Very good food and reasonably priced. A bit busy in there, so they were a bit slow in serving. I would definitely go back again.

The staff is very friendly and foregoing. There was a slight issue with my food and they immediately took care of it and were very understanding. It was replaced and they apologised many times for it. I can really recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat well, get served by amazing staff and that all for a good price.

We booked here after seeing the favourable reviews and are very glad we did. Had 800g porterhouse steak, calamari, potato skins, fish and chips, couple of beers and ice cream. The bill was unbelievably good value at 68 quid or something. Would pay that for the steak alone in London. Don't let the long menu put you off, many places that have too many options I give a wide berth but this one pulls it off well!

The location is so beautiful and not too crowded. You can have a nice cold fresh juice or a cup of coffee in that area. The restaurant it self is pretty good, so clean and has a lot of options. The meat , chicken or the seafood all are available. The meals are more than enough for one person. And the taste is so good. For sure I recommend it for everyone.

Following terrible experience of no service nearby, the opposite can be said here! It was very busy but we were found a seat straight away! Waitress came & took a drinks straight away, food order was taken promptly and was absolutely delicious when arrived. The restaurant remained understandably busy but our service still remained excellent through out the afternoon.

Stopped off here for dinner. Service would have been better. I felt like I was putting them out, but they were not rude. The food was very good, though I have to say, worth the wait, and if I go back to Gibraltar, I'd almost certainly go back here. It tasted fresh, not to oily, and was a very healthy potion I certainly did not finish all of it.

We chose this restaurant to eat our first dinner in Gibraltar and it definitely met our expectations! It's an awesome place with good food and amazing atmosphere. We ordered steak with potato and boiled vegetables - everything was perfectly prepared and tasty! Vine was really good too. We also liked the interior design as well as service - very friendly and professional. If you are looking for a restaurant with unique style and quality, this might be a good choice!

A great place.The staff were very welcoming, the menu is very varied offering many different types of fayre. I had the spare ribs which were delicious, the meat fell off the bone. Others in our party had pasta,bolognese and a chicken dish, all were well presented and were lovely. Prices were reasonable averaging £21 for a main course and 3 rounds of drinks. Recommended, we will be going back when next in Gibraltar

Wow wow!!! I need this place next door to me....OMG😩 The food was great and my steak is the biggest I have seen in my life time. Thinking about the steak right now is making me hungry. It was so good I went back the following day. The service, staff and manager were fantastic. Also the food variety was staggering. Great place to eat while in Gibraltar.

We thought we’d give Charlie’s a try, just wanted something light. It’s called a steak house but is not limited by that, they serve a wide range of food. We went for light starters and salad mains, I went for fried onions and chicken tikka salad, she went for spring rolls and a prawn salad. When it arrived, the fried onions could have been shared by ten people, it was huge. The rest was generous portions and delicious. Reasonable prices as well.

Sehr schönes Lokal. Waren hier zum Abendessen. Hatten Linsencurry und Steak. Hervorragendes Essen. Hat uns hier sehr gut gefallen.

We have dinner at Charlie's every time we visit Gibraltar and I've rated it 5 stars as we've always had an excellent meal here, however our last visit on June 2021 was very disappointing. Although the food was good, the service was absolutely appalling and it was very expensive for what we had. We'll think twice about eating in Charlie's the next time we visit Gibraltar. Edit: My partner loves this place so much, we came back. End of October 2022, they've redecorated and it looks fantastic. It was quiet so the service was much better. One thing that never disappoints here is the food which is always 5 star.

The food was sou tasty. 10/10 The mixed steak was a great item for the meat lovers who wants all kind of meat in one plate. It is enough for two people to share actually ( for moderate appetite). And the heat from buffalo wings totally hits the spot. Absolutely recommended after a nice dolphin adventure.

During my holiday in Malaga, Spain, we decided to spend our last day in Gibraltar. We spent the day exploring and came to eat around 8pm. The service was immaculate. The waiters and waitresses are so kind and polite, extremely helpful and have great knowledge of their products. The food was absolutely beautiful and I always try to find faults because that's just what I do lol but I couldn't this time! The buffalo wings were the best buffalo wings I ever had. I hate prawns but my wife loved it. The beef, oh my goodness! Delicious!!! We spent £100+ and don't regret it :)

The overall experience was better than what I expected! Food was delicious, services was great (our waiter was lovely) and the atmosphere was great - sunshine and no noise of cars and etc. Highly recommend!

