This is a fabulous place for all diets; omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. They clearly mark which foods are vegetarian or vegan. The service is quick and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. We come here multiple times every time we visit. It's that good!
My favorite restaurant in Windsor, amazing food , peaceful atmosphere , kind people, If you're in Windsor you must try this restaurant !
I read through the 1 star comments because I was shocked to see that anyone would give this restaurant a 1 star review. As a fellow food service worker it saddens me to see so many people talk negatively about slow service. Making food takes time, especially when it is high quality food and it is busy. Do not go out to eat if you are expecting to get food in 10 minutes, if that’s what you want go to McDonald’s or something. You are paying for high quality food and a very nice, generous, and attentive staff. Everytime I eat here I tip 30% because everything here is just that good. If you are reading these reviews to decide if you want to eat here please ignore the negative comments, they are sad individuals, while some may have had negative experiences, restaurants are not perfect, you cannot make everybody happy, but they do the best they can and are very good at their jobs and service. Food is amazing by the way!!! Everything here I’ve had is amazing. My favorite is the spicy chicken tikka masala and the special pumpkin curry. Both are very savory, flavorful and enjoyable. 100% my favorite restaurant, couldn’t be better in my opinion.
You MUST stop at this amazing restaurant! The staff was amazing, the food was so flavorful. Sorry only picture is of the cauliflower appetizer, you can choose how spicy you would like the dish. When the chicken korma came out with the garlic naan I was so excited I forgot to take pictures. Great menu with loads of options and you can choose your spice level. Thanks Amy for an excellent suggestion!!!!
Still my absolute favorite restaurant in Windsor. Service, quality of food, everything they do is consistent and excellent. Anytime I visit, nothing goes wrong. Anytime I have visitors from out of town, I treat them here. If I can't join, I l highly recommend they visit and experience its greatness themselves. I'm truly grateful for this local gem and wil continue to be a loyal customer simply because it's perfect! Btw: I tried the stir fried Himalayan noodles for the first time. If you haven't had it yet, try it! It's absolutely delicious!
The jhol momo was absolutely delicious. The momos were soft and well-filled, and the jhol had amazing flavor. Highly recommended.
Windsor is an area we've gone by many times going to and coming from farther south, but when looking for a Nepalese restaurant that was open on Monday (several in Santa Rosa area were closed) we discovered this attractive down town area as well as the restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere, delightful food, and friendly and helpful service. We WILL go back!
Very good Indian and Nepali restaurant with authentic food. Surprised to find such a good food so far away from the city. Ended up ordering only the mild sauce level food, but to my delight it turned out to be still very tasty. If you happen to visit this place, don't forget to try their dessert Gulaab Jamoon. A real treat to your taste buds. Made the traditional way as in India this is made in Rose Milk and gives the flavor and taste that you don't get with the usual sugar syrup. Samosa Chat is on the sweeter than the other places primarily with the Apple bits that are added gives that an added taste of sweetness to the otherwise a spicy dish. The Tofu Tikka Masala is made with tofu stuffed with raisins and nuts and the creamy sauce is full of spices that gives an added taste that otherwise might be simple and bland. It's a great feast for my taste buds and that's not an easy one to say especially all we had was food with mild spiciness. I am
Excellent service! Excellent taste ! Butter chicken is to die for ! Had avacado bhel, was awesome too ! The team is so kind & serve you very well.
I used to frequent the Himalayan spot in Healdsburg until it closed down. Thankfully (better late than never), I found this place. Had great reviews, figured I'd give it a try. Placed an order for pickup, took about 25 to 30 minutes. I parked across the street. I walked up and was greeted outside by an employee. I was brought inside and my food was ready. I paid and left. Food was amazing. I ordered garlic Naan, chicken Tikka Masala, lentil soup, and fried rice. Will be back!!!!!!!!! 🤤🤤
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and helpful staff. The lunch specials were the perfect selection for us. Included soup, salad, and naan along with the main course. Added Garlic Cilantro Naan, Vegetable Samosas, and a Mango Lassi for good measure. Everything was tasty - highly recommend!
Lunch special was delicious loved the salad dressing and Tika masala. All excellent at amfood price.
My husband and I LOVE this restaurant!! Our favorite. Great service, amazing food, it’s a gem we discovered on a whim and will keep coming here for years. Even during the holidays we make any excuse to escape to Windsor from our home about 45 minutes away, just to have a nice lunch or dinner. Garlic cheese naan, tikka masala, tandoori, vegetarian & vegan options too! And grab a Taj Mahal beer too! Our go-to for taking our friends or family out. 5++ stars!! 😋🍛🍲🍺
As someone who isn’t a fan of curries, I have to make it a point to say that I really enjoy eating here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is very flavorful and made to your spice level preference. I highly recommend the Lamb Tikka Masala. It has become my go to, but you won’t be disappointed with anything you choose.
