Un clásico que no falla. Chocolate espeso, churros y porras como deben ser, y ese ambiente que mezcla historia, tradición y Madrid puro. Da igual la hora a la que vayas, siempre hay vida y siempre apetece. El servicio es rápido y eficiente, acostumbrado a no parar ni un minuto. No es solo ir a comer churros, es formar parte de una costumbre que pasa de generación en generación. Hay sitios que no necesitan reinventarse, solo seguir haciendo bien lo que llevan haciendo toda la vida.

El local situado en pleno centro de Madrid, abierto las 24 horas. Siempre que paso por delante está lleno de gente. Pedí 3 churros y un chocolate por un total de 5,20 €. Primero hay que pedir en la barra, luego entregar el ticket a los camareros, elegir mesa y esperar a que te traigan la comida. El local tiene mesas al aire libre y zona interior. Los camareros son muy simpáticos y agradables, y el servicio es rápido.

Fuimos dos días seguidos, el primer dia desayunamos churros con chocolate y estaban buenísimos y el segundo dia desayunamos un sándwich, un mollete de jamón ibérico y dos zumos y la verdad es k no se que estaba mas bueno. Chocolatería y churrería de tradición. Imperdible en tu visita en Madrid. En ocasiones hay fila muy larga pero avanza rápido porque mucha gente decide comprar para llevárselos comiendo mientras caminan. Y si quieres sentarte en el lugar no tendrás que esperar tanto tiempo, ya que tienen tres zonas para poder pasar y sentarte tranquilamente a disfrutar de tus churros. Tuve una experiencia un poco chusca ya que el café americano como yo lo conozco, ahí no lo nombran así. Ahí sería cafe con agua simplemente Si solo pides café, te darán un espresso. Típico en Europa.

Churros with chocolate dip were amazing. The perfect way to start the morning with a boost of energy. The churros were crispy and not greasy at all. However, I personally prefer the larger version (I can’t remember the name); it’s softer and absorbs the chocolate better. I’d recommend trying both. I arrived around 9:00 a.m., and it wasn’t crowded at all, so there was no wait. Plus, this place has many branches throughout Madrid.

Their speciality, churros, were good and as expected. I’d say is nothing spectacular, but still good. Also the coffee is good and the prices are fair. Lucky it was not a big queue as it was Monday 11am. You need to pay before seating.

What an epic experience to be watching so many people from around the world enjoying chocolate dipped churros at this historic site for so many months and finally arriving in Madrid and having the opportunity to experience it ourselves! It definitely did not disappoint. In fact it was even better than we imagined! The churros are slightly salty and crispy without being oily and the chocolate is not too sweet and very rich and lucious. It's a perfect combination! The staff are all very warm and friendly. We had an opportunity to sit down stairs and the atmosphere was very charming! We have another 4 days and I have a feeling this was just the first of several visits! 😉 We went back another night when there das a huge line up. Although it took an hour to get in, everything was organized and orderly and it actually felt pretty quick when chatting with friends and anticipating the fresh crispy churros and plump fluffy porras! We got in by midnight and had another wonderful experience! Thanks for the memories!

Heavenly churros. Fried perfectly that they don’t retain oil. Out crunchy and super addictive. Paired with out of this world molten chocolate… can there be a dessert heaven on earth? Here it is! Believe me, at a 120 years old, this chocolateria has got churros and chocolate down to an art form.

We came all the way from Australia, and for a churro lover like me, San Ginés felt like a pilgrimage, and it was totally worth it. We visited twice during our trip: once seated downstairs, which has a charming old-world vibe with vintage mirrors, and once upstairs in the brighter area that’s perfect for photos. Both are worth experiencing, and the celebrity photo collages add a fun touch. The queue outside moves quickly (and honestly, it’s part of the fun. You’ll get some great pics for your Instagram highlights while waiting). Though the café was busy, the staff at the counter were kind and patient, happy to explain the menu and help us decide. The churros were crisp, warm, and light, while the hot chocolate was rich with a lovely cocoa flavour, slightly thinner than expected, but perfect for sipping once the churros were gone. Everything was served at just the right temperature for the winter weather, and the vanilla ice cream was delicious too. Even when it’s crowded (which it always is), the staff keep everything moving without making you feel rushed. This place truly lives up to the hype. We loved it so much that we went twice, and we’d happily come again next time we’re in Madrid. For churro lovers... or anyone who believes dessert is a perfectly valid reason to travel, this place is a must-visit.

One of the better chocolate and churro places in Madrid. It’s been around since 1894 and has one of the commemorative plaques from the city to recognize that. We ordered the traditional chocolate and order of 6 churros. The chocolate was warm, thick and rich full of dark chocolate flavour. The churros were hot, light and crispy on the outside and slightly tender on the inside. The place is super busy. Packed with tourists with a sprinkling of locals. There are multiple seating areas inside and outside, they almost occupy the entire corner of the street up to the Plaza of San Gines. If you don’t want to a it at a table there is takeaway service. You have to order and pay first then are given a ticket before you can queue for a table. If you sit inside you can check out the pictures of all the famous people that have visited over the years. The wait for a table isn’t too bad as people usually leave after about 15 minutes anyways.

