This charming cafe is a great place to grab coffee or some amazing baked good and sweets.. but they also have really good food so you can sit down and have a full meal here and get outstanding food at a great value for the area. It can get crowded at times with families and friends enjoying their spacious patio or bright inviting interior dining room. We have ordered almost all the food on their menu and all I can say is if you eat here you are going to be happy. The portions are just right.. a nice breakfast or lunch but light enough where you feel great. From a quick snack or drink on the go to a full meal with friends Pinwheel is a great option.. located at PCH and Hawthorn right near Trader Joes.. there is a huge parking lot but it can get full at time.. there is less crowded parking in the lot behind to the north. It is easy to see why Pinwheel Cafe is a local favorite.
Macarons are yummy. A little expensive... But it's in a nice area so that is to be expected.
An absolute gem for pastry lovers! The croissants here are perfectly flaky, with a golden-brown exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth interior. The baguettes are equally impressive—crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. We also tried the mini gâteau and tartes, and they were incredibly tasty, with a delightful balance of flavors. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee with a delicious pastry. If you’re a fan of quality baked goods, this place is a must-visit!
The first time I tried to go here I had to wait for my sister to come back from a woodworking class where she built some sort of stool. She ended up staining the stool in our living room and it made the smell so strong. She said she was gonna be baxk around noon so we can go but she ended up getting back at like 130! When we got there, the kitchen literally closed after the person in front of us order. So in unlucky!! Ended up getting a coffee and a pasty but I can’t remember what it was like. So fast forward a month or so we went here again but this time left early enough around 11 to actually make it in time. First though we went to the sidecar donut shop and we thought it was closed and was shocked! But it turns out the door was heavy and we weee able to go in. Then we went to traders joe to get some ingredients but there wasn’t a way to buy a single carrot so we decided to go to alfies later instead. Once we finally get to pinwheel we were waiting in line and struggled to read the menu because my vision is kinda bad and I should consider getting lasik. The only hesitation I have is that it seems scary and I am a bit of a chicken with things going into my eyes. I was struggling on deciding behind choosing between three sandwiches of the Parisian, the Marius and Brie. Parisian seemed good but it was only ham and butter and this was the last day before my diet and I didn’t want to waste it. The Marius seemed interesting but I saw that there was olives inside but I kinda wanted tuna. The Brie also looked good but I was worried my gf was going to yell at me for eating so much cheese since my face was sensitive and it’s causing me pimples. Like there was one week where I was eating lasagna and pizza a lot and then my face started breaking out which I got in trouble for. In the ended up choosing Brie and pretended it wasn’t cheese but she noticed and said she Wander bros me and can’t blame her for it. I also saw a little puppy next to us that only wanted to lick a bluebery and didn’t actually eat. Haha what a lil dummy
This is my favorite in the area. It's ample enough to handle lots of people inside and outdoors. The food is well displayed, staff are patient and helpful.
Wow, first time back after renovations. The price has changed and it seems twice as big now. Business is temporarily closed. See photo. We go there for the bread and lunch. Lunch deals include omelette and soup or avocado toast and soup. Yummy. Thank you and cudos to the staff that work so tirelessly during the Covid19 pandemic.
I really like this place, particularly for the terrific pastry selection. There are many delightful treats for sale here, but by far you NEED to try their Madeleines! They're the best out there, even better than the ones I've had in France. I also highly recommend their dip sandwich--delicious, juicy, and comforting on all fronts. My only criticisms are that the chef tends to overcook the eggs for their omelettes and the French onion soup has too much rosemary. Other than that, this cafe is a perfect gem!!
Love this place! Wonderful breads & pastries & Lattes! I love the bread of the day , walnut and cranberry, so good! Orange ,cranberry scones another favorite and did i mention the croissants, so good! the coffee is really the best! Baguettes are so fresh , as is everything else in here. A lot of the time I pick up things to go for meetings. It is quick and delicious!
