We had dinner here tonight on a very rare date night and this Restaurant did not disappoint. My wife fancied 2 starters instead of a main which were served promptly and were very tasty. I had Lamb with South Indian chilli garlic sauce. It was fantastic. Highly recommend this as a place to eat.

We enjoyed a meal here before heading to the SEC for an event. The food was delicious, served with a smile and we felt very well looked after. The chicken tikka sizzler from the tandoori mains was awesome. Good portions and piping hot.

My favourite indian restaurant in Glasgow. Handy if your seeing a show at the Hydro,Armadillo or SECC. Two minutes walk to each venue

We had a family birthday meal for 11 people. The service was superb. RAJ went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic time. He gave the birthday girl a nice dessert with a candle and arranged for us all to sing happy birthday. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I always use this Indian restaurant and I've never been disappointed. Most of the people attending were from out of town so had never visited the restaurant before and they were all very impressed with the service and the food. We will use the restaurant again for family celebrations. Thanks again RAJ.

Went here to celebrate a birthday with family and it was excellent. All food and service was amazing. Raj recommended 2 meals to people in our group (chicken tikka moonga and chicken murgh kata mita) and both were delicious! Will definitely be back!

Food was great, I mean really great. Some nice seating but didn't enjoy looking into a store cupboard. Back of the display screen needs a good dusting.

Absolutely amazing staff over and above, and food wow. The flavour of our food was bursting off the plate. I love this place. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our time eating here. 😋

Really great fine done setup with excellent ambience and location. We had Dal tadka and aubergine meal which was really good. Also had really amazing veg parantha. Ending the meal with amazing Gulaab jamun with ice cream side which definitely a must try at India quay. Total worth dining here. Vishal who served us was really welcoming and helpful.

Very tasty food, well presented. Raj was an excellent host and recommended a very tasty moonga. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. Will definitely be back again. Back again, Lamb Desi was amazing. Tender lamb. Wicked lady zinfandel washed it down well.

Top curry, I really enjoyed. I had a proper sizzling tandoori mix. It was all lovely. We will be visiting again for sure

Great food. Samosas are as close as they can get to home. We went with the Chef recommendation for Desi Paneer and it was absolutely great in taste at par or better than anything back home ! Highly recommended! Great local Whisky !

Warm welcome , then great assistance with my food order . Great recommendations and the outcome was the best Indian food I had in years . Veg and chicken pakoras were gorgeous, then the recommendation of Chicken Masala was spot on . Spinder my server said she would get some of the sauce to try me try for spice . Not had this happen before , and it was a good move. I liked it . Had a great meal . Great service Highly recommend. Thanks to the team …

I highly recommend the India Quay Restaurant. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, the service was excellent and most importantly the food was delicious.

Folks at the hotel recommended this place, and they were very friendly and accommodating given we showed up near closing time. The tandoor sizzlers were very good (and indeed sizzling!) and the curries we ordered were flavorful and balanced. A good place to unwind after (for example) a long day of hiking.

The most attentive and caring staff I've ever come across, which is why we will insist on coming here time and time again. The food is bloody incredible, everything from start to finish is absolutely exceptional. Cannot say enough about the staff, honestly, so so lovely. Thank you for another great evening with " mamma" we can't wait to come back!

Really quick service. Lovely atmosphere. Food is so good! Come here everytime I have something in the Hydro. Popadoms, mango chutney & spicy onions are a must. Chicken Tikka Chasni is so creamy. Partner had the South Indian and really enjoyed it. Toilets are upstairs where there is also a buffet option.

First time visit to this very good Indian establishment facing Glasgow's Squinty Bridge on the Clyde Quayside. We had booked a table for 3.The attention and service was terrific. Poppadums were crisp and dry so we were off to a good start. ⁸Lamb Patia Butter Chicken and Chicken Bhuna were all very tasty,Lamb was a tad chewy could have been more tender but it was perfectly palatable. The Paratha and chapatis, always a highlight were excellent. Flavoured Ice cream and coffee finished the meal beautifully.Several Kingfisher beers were quaffed which brought the bill to a reasonable £105 for 3 including a tip. The restaurant is modern and spacious on 2 floors.Toilets are upstairs🥺 There is no traditional indian murals or decoration but ambiance is bright and comfortable.Quite a walking distance to our intended destination "The Ferry" venue for those with any mobility issues. Very pleasant evening's Asian dining experience.

This place has the best Indian food I’ve ever had! And I loved that I could get a dairy free curry

Booked a table here before a show in SEC. We both ordered starter and main course and the food was amazing. The restaurant was busy despite that we still got a good service and atmosphere was nice.