The place offering hot chocolate and churros at any time of the day you want, but be prepared to wait for sometime as it's usually crowded. The taste is rich and pure, not very sweet and just apt. There is also a small bar/cafeteria for stopping by within this, but their best-seller is hot chocolate with churros. A must try for something very local and from one of the oldest places in the city, that has been running for years...

Esta chocolatería es muy famosa en la ciudad de Madrid. Si bien es verdad que hablan mucho de este lugar, yo cuando fui me pedí un chocolate caliente, dos churros y otras dos porras, lo típico. Fui por la noche, después de cenar y aún así había una fila bastante considerable. Lo pedí todo para llevar. Los churros eran normales, no estaban malos aunque tampoco era para tirar cohetes. El chocolate, eso sí, muy rico, ni muy ralo ni muy espeso. Se podía tomar con relativa facilidad. Otro aspecto importante es que abren 24 horas!! Sitio especial para visitar, aunque imagino que a ciertas horas del día la espera será algo desesperante

Un clásico en Madrid en lo que se refiere a los churros con chocolate, aunque no soy muy fan del chocolate con churros la verdad no estaban mal, tampoco nada especial los he probado incluso mejores. La atención fue rápida y si algo no recomiendo fue su café solo estaba bastante mal calibrada su máquina o molinillo.

El chocolate magnífico, los churros normales, estuvimos a gusto a pesar de que había mucha gente, me gustaría volver algun día más tranquilo , tiene un salón en el sótano para estar tranquilo y calentito. También se puede pedir para llevar. Los baños... Como he dicho había mucha gente y estaban regular.. Cuando vuelva, si están mejor cambiaré a 5 Star, por ahora 4. Saludos.

I’ve never been a fan of churros, but I had to try it at this place since everyone was talking about it and I have to admit that it is a pretty good thing! The reason I’m giving 4 stars is the vibe.. too much pressure about where to sit. And as soon as you do, everyone, including the staff is looking whether you finished your churros so the seats could be available. Other than that - it was a great meal indeed.

It has a lot of locations in the same area, one next to the other, and it was full on a Tuesday night! 📍The Venue: All the locations seem very traditional and comfy. 🍽️The Churros: Obviously, we got the churros. Honestly, they were good—not oily and well-made. The only thing is that I felt the chocolate was more like a soup; I think I’m more used to a thicker consistency. The chocolate was also bitter, and I prefer a milkier and sweeter kind (I’m not sure if they offer another type). They are also a bit expensive, which I think is because of their popularity. 💁🏻‍♀️The Service: They were nice and attentive. 💭Final Thoughts: It was nice, but it wasn't something that blew my mind. Maybe it's just not my taste. Even though I still think it’s a nice spot to try some treats.

Visitar la Chocolatería San Ginés vale más por su historia y tradición que por la excelencia de su elaboración o servicio. Los churros con chocolate son, de hecho, buenos, crujientes y el chocolate es denso y reconfortante. Sin embargo, la experiencia consiste en visitar ese espacio cargado de historia y movimiento, que funciona las 24 horas del día. Es para vivir la tradición turística y local. Puedes encontrar una calidad similar en otros lugares, posiblemente con un mejor servicio.

The churros were a bit cold and oily. The chocolate was rich but not too sweet, and tasted good. You had to eat fast while the chocolate still warm. Overall, the flavor was a bit too oily and needed to be eaten with water. However, the service was excellent.

Let‘s be honest: the churros don‘t taste good. They are not fresh enough and too hard. I also tried the big PORRAS that amazed me by their size. However it is nothing else than a fatty, bigger, and a bit softer churro that looks like something common to every man and some happy women. Nevertheless, the hot chocolate is amazing and the best I‘ve tried so far. You won‘t regret this drink. It has an very strong chocolate taste but not too sweet. It‘s the perfect alternative for people who don‘t drink hot vine at Christmas markets. Another good point is that it is open 24/7, which makes it the perfect spot for late-night chocolate dates, after-party rendez-vous, and hopefully not cheating women. The hot chocolate warms your heart and makes you happy. You stop thinking about Trump and the current geopolitical situation but enjoy the moment in beautiful Madrid.

Desde mi punto de vista, es más una parada turística que un lugar para comer buenos churros. Los churros estaban aceitosos, probablemente por querer producir muchos en poco tiempo sin cuidar adecuadamente la temperatura del aceite. El chocolate es rico, un poco amargo, pero eso sí, contrasta bien con el churro. En conclusión, no son los mejores churros. No lo recomiendo: el sabor no es bueno, la atención no es rápida y hay mucha gente para la poca cantidad de mesas disponibles.