Attended a wedding shower at Pinwheel. Very nice restaurant. The food and service was great!
Lovely little French cafe with artisan pastries, coffee, and brunch menu items. Order at the counter, find a table, and they will give you your food there. Pastries were around $4 and dishes were $11-15. Wait time once ordered was about 10 minutes, and well worth it! Pictured here is the Omelette Florentine with a side of soup from their permanent menu, and a special Paradise Tartine. There is ample parking, as it is located in a shopping center besides Trader Joe's and close to many other shops.
We live just 5 minutes away and enjoy pinwheels always fresh and delicious pastries and bread. We love have brunch here on the weekends. Lately I’ve been enjoying the turkey croissant sandwich, with avocado and the cranberry aioli. Very authentic delicious French food and pastries! Bon appetit! And they recently remodeled adding more seating space! We live pinwheel!
Even though the chocolate croissant was unfortunately sold out, I still had a great experience here. I ordered the French onion soup and a matcha latte, and both were delicious and comforting. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly, which made the visit even better. Cozy atmosphere and great service—I’ll definitely be back to try the pastries next time! ☕️🥐
This place popped up after searching for pistachio croissant and I can’t complain. Literally made my day, the filling wasn’t just a cheap cream but it almost tasted like real pistachio paste. Thanks a lot and definitely try it if you are reading this!
Smells amazing and taste even better! A bit pricey but the quality is there. I ordered the French toast that was a great portion, and was filling, paired with a pumpkin pie latte.
The bread and breakfast in this place are extremely good, but the salad sides on the plates are small, nothing like before. They used to give a better portion of salad side but, now they just give you 2 little small slices of baguette with 1 tiny package of butter. The little restaurant is located inside the Rolling Hills Plaza, and the parking is always packed during busy hours. They have a little outside patio if you want to enjoy a sunny day. Pastries are expensive but delicious! The service isn't the best but, the ambiance is good.
I can’t believe I have had this place near me all this time and I hadn’t visited until today. This restaurant is a must. For breakfast, I ordered a baguette with prosciutto and cheese. It was ok. Also, French toast with nutella which were delicious. I think they have been the best French toast in my life. The taste, the smell and the consistency were perfect. I definitely will be back here. ♿️ friendly. Cash and cards accepted.
Dined here Sunday around noon. It was windy outside but we sat outside as we had our little friend with us. Ordered our food and waited outside. The food (Pinwheel salad and Nordique omelette) came accordingly, and we were happy with our order. There was some coordination needed as it was windy…and we would definitely go back when the weather gets warmer.
I usually don’t become a regular at places because I don’t find the food memorable but this place is an exception—I’m not a regular because I’m physically too far! Everything is so fresh, and the bread is incredible. Please do yourself a solid and try the croque madame! I couldn’t stop thinking about it and for the few days I was in the area and having another taste became a top priority. The salmon omelette is 100% a skip—everything else I tried was just that good
The chocolate orange scones and chocolate almond croissant are my favorites. Sandwiches and salads have a nice French appeàl. The baguette is fresh and crispy. Great for pastries within LA!
I love this restaurant! Now even more since they expanded. Excellent food quality and fresh ingredients. Outstanding service. Great location with plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Comfortable place. Waitress are very nice.
Wow! The quality is top notch 👌 The escargot was better than I thought it would be! The service is excellent. Overall solid place, will come again
I ordered a Scone Fig and Honey (heated up)and a latte and asked if they had clotted cream. The person taking my order looked at me expressionless and said no and so I switched it to butter instead. The scone was slightly crispy on the outside and oh so deliciously moist inside, not too sweet and perfectly paired with 3 small packets of real butter. I’m so glad I searched out a place other that Starbucks. That Scone made the extra search and miles very worthwhile. Gonna order another one for the hubby so he could experience the same delightful experience I had! Oui oui to Pinwheel and more butter please! 😂