Saturday weekend and we were lucky to get space inside this lovely restaurant when we just decided to walk-in without prior appointment. Thanks to the lovely staff for accommodating us. The restaurant had a variety of cuisine and we had gone for chicken tikka sizzler, paneer sizzler, staff chicken curry with naan and other sides. Staff were lovely and asked for the preferred cooking style. The food was very tasty and to our liking. Kids also enjoyed the food. Ambience inside is appealing and clean. Must visit with family and friends especially if you love Indian cuisine.

Omg! Honestly I believe the best Indian meal I have ever had! The naan bread was like air! Yet tasted like heaven! Stupidly poetic I know but cannot describe how good it was. The very fabulous Raj (my attentive, friendly and knowledgeable waiter) advised me on the best choice for me based on what I was looking for. Raj recommended the Moonag which is on the menu with King Prawn, as I don't eat prawns he suggested the chicken tikka ... guy knows his stuff... it was amazing! And I must mention the fabulous spicy onions and raita I had with my delicious poppadoms! Honestly. Fabulous. Hubby and I came a few times when it first opened and since. But not been for 15 years as we moved south. I am travelling alone and don't mind dining alone but Raj made me feel comfortable and did not rush me despite the appearance of lone diners. I know where I will be dining every time I am back in Glasgow. Best ever.. India Quay at Finnieston. Ask for Raj x

Great location. Food is anglicised Indian food. Loved the taste. Spices were right. Ordered mixed meat biriyani, naan, panneer makhani and shashlik chicken. Nice ambience and music. Tad pricy. Had a good time.

A much underestimated Restaurant which I have visited on several occasions, and it always seems to improve. Their tandoori mix grill is the best I have had anywhere (and there has been a few). Perhaps too much food for the excellent price. The staff are all very good and friendly, and went beyond the call of duty getting us a taxi late on Saturday night. Always good for a late visit after a night at the Hydro, Armadillo ect. Thanks.

Visited here for the 1st time when I was back 'Home' in holiday, and so glad we did!!! Ideally located next to the hotels & concert venues of the SECC footprint. We were welcomed warmly & served by the most amazing Raj !!!!! Menu had all the favorites we love on it, and the food was delicious and served at an appropriate pace. Service was impeccable, & so much so we went back later during our trip for some more bites!

Must try The Staff Curry i.e. curry of the day. Flavourful and different. Nice chapati and a delicious Jaipuri for me as well. Raj is so friendly and informative about all their curries. It is definitely for the refined tastes and not simply heat heat heat. Love it. Must come again.

J
Jon Adams

Vibrant and lovely food. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Always worth reserving, in case it's a busy night, as it's never empty. The dishes are reasonably priced, as are the drinks. The curries are generous portions, so generous that I would have been happy to have more rice. You could easily eat in the £10-£20 category if you were not drinking anything but water, but it would also be possible to spend more if you bought lots of starters. Curries generally range from £11-£19, with rice and breads separate.

We had a delightful experience! When we inquired about the food, the proprietor enthusiastically explained the menu and provided a wonderful back story for each dish. He was exceptionally friendly and kind. The food was top, each dish was flavorful and the best meal we had on our trip! Go there! Now!

Nice Indian place in Glasgow close to the waterfront and many hotels there 🏨 The reservation works well through the website and also the “check in”, was flawless 👍 Also the service while ordering was excellent - we got useful tips what to order in combination with our main dishes. The place can become a bit noisy when many people are there. Thanks for the good time 🙌

Great location if you’re going for a pre-show dinner ahead of an SEC visit. Our paneer sizzlers were super tasty. A choice of marinated and accompanying sauce, both very tasty. The naan bread was a bit flat and lifeless - far prefer them to be light and fluffy. Service was good but sparse. Tried so many times to get staff attention but they walk around with blinkers on. All in all, a decent place to visit.

We ate here before a show at the Armadillo. The food was fine - not great, not awful - but we have been left with an incredibly sour taste in our mouths after our experience with the service charge. We were unaware that a 10% service charge had been automatically added to the bill, and were then actively encouraged by wait staff to add on a tip (another one!) when paying using the card machine. We were in a rush so did this automatically out of habit but it was really sneaky and deceptive to not be made aware of the fact we had already paid a service charge when we were being asked to tip! We regularly tip in restaurants however we have never experienced this before and would never have knowingly left a 30% tip on our meal. We will not be back on principle - absolutely shocking behaviour

We'd ordered paneer sizzler, dal makkhani, samosa, garlic naan and tandoori roti. The food was piping hot and portion size was adequate. Samosa was good and so was chole. Paneer in the sizzler was hard & chewy. We quite didn't enjoy the sweet & sour sauce of sizzler. Dal wasn't dal makkhani. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty, however, it's preparation was like a mix dal. Naan and tandoori roti were the store bought kinds, not the freshly made types. Overall, it was an overpriced average meal.