Only visited here once on our last day. Sadly we wished we had done so on our first day. Always looks quiet and not as busy as other places but what a place it is. Food s clearly the nicest on that strip and service is great airing staff are attentive and the onion soup is amazing! Delicate flavours great selection of food choices on the menu. C harlie’s used to have a great bar area very similar set up to the place at the other end but I think it’s changed not sure. They need more out door sitting.and a little attention on the ambience would probably make this an even more successful place. It has been the most popular restaurant on the marina for years! Definitely recommend x

I enjoyed the pasta. Their garlic bread is good and the chicken wigs were great too. I enjoyed everything we had. Oh and the ambiance was great as well!

Actually, I should give 5 stars to the food here, but because of the very poor service and rude behavior of the staff, I subtracted one star, but the food was absolutely delicious, next to the port with a great view of the ship’s . I will definitely recommend you and of course I will come back myself and I hope the staff can fix their defects.

Had Dinner here.Mixed grill with fries,lovely food and atmosphere.The only problem we had was when we turned up 4 waitresses walk passed us without any contact with us (rude).The man who served us in the end was brilliant so made up for the rudeness.Thanks for a lovely evening....Would recommend.

We both ordered the mixed grill and it was fabulous really good food tasty and the service was equally good. The only thing that I felt strongly let the restaurant down was the bar, we were unfortunately sat next to the door which was used as a walk way between the bar and restaurant meaning constant traffic and loud drunks going behind me the entire meal, I wasn't the only person to get fed up with closing the door between the two areas. Please lock the door and have these areas seperte it would be a much nicer atmosphere for diners !

Came here for friends 18th birthday, we are on holiday from England. Bare in mind we are minimum wage hospitality workers ourselves so our standards aren’t SUPER high. Service was not very good if I’m honest. The restaurant was really not busy, I’d say even less than a quarter full, but I found myself having to wave staff over every time we needed something as they did not have the initiative to come and check on us for anything (dessert, if our food was okay, the bill). Of course if it was busy I would have no complaint, but often especially the waitresses were standing around chatting and not attending to us. The food was quite good in terms of the mains - my ribeye steak was very tasty however very fatty (I ordered medium for reference) and I couldn’t eat half of it. Dessert was bad, the apple crumble was completely tasteless and soggy. The only flavour I could get tasted like freezer. Not worth the 8 pounds. Overall we weren’t really very impressed, but not a terrible meal.

Very nicely decorated, friendly staff and very clean. Seems a very strange mix of food especially combined with curry dishes but they were nice and busy and had a good atmosphere!

TLDR: Bad service & toilets but great food. We had been recommended this by friends but were left disappointed. There were quite a few issues with the service, including being told the dish I ordered would be 'too large' for me (I ignored them, and just as well because I ate it all!), mix ups with the food ordered, and the waitress having no idea what the dishes were called when they came out. The biggest issue was one of the two ladies toilets didn't lock! This is a absolute basic, disappointed. We can't fault the food because the curry dishes were all absolutely delicious.

La mia esperienza di ieri sera non è stata entusiasmante. Mi siedo ad un tavolo da 4 occupato da una coppia dopo aver chiesto. Dopo 15 min arriva il cameriere che mi porta la carta. Dopo un po‘ ritorna dicendo che la cassa non gli permette di aprire un secondo conto allo stesso tavolo così mi fa sedere su un altro tavolo ancora da sbarazzare. Dalla carta dei vini scielgo il Codorniu Anna blanc des blanc ma mi arriva il Codorniu fatto con altre uve, pazienza, mi dico, avranno finito l‘Anna. Il ristorante intanto inizia a svuotarmi velocemente. Finalmente riesco ad ordinare: Fish & Chips, un classico. Brutta presentazione ma forse è tradizione. Le patatine sono secche ma il pesce è molto buono. Finito il piatto, per 25 minuti non vedo più nessuno del personale. Avrei preso volentieri anche un dolce ma quando finalmente arriva il cameriere, chiedo il conto. Ormai è tardi. Sul conto c‘è l‘Anna a 25€ e faccio notare che non l‘ho ricevuto. Il cameriere chiama il capo il quale tenta di convincermi che entrambi costano uguale all‘acquisto, gli faccio notare che è poco probabile ma non c‘è alcun problema, se veramente gli ha pagati lo stesso prezzo dal fornitore forse poco onesto, pagherò 25€ ma poi se ne va e torna il conto con uno sconto di 6€ che ho molto apprezzato. La posizione del locale è ottima ma sono poco organizzati e perciò non ci tornerò.

