Great place! Excellent food and the staff is super sweet!
We got takeout 3 times. Each time was very good! Highly recommended!
Food is great, staff is great! Beautiful place! Highly recommended!!!
Well if your looking for a family friendly place where your food is cooked perfectly for a reasonable price look no further by far the best place to eat great Mediterranean food I have ever been to I recommend it to all who are hungry 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Great food great drinks. Awesome service. Couldn't be happier with my experience here.
First time. Ordered lunch chicken kabob and sage fave both dishes were superb!
Excellent food & service. Never disappoints. Looking forward to next meal there.
You can always depend on wonderful food and friendly service at Sage Bistro.
I’m inventing reasons to travel a half hour to buy their hummus. Simply the best.
Wonderful, delicious food and great service! Definitely will be back.
The food is absolutely delicious, worth every penny
Excellent service! Food always fresh and delicious!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Excellent food. Our server Brandon was the bomb
Food and service were both great.
Wonderful as always. Best humus on the planet
Our favorite restaurant when we go back up to Albany! Sage Bistro is truly one of the Capital District's best restaurant's in my opinion. Very warm feeling and the owner/chef Joe is a great guy. Locally made gelato in the front as soon as you walk in :)
One of our favorite go-to restaurants in the area. Delicious, fresh and healthy food. Love the salmon dish and everything is a nice size portion wise.
We returned to Sage Bistro for another great meal. The food was especially fresh, flavorful and portions generous. The staff very friendly.
Was in the area, saw the good reviews, placed a to-go order for pick up.... Great food! The staff was friendly, the food was ready on time and it was DELICIOUS. I raced to Google to leave my 5 star review 👍👍
The staff is very friendly and food is excellent. Plenty of options, but you must try the hummus! You can easily stop in during lunch hour and get in and out without being late back to work :)
Truly enjoyed lunch here with friends. Fresh ingredients, delicious recipes, and lamb kabob was cooked perfectly. Will definitely return.
I had heard good things about the restaurant, and they were right! The food was delicious, the service excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed.
I love the house dressing here. I tried the chicken pesto panini and chicken gyro for lunch and both were fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and try other things. Will be back for dinner.
I have visited Sage many times and have never had a bad dinner or service.. Always friendly and attentive.. Menu offerings are very creative and well prepared.. Highly recommend Sage for an evening out.
One of my favorite places to eat. Everything is fresh and delicious. The smoked Gouda chicken and hummus are to die for!
Staff are helpful and friendly. Food is delicious. I had a salad with chicken. Dressing. Dessert gelato was delicious. Nice portions. Will definitely come back!
Sage Bistro in Guilderland is my go-to for lunch take-out! Their paninis are amazing—perfectly toasted with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The cranberry turkey panini is my favorite, with its juicy turkey, tangy cranberry sauce, and perfect crunch. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring my order is always ready on time and hot. Highly recommend for a delicious, quick lunch!
TOP NOTCH - FIRST CLASS - DYNAMITE - BLOWN AWAY with Everything About this place! Met the owner's and honestly some of the nicest ppl i have met! They aim to please and certainly "Tastes" in the food! My cousin had gotten married and had his reception at the Sage Bistro... My fiance and I Including ALL the guests that joined the reception were certainly impressed on every level. There's not one thing on the menu I think you should try BECAUSE YOU need to try it ALL!!! I practice vegetarian and in those moments I ate the beef, I ate the salmon, even the chicken... The list goes on folks... Go see for yourself!! Enjoy!!
Very good lunch spot. Surprisingly not crowded. My wife and I have gone twice now and had really good meals. The staff was friendly. They also had a number of gluten free dishes. Highly recommended.
William and the staff at Sage Bistro were amazing from start to finish. They worked with me to accommodate a flexible crowd, provided excellent service and prepared a really tasty and varied menu. There were 30 of us and everybody raves about their meal. Would come back again in an instant.