What has happened…. I reviewed this restaurant 5 years ago and without a doubt it was my favourite Indian restaurant in the city and since then we have visited often and were always satisfied with the service and the food was constantly excellent until tonight! What has happened? New owners, new chef or something else! On arrival we were greeted and shown to our reserved table and drinks order taken which arrived promptly The order for the meal was taken we always order the same dish on our visits Noted that the size of the sharing platter has shrunk over the years 2 small chicken pakora, 1 x small vegetable pakora, 1 onion ring and a samosa each (we opted for no chicken chaat) The main arrived chicken tikka chasni The dish arrived and I was about to say I don’t think that is our dish the server confirmed the dish was chicken tikka chasni, the dish looks nothing like the past dishes we have had and worse than that it was almost tasteless! The nann bread was crispy in sections The meal was ok and only ok and fell well short of the meal we travelled in to the city for! The new POS system for card payments gives you a choice of tip eg 10% 20% then customise in this instance I would not have tipped as the food fell short of expectations but I was not for customising the service charge at the table side under supervision of the server Through out the meal there was constant moving of furniture upstairs and obviously do not realise how noisy this was down stairs lifting the tables and chairs rather than dragging them would have been a simple fix Unfortunately will not be rushing back The restaurant is spacious with good disabled access via the doors at the side of the rotating door, dining is available on this level and on the upper level Gents and female toilets are on the upper floor Location of disabled toilets unknown No parking for this restaurant though street parking is available a short distance away and SEC multi-storey is a short walk form this location The staff still maintain covid perception and we’re using masks and good cleaning of tables between guests was witnessed The restaurant site is well suited to a pre gig meal if you are attending the hydro or SEC Note: this is an update to my past review 5years ago is which I said this was a 5star restaurant and best in town 😔

We had chicken tikka masala and butter chicken, plus plain rice , nan etc, The service and presentation is excellent but the original Indian spicy taste is missing except for the starters tendori plate

Inauthentic Indian food. Sludgy sauces. Bhaji very strange. Plentiful food but not high quality. Tough meat. Staff were very attentive. £48 per head inc 2 glasses of wine. So not expensive...just weird food.

What all the hype about this Restaurant has lost me . Nothing to write home about. Very tired looking Restaurant. Our starters were OK mix platter was kind of Greasy. My lamb sizzler was tender but lacked spice flavour. Rice fresh. Pickled salad fresh enough. But the main part of ANY INDIAN RESTAURANT is there sauce with mains. Well ive never tasted such a watery bhoona sauce like it no spice taste what so ever, costs peanuts for onions and spices to put life in the sauce. 2 wedges of tomato dumped into this water sauce to be fair its terrible. Before going to Hydro etc don't go out your way for this Restaurant there mega more Quality restaurants all over Glasgow . Chakoo bombay ( St.vincent st) is Fantastic

Not very good at all. Ordered a home delivery and it is not what it should be, nothing like the restaurant quality.

Imagine biryani as a symphony: fragrant spices dancing with tender meat or vibrant veg, basmati fluffier than a cloud, all harmonizing in your mouth. Now picture that symphony hijacked by a tone-deaf orchestra of incompetence—welcome to Indian Quay, where “biryani” is just plain rice dyed for camouflage, served with a side of “rogan ghost” (their epic pronunciation fail of rogan josh), turning chicken biryani into flavorless mush and veg biryani into boiled veggie sadness. We arrived hopeful after a long day in chilly Glasgow, ordering the classics: chicken biryani for me, veg for my wife. What arrived? Simple rice with some fake color to pretend it’s biryani—no spices, no saffron whisper, no cardamom kiss, no cumin kick—just bland nothingness. Both dishes shared the exact same sad, unseasoned rice, with my chicken chunks boiled in regret and that separate rogan josh gravy making it catastrophically worse, like drowning mediocrity in greasy slop. My wife’s veg version? Solely boiled potatoes and cauliflower—no carrots, no variety, purely flavorless oblivion, like veggies drowned in water then abandoned. We’ve savored biryani from Mumbai street carts to London fine-diners; this was the undisputed nadir, a culinary black hole sucking the soul out of South Asian staples. Worst of all, the waitresses hovered like vultures, standing there gawking at our mounting disappointment as we tasted the disaster—zero intervention, just awkward surveillance of our misery. Service was polite but powerless against the kitchen disaster. Skip this place unless you hate flavor and love disappointment. Glasgow has some other real gems like Dishoom or Kinara—do yourself a favor and biryani elsewhere. Indian Quay: 0/10, would not reincarnate.
