Al Hamra

The food is very authentic and homemade. I especially enjoy the grilled lamb chops, and their fresh desserts. The portions are generous, enough for two meals. Afia is such a delight and always greets me with a smile that brightens my day. Al Hamra is my favorite mediterranean spot, dine-in or takeout. Warning: addicting.

I had a delicious kebab combo meal here for dinner and was wowed by the food and friendly service. The portions were just right (rice is especially generous), and the hummus really stood out - one of the best I've had anywhere! Will definitely return.

I was unaware that Al-Hamra had a second location until today, so I stopped by. The customer service here is beyond friendly and very welcoming. That alone is a rarity in today's society. As always, the food was very fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is clean & kept. I highly recommend and plan to return.

The prices are high but well worth it. And the service is excellent. They were so good with my son. They let me know it was ok for my 1 year old to walk around. Great place to eat.

We used to live in Redondo and were heartbroken to move away from the Redondo location. But then we discovered this branch!! So so so happy to have this restaurant back in our lives!!! The food is simply fantastically delicious - very fresh, amazing flavors, reasonably priced. And the owner and his staff are super friendly and so lovely. Wonderful ! Great food priced cheaply. They actually stayed open past closing hours because I was staying at the nearby hotel and wanted a gyro. They even gave me water because I raced over there! Above and beyond the call of duty! Will definitely go to and recommend. Don't pass the baklava!

The grilled lamb chops are the best in this area of Lomita and Wilmington. The hummus and pita excellent as well salad is fresh. I love this place.

Staff of Urdu lineage and heritage. Very gracious establishment. Dining area holds about thirty people. The masala for the fried breaded filet of fish is amazing. And happy amazement also for the taste and presentation and price of the other wonderful items savoured and devoured.

When we picked up the food (the staff was super nice), we were floored by how much there was, and at such a good price. And the food was amazing, we had so many exclamations and compliments from our guests about how good the food was (reaction was always milder before, and the cost higher). My favorite was the chicken shawerma with their perfect rice. Their hummus was just right (not everyone gets that tahini balance right) and their sauces were amazing (babaganoush, garlic and tzatziki). Our guests loved it and were very happy to get take home boxes as we had lots left over. Superb catering experience!

This place is great! Authentic Mediterranean food, my Family was a big fan of the Mango Lassi! We loved the chicken shawerma and lentil soup as well. The chicken kabob with the garlic sauce is also a must have. The service was excellent!

The food was delicious! Lamb cooked perfectly, loved the dressing on the salad, hummus & rice were good. Even though it's 83F today I ordered lentil soup & that was delicious too lol. It's nice to have more healthy options in the area! My only request is to change the to-go packaging! The lamb was so hot off the grill that it burned holes in the styrofoam! :0 I'll be back! :)

Got their Chicken Haleem. Was very tasty. Shredded chicken in a spicy green sauce. Comes with rice and a side salad. Would order again. Got their large Greek salad. Excellent portion. I ordered a dinner plate from this Mediterranean restaurant and really enjoyed it. The plate came with two skewers—one chicken and one beef—and I added an extra lamb skewer on the side. Everything was cooked perfectly. The plate also came with fluffy rice and a fresh salad that had mandarin slices mixed in, which added a nice, refreshing touch. The food tasted great, portions were generous, and it's halal, which is a big plus. Thumbs up from me—definitely worth trying!

This is exactly what we needed in this area. It is authentic middle eastern cuisine. First I will remark on the garlic sauce which is often left out from most inauthentic Middle eastern cuisine. It was the perfect mix of creamy and garlicky. The kofta, beef kabobs, chicken shawarma, and gyro were all cooked to perfection. They were tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Next we have the baba ganoush was had that smoky eggplant flavor that I love. This place is amazing. Haleem is also perfect !!! Please eat and enjoy!

LOVE the kabobs—they’re always flavorful and cooked perfectly. The hummus, however, can be inconsistent. When it’s thick, creamy, and balanced in flavor, it’s fantastic, but other times it’s thinner and overpowering. Because of this, I usually wait to taste it before deciding whether to order a side. I’d love to see more consistency here, as it would make this a staple order for me. As for service, I’ve noticed the woman working the counter doesn’t come across as very friendly, even to regulars like me. A little warmth and friendliness would go a long way in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Pickup orders are typically on time, which I appreciate, though there was a delay today despite the restaurant not being busy. I’m not sure what caused it, but timely pickups are important. If the hummus consistency improved and the service felt friendlier, this would easily be my go-to spot.

Two of us had basic plates - one was beef kabobs and the other a falafel plate. Both came with rice and green salad (and what seemed to be Italian dressing). I had asked for tzatziki and only received a tiny little condiment cup along with two condiment cups of a red spicy dip and a garlic dip. The meal was good however the price was very high for what was served. I'm not from the area but if I were to go back I would be a lot more specific about my order to make sure I was getting a good value.

We ordered food for takeout and was pretty disappointed small portions pretty expensive and nowhere close to the quality or as good as chicken mason the falafel‘s were super hard. The The salad they gave me was so small, It wasn’t even funny. I could’ve got the same thing from chicken mason cheaper way bigger portion and way way tastier.

Overpriced. Kafka kabobs and lamb chops were overcooked and dry that my kids would touch it, unfortunately. The dolmas had jalapeños added to it, which was a nice surprise to me but unusual and so my kids couldn’t eat that either. Shwerma was decent with the garlic sauce. Overall, a disappointing experience after spending $160 on takeout.

I got the chicken shawarma it was not good to me flavorless mostly tasted plain hummus not any garlic or seasoning. I’ve had better. My friend got a plate of kebobs he said he liked his it did have more flavor but more like a grill flavor than anything. Not my favorite, will not be going back.