The food here was delicious!!! I had a salad with the balsamic tarragon dressing and tsatziki, while my friend had the falafel wrap. Both were loaded with dark green and purple lettuces, and the tsatziki was delicious! We couldn’t finish it all. Had to leave the tsatziki because we had a 4+ hour ride ahead of us, but gosh it was good. Waitress was very nice as well. I highly recommend!
Huge salad that comes with the meal!!! One of the best calamaris I have ever had, and the hummus guys!!! You need to come here ASAP. I havent even tried my main course yet! Our waitress Miriam is also amazing!
I went here on a lunch date with my husband and everything was amazing. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the salmon salad and he had the sage fave. We also had the sampler as an appetizer. Don't be afraid to try the house made dressing it is AMAZING. I also don't normally like taziki but their taziki was awesome. I will be coming back for sure.
Just delightful! The food is delicious and perfectly seasoned. Warm, friendly service. Quiet, pleasant, soothing atmosphere. Very happy to have spontaneously ended up here.
I have been to Sage quite a few times and everytime I go I find something new to like about it. The staff is very friendly and there are new specials added often. Pretty good selection of wine and house made cocktails. The portions are sufficent and very reasonable priced. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat!
Love Sage! Great menu and great food.
Food and service were spot on! I had shrimp and pasta which was delicious. The balsamic vinaigrette which I chose as the dressing for my salad was the best I’ve ever had.
Absolutely amazing authentic mediterranean food. We ordered falafel sampler and Sage pasta. Fresh ingredients, ample amount of olive oil and soft pita bread and amazing dips. Can't wait to come back to have more!
Waitress was nice and friendly. I went in to try the calamari. It did not disappoint! Best calamari I've had in along time! Nice low-lighting atmosphere. A bit pricey if I didn't have a discount voucher, but it's more upscale than the average quick eatery.
I had a delightful experience at this restaurant! The ambiance was welcoming, the service impeccable, and the food exceeded my expectations. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the chef's culinary expertise. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
An accidental find with a deep Eclectic menu ! Super Fresh salads and food. Guilderland , Who knew!🤗👍
2024 - Delicious food. We had wonderful takeout, but it would be even better dining in. 2-4-2025 Four of us had an excellent meal dining in. We started with Fried Brussel Sprouts with crispy bacon tossed in a spicy mayo sauce. All of us thought the taste was exquisite. Two of us had the Smoked Giuda Chicken, which we both found with chicken, which was wonderful. The 4th had a Stuffed chicken with bacon special, which they thoroughly enjoyed, Our server, Olivia, was very pleasant, courteous, and efficient. She made the meal even better by being attentive, yet not intruding. We topped the night off with coffee and two desserts. The chocolate cake was very good, but the Tiramizu, although plentiful, was lacking in tastiness. Overall, I give a whole-hearted thumbs up and unqualified recommendation to this restaurant! We will certainly be dining here again! 4-17-2025 Three more great meals. .my Portuguese Chicken-sausage-vegetable dinner was very good, as were the chicken-artichoke and turkey-bacon panini. 10-5-2025 six of us had more great meals. We've yet to be disappointed. This is a diamond-in-the-rough restaurant. Try it and see what you think!

Sage Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants in the area & never disappoints. We have had Carlos as our server several times & the service / quality of food is always magnificent. The calamari is some of the best I've ever had, & the chicken and seafood entrees I've tried, always impress. This little gem is amazing. Kudos to the chef, management & waitstaff!!!
