This place is real proper chill vibe. I try and go one to two time a year but if more people could make the trip to this place the vibe even more better because you can feel the local community vibe. Fish fry special day my favorite for the fish and chips they got proper spice in the fry. Pizza is proper me nah really sposta have pepperone but shit is bangin. Pizza is like a blend of wood fired north country style with New York City and good cheese n grease. Strongly recommend the oxbow for the chill vibe, the food, service and prices.

Great place to stop after any hike. My son and I had been backpacking the NPT for a few days. They did not mind how bad we looked! Great food and pleasant atmosphere

The socially pizzas were ordered were exceptional! The crust was thin but crisp, the toppings cooked perfectly. If we lived in the area I'd be a regular customer. Also, a great selection of beers on tap.

Stopped for lunch while scouting the area's snowmobile trails. Enjoyed a great lunch of Spy Lake pizza and salad. Highly recommend.

Stopped here for one night on a motorcycle trip. What a cozy spot on the lake. There was a bin full of motorcycle parts and accessories that you could use to clean or fix your bike. Plenty of firewood for the fire pits they have out back. The owners were very responsive and pleasant. The bar next door was also fun. Good food and cheap drinks. Looking forward to coming back.

Had an excellent lunch in our way back from Hadley NY. I had the grilled turkey sandwich, it was Wednesdays special. Quick service and the waitress was very thoughtful in regards to the rules with covid 19. We will definitely stop again.

We a yearly Camp on Lake Pleasant and have ate here about three times in the last two years. Each time we have gone with our family and our 1 year old that can get loud at times. The staff is always super friendly & accommodating. The food is outstanding! Rib Eye, wings, pizza are all really good. They have a solid selection of beers on tap. The atmosphere reminds me of a homey lakeside Lodge in the Adirondacks.

Fun atmosphere, great views and busy for the dead of winter mid-afternoon. Great fries, sweet potato tots were good and a first for me. Fish fry batter was dark in color but very good. First place to ever give enough tartar sauce for the portion- thanks! Reuben was average

Lovely vibes. Sit down restaurant on one side, bar seating and energy on the other. Solid pizza. Our cheese curds were spicy and yummy! Every table was full at 5pm on a Sunday. Cash preferred.

Pros: beautiful location, lovely atmosphere/ambiance, clean and well maintained. The owner(s) clearly invest in the establishment. Cons: food quality/flavor is wildly inconsistent. Party of seven last evening (8/23/25): those who ordered pasta dishes were reasonably pleased, although the prices of these dishes were too high. This isn’t fine dining- a plate of riggies can be made for $6-7 depending on ingredients used. Charging $25- especially with Utica (and it’s far superior offerings) being just 45 mins down the road was pretty shocking. One party member ordered a Reuben and he was pleased, although the garlic Parmesan fries were disgustingly over seasoned. The two member of the party who ordered fish and chips were MASSIVELY disappointed. The fish was clearly fried and frozen at the factory where it was produced. We’re talking bottom-shelf, Walmart quality, frozen fish. Advertised as “battered cod”. Yeah…no. This was twice or thrice fried minced pollock. Terrible. The accompanying french fries were similarly atrocious. Twice fried to reheat what may have been a palatable offering two hours earlier (we arrived at 740pm and were finally seated at pushing 830). We got the scraps- clearly. Aside from that- the experience was ok. The waitress was pleasant but lacked any sort of human personality. She also left for the day prior to the conclusion of our visit- apparently a family matter. That was totally understandable. What was absolutely NOT understandable was that she did not- even once- inquire about our feelings about the food. That was a huge red flag. Bottom line: cute place. Beautiful bar. Come here to get cocked and nibble on the offerings- don’t arrive sober and remain sober and expect to be wowed.
