis again!
An absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding — attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere was vibrant yet comfortable, and perfectly appropriate for teenagers (our 16-year-olds felt completely at ease while accompanied). The live music was on another level — simply phenomenal. The band brought incredible energy and talent, creating an unforgettable vibe throughout the night. The drinks were top quality, well-crafted and impressive. Everyone — staff and guests alike — had great vibes. You could feel the positive energy in the room. Highly recommended for anyone looking for amazing live music, excellent service, and a fun, family-friendly night out.
This place was in one word, alive! Great music, good food and ambience. To start, the singers were fantastic! We ordered a few things to try. The chicken and waffles were yummy. There were two kinds of wings, dry rub and sauces. Both were good, but personally I preferred the dry rub. We also got the catfish and shrimp platter. Sadly, that was not nice as the fish smelled too fishy(which it shouldn’t), and the shrimp were soggy. The chicken sandwich was also delicious. We will definitely be going back
First time visiting Memphis and I wanted to check out BB Kings based on their reviews. I ordered fried okra, side of Mac n cheese, and a combined shrimp and catfish platter. Pros: the portions are a decent size, so I was able to order one platter and share with my 12 years old. The platter only came with one piece of fish but since we had the okra as a starter and Mac n cheese as a side (upcharge) it was more than enough. The Mac n cheese was good, very creamy and flavorful. The food was also hot and the service was great. The okra was very good as well, mostly because the sauce really kicks it up a notch. I also really enjoyed the hush puppies that came with the platter. Cons: in terms of the flavor of the fish and shrimp, it was okay but not great. For me, it wasn’t stand out or unique in any type of way. Would I recommend. Yes. The restaurant does play music so it can get kind of noisy and it was kid friendly (We went earlier in the evening).
Our server was great! When I ordered Non alcoholic Shirley temples, she gave my daughter extra Cherries 🍒. Rib was good but not the best. Nachos are 10+. It was just us three, and we shared our food and asked for extra plates. It wasn’t busy when we went and we saw the band setup their gear while we ate at the second floor. Overall it was good.
In terms of food, it was 3 out of 5, so a lot of emphasis was on the music. There were two bands that played throughout the afternoon towards midnight, with roughly 30 minute intermissions in between chunks of performances. Overall my partner and I enjoyed our time there, mainly because of the Memphis Soul Factory that offered phenomenal vocals. The drinks were sugary and I couldn't really taste the alcohol, which could be a plus or minus depending on what one is looking for. I was just looking for a good time so I was okay with such. The crawfish poppers didn't have the crawfish flavor, unfortunately, and relied on the sauce for such. The gumbo had a lot of black pepper in it which provided a good amount of flavor, and it was an interesting combo having it with crackers. Finally, the shrimp po boy contained a good amount of shrimp which was nice, and the fries side was fresh and tasted good. This establishment is probably one of the most well-known on Beale Street, and as much as it's a Blues club, we listened to a lot more R&B cover songs during our time there, so depending on the night, one may need to pick and choose depending on what type of music they're looking for.
The band on Friday night was entertaining. We had a large party so they sat us way in the rear. Burgers were good, the seafood platter not worth $40. The fried pickles were delightful. The waitress inquired about her tip once the bill was paid. We were not ready to leave and was not given a chance to tip her.
Came here on a weekday with some coworkers. We were in town for about 5 hours and wanted to see Beale Street. The service was really good but it was the start of lunch and I think there was only two other tables sat. We ordered the fried okra as an appetite share but very disappointed in the portion size for almost $12. We each for about five pieces. Only enough for one person. I got the chicken and ribs platter. The chicken was really good but slightly dry in the middle. The ribs were good as well. Honestly just about an average score but not as good as we hoped for in Memphis.