My friend and I went to Sage Bistro for Dinner and as she promised, we had a great experience. I like the restaurant's warm, relaxed ambiance with tables and booths for diners. The decor is Mediterranean. Local artists sell their work here and donate the proceeds to various charities. One artist sells works to donate funds to California Fire Survivors. Our server, Olivia, reviewed the Menu and Specials with my friend and I. We appreciated her suggestions. She selected Orzo and Vegetable Soup. The delicious Soup has LOTS of Orzo and Vegetables. The main course was the Mojo Steak from the Specials List. This Steak Dish gets its name from Mojo Spices (Lemon, Cumin, Bay Leaf, Oregano, Garlic) giving the meat a zestful herbed flavorings. The Side Salad came with her favorite Greek Cucumber Dressing. It is light and flavorful, with a hint of Lemon. My dinner started with Creamed Asparagus Soup from the Specials List. The Soup is a great springtime choice. The Creamy Asparagus is bright, with a subtle grass flavor. The herbs and spices add complexity to the dish. This is my first experience with Eggplant Puttanesca over Linguini. The Grilled Eggplant, Sauteed Tomatoes, Onions, Olives, and Capers in Marinara Sauce combine to create a bold, savory dish served on a bed of Linguini. This is a visually appealing flavorful delight! I chose Balsamic Tarragon Dressing for my Size Salad. The sweet and tangy dressing has a light Licorice flavor adding zest to my Salad. The Chef came to our booth and asked us about our meal selections. My friend raved about the Mojo Steak Dish. I promised to order the Eggplant Puttanesca again. Olivia took marvelous care of us. We enjoyed our conversation with her and wish her the very best in her studies. I promised to bring my husband in for memorable meals. Thank you, Chef, Olivia, and the Sage Bistro Staff for a wonderful dining experience.
I have lived down the street fromt this restaurnt for nearly a decade and heard some mixed reviews. I finally gave it a try and I was pleasantly surprised. Most entrees come with a salad and they give you some complimentary pita and hummus. I had the Lobster, shrimp, and scallops Capri and I have to be honest it was bussin!! The seafood tasted fresh and was tender and the sauce was delightful. My wife had the Seafood New Orleans and she wasn't crazy about it, so I ate her leftovers and tho it wasn't as good as my dish it was still good. 5 stars for my experience
The food at Sage Bistro is outstanding! I have visited regularly for about 5 years and have never been disappointed. The meal starts with warm pita triangles and yummy hummus. All meals come with a generous salad. My husband recently had the lentil soup which was a special. The seasoning and texture made it a winner. Spices are used generously to give all food it's great flavor. My favorite is the house salmon which has a Cajun rub and lemon dill butter. My husband loves the Portuguese chicken. Other entrees are tasty, too. The rice - yum!
Decided to stop in after an open house at FMS and I’m so glad I did! I grabbed a seat at the bar for the BOGO margaritas and $4 tacos—both were fantastic. The food was fresh and delicious, and the margaritas were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Rhiannon, the bartender, was excellent— she was attentive, super friendly, and great to chat with. She made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
Came in with a small group a few weeks ago for dinner and can honestly say everything was delicious and on point. From the appetizers to the main dishes everything tasted fresh and well prepared. We even had a chance to meet the chef, Katie who was very pleasant and gracious. Will definitely be returning again in the future!
Came in yesterday for dinner with my family. Everything was really good. Ordered a Portuguese chicken for myself, and my husband and son had the chicken kebab and beef stroganoff. Food was delicious and we will definitely be coming back when in the area again.
My girlfriend and I live nearby and our cat is named Sage so we decided to stop by for an early dinner one evening. We were not disappointed. It was early for dinner and it was a weekday so when we arrived we were the only ones in restaurant (people continued to come in after us). I do expect slightly better service and quicker food when there are few people in a restaurant and this was certainly the case. The food was delicious and the service was constant. At one point they had a trainee (the owners toddler son) come check in on us and ask how our food came out which was very cute. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving Mediterranean food!
Food was fantastic, and the service was great. We got to talk to the chef, and she was also lovely. A hidden gem! I highly recommend. We will be going back

A tasty little gem!
Meal was good but didn't like the iced tea. Tasted old.
Always a great meal. Nice ambience. Wonderful wait staff.
Pricey for what you get however overall excellent quality.
Was very good food we were pleased!!!
Small but nice. Good food, good service.
Expect a laid-back and casual dining experience, this is not the place if you need a quick in-and-out lunch. The lunch menu is light and tasty with a Mediterranean influence, while the wait-staff are friendly and attentive without being annoying. And the gelato is wonderful.
Food was solid but not spectacular. Nice menu options and everyone was genuinely pleased with their choices. There just wasn't any wow factor in the food.