Fantastic drinks and lovely seating. Food was about average. The chicken tikka was decent but the peppery Jamaican pot was more indo-chinese than Caribbean.

Went in at 7pm looking for a table for 4, was told fully booked..even though plenty of empty tables....decided to reserve on line and we did a booking for 8pm, amazing considering was told the evening was fully booked... Ordered the food, arrives promptly and indeed was very nice....our server just brought the food and no offer for sauces etc until we asked....no one approached our table to ask if the food was ok and if we needed anything else...we paid £130 and promptly left with simply not good enough service, maybe just our server, but thought the meal was simply let down by the service

i came here for my friends 18th birthday dinner and was expecting a very good dinner out, however, there were some issues. For one, my friends both ordered a steak, one medium and one medium well, yet when they received the steaks, they were definitely medium rare and were quite fatty and bloody, which is disappointing. The service was also not great, our server seemed like she had better places to be when taking our order, and we waited a long time between ordering each thing and we had to consistently flag waiters down to keep ordering. Overall, the food was okay, mine was very nice, however, the steaks were disappointing.

Good service. The 2 sword meat dishes were very dry but we had one taken off the bill in fairness. Pleasant enough place with a fun bar section. Decent variety of meat slabs, fritters,pastes,cheese chunks,mixed veggies, fish hot pots, purées and hot pies. Would have been four stars but plates were cold, making the food cool a little quicker than if have liked. Having said that, food cooked well, flavour good. Presented reasonably well, although a tad more attention to detail would have made the difference. Would recommend but don't take a leisurely pace eating or it might go cold.....

I’m not from Gibraltar but had this place recommended to me. Sad to say I wouldn’t go back. The food was very good as I was told, but the service was abysmal. The Male waiter was rude and wasn’t very attentive. He forgot multiple things on our table. Steak knives, drinks, sides. It’s a shame because the other male waiter you could see was much better at the other tables. When we finished our meal and received our bill to pay, as individuals we split our parts and it wasn’t adding up. Eventually a waitress who was as confused as us was able to explain that a service charge had been added. This was not disclosed to us on arrival, or on the receipt, nor should you have to pay a service charge when the service is shocking. They shouldn’t expect to receive any service charge if they fail to deliver a service. As law states if it is a mandatory service charge it can only be enforced when “made clear to the customer” The restaurants excuse was new technology but none the less extremely poor service, we asked to speak to a manager to provide constructive feedback, but the male waiter was reluctant to let us speak to any. Finally a female waitress agreed with us and was happy to remove the charge. Muttering to herself sarcastically as she walked away, was another poor outlook on the staff. For anyone visiting Gibraltar I’d look elsewhere.

Charlies used to be my favourite with family visiting since they offer such a big range of food choices such as curries, burgers, steaks, salads, fish etc. We went there recently after a Dolphin Adventure which gives you a 10% discount but the service has dropped considerably. I know Charlies as having really friendly staff, always happy to help, smile on their faces and they look after you well (especially with children) but it's completely different these days. It took us about 20+ mins to even come to our table on a quiet monday. I went to go inside to speak to a waitress and before I could even ask a question the older waitress shouts "ONE SECOND ONE SECOND! I'LL BE WITH YOU IN ONE SECOND!" and rushed past me (bit rude), wouldn't even speak with me. The food wasnt great, the spicy chicken burger sounds amazing but its absolutely huge and the coating is pretty poor, its not crispy but very floury and soft. The waitress asked us for sauces but never gave them, so we asked again and she said she'd bring them but again she forgot (bit of a pain if you have an English kid who needs ketchup with his chips!). She eventually brought them over at the end of the meal but it was a bit late then. So the service let it down, and for the week holiday it was sadly the worst dining experience we had. Nothing worse than waiting a long time to order drinks with your meal too. It's a great location but the service has dropped considerably from years ago. Easily fixed with some decent table waiting and better customer service. Hope it improves in future but can't see the family ever wanting to go back sadly. It used to be the best in Gib where I'd take everyone who visited and have christmas dinners there too with clients. Not sure what's happened!