As recommended by locals, I got to try Himalayan restaurant. No actually, that is what it is called. The food was tasty and delicious, but the service was super slow since they were likely super short staff. They do also do take out orders, but it seemed like the people who did place those orders were waiting for quite a while.
Himalayan Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in Sonoma County, known for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality. It offers a rich variety of dishes inspired by the cuisines of Nepal, India, and Tibet, bringing the taste of the Himalayas to California. The restaurant is famous for its fresh ingredients, delicious curries, momos (dumplings), and flavorful vegetarian and vegan options. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make every guest feel welcome. Furthermore, Himalayan Restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience that keeps people coming back. Highly recommended!
My sister said that the tandoori chicken was the best she had ever had-so tender
One of our family's absolute favorite spots to eat. Every visit is a treat! The service is consistently fantastic—always friendly, attentive, and welcoming. And the food? Simply amazing every single time. Whether we're trying something new or sticking to our favorites, we leave happy and satisfied. It's one of those rare places that never disappoints. Highly recommend!
FLAVORS and a VEGANS DELIGHT. Need I say more. This restaurant has been on my list to try for a very long time. Today was the day. My only regret, not eating here sooner. Their reviews are out of the world and now I know why. The secret is in the flavors. Everything we ordered was very pleasing. So fresh! So tasty! So happy! If you're vegan or Gluten free, you're in luck. You have choices. In fact, so many choices that the menu can be overwhelming because there are so many options. The hospitality is humbling. The culture is kind and really wish this restaurant was closer to me. Don't miss giving it a try.
This restaurant satisfied my Indian food cravings! I love it! They also give you hot towels before the meal. Excellent service!
Love the naan selection! All the food that we tried was amazing. Every dish was spiced and flavorful. Great balance of seasoning. Tender lamb and chicken. Everything cooked to perfection. If you like some heat, ask for their homemade hot sauce to try. Highly recommend!
I've been here several times and always enjoy it. Great flavor, great atmosphere, nice location. Feels much classier than the prices reflect. We've always had very friendly service. Great for a night on the town.
I was visiting Windsor and was looking up restaurants to eat and saw that this was very highly rated! I’m not too familiar with Himalayan and Nepalese food so I was excited to try it out! It was pretty busy for a weeknight dinner but we didn’t have to wait for a party of 2. We sat inside and parking was easy as there is plenty of street parking. After we ordered we were even given a warm towel to wipe our hands on. We ordered mango lassi’s, vegetable samosas, chicken korma curry with white rice and garlic naan, and we wanted to try something different that we don’t usually see so we got the fried noodles of the Himalayas with shrimp. The mango lassi was amazing, the vegetable samosas came with tons of sauces. We read that they give our complimentary lentil soups but I think that’s only for lunch so we didn’t bother asking. We opted for the chicken korma curry because it was highly rated and it met its expectations! We got ours a little spicy too and it was filled with so much flavor and texture, you can def tell the different spices and ingredients compared to a regular masala or curry. It paired so well with the garlic naan. They serve momos there which are dumplings from Nepal but we opted for the stir fried noodles of the Himalayas with shrimp. When trying to explain how it tasted which was really good, it reminded me of a Mongolian bbq with special types of mixing! I would highly recommend. We were way too full for dessert but they had tea bags on the table too. The service was great and very friendly and we really enjoyed our meal here, I’d definitely come back!
Love this place so much. The decorating was lovely and feel authentic the food was so delicious we had pumpkin curry, lamb shank and kids noodle soup. They have cinnamon brown sugar Naan that's absolutely out of this world. I'm super happy. The welcoming Lentil soup was so good my kids had it all within a minutes. This place is definitely a must to try if you love Indian / Himalayan food the price was right. Definitely will be back again and again. 😊
This place is clean and nice. I enjoyed the Nepali food and had the option to choose the amount of spices.
Loved the food and the service. We went for the Himalayan vegerarian noodles, chana masala lunch, tofu tikka masala lunch and vegan curry lunch plate. The food was cooked in good quality olive oil. The lunch comes with roti or naan option, I suggest you opt for the wheat roti, it was really soft. The lentil soup was underwhelming, it is not the traditional daal soup which many of us are used to, it tastes different, 3/5 for the soup. Chana masala, tofu tikka masala and vegan curry are all 5/5. Lastly the Himalayan noodles are good, use the vinegar, 4/5.