I loved the spaciousness, decor, friendly attentive service, and my turkey and cranberry panini and fries ( I have so missed fries!) and gelato. What a lovely bistro!
Staff is excellent- very solicitous and attentive. The food is very nice: appetizer, dinner and dessert were lovely. Highly recommended.
Food was outstanding. Service was unexceptional. Always surprised when an order is taken and servers don't know where the meals go.
This place is not as good as it used to be.
Got take out, 2nd time steak was rubber uneatable , usually good here but I think I’m done. Tossed my food out
The quality of the food has declined since I dined there before. Service was great.
Service was excellent, drinks were expensive and watered down. Food was poor, kitchen needs a lot of help.
The chicken orzo soup was awful. It was frozen vegetables in chicken broth with orzo. No flavor at all. The falafel gyro was better.
I was disappointed by the food. The items were very salty and had an off -flavor. Very disappointed with the quality of food and taste. I spent over $ 50 and it was a waste of time energy and food that was trashed because of the poor taste
Barnyard hummus, reheated chicken, microwaved rice. Overpriced for the quality. The house cucumber dressing and baba ganoush were good. Not sure how these guys stay in business....
Living in Guilderland we were looking for a great reataurant we could frequent regularly, but this certainly isn't the place. We had reservations and were seated promptly, however, waited 15 minutes and then finally asked a staff person if there was a waiter/waitress available. While the food was okay at best, for only about a quarter filled with customers, the service should have been better. We certainly will not be coming back.
Service was superb. Server recommended the peach chicken salad. Only 3 small pieces of peaches (really)and the chicken was dry. Will not go there again.
Food sounded great, smelled great but was so overspiced. Food was so 🔥 🥵 hot I could only take a few bites. Chocolate cake....the menu meant to say chocolate mouse, not the same thing. Seafood was petite and overpriced. For 1 dinner, 1 drink, 1 dessert with tip was $65.00 You should be full and happy for that price

The prices are ridiculously high.
Restaurant is a dump, overpriced, management horrible! Avoid at all costs, eat at home rather than this
Visiting the area and stopped by Sage Bistro…was not impressed at all. Later in the afternoon my digestive tract continued to remind me of the “not so good” lunch. If you are looking for lunch…keep looking as there has to be better and less expensive choices…sorry.
I'm not sure how this restaurant has so many good reviews. The floors are sticky and covered in black grime. I looked in the kitchen through the window in the kitchen door, it was also disgusting and in total disarray. NYS DoH please visit this kitchen... We left before the water was served.
Ordered take out. A salad with falafel and chicken. It was awful. Dry. Tough. Chicken tasted old. Could not believe how awful it was.
Cooked me a raw burger with nothing but the meat, cheese and bun. Terrible.
Never eat here EVER!!! Let’s start off with the HVAC system was broken and there was NO heat. Currently 42 degrees out and we froze. Everyone, just a few because this place sucks so bad, had their winter coats on. Over priced and food was awful. Added lamb to greek salad and it was big chunks and a piece was raw. Two salads, cup soup and side of hummus $72!!!! Drank water for God sakes. The worst part is we asked for the manager/owner to ask for one salad to be taken off and at first he flat out said no. I don’t care. I looked at him and said you are the owner and you don’t care he said NO I DONT. He reluctantly took off a salad and then refused to honor our local flavor certificate. I will be contacting them as well. Save the money and skip this dump.