I visited the cafe for the first time, and it was my birthday, and I was very happy that not only Waitress but also all the customers in the restaurant blessed me together.

Was watching reviews online and thought it would be amazing. My wife and I were looking forward to trying a few regular items very much. However, some pastries, like the croissants were not fresh but dry. It could very well be just this one case, but I was a little disappointed. The morning breakfast sandwich was good!
The staffs are real nice but I personally didn't have a taste for the eclair and pastry. I'm that way with almost every bakery I've gone to, therefore I am the issue. The inside is well kept, clean and good presentation
Cute little bakery. We tried the salmon omelette, it was good but nothing extraordinary. From the bakery items, we tried the palmiers and the raspberry danish. They were excellent!! A bit too expensive like everything these days but overall I recommend it. They have a big selection of bakery items and the quality is very good, like in Europe. They could do something better with the decoration.
Quaint French cafe in Rolling Hills plaza. We were there for Sunday brunch. There was a small line to the counter where you can order coffee, prepared food, and pastries. We had the Brie-Liscious Tartine (excellent!), and the Morning sandwich on baguettine (okay, a bit under-seasoned). We enjoyed our coffee, which I was pleased to have with their selection of non-dairy milk. Their pastries are wonderful. Try the pistachio croissant. We appreciated the outdoor patio seating, as it was busy and gets quite loud indoors, but there were several people with dogs that didn't control their barking, which was disruptive. Hopefully, that isn't a regular occurrence.
I stopped by a French inspired cafe called the Pinwheel Café and it was a great! The service was welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can tell the team here truly cares about creating a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The almond croissant was incredible! It was light, flaky, and filled with just the right amount of almond filling. You could tell it came straight out of the oven. The quiche of the day (broccoli and cheese) was perfectly made, with a golden, buttery crust and a creamy, flavorful filling. I also had the French onion soup, which was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. We also tried the Spanish latte. It was smooth, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced. And for anyone who loves authentic French cuisine, they even offer escargot, which you don't often find in cafés. Overall, Pinwheel Café has excellent food, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere. Can't wait to come back and try more of their pastries!
We enjoyed delicious sandwiches and mocha in the relaxing outdoor courtyard. It’s a rare treat during the pandemic. The Club sandwich is made with French baguette and tasted just right. Service is friendly and prompt.
Love their Californian (except the one time the bread was burnt). The tomatoes, avocados and the cheese are the perfect combination with the toasted bread. Love their lavender latte with oat milk also. Almond croissant also are delicious but a bit heavy (not as heavy as the pistachio ones) but it’s a croissant! The waffles have room for improvements as they were not crisp.

I ordered the Nordique omelet, vanilla latte, the gluten free cheesecake, and the rum baba. The omelet was delicious. I was surprised it did not come with a side of toast or bread, which would have elevated the dish. The cheesecake was tart, but I didnt mind it. The rum baba tasted like plastic. I ate 3 bites then threw it away. I enjoyed the vanilla latte more than the desserts.

really nice place place to grab all kinds of yummy goodies. baked goods are...good. the service was good too. tons of seating and outdoor too. prices on some stuff are a little high, but for the area I suppose decent on other stuff. the Cheddar scone was alright but had a rubber cheese to it. not my favorite. the omelet was average. it's not bad, it's not mind blowing. but the staff were the best part eith smiles and being super kind to everyone I saw them handle.

Previous time came over they give us a wrong item but it’s really not a problem, them food is all good anyway. But this time because my diet, I just want no bread for my omelet can I substitute for something else, anything is fine the cashier said we can’t, cause no option on the system let her do it. She can’t even talk to kitchen!? Just add a little bit more salad or something? Even you said that but don’t even do it make your customer feel better for the food they paid. Probably that’s them store service style! Don’t like customers make any change for them plates. Anyway really not happy with her “very friendly but sorry you can’t attitude”
Not impressed with the ambiance. Cold metal chairs and marble tables...needs some couches to make it more comfortable. Also, they don't have bagels only super sweet pastries. Two drinks and two pastries was $15 so decent prices.

Sells gluten free bread but “runs out” and refuses to make alternative accommodations like using sourdough. Disappointing.
I didn’t know this place! I went for a haircut next door and decided to stop by. I just bought 2 pieces of their pastries. The fruit tarte was okay but the eclair was awful!
Zero star! I have been coming to Pinwheel since they opened years ago ( multiple owners ). Quality of the food had been in decline. Service is getting poor. Couple weeks ago, I went in to get a scone and a tart to go. The tall gray hair guy ( he could be the baker) had serious attitude. Very arrogant. The scone was dry and tasted awful. Not edible. The tart was stale tasting, I had to toss it after a couple bite. $13 ! The poor service and bad attitude are unacceptable. Pinwheel was one of my favorite for many years, I would never ever go back after this last experience.