BEST Indian food we have ever had!! My husband and I were visiting the area and had dinner here for our anniversary. The service and food was outstanding. Our server was quick, very attentive, extremely accommodating and so kind - truly above and beyond service, with a big smile and a wonderfully pleasant attitude. We ordered the Flying Horse Beer (from India), rosé, (both super refreshing), the fried spicy cauliflower (SO good), the garlic cheesy naan (RIDICULOUSLY good), the baby back ribs, and spicy coconut chicken with vegetables and basmati (Amazing!!). Our server also included a cup of their delicious house made soup to start and brought us a side of the Tikka Masalaa to try with our entrees. I’m only disappointed that we were so full we didn’t have room for dessert! We will absolutely be coming here every time we visit Windsor. They are a wonderful restaurant with such outstanding service and excellent food that they deserve everyone’s business!
Wow! The food here is delicious! Best Himalayan restaurant we have found so far. Full of flavor I suggest trying the Chicken Tikka Masala and Nan Garlic with cheese. Service was great they are so kind and polite. We stumbled on the restaurant cause they were open the earliest for lunch. The background music is pretty awesome its so soothing. They have a TV thay displays a video of hiking in Nepal. Pretty cool. We will definitely be back.
"I dined at Himalayan Restaurant (Nepali&Indian Cuisine) along with my two friends yesterday. It was a delightful experience from start to finish. We were welcomed by the papad absolutely thin and crunchy with three different chutneys. We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Matar Paneer, Goat Curry and fried spinach with Naan and some brown rice. They were so nice and left us finger licking at the end. The tandoori chicken was so soft, juicy with flavor of different spices! The warm ambiance, attentive service, and of course, the incredible flavors of the food made it a memorable meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving delicious and unique cuisine. A definite must-visit for food lovers!"
Very special place. Great menu options. Service was wonderful - they pay attention to details. We loved the Nepalese dishes. Prices are fair. Overall a fantastic experience.
We come here as a family often! That means this place is good, and welcoming. The food is always delicious, and their mango lassis are incredible! Give this restaurant a try! 10/10

This is hands down the best Himalayan food I have ever had & I’ve been to Nepal! They brought the BEST of their cuisine to Windsor & every dish delivered. I felt like I was eating like a queen with the spread I ordered! Somosa, gobi Manchurian, roti & carrot pudding; it was all incredible! Great service & the restaurant was beautifully decorated with photos/paintings of Nepal, the Himalayas & sacred Stupas. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Wow. Food was delicious. Perfect amount of spice. Lunch specials included small cup of soup, small side salad, rice, naan bread and main dish. I had Salmon and my husband had chicken. We practically licked the plates clean! 😂

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here today. The lunch specials are an incredible deal. They include lentil dal soup, a salad, rice and a main dish. I appreciate being asked first what spice level you prefer- I’m a medium spicy and my lunch partner likes mild. The soup was so simple yet amazing. Their naan is quite fresh. I enjoyed the hot chai as well. Very pleasing and colorful decor. Service was kind but a touch on the slower side. Will absolutely return here.
The dishes were delicious. Was not expecting Nepalese in Windsor!!! Was a great surprise. Got here just before they closed for the afternoon. Glad we made it.
Nice Restraunt, Different then Regular Indian food. They had a gluten Free roti. I tried it but it was too thick and didn't taste much like a roti. It was made out of chickpeas flour. It would have been a lot better if they made it out of rice flour. Since dosas can be made more like a roti to eat curry with. Other cuuries were good. They also have a kids menu where a chicken noodle soup is offered. My granddaughter loved it except for the carrots in it.
After tasting wine in the morning and then heading back to the southern end of Westside Rd for wine in the afternoon, we decided to try Himalayan in Windsor for lunch. This was based on the high ratings. The food is definitely well prepared and delicious and the service was attentive and on point. However a couple of points. We were seated in a booth right next to another party although the other side of the restaurant was very sparsely seated. The second point is that I suspect that the food is far more Indian than Nepali. Otherwise a delightful meal that we fully enjoyed.

Postives: Although group I was in was accommodated quickly, this place is truly not built for large groups. More like 4 people max. The place had nice decorations. Negatives: No one took my drink order, because I was never even made aware there was even a drink menu. The food came out after 30 minutes. Not even an exaggeration. I was expecting the food to be phenomenal after a long wait, it fell truly under my expectations. Plating was lackluster. Chicken tasted bland. I was expected to share my bowl of rice? That was never specified on the menu. It was pricey for what was in my experience, very mild food and terrible service.