This was the one big disappointment of our trip for several reasons- the only reason it has two stars is because the actual food was good. Firstly, we had researched the restaurant before we went and the menu looked good and reasonably priced. We were therefore shocked when the menu we were given whilst having exactly the same dishes had prices that were very significantly higher than their menu on their own website on the same day (I do have photos to prove this if they try to disagree). For example spare ribs £16.95 website, £22 restaurant; fillet steak £22.95 website, £31.95 restaurant; burger £12.95 website, £15.95 restaurant. Secondly, the service was not good although the restaurant was not particularly busy they all preferred to huddle inside chatting and trying to get served was a challenge. Thirdly, the ladies restroom was disgusting - one of the toilets didn’t flush, there was toilet paper all over the floor and a dreadful smell. I appreciate customers left it in that state but they obviously don’t check it. To balance this the food we did have was well cooked and tasty but we would not return here and would not recommend it.

been here 3 times. each time i get something new and havent found anything that was really worth the price or anything special. i went with a large party recently and they asked us to pre order. they got my burger wrong twice. at this point i wasnt that hungry and just wanted them to take the burger back and off the bill and that id just have fries. she insisted she could fix it and i said no thank you just fries please. 15 minutes later she brings a new burger and fries.... so i was forced to pay for an over priced burger i didnt want that was still wrong the third time. They also seemed to have overcharged by about £50. They never came around to our table the entire time we were there. terrible service and experiences all around which is a shame for such a good location. will not come back

We arrived today just before 2pm, we sat outside right at the entrance of your game room(right side of the picture after the glass wall), where we saw a already eating on one of the table, most of the clients were inside, but we choose to stay in sunlight. After 20 minutes nobody didn’t even notice us, so I went inside and ask for some menu books, the waiter said he is sorry, but they are busy(almost half of your tables were full and I saw that are at least 4 waiters). I wonder what would happen at full capacity. In about 4 minutes we decided what to order, but even after 30 minutes, nobody came to take or order. After about 35 minute the short bearded waiter finally remembered about us, and asked his woman colleague to came pick our order and he spoke not polite about us in Spanish, except my wife speaks Spanish. He claimed that you only serve peoples from inside. In over 10 years of international traveling in more than 15 countries we’ve never had such horrific experience. Why do you have outside tables if you don’t server outside? Also do you think is normal to wait with a 3 years old hungry kid for about 1 hour before someone should take your order? I’ve seen busier restaurants and never had to wait that long. We left without ordering because the waiter was speaking rude in Spanish about us. Let him know he is in the wrong business, since hospitality is not for him.

One of the biggest discrepancies between the Google review score and my personal experience I have ever come across. The service was truly awful. I'm aware it was a busy time of day, but you should turn customers away if you are unable to handle even the basics within a reasonable time frame. We waited nearly 25 minutes just for a menu. We asked a waiter for menus at 14.00 and he never came back, we then asked another member of staff for menus again, who took another 10 minutes. We then tried to order food and drinks, but the waiter said he wasn't trained to take food orders and never came back with the drinks either. We waved another member of staff down 10 minutes later, and they finally put through our food and drink order. The food and drinks came out within 5 minutes once we'd actually ordered. However, we then asked for salt, and the waitress wandered off, but again, she never came back with the salt. The food was fine, but nothing special and barely Whetherspoons quality. The roast beef had the texture of leather and was very dry. The sides of steamed frozen vegetables were pretty tasteless, and the cheese sauce didn't add much either. The Yorkshire pudding was super soggy and cold, and the gravy didn't add much to the dish either. The roast potatoes were quite good, but they didn't make up for how disappointing the rest of the dish was. The bbq burger was equally disappointing. The salad tasted like it was prepped the previous day. The chips had been cooked in very dirty oil and were nearly inedible. Finally, the burger itself was ok, but needed much more seasoning and was a bit dry. It's a lovely location, and it seems a shame they managed to get so many basic things so incredibly wrong. Perhaps it was just a really bad day for both the kitchen and FoH. I had to chase down staff at every point during the meal, and even when paying, I waited 10 minutes with the bill before giving up and walking up to the till to pay.