Looks pretty nice, need to take care of the fruit flies and this gets a 5 stars on ambiance. Server was ok, cute kid running around asking if we needed water didn't hurt. Got the special: Crab Cake. I'm a Salaried Chef, and appreciate when specials have the full heart and soul of the Chef behind them, as I do. I rarely if ever send back food, if it's bad but edible I'll eat it with disappointment. This crab cake was probably the worst tasting thing I've ever eaten. For non-Chefs, have you ever microwaved something for too long, and the outside gets rock hard? That was the exterior of the crab cake. Not only that, but it was burnt... Horribly burnt. I don't know what this crab did to hurt the cook so badly, but even an hour later I could still taste that horrible burnt flavor. My guess is they burnt a few crab cakes on Valentine's Day, froze them instead of throwing them out, microwaved the burnt crab cake, and tossed some panko in top. The panko was literally not attached to the crab cake, they were like 2 different entities on opposite ends of the world. I asked the server to try and cut into it, and after a struggle, he said "fine". I told him to taste it, and he wouldn't dare. Hopefully they 86'd it. Message to the Chef: Please put your heart and soul into your cooking. A "special" should be special! I'm not mad, just disappointed. If you hate cooking, get out of the kitchen. Don't serve completely burnt rock hard crab cakes. I'd be embarrassed to serve this to my guests. If you need help, reach out. I feel bad, I've seen cooks burn out and lose their passion. I hope you tried the crab cake, and realized how truly awful it was. This restaurant is unforgettable in the absolute worst way. I feel bad putting down a cook, I've been in the industry for decades, but if you worked in my restaurant you'd be written up for serving such awful food, maybe fired (Unions make things hard with a successful restaurant). If you mess up a dish, or use a microwave (except for vegans, they get what they deserve), don't serve it. I'd rather have waited an hour for a decently made crab cake. I only have a few days off a month, and eating that crab cake was like eating the dead soul of the cook. I just feel sad for the cook, and they need help.
Very disappointed in the quality of my recent experience with Sage Bistro. It used to be amazing - wonderful and flavorful food - but not true anymore. Chicken was terribly dry. Vegetables were soggy and boring. Rice had a fishy flavor. Falafel was shockingly bad. I wish Hialal Guy (fast food) would come back to the Guilderland area. It was so much better. Sage Bistro - please reconsider your Chef’s choices, and perhaps your Chef!!!!
The $10 bowl of vegetarian orzo soup was tasteless. Frozen vegetables in water. The Mediterranean platter was good, and the free gelato was delicious. The service was exceptional.
I was shocked when we stopped there after Golf for dinner. I went to the ladies room and it was disgusting. The stalls and seats were full of urine. Had to change stalls, washed my hands stepped on the lever for the waste basket, which was 3 feet tall and it was filled to the top packed. Looked like it wasn’t emptied in a week at least. I told the rest of our group, don’t use the restroom it will ruin your dinner. It’s August 3 and I asked what their Sam Adams seasonal beer on tap was and he told me cold snap. Cold snap for this year doesn’t come out till January so it’s got to be last year‘s beer. I couldn’t believe he told me that I walked out to the bar. Sure enough cold snap. So I said I’ll just have a dewars and club soda. He said OK went to the bar came back. He told me they didn’t have dewars. I thought it’d be safer ordering a bottle of beer so that’s what I did. Then I was thinking of their lemon chicken dinner all day it came and it was so dry. I could hardly swallow it. Two of us ordered it. Both of us said it was dry. Needless to say, we won’t be going back there. The entire experience was awful.
The four standouts were the waitstaff, humous with warm pita appetizers, the sea bisque soup and a cocktail my husband had. The decor was dingy and dated with weird draperies on some of the windows. I had the lemon chicken soup with kale and orzo. Chicken was dry. The broth overly salty with too much lemon that made it very bitter. For dinner I had the chicken kabobs. The chicken was rubbery and basically inedible. Our fellow diner felt the same way. My husband ordered the mussels , 6 of which were unopened and should not have been served . The GF pasta and sauce were too salty to eat. We left feeling surprised over the good reviews the restaurant had posted and somewhat annoyed to have been served a subpar meal and paying for it. The waiter did remove the charges for one of the soups.
My dad bought gelato from this place and it was more than disappointing. From the packaging to the taste. We ordered vanilla and chocolate gelato and they were both disgusting. To even call that mess “gelato” is a hate crime to all Italians, it was a spoiled milk slushy. It was also served to us in a plastic takeaway box. To top it all off, it was 9 dollars for 3 and a half scoops of “gelato”.
