We spend between $40 to $100 each month. It is our favorite halal food place around the Franklin Square New Hyde Park area. We also tried the cart style ones around Little Neck and Hillside Ave and this place blows them out of the water in price, quantity and quality. Each platter can be split for two servings if you wanted to. We usually buy the lamb and chicken rice platters which we love. But we have tried the chicken burger, beef burger, and the Philly cheesesteak also. The chicken sandwich was presented to us beautifully but is dry and horrendous, they need to do better. I can make a better beef burger at home. And the philly cheesesteak is more like a chopped cheese hero. The Philly is not too bad but there is very little meat for the price and you may still be hungry afterwards. The servers here are friendly and quick and efficient. And the place is pleasant to eat in if you choose to. I would stick to their platters or their gyros when ordering.

Food tasted great, and service was fast. 3rd time ordering from this place. However, they did get one of my orders wrong. I will come back again, tho. hopefully, it won't happen again. Plenty of sitting space and parking is available.

Food was good. I love lamb and chicken combo platters. Good price and tastes fresh and yummy. Was a little on the spicy side but that’s okay. Updated 7/24 - came back again and it wasn’t as spicy this time it was much better. Would come back here.

Back to loving this place. The prices have increased a lot from when I first started coming here but this is my favorite chicken over rice place and always bring every one here who’s visiting NY and they all LOVE IT. The customer service has been consistently amazing lately . The chicken over rice is so filling. I always get extra White sauce & Green sausage because it's so good!!! The level of service depends how busy it is at the time.

Walking to the place and outside smelled like trash but inside it smelled like spices which I love. The food is your average halal food but with extra flavor. I love all the different sauces and the falafel.

I had a good lunch here one afternoon. I would go back for lunch. The place was clean, it was not to crowded. The menu was simple and easy to put something together and also seemed to have different options I would try next time. There is plenty of parking to that is nice. I didn't go to the bathroom so I couldn't comment on handicap or not. There are no steps into the place though. Til next time Shah's.

Disappointed:( ordered two lines of sauce and this is what they gave me . I just did a grab and go . Disappointing when you order your usual and don’t get the usual amount of sauce .

This is a decent place for some falafel or meat platters, gyros or baklavas. Looks like a local business and doesn’t look fancy. I’m also not that sure of the hygiene. We ordered few veg platters and the quantity for a $9 platter was good, quality of the food was ok (not up to the mark). Their falafel is of soft types and not crispy (I like crispy falafel). Not sure if I care to visit again.

My kid had a hankering for street meat, or otherwise known as halal. How surprised was I to find out that a new one had opened up in our neighborhood. Went with the chicken and lamb over rice. The person in front of me got some kind of gyro and the chicken was piled high giving me a reassuring feeling that there would be a real debate of quality over quantity. Got the lettuce, Greek salad, peppers and onions (my kid's weird) with white sauce and spicy sauce on the side. The server actually recommended it warning that it was spicy. She was right. Ok. So the meat was ok and tasty. It wasn't the same as eating fresh off the cart since the portions are precooked and held in a warming tray. The white sauce tasted mayo based and like I said, the spicy sauce was actually spicy. The Greek salad bits were refreshing but not what I was used to. My daughter said she felt kind of sick afterwards, but isn't that part of an authentic experience? The price was fine for what you got. With coming back if you get the urge.

Note* this review was done late so I don’t embarrass the worker. But I think it’s a new person working. He has no hair net nor a cap. When I walked in, I immediately was cautious knowing there might be hair in my food. When I got my food it was easy to spot that there indeed was a hair. But I went back inside and he apologized and served me a fresh gyro. But yet I didn’t see him wear anything to cover his head. The food is a hit but management needs to do it’s job ensuring employees are followings protocols.

This place used to be good, food has always been tasty but they have cut the portion down by alot the last visit, barely any protein, like 3 bites and gone. Same with rice, they used to fill the entire container with rice, last visit was half. Not planning to return. Not worth the money anymore
